Went in for a simple Craftsman rachet warranty exchange. They simply stated they do not warranty this rachet. I selected a model that was 1inch longer which was the closest matching in stock. Both were 3/8 rachets. I asked if the older model was discontinued what options do I have? They stated the warranty is not honored and they will not assist me in finding or ordering a similar model. A fairly rude staff throughout the discussion. I've been shopping here for years, such a shame to lose a customer over this. read more

This is a smaller Ace location then most, however they have plenty of staff and they always help you find what you're looking for. I have never met anyone that was rude or unhelpful at this store. And there's always a ton of variety. They may only have a few of each item, but you definitely get to check out new things and get the basics as well. I've bought paint here and I never wait like I do at Lowe's or Home Depot for it. I get cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, and they have organic brands too. They have vacuums, barbecue stuff, coolers, and anything from containers for food, to garden supplies. It may be smaller in size, but I always seem to find what I'm looking for. Today was my Second time I have shopped at ace hardware. I was helped by a lovely lady while I was looking for a drill. She was able to find me exactly what I was looking for. I wish I knew her name. Unfortunately, the gentlemen at the register is the reason why I won't be back. For the SECOND time at checkout, this man says looks like she's hanging up pictures and a shower curtain. I was helped by hazel, CJ, and the manager Mike Almere very nice, very helpful and saved a bad purchasing experience. There was an error in aces inventory software and I had been to 3 store trying to find the grill I wanted, each store telling me the next one had it.. these guys figured out the error and didn't send me to another store. "Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man" was/is their longtime jingle. Mostly true in my many visits to their various stores over the years. Yep, believe it or not I used to be a handy kinda guy in my more domestic past. So now luckily I don't have to spend my weekends putting up chair rails, wall paper etc. But occasionally I do need to enlist the help of my helpful hardware man. This need was caused by some door upholstery/trim on my Mustang that came apart. Yeah yeah yeah, quit with the Ford jokes: Found On Road Dead, Fix Or Repair Daily etc. I prefer: First On Race Day as I have had Mustangs for years and have only blown one up. The start of my visit did not get off well as I wandered the store looking for the adhesive aisle. It appeared to be Noah's Ark Day. Whats that? I would see Ace employees walking two by two, side by side, and always in the opposite direction. I finally found my aisle 5 minutes later and was pouring over the labels to figure out which one would not eat through the vinyl. Sean came to my rescue, and when I told him my application he knew exactly the product I needed. There is actually a name for that type of glue(will update later), which he more clearly defined: "you need cement and this one will be perfect." I had mistakenly gone to my local auto store and wasted $9 on the wrong product recommended by their employee. This one is working great....so far. Thanks Sean. Only came here once. I rush to get here from work. I was excited to paint my new room. It was 9 o'clock on the dot. She locked the door as I walked up. I tapped on the glass they told me they would not serve me. I told him I wanted sandpaper and I have cash. She told him no, she being the woman just locked the door. He went above and beyond delivering my purchase to my vehicle when he took a proactive step and asked if my battery was for home or something else... I replied it was for my LoJack fob. Nice selection of seasonal items (patio furniture in the summer, christmas lights during the holidays). Wide variety - everything from cleaning items, to paint, to car care, to tools, etc. I wish I didn't have to come here as much as I do because it's usually an "Oh crap I really need _______ right now to fix this" but it makes the chore easier when it's so convenient and the staff can direct me to exactly what I need. read more

I live right behind this establishment. I come here about once or twice a month. The times I do come here the employees always approach me and ask if I need assistance. They have always demonstrated good customer service etiquette. Also, it always feels like every time I go there that they are NEVER understaffed. I would even venture off to say that it feels like they're always overstaffed. That's just me being perceptive. Hopped into Ace to try to pick up a new light bulb for my car at left with oh so much more. They did not have the exact bulb i needed for my Prius (no one ever does) but the people working there directed me to finding where I could grab what I needed. These guys are extremely helpful with anything you could ever want. My car key battery has been dead for the past month and I could not figure out how to open up the backing in order to replace it (It is freaking child proof...) 3 of the guys teamed up and helped me open that beast and found me the battery I needed in order to fix the problem. They also let me use tools in order to unscrew the back (which I would have never have found a screw driver small enough to take those screws out) and change the battery. On top of that they made me a couple spared keys for my place that took about 22 seconds. What I think I am trying to say here is that these people are gonna help you get what you want no matter what. GREAT COSTUMER SERVICE!!!! read more

UPDATE: Mike is a Gem. Mike for President of Ace Hardware. Seriously. After delivering my Traeger back to me after installing the new controller Traeger had to send me (because Huntington Beach Ace sold me a Traeger with old outdated firmware) and learning it was still having connectivity issues, after Facetiming me, after countless calls with Traeger, what does Mike do to fix the problem? Mike shows up at my house for the THIRD time in less than a week after a long day at work. Mike drags a 300-pound smoker into my house because apparently you have to be really close to the router (and that's a Traeger problem not an ACE problem) and fiddles with the machine for a good 30+ minutes and lo and behold! WI-FIRE! Mike then drags the machine back outside and sits with me to make sure the initial prepping of the machine goes smoothly and testing out the Wi-Fire at various ranges to make sure it works. This man spent nearly TWO hours after his shift helping me when I couldn't even get someone at Huntington Beach to blink in my direction. I am beyond thrilled, and grateful for his help. What an awesome experience at my local Ace today. Went into grab a trash can and needed a specific type of trash bag and I wanted it to fit the trash can perfectly so I didn't have to tie it on the sides. If I went to Home Depot or Lowes and asked someone to help me with trash bags they would have told me the aisle and left me on my merry way; not Raymond!. Raymond took me to the bags and stuck by my side through the 15 minutes it took me to find the right bag. I know, I know. 15 minutes? What am I?Special? To Raymond I was, and so was my problem.
