First impression is great. Greeted at the door, got pointed to keys, got keys. Happy. Get home one won't work, bummer but such is life. I went back a few days later, had two people ask and check the lock as if I were an idiot, to no avail it's a bad key. I did patiently wait for the person in front of me as they could not meet his needs and it was taking time. End result no key, money back, unprofessional employees ruining a great business. Minus one for treating me like an idiot, minus two for unprofessional conversations about something different then your unsatisfied customer in front of you. Minus three for not being able to satisfy me in the end, minus 4 for having to look for a manager to refund me at that point. I give one back because the manager was willing to make the key a third time, I was not going back down that rabbit hole. In the future the employees standing around joking should be stocking the paint area not the manager who should be monitoring the key area. PS: had you offered to refund all my keys instead of $2.50 for the one I might of come back. read more

I've shopped at Ace for years, but lately its pricing has become unbearable. We bought a single battery here a couple of weeks ago for about $5 and later found them on Amazon at 8 for $3. Today someone in front of us complained about the price of his purchase and the sales person agreed, telling him it cost less than 1/3 on Amazon. I get the reasons for paying more to support local business and that's one reason I have shopped at Ace, but this seems more like price gouging. read more

Customer service and staff at this location is excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. their prices are pretty competitive to other hardware shops and its easier getting in and out here then having to sift thru many huge aisles at a Home Depot. The Aisles are also quite well organized, I've easily gone in for one item and end up picking up other items I happen to see and 'need' in the process. I just got asked to leave, no TOLD that I had to leave, Ace Hardware because I wasn't wearing a mask? You gotta be kidding me! Well Home Depot hasn't turned me away yet. Oh, and there was a man paying at the register WITHOUT a mask on, so I asked the cashier if a mask was required and he answered "Yes, you have to buy one or leave" AS HE WAS RINGING UP A MAN WITHOUT A MASK ON. This Ace Hardware has our family as loyal customers from here on out. Went in with my daughter stressed about her science project. It was a complicated bone project and I was lost. Alma (a supervisor) and Josh rescued me and my daughter in what I would have to say is the BEST customer service I've seen in several years. They not only helped us to better our idea, they suggested they could drill some of the holes to make it easier for us to get the project done. Don't be fooled by the size. They often have things that H.D. simply doesn't carry. A recent example - I was looking for a gas connector hose - the one that connects the dryer to the gas valve. The ones at the other place were all 48 inches long or more, and required adapters to go to 3/8" fittings. But Ace had 36" connectors with 3/8" fittings. Perfect. Other examples I can think of off the top of my head: many household cleaners, 1/4 turn hose bibs, washing machine shutoff valves, polishing compounds. This place is a great adjunct to the Big Orange Box. read more

Best customer service for a hardware store which you do not find at those big box competitors. This is on a smaller scale but it still had what I wanted everytime I went in needing something. I also love that homey neighborhood feel of this place. Their prices were also a bit less than the big box stores. Had a really friendly cashier ring me up who also recommended this great lotion called Naked Bee (sells out fast on the floor) as she happened to be unloading a shipment of it. The service at Crown Ace Hardware is just superb. Every time I walk in the store I am greeted and asked if I need help finding something or have a question related to the DIY job I am working on that day. They almost always have the exact thing I need. The prices are not as sharp as Home Depot, but they are competitive and the convenience for the smaller purchases makes it worth not having to go to the HD. read more

I went in to buy a grill, and four different employees didn't even know the most basic answers to questions I had about the traeger grills including pricing and what was in stock. The manager eventually came over and rudely asked me if I was buying a grill or not, because the store was closing in five minutes. Wow ! I went in here to get a floor cleaner for my new wood floors. I grabbed a kit and a jug of the stuff. Got to the register and the cashier said, I'm going to save you some money. Not since I was a wee babe have I seen such amazing customer service. It's like Mayberry in here. Totally down-home and friendly, which is kind of comical given the location. But much appreciated. It didn't seem more expensive than anyplace else - though based on the cleanliness and staff I would have expected that. When I handed the clerk a $1 bill as the part being purchased was 50 cents plus 3 cents tax, the clerk solicited me to "round up" my cash transaction to donate the remaining 47 cents in cash for a charity.
