Crown cleaner is close to my job and decided to try them out. I trusted them with tailoring a linen suit for my rehearsal dinner and with dry cleaning that suit and my wedding suit & custom shirt after my big day. Tailoring: Jack, one of the employees, stopped what he was doing when I came in without an appointment and attended me very quickly. He was able to give me feedback as to how much bulk of fabric to take off to ensure a quality fit for my wedding weekend. Made the alternations fit me on the first attempt. He took good attention to detail on the top and bottom to ensure a good clean fit. Turn around time was about two weeks for this. Total cost was $170 for my work but I had a lot done. Getting a suit off a fast fashion website and getting tailoring done, you can have a custom suit for around $250, which is not bad at all. The dry cleaning for two suits and a shirt was $57 total. Considering my wedding was in Mexico and I sweat a lot in them I brought them to the store with plenty of stains. When I got them back they were totally spotless, particularly around the collar and cuffs. Overall good work by Crown Cleaners. I would come back for more alterations. read more

TL/DR: THEY RIPPED MY PANTS, BLAMED IT ON ME , AND THEN THE OWNER CUSSED ME OUT. AVOID THIS PLACE. I got my suit dry cleaned here last week and when I opened it up at home I found a couple of rips in the back of my pants that weren't there when I dropped them off. When I called in and told them about it the first thing the owner did was deny that it was their fault. The first excuse he gave me was that they have never ripped anyones clothing, ever. And that it was not possible for them to rip anyones clothing. He proceeded to be very rude to me over the phone and do nothing but deny that it was even possible, so I decided to go down to their shop and show him. When I got there he looked into their system to see if they had reported any damage when I had dropped them off, which they didn't find because there wasn't any. In fact, when I initially dropped off my suit he went over my whole thing to mark any stains with red tape. The rips are very noticeable and right on the butt area, so I'm certain that either he or I would have seen it when he was going over it. So he gave me my money back for the cleaning (without reimbursement for the damaged pants) and continued to deny accountability. I wasn't accepting his gaslighting which upset him so he proceeded to cuss me out. (I have a clear audio recording of the entire interaction) Excuses he gave me 1. I can't check every piece of the suit when it comes in. - He did check my suit when it came in, I was standing right there as he did it. The rip is in an obvious spot and easy to see, there is no way both of us would have missed it. 2. We have never ripped anything, ever. We can't rip anything here. - Crazy for obvious reasons 3. This rip is 5 years old (this is the one he kept repeating) - I've gotten this suit dry cleaned there 3 times in the last year and they have no record of it having a rip any of the times. If they did he would have said that when he looked into his computer. 4. You're not a man - Ok man, whatever you say Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Mistakes happen, and that's fine, but the level of excuses was crazy right from the start. It's clear that if something ends up happening to your stuff, they will just gaslight you. read more

Horrible experience, the worst I've ever had at a business. The owner is unprofessional and rude! She faded all 3 of my work pants that cost me over $100 and said I was insane for telling her she did. She also charged me over $100 to hem a dress, which is completely over priced. She didn't even press the dress. When I voiced my concerns she screamed at me and tried to pin the other customers in the store against me. It was so awkward and not the way any business owner should treat their customers. Her store is also really messy and full of crap there is barley any floor space. Probably a safety hazard. Do not come here. There are 3 other dry cleaners in the village to chose from. I still cringe when I drive by. Your negative and accusatory response to my review solidifies my experience of your customer service. Just so the facts are straight, I used a 20% 'check in' offer on Yelp. That you were hesitant to honer as you stated, "you never put that on there and Yelp are crooks". However you did honer it. As for the dry cleaning you provided $5 off, not free. Maybe use the feedback as a teachable moment versus pointing the finger outward. read more

Well, it's been 1 month since my review. I was so hopeful that Crown would find my missing dress shirt, but alas, it's not going to happen. Note: the owner is not on site so it's impossible to talk to management about problems. __________ This place used to be pretty good, but the new owner looks haggard all the time and they overcharge a lot, marking items as "fancy" when they're basic dry clean only. I am surprised to see the negative reviews about Crown Cleaners. I've been using them for several years and have never had problems. That said, I also don't go there too often to have my clothes cleaned --- maybe only 4 times in a year, since I try not to buy too much stuff that needs to be dry-cleaned. And the clothes I've had them clean -- slacks, blazers -- don't require any TLC. What I do like, though, is that when I get my clothes back they smell pretty fresh. When I"ve gotten my clothes back from other dry cleaners, they often smell like cleaning fluid and have to be aired out for several days. I have used Crown Cleaners quite often for clothes alterations and am very satisfied. They have done everything from a simple pants hem to a major alteration on a favorite shirt that was too large. Mona is gone. Sold the business? Jack, the new person behind the counter, says only that she is taking time away for health reasons. Unfortunately, Mona's customer care has gone as well. I stopped in to pick up my dry clothing and someone else had picked up my clothes. Jack says they used my name and/or phone number. Sounds unlikely. I have the claim ticket. Jack said he is working on finding my clothes but I am not feeling confident. Never had this happen. My recommendation? Find a different dry cleaner. read more

