Thanks a ton! got the breakfast sandwich and with turkey & a turmeric latte. I liked the breakfast sandwhich- the turkey is deli meat, so just keep that in mind. The latte was good (a little plain, I couldn't really taste too much cinnamon or ginger but it still tasted great). This is a pretty reasonable priced place! I did feel as though customer service was a little rude- when I called, the person over the phone was rushed and didn't seem like she wanted to answer my questions. I also did ask if the breakfast sandwich could be made a little sooner and her response was "well it needs to cook in the oven doesn't it" & in my opinion there is no reason to be that passive aggressive. read more

Came here looking for a hangover cure and found the BEST breakfast sandwich!! it's the ultimate breakfast sandwich with bacon and has an amazing aioli on it. The croissant was perfect. Also got the orange juice and a blueberry & cheese danish and both were great. I will definitely be back and want to try the peanut butter mocha. read more

Such a great little spot! I absolutely love this place. You see a lot of these little coffee and sandwich corner shops in the city and they all feel very special, but this one is serving exceptional food and coffee. For, WAIT FOR IT, REASONABLE PRICES. The sandwiches are about $10 flat, a rarity anywhere in the bay let alone the city. They also offer a stamp card which has slots for both coffee and sandwiches and your 10th is free! There is adorable outside seating and the rosemary aioli is soooo good! read more

10/10 Small, Quaint, slice of France corner cafe with French jazz and blues in the background. I had the cold cuts sandwich and iced mocha both very delicious. Sandwich was warm, savory, packed with flavor and a hot of tangy and spice with the pepperoncini sauce. Mocha had a bold balanced flavor of coffee and velvety dark chocolate. Good sandwiches and good coffee. What more can you ask for?! Seriously, stop by and try anything on their menu and it will SMACK. My favorites are the prosciutto and mozzarella, the rosemary chicken and the ultimate breakfast croissant sandwich. SO GOOD. I literally think about that breakfast sandwich every morning. When I first came in here and saw the menu, I wasn't exactly sure what set it apart from any regular cafe outside of the unique tile facade outside. The drinks - particularly the chai or earl grey latte - are absolutely delicious. But the sandwiches are what makes it legendary. They literally put me on tuna melts, and the chicken pesto singlehandedly cured me of my chicken teriyaki addiction. Also, the owner clearly cares a lot about his employees and customers. Personally that goes far for me but hey I also go a lot so pick your reason to go. read more

Found this place nearby when I was in the neighborhood. Saw it had great reviews so I decided to stop by. There aren't a huge selection, but many sounded tempting that I didn't know what to get. One of the guys behind the counter (who seems like the owner) recommended the English breakfast (toasted English muffin, egg, ham or turkey, Swiss, tomato, spinach, a bit of red onions, and Dijon sauce. The other breakfast item is "the ultimate" which is like the noisy breakfast except with a croissant and avo; a 2.75 difference. I ended up getting his rec of the English Breakfast with turkey and was not disappointed. The Dijon sauce paired so well with everything else. It left me wanting more. As for my drink, my eye caught the earl grey latte, which was alright. It had a nice aroma of earl grey. No fancy latte art tho, but that's not the essential :) Side note: overheard the same guy explain the different between the regular croissant and the almond croissant that are in the display window. The almond croissant not only had almonds on top, but had almond paste inside, adding a bit more sweetness to it. read more

The food was tasty. Service was quick, with a small line at 945 am. Excellent inside, plenty of seats. Homelessness is what gave this place a 4-star. I had to intervene with two young ladies getting harassed by a homeless guy that took her food and was getting too close. Other than that. I would come back here again. read more

I flew in from San Diego and staying at the Pineapple Hotel. I discovered this fabulous place nearby for breakfast. Sitting on a corner in Knob Hill is a lovely little cafe that is perfect for coffee and a croissant. Their pastries are delicious, and their breakfast sandwiches are even better. If a purveyor of breakfast sandwiches you are, then this is the place for you. I ordered both the ultimate breakfast sandwich and paired it with a French Lavender Latte. They go hand in hand and perfectly complement each other. My wife loved the Mozzarella and Prosciutto Sandwich. This place is perfect for a quick, satisfying breakfast. Chapeau guys! Well done. A real neighborhood gem! Crostini & Java is a small unassuming shop but their sandwiches are B O M B. Tried both the roast beef and the rosemary chicken sandwich and neither disappointed! I'd say the biggest standout was the bread - very crunchy, fresh, and didn't get soggy even after sitting for a few hours. The caramelized onions in the roast beef sandwich added a unique acidity, which made it even more delicious. I ordered a lavender latte which was fantastic as well, with just the right subtlety of lavender flavor. These were two of the best sandwiches I've had in SF so I'll be back for sure! read more

One of the greatest breakfast sandwiches of all time. The English Breakfast Sandwich: A freshly baked English muffin with egg (cooked frittata-style), spinach, tomato, and a delicious maple sauce. I had mine with ham, but you can substitute bacon or turkey. I pre-ordered, so it was ready to go when I got there. I ordered a double espresso as well, and the owner asked if I'd like to try it with a bit of steamed milk, so he made me a mini macchiato. There are 6 cafes within 5 minutes of my house, but I pass them all by and walk 20 minutes to go to Crostini and Java. Why you must be asking...it is because Crostini and Java makes the best lattes, has exceptional breakfast bagels and sandwiches. All menu items are packed with flavor! The bagel with ham and cheese and the turkey with brie sandwich are two of my favorites! Add to that the prices are reasonable and the staff is welcoming and efficient! read more

Overpriced and underwhelming with a pretty small menu and the only cheese they have is Swiss (but they appear to have 7 different kinds of meats and many types of pastries). I appreciate that they use real peanut butter in the PB Mocha Latte, but they didn't stir it very well apparently because once my drink got about 4/5 of the way down my cup, there was still plenty of visible liquid but all I could sip out of it was gritty peanut butter remains! The breakfast sandwich was fine, but the croissant it came on was crusty and kinda stale. The everything bagel with cream cheese and avocado was fine. read more
