I wanted to make them special by getting them engraved with their names on each of the bracelets. I called Laser Mark's and I spoke to Jacob who let me know that the laser is flat and they may not be able to engrave a curved bracelet. However, he agreed to let me bring the bracelet cuffs into his shop so he could look at them to determine if it would be possible. He let me know that it may not work but he was willing to try engraving them. I told him that I was willing to risk it since the bracelets were inexpensive and I could purchase them again if it didn't turn out. I am so happy that I took the risk because the bracelets look so much better with the girls' names engraved on them and it makes the gifts more personal. Jacob took special care to put a black tape over the area on the bracelet that was to be engraved to test over the tape so I could see how the name would appear and give my approval before doing the actual engraving. It was a cool process and fun to participate in.

All the local engravers, laser and a few diamond drag, said they couldn't do it and they didn't know anyone who could. One suggested I try the bay area. I expanded my search and found Bay Stamp and Engraving. Talking to Paul on the phone, I knew I found the right place. He assured me he understood exactly what I needed and that he had the equipment and experience to do it. It was an hour drive to Vacaville, but worth it. Just when I was about to give up hope that anyone could carve into real brass and not just a thin sheet, Bay Stamp got the job done exactly the way I wanted, even texting me pics of alternate font ideas (which I utilized).

We'll i broughted to my other jeweler and they took it apart and realized there is some kind of paper underneath to make to opal shine more plus they confirmed it is not crack and they are repairing it for me otherwise the ring was just ruined. Plus, tthey plan to close up thd little hole that was on the bottom of the ring so no dirt or water will go into it. Additionally they will ensure it is completely sealed on the edges since the opal is bezel. I will not recommended this place any more to friends as the expertise is no longer there. Plus I am surprised there was a piece of paper to make the opal shine more and there should never be a small hole to let in dirt and not able to clean at home.
