I had a hard time finding a salon that would aggressively remove the calluses to the degree that the pain was reduced enough to enable me to walk pain-free again. I've seen a lot of reviews about a rude guy working there. My experience is that he is just honest and very matter of fact. I wouldn't consider that rude but more just to the point. The reason for the low stars is that the paint inside seems really outdated and dirty along with their floors not being so clean. Just overall the place seems a bit run down and not very clean and fresh like many other nail salons are. I went to get a dip powder manicure by May and she recommended I do overlay so that my nails can grow long and strong instead of continue to be weak from the strong glue you need to constantly take off and reapply with dip. She seems to care about the customer's nails health and not just do whatever the customer wants and I thought that was great quality you don't find at many nail salons. On another note I'm really picky with my manicures and find it astounding that nail technicians can't get the color all the way to the bed of your cuticles. Have been going here for a couple of years as recommended by my pediatrist. They do a great pedicure for troublesome toe nails. Jenny is meticulous (so make sure you have plenty of time), and does a great medical pedicure (and I'm sure general pedicure as well). May is also great at the same thing. I don't do anything fancy and typically my manicures are either clear or no polish. I've been very pleased with the care they take. I have come here on and off for a few years and think both the owners have a lot of talent and are lovely kind people; the kind of people that I prefer to give my business to. That being said I just left my 3rd appointment in a row, where I walked out disappointed because my nails are not what I wanted. Are they pretty, YES!!! But not what I asked for or my desired esthetic. Every appointment there is some reason I "shouldn't or can"t" have what I am asking for. All things I have had before by other nail techs. How I like my nails may not be their esthetic but they are my nails, I have to look at them every day. They are also the only thing I do for myself. The past few weeks have been really hard and all I want today was a break, a lil self care & to walk away feeling good. Instead I left disheartened, disappointed & put down. I do hair so I understand that as a professional & artist, you have your own esthetic and idea of what you think would look best and you should always educate your client but in the end it's there choice. If it isn't something you are comfortable doing then say that in the beginning and don't take on the client. I needed a fill after a nail broke and searched for a place open on a Sunday and chose crow canton nail spa. I went on their website and made an appointment for today and received a confirmation email. I got here a little before 10 and waited for them to open. At 10:05 I saw no movement inside so I went to the door and saw a small note under their house of operation (Sunday 10am-5pm) that says starting August 2024 they will be open Tuesday-Saturday. After making my appointment I read through some not great reviews and almost canceled my appointment but figured I would give it a chance but I should have just listened to my gut. We walked in and met the owners, May. at first glance you could tell it is a beautiful first class location and facility. We asked her if she could fit my wife in for a pedicure and if she has another person. As well ask, could you do an additional manicure? Her husband Tommy was available. So Tommy began with my wife's pedicure and I received a pedicure from May and finished off with a manicure treatment was perfection. I will be back in another month. The man who works there started popping my nails off with his own fingernail instead of the typical soak and removal. I asked him and he said that if I wanted that it would take 1 HOUR. I have never experienced a removal taking more than 30 minutes. He was extremely rude and started using the drill to remove my nails and it was extremely hot and caused me discomfort. I wanted to love this place based on the pictures but my set and pedicure were a huge disappointment. My nails were crooked even when I asked to fix. He actually said, "if your nails come out crooked, its because you moved" smh... Set up an appointment over the phone and Tommy was very nice and funny. I walk in, and the place is very clean and fully stocked with a variety of colors and services. There's plenty of room to be socially distanced from others. I was the only one in the salon during my visit so i felt very safe along with Tommy, myself, and another nail technician always keeping our masks on. I've been coming here for a mani pedi for years. The salon is very clean and sanitized. All if the technicians are friendly and kind. I don't have a favorite, because everyone does a great job. There are also a lot of colors to choose from. 2.5 years ago I lost the entire toenail on my big toe. They have been able to put acrylic on the top so it looks like a normal toenail. I've been to other places when my schedule was limited and they didn't do much with the acrylic nail except file it.
