Our hotel staff recommended this restaurant so we gave it a try as it seemed to meet our needs. So let's get to it! Pros: Food is very good. Staff is very nice. Decor is lovely. Menu options are great and their sampler menu is a great value and delicious. Outside seating area is lovely though they neglected to turn on the bistro lights after dusk. (small thing but apt management should catch that.) At first, they had people spaced out very well and it was comfortable dining inside....for a moment. Cons: The waiter had his own definition of what a face mask is for and it became more of a chin/bottom lip strap. For as long as the pandemic is relevant, we won't continue to patronize restaurants who have not made if CRYSTAL clear to their staff that their mouth and nose are to be all the way covered for the time they are with the diners. He was a younger guy so he has that invulnerability of the 20 something crowd and kept moving his mask up toward his nose (patrons really don't want to see waiters touching their mask and then later serve their plate) however it's quite obvious that this management has not made it clear that "no face cover/no work" is going to be the policy here. If a waiter's nose or mouth is visible, the restaurant industry is not the place for you right now. Inside tables were sticky. This is a deal breaker for me. The mind starts going a little crazy trying to identify the source of the "stick" and the dining experience is ruined. Restaurants have little excuse (especially during COVID) to seat a sticky table. The table next to us...same thing...clearly the same ubiquitous rag was used to clean both. Once seated, it did get busy and despite having an entirely separate and empty dining room to seat, they decided to squeeze everyone into the front dining room. Poor management decision as tourists are just now coming back to town and still cautious about eating out. Give them some space. It got entirely too "poeple-y" in there so we asked to move outside as it had thankfully cooled off a bit. This was actually lovely for a short time until about dusk. After that, we were approached at different times by two different homeless people looking for food or money. One of them was quite aggressive and yelled profanities quite angrily at us when we asked him to leave and threw garbage in front of our table. Now...these are hard times, I am not without sympathy, and when at home, we do our part to help our those in need...and we always have. However this man screaming profanities at us quite aggressively was scary and from that moment on, I was done. I wanted to get to the car and leave because we had already seen this man earlier in the late afternoon chasing another man down the street and threatening him as well. My overall point is this, while it was lovely to have the porch seating to ourselves, the experience was completely ruined due to the stressful nature of the encounter. The waiter acknowledged it as if it was not an uncommon encounter. We actually got our dessert to go and really had no where to eat it so that was wasted. It would be nice to see the restaurant work with the city or take other measures to ensure that outdoor diners are safe. If you are eating outside with other patrons or a large group, you'll probably be fine...safety in numbers. Management was made aware as we quickly came inside and he apologized and offered us shots of something which was nice but I do not drink and we were already standing there with our packed up food. If they work on a cleaner and safer environment with waiters who respect the moment that we are in relative to mask wearing and develop a protocol to ensure tables are property cleaned, this would be easy five stars. read more

Went here for a date night with my boyfriend last night. We paid a little over $100 for one drink (French75), one appetizer (pimiento cheese), one side (mashed potatoes), and two entrees (one was Mahi Mahi, and the other was the Duck Fettucine). Presentation was spectacular- the plate could not have been more beautiful. You get a pretty good portion size, and the flavors seemed to be well-paired. I included pictures for reference. Unfortunately, the food was oily. The mashed potatoes were very salty. The entrees were missing the "wow" factor for $35. Can't recommend this place enough. Our experience here was top notch. Had the crab cake, dates and Brie to start. Can't pick one over the other. Meatiest crab cake I've ever had and the flavor was outstanding. The bacon wrapped dates had just the right amount of sweet and salty. The Brie was cooked perfectly and was paired with three options for spreading. The fish of the day was grouper and as it's one of my favorite fish to have fresh I just had to order it. It did not disappoint. Emory had explained the dish perfectly so I was not surprised to taste the heat. All the food was presented like works of art. One of the best dining experiences we have had in the Melbourne area. In Old Town Melbourne this street side venue is fresh, clean and crisp in it's decor with an upscale vibe. The cheese board appy was an excellent share plate for the four of us although we had to ask for extra crostini bread(for which they charged us a dollar)! Our entrees were artfully presented: catch of the day ( lightly breaded golden tile fish), duck breast, and crispy skin salmon. The entrees and service were muy bueno. Drinks were a little pricey even for run of the mill options like Pinot Grigio and a vodka martini from the well. Dessert and espresso were good including a strawberry shortcake that had bacon in the biscuit! So I recommend it for those who have the cash to burn for it is a $$$ kind of place and the entrees though very good are not large enough to share. We'll return when feelin flush! read more

