I came to this location after the Chelsea location was sold out of the Beetlejuice Afterlife cake. The line was wrapped around the corner and I waited for 2 hours in line as they were backed up & overwhelmed with orders. Not everybody was there for the Beetlejuice cake but for cookies in general. This was my first time at Crumbl because in passing there has always been a line but I had to try the afterlife cake as Beetlejuice is my favorite movies and I just came from seeing the sequel. I also bought the banana bread which was also good but I was highly impressed with the chocolate afterlife cake. It tasted like an Oreo muffin which is one of my favorite snacks. Me, my sister, and cousin went to crumbl to try the new circus themed lineup which look delicious however when we tried them it was not what we expected. Before we even ordered there was a huge crowd the register was broken and we had to wait 20 minutes to pay in cash, the workers were rude and they even ran out of the fried Oreo cookie that's exclusive to the lineup which was disappointing. After dinner we decided to stop in this spot for some of the infamous cookies. I was excited because of the mixed reviews on social media. My friend who loves their cookies said we would like them. It was a long line when we arrived and we all cramped inside to get at full the cold. I was happy because it gave me an opportunity to decide what I wanted. The bank area where staff was making and preparing cookies looked a little chaotic but they were moving fast. If you want a good snickerdoodle, go to Insomnia. For a good chocolate chip cookie, literally ANY coffee shop is better - my personal favorite is Culture Espresso. You're at the front of the cash register and no one is attending to you. It was overly sweet without any real flavor besides just sugar. I neither taste any banana or toffee flavor. The cookie itself is very soft almost like it's underbaked. I took one bite and couldn't finish the rest. I put the rest in the fridge and will give it another try chilled. Overall: quite disappointed with the crumbl cookie but it might very well be the flavor I picked. I was able to try the lemon poppy flavor previously and that was quite delicious. We've all seen crumbl on social media, so I finally decided it was my time to try it. This location is riddled with confused parents, preteens, disorganized staff, and sold out cookies. By the time I placed my order at 5:30 on a Wednesday, all the cookie flavors were sold out except for 3. It took about 30min to get my box of four. The cookies are good. The cake is soaked in the classic tres leches sauce and topped with Lotus Biscoff cookie butter and cookie pieces. This changed the entire flavor profile for the better! It didn't just taste "sweet" like the regular Tres Leches Cake but actually had a lightly spiced, gingerbread flavor that went so well with the moist cake. Let me be the one to tell you, the people on TikTok are liars! I kept seeing raving reviews with some creators comparing these cookies to the likes of Levain's (criminal). Upon arrival everything displayed appears lackluster. The shop itself is basic, all white, stainless steel, with an iPad ordering station making the overall ambiance stale. The cookies displayed looked like a low quality imitation of the ones shown online or in pictures but i tried to remain optimistic. The taste however was cheap, unlike the price which ran me about $10 for 2 cookies. And if they were Levain's quality I would've been willing to overlook it, but these cookies were such a disappointment I immediately regretted my purchase. The cookies were hard on the edges and chewy in the center. I tried the lava cake & graham cracker, with the lava cake being the superior of the 2. If you like cupcakes from places like Georgetown or Magnolia you will probably like it!