They said they couldn't cancel my credit card charge which I found out from my bank that was a lie. They also lied about how many items they actually cleaned. One of my suits is badly damaged. wish I could give zero stars. dropped some stuff off... they do 'green cleaning' which is cool, cause you can drop off all your hangers and they'll reuse them, and they don't use plastic bags... but that's about as good as the whole experience got. came back for our first drop off, and they 'repaired' two of my fiance's sweaters to the tune of $24. That would have been great, but there was nothing wrong with them to begin with, we never asked them to do any repair work, and after thouroughly inspecting the garments even the staff there could not find where work had been done. She just passed it off as 'Oh, it must have been a hole in the arm pit, so we fixed it!' ... After complaints, we got nothing for it but stern looks and a guilt trip like we should be 'oh so thankful' for her catching the holes and fixing them. So... whammy, no more business for them. Next was to drop off the big green bag they gave us to transport all our garments, and for which we gave them a $20 deposit. So I drop that off and they can't give me the deposit back... we have to use 'store credit' of $20... meaning we drop something off to be pressed and they'll probably charge $20 for some crap they did, but cannot prove they did... this place seems criminal. Never going back. ever. In fact, I'll probably tell everyone I know and some people that I don't know that these assholes are terrible. read more

Unbelievably bad customer service. I have only dealt with a female who told me she was the owner, but I doubt that. My jacket was completely destroyed. This person told me " you're taking up too much of my time" when I asked how it could be remedied. She curtly asked me to step aside so she could help another customer. I asked if she heard of Yelp and she said "Yelp is for losers". The Crown Cleaners of old is gone and the convenient on-site parking isn't worth having to suffer her arrogance and contempt. It might be acceptable if no problems arise, but if they do, expect an attitude and response that is beyond belief. Her attitude and service warrants a complete boycott. Other cleaners are a block away on Mt. Blvd across from Lucky's as well as those by the upper Safeway lot. Crown Cleaners should be enshrouded with cobwebs. read more

We were a long time customer of Crown Cleaners because they were so conveniently located. When we would drop off shirts, they would always return at least 50% of the shirts with wrinkles pressed into the fabric. I hate that. I get these shirts professionally pressed for a reason. They also lost a pair of pants. I'm normally a size 34. They gave me a similar pair of pants size 38. When I went back to return the pants, they told me that these were my pants. I asked them how that could be since all of my other pants are either 33 or 34, not 38. I also said that since these pants look identical to mine, there is probably another person out there with my pants thinking, I'm a size 38, not a 34. I asked if they could ask any of their other customers. After three months nothing. We also got one of their fancy green bags. When we finally decided to move to Thornhill cleaners (they've done a great job so far), we tried to return the green bag. Crown cleaners said that they can only do store credit, or credit our credit card. We said fine, credit our credit card. They ended up charging us for the bag twice instead of crediting us. Now they tell us that they've never credited anyone in their history on the credit card machine and they don't know how. Someone is coming by next week to show them how to do it. I have never written a negative review on yelp before but I have to do this to protect other customers from Crown Cleaners. My experience with the staff (who are part-owners) at Crown Cleaners has been the worst customer service experience in my entire life! I took my wedding dress to Crown Cleaners to have it cleaned and lightly altered - it had some small sweat stains from dancing on the side of the dress and the ribbon that holds the bustle needed to be repaired. When I returned to pick it up, they had not done the alteration correctly and the Italian silk material had large pressed-in creases in the bottom half of the dress. There were also brand new dirt stains on the front of the dress. When I questioned them about the very prominent creases they told me the material had come that way...they were very rude - their policy seems to be to deny wrongdoing and blame the manufacturer and/or the customer. They did agree that the "new stains" had not been there before and offered to have the dress cleaned again. BIG MISTAKE on my part. When I went to pick the dress up the second time the material looked discolored and damaged. It lost all of its luster and original weight. It was a stiff bright white flattering silk beforehand and now looked grayish and limp. When mentioning it to the lady (part-owner) she again told me the material was like that to begin with..then when I took the dress home and tried it on, I was shocked to discover it had shrunk about 4 inches, the boning around the top of the dress was almost poking out of it, and it no longer fit how it used too. It is 100% clear that is has been wet washed - NOT dry cleaned. Crown Cleaners asked that I come in and try on the dress for them. They agreed it has shrunk but denied that it was their fault. The owner went so far as to LAUGH at me while I was crying standing in front of her in my shrunken wedding dress. I was horrified at her response and how she handled this situation. If you are considering taking any item of clothing that you care about to Crown Cleaners, I would suggest going around the corner to "Quality Cleaners" and if you have a wedding dress, I urge you to do extensive research on the cleaner you choose. I made a mistake you can only make once. My $3,000 custom made dress that I planned to save for my future children and family has been destroyed. And they won't even refund me for the cleaning! $150 means more to them than keeping customers happy. read more

This is the best dry cleaning business, hands down. The owners are responsive, easy to talk to, professional. Recently I had a situation where I had given them my dry cleaning and I had to pick it up by Friday , as I was traveling abroad for a week. Unfortunately, I came back from work late and they were already closed. As the following day was a Saturday and I had to catch an early flight, I panicked!! All my suits, shirts and ties were with Crown Cleaners!!!! I was able to come in contact with them. Mona, the owner met me at 7:00 am on a Saturday (three hours before she was supposed to open her store) and gave me my clothes. She really saved me from a major problem!