Great experience! The bartender, who's name I can't remember was top notch. She was patient & gave me recommendations. She didn't mind explaining the ingredients or answering my questions. Their happy hour is nice. $5 & $7 drinks & she made my drinks correctly. I can be picky bc I don't like to drink my calories. (Not difficult but picky :) The happy hour food menu could offer a few more dishes. I enjoyed the crab cake, it was flavorful with a nice texture. I just wish there was more, it was gone in like 3 bites. The hummus was my fav. I love that it came with asparagus & fried cauliflower instead of the usual carrots & celery. So delicious, a lot of flavor in the hummus. I'm def a fan! The Thai slaw, I couldn't get past the candied ginger mixed throughout. I'm pretty sure I could've excluded the coconut they put on top. The ambiance nice kind of French rustic. Our server was excellent. The food had " gourmet " presentation but.... Unfortunately the food per se was not up to the price. My duck was way too spicy...meaning that all you could taste was the hotness ... it could have been wings you would not know the difference. First time I have ever been to Crush XI and I am so glad I tried it! The restaurant is way bigger than I thought it was but because it has multiple rooms it still feels quaint. The service was good, not amazing but we got everything in a reasonable amount of time. We grab lunch on a Saturday and had no wait in getting a table. I ordered the sangria which was very good and the perfect amount of sweet. For food I ordered the California chicken BLT which was very good! For a grilled chicken sandwich it had lots of flavor, and they used great bread. I also ordered the Thai coleslaw which also had amazing flavor! The peanut sauce gave mixed with the texture of the slaw was a perfect combination. I would however not recommend pairing the coleslaw with the California BLT, the two both have great flavor they just don't have flavors that complement each other. All in all I will be back and next time I will be trying the fries with the sandwich! read more

We had tried to grab dinner there two years ago when visiting the area but the line was out the door so we made sure to make reservations this time around. For the food, we start with the dates, not my normal choice but we're highly recommended, and they didn't disappoint. We were meeting friends in Downtown Melbourne and had heard good things about Crush XI and we were able to make a reservation last minute which worked out since we we got there it started to pick up quick. The first thing that caught me off guard was how big this place is. It was made of multiple different rooms so if your party doesn't come in all together you might have a hard time finding them. Our waiter quickly came and got us drinks. I was surprised by the amount of beers and bourbon they had and I always enjoy checking those menus out which is nice. For my meal I went with the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. The fact the it comes with Pimento Cheese on it was the selling point for me. For my side I just went with the fries. I was considering the Peanut Thai Slaw but once I heard my wife was getting it I know I would be able to get at least a bite. Our food came out quickly and my Chicken Sandwich looked great. If even had 2 pieces for fried chicken on it. I will say with Pimento Cheese and Pickled Cherry Jam it can be a little messy but the flavor is all there. Everyone really enjoyed their food. our 2 friends bother got burgers which they loved and Ashley also raved about her as she called it "Healthy" California Chicken BLT. The duck, when asked, is cooked to medium rare but what I was served was a thin outside sear. The kitchen staff were new so our meals came out very staggered. That duck was vile with a horrible texture so I appreciated them offering to take it back and cook it further, but I didn't want to be rude to my family waiting to dig in. I haven't heard of cooking poultry to temperatures in a range like beef is before and I'm unsure if was medium rare at that. I'm rating this place four stars because of the honesty about the new cook staff, offer to cook the meat to a normal temperature, and free dessert. The other party members' dishes as were the appetizers and drinks. Maybe I'm low-class and don't know how duck is prepared but the point is they did accommodate that. The food and service are exceptional! The ambiance is welcoming and warm. We enjoyed our meals. The posted hours for Sunday are not accurate. This restaurant closes for a couple of hours when they switch from the brunch menu to the dinner menu. (We don't know if the same is true on Saturday.) The burger was amazing, however, the fries were not very good (we actually expected them to be fresh cut fries since everything else is made from scratch). The grits are so creamy and delicious. The service here truly is impeccable, and you love when the staff is friends with each other. I always had a fantastic experience here, and you will too. Excellent upscale American gastropub style restaurant. Quaint little place with cute old furniture about. Reminds me of dining in Great Aunt Gertrude's Victorian dining room (in a good way!). Look into their craft cocktail menu and get yourself a nice drink. I personally got the lamb meat ball (singular) that had a nice Persian flare to it. The roast duck breast was excellent, not too chewy and roast just right with a pink middle. I also recommend the street corn (elote in a skillet instead of a cup). The house speciality side dish is apparently the duck fat fries. Look into those as well. I skipped the dessert menu personally but it looked amazing! Just an FYI this place is only street parking and in the evenings (especially) weekends you may be parking a few blocks away and walking. Not the end of the world with the nice Florida weather, and you can always find a free spot, it just might be 2-6 blocks away.. read more

We truly enjoyed our first experience at Crush, our server was very friendly and recommended a glass of the Round Pond Cabernet Sauvignon which ended up being a great choice! We started with the duck fat seared scallops and they were absolutely delicious, we then went on to having the shrimp orecchiette (which is spicy but a must if you enjoy a nice kick), the smoked duck fettuccine which must of been good because my fiancé finished every bite and shared a side of the Brussels sprouts and Thai peanut slaw (both delicious).
