A Laramie staple! I like most dishes here. Try the Thai fries, or the poutine. They have a crazy good banana Pb burger (just try it!) but also have more traditional burgers, pizza and sandwiches. Sort of a wide hallway, but feels cozy, not crowded. Wait staff are always friendly. read more

I decided to go here because born in the barn was closed due to staffing issues. The menu was ok not as much as I was hoping for. The female bartender as with many doesn't get the accolades as they should. They are under appreciated. She was answering calls taking orders dealing with orders and then dealing with the requests for drinks. I got the special which was I think the raven burger which is a combination of beef and sausage very new taste to me. I tried through their brews most from being in the nearby states I thought you were OK but for some reason seems like some of the beers are lacking on the vibrance of their taste or maybe I have Covid I'm not sure. . I got a side salad with a burger and a shoestring fries only thing I could say about the shoestring fries is they need to either change the oil because they were over cooked almost burnt and I was really looking forward to those because I don't normally see those type of fries anywhere. Stopped off in Laramie on our long drive for dinner and a hotel. We picked Crowbar and Grill because of their Yelp rating. It did not disappoint! The bartender (female but I didn't get her name) was exceptional in service, efficiency and friendliness. She was doing so many jobs at once and doing them well. My husband got the regular burger which was so good. I got the special pizza (spanakopita) which also was excellent. The beer choices are very substantial. Bathroom needs a little updating as does the kitchen but I would definitely go back here. read more

Had a good review here before, but the last visit reversed it. The middle of the pizza was soggy and wringing wet. No detectable red sauce, which was listed as an ingredient. Service was sloppy and I never got the beer I wanted with my food. (The truffle fries were still good though.) To top things off they require a mask to walk through to your table, then seat you literally touching other patrons. No other restaurant has required this even at the height of the alleged "pandemic". I get the impression they think they are "good soldiers" by requiring a mask. The Bilhook pizza was great, it would've been fantastic if I t wasn't overloaded with massive, barely cooked onions, and if there was more lamb. Everything was perfect. The food was awesome, really well priced, and with big portions. Sat at the bar with Tim, and got wonderful service. Polite, engaging, and fast. He grabbed me a water basically as soon as I sat down. I got the Raven with fries, and really enjoyed it. We used to love this place but the last 2 times we've been in have been really disappointing. The new staff barely talk to anyone except each other and are not friendly. It feels like you're interrupting them if you have to get their attention and ask for anything. A couple of months ago we ordered our favorite Pad Thai fries and they came out raw. After we sent them back they came out barely cooked. I'm hopeful that the Crowbar will get back to the old standards of staffing and food but for now we'll be going elsewhere. read more

Was once great, now all excuses, main menu not available when it was most valued (late), and now, they do a lot of pushy political signaling (inclusive of snotty/creepy mask-norming... in July 2022?). Manager lady seemed like she didn't want to be in this business: has an angry nanny-knows-best demeanor about her. Came in to be seated. The hostess took our names and added to the text list (We were the only people waiting). Sat outside and waited for about 15 minutes. Saw 1 party leave and waited to be called, figured they had to set the table and whatnot, nothing. It pains me to write this. I really wanted to like and support this place as we've been in Laramie a few days looking to possibly make a move in the future. My experience at Crowbar wouldn't affect a future move- that would be silly- but my experience at Crowbar is what brought me back to Yelp after two years of silence. First, we initially thought the flavors of the pizzas we ordered were good. We liked the thin, flaky crust and the overall appearance of our pizzas. About an hour after eating the pizzas though, things started to change. At first it was the lingering sour taste of the food that remained in our mouths. No amount of water or milk could make it go away. It was a mix of pizza flavor and bile in the back of our throats. The taste of their flavored beef permeated every pore in my sinuses and mouth. Then the urps started. Burning acid would come up with every burp. At this point I went to the store and bought ice cream for all of us to tamp down the acid burps. The ice cream was effective at reducing the acid burps but the effects of the pizza lingered well into the night. It was impossible to sleep. I have no doubt in my mind that something in this pizza- either the sauce or meat- was loaded with MSG or nitrates or the ingredients were spoiled. If you're someone who is bothered by MSG/nitrates and knows what it's like to try and sleep with these two toxic chemicals in your system then you know what I'm talking about. After a full day hiking and exploring the Snowy Range the last thing you would expect would be the inability to fall asleep until 3am. But that's what we all experienced after eating their pizza. I write this review the day after eating at Crowbar. We all woke up feeling hung over- no we don't drink alcohol. We feel bloated, lethargic, and all of us have toxic smelling gas. I hate to put this out there, but it's the truth. And before anyone questions what we ate before eating at Crowbar: we all felt fine through the day UNTIL we ate pizza from Crowbar. One other thing, the service was less than good. We ordered on the phone for pickup and arrived 15 minutes later to be told that there was a few more minutes left for cooking the pizza. I paid at the register, left a nice tip, and was told to wait outside, which I did. And I waited, and I waited. For 20 minutes. I then went back inside and told them that I've been waiting for 20 minutes for a pizza that was supposed to be done a few minutes after I arrived. I was told again to go ahead and wait outside so they could figure out what was going on. A couple minutes later a young man came out to tell me that my pizzas were ready but they were waiting for me to pay. I looked at him quizzically. I told him I had already paid, have been waiting for 20 minutes, and asked him if he would like to see my receipt. I was then told that he would go in and try and figure out what was going on... again. Another couple minutes passed and then he came out with my pizzas and apologized for the mix up. At this point the pizzas were lukewarm at best. But we were so hungry after a day of hiking in the Snowy's that we just left and brushed it off as an off night. An off night... let's hope that's all this experience was. Back to bed. read more

A good place to eat downtown. The Black and Tan onion rings are delicious. The beer selection excellent. The burger menu looked good but I went with the pizza. The crispy pizza crust is almost cracker thin with a dusting of corn meal on the bottom. The staff here is friendly and attentive which is important. I will definitely be back when in the area. I was in Laramie for business and had time to grab lunch before driving to Denver. I wanted to try a local place and was so glad Yelp led me to Crowbar. The burgers here are unbelievable and probably in my top ten best burgers category! I had "the raven" burger and chose based on the Gouda cheese, however, I think it was the creamy mustard and caramelized onions combination that set this burger in the best of category. It was also cooked to a medium rare perfection! I decided to add the truffle fries and wish I had a friend to share them with because they were delicious and I hated to waste a single fry. We were recommended to order a bunch of appetizers instead of that extra pizza. Not sure how that takes anything extra off of their kitchen? We do hear it's the best pizza in town. We've been to the Crowbar a couple times now, and it's time to say their burgers are well worth a trip to Laramie. I got the Raven: a solid mustard, bacon, Gouda burger that needs no ketchup. That's what's nice about the Crowbar, they'll offer ketchup if you want it, but they have enough confidence in their burger-build to know you don't need it. The Pad-Thai Fries are very good. It's kind of weird how much they taste like the real thing, just on potatoes. Next time it's definitely the poutine as the PTF have been the go-to. My wife says they keep some really good beers on tap, so that's something. For not being a brewery, it's good to know solid draws are an option. Finally, we did get a pizza special for the road. It was a spicy sausage, fresh jalapeño, and feta number that made killer leftovers. The way I see it, if you're going to travel to a destination like the Crowbar, order a pizza to kill as leftovers, and enjoy an entree in-house. read more

The wife and I stopped in here for some pre-game lunch on our 17th anniversary! We had the poutine fries and the cheeseburger pizza. For drinks I had the $5 Long Island ice tea and we had two salted caramel shots. The next day we had breakfast. Crowbar has legit the best Thai fries this side of Bangkok! Order them, actually order two, so you have some to nam on later. Crowbar probably has the best pizza in Laramie, and their beer selection is pretty strong throughout the year. The servers are quick, friendly, and helpful.
