I've always liked Crushed Red and was sad that it is listed with only 3 stars. It's a great place to grab a quick salad or flatbread or great for a healthier lunch with a friend. They don't limit their salad toppings which is definitely a plus. They let me sample the goddess dressing (recommend) and have always had great customer service. Order at the counter style. Cost a lot for a little. I purchased the Two for You which was folded flat bread plus mini salad. I paid $15 for this with a small drink (tea). I essentially got one taco and a 4oz salad. Get more for your money at a Panera. Taste wise: it was okay. Something I could make at home. Went there for the 'make your own salad' option but again - pricey. Environment was quaint and nice. Nothing spectacular about it and again, probably wouldn't go again based on price points and small portions. read more

Husband and I landed here because McLain's closes at 2 on Sundays. First impression: seemed like a fair replacement for a farm-to-table restaurant. The menu definitely offers a variety of combinations that were appealing to us. Second impression: the setup for the line suffers from what I call the "Pie Five Problem" which is to say that you order one thing at the start, then another thing elsewhere in the line, and beware of the customers who hold up the middle with the custom built stuff. It was confusing with only 4 people in line. I can't imagine it's anything less than frustrating for a customer during a rush. Third impression: it took 25 minutes for the pizza and soup to be delivered with only 1 pizza order ahead of us. The salad was delicious but the bowls are dumb. Why change the shape of something that is shaped that way for good reason? The pizza was delicious, if a little skimpy on the mushrooms. And both of our soups were good (and fortunately in a normal bowl). Overall: we will give this place another go in the future. Maybe they just need to find their jive? The food is worth coming back for (a little on the pricey side but they do use good ingredients) and we did appreciate the various sizing options. We just needed some hold-overs for dinner and the mini/cup portions were a good size for what we wanted. read more

Had a fantastic dinner at Crushed Red. I ordered the Chipotle Barbecue Chicken pizza and the flavor was absolutely amazing! The pizza was the perfect size, so you aren't stuffed and there is no need to take pizza home. I'm definitely coming back here more often and trying more of what they have to offer! Okay it is a bit pricey...I think it was $32.00 for our flatbread pizza and 2 salads (water to drink) before tip. However...yum! We both had the "This Pear is on Fire" salad. It was wonderful with spicy pear cubes that did put our mouth on fire, creamy goat cheese, avocado, bacon and candied walnuts plus other kinds of goodness as well. The flat bread pizza.was the Yukon Gold steakhouse.The flatbread itsself was like a very tender thin focaccia. At noon, it was a noisy place...but it gets points for having real glass glasses and cloth napkins. Their salads come in three sizes and it is not clear which size the menu price is for. I had my first CR experience, and it was meh. I went in on a Sunday afternoon, it was slow of customers and slow of service. The food was okay, I ordered one of the new bowls. They were out of the salad base even though it was only like noon but I was able to do another option. The price was a bit high for the flavor (or lack thereof). I didn't order a drink, but appreciated that they had alcoholic and non-alcoholic options if I wanted. Overall, nothing great, nothing terrible. If you're looking to not overthink food, maybe check them out. Just don't expect much. read more

My husband and I had dinner last night and it was great! All the food is organic and fresh made. I think it can be a little confusing the first time you visit because it's a new and different approach. It has 100% flexibility in what you include in your salads and flat breads. I love the portion sizes too. Wine and beer are available. It's perfect upscale casual. The service staff is really helpful too. My husband had Crushed Red pop up as a suggestion a few days ago and we finally had a chance to stop in. I am personally glad we did. We were greeted at the register and after answering that, yes, it was our first visit, the hostess explained how the place works. We ordered a hot "shareable" and moved down to order salads. They have a lot of salads to choose from or you can create your own from a long list of ingredients. They serve wine which I thought was a little weird but perfectly fine. There's also the usual soda and water options, and some unique tea flavors. On to what we tried. Our shareable was warm goat cheese, with cranberries and almonds, served with crackers and flatbread. It was really good. Something different. My husband ordered the Tunapalooza, no subs or adds. The usual greens with olives, goat cheese, potatoes and seared tuna. He said it was ok but he's going to try something else next time. I had the Chipotle chicken salad. Warm chipotle chicken on the usual greens with tortilla strips and pepper jack cheese. I will order this again. We each had small salads and walked out satisfied and brought home about half of the shareable. They mix and chop the salads in front of you. I have been to Crushed Red several times and have always been pleased with the menu and the food itself. However, the staff needs a lesson or two in basic customer service. The majority of employees act irritated to be there and like the customers are a bother. There's also a prevailing sense of confusion and disorganization even when it's not busy. I've taken to ordering and paying online. If you're lucky, your carryout order will be ready and waiting on a shelf inside the door so you don't even have to interact with whatever crew of surly teens is on the schedule that night. Of course despite the marginal customer service, they still encourage you to tip by adding a variety of percentages to choose from on the checkout screen. Luckily there's a ""no tip" option until the staff can be at least somewhat pleasant or polite. read more

This place has great fresh salads & protein bowls. Their soup is delicious too. I haven't had their pizza but it should be good because all the toppings will be fresh! The place is clean. You have linen napkins & real silverware. Very different for a "fast food/chain type" of restaurant. If you want wine or beer, no worries-they'll hook you up. Unorganized order process. Staff seemed in another world, even the Manager who instead of greeting us to pay, remained on his cell phone, turned his back to us, and motioned for another employee to ring us up. The food was very good, but a bit gorgonzola overpowering. Worse thing, and I can't believe this passed inspection, was they serve their pizzas, that are not sliced thru on these small rectangular pans...which results in getting pieces of pizza on the table top. Really terrific salads and very fresh! Service can be really spotty and sometimes they don't get carryout salads 100% right but their This Pear is on Fire salad is beyond. So yummy but definitely suggest doing half habanero honey mustard and half regular honey mustard because it truly is on fire. Super yummy though. I have yet to get one of their flatbreads so I can't comment on that yet but I look forward to trying them. Ive only been here twice but really liked the salads both times. It's difficult to find a place to get healthy foods at a decent price. This place has excellent salads! I've tried the Tunapalooza Salad and the Health Nut Salad. Both were very good! I did not like the warm goat cheese dip with almonds and cranberries nor did I like the bread that came with it but I feel like maybe it's an acquired taste. One of those places that I wanted to like more. I went to this place during one of the first weeks it opened which may explain some of the chaos. The line went really slow and the woman at the cash register was rude. There was lots to choose from on the menu including the option to create your own salad. I got the BBQ chicken salad and my friend got the farmers salad. They were pretty good but the chicken was weird and rubbery. Maybe next time I'll give the flatbread a chance. There are two kinds of foodies -- those who love to watch their food being made and those who, well, meh. I'm meh. It's like that ice creamery that rolls and folds its creations before plopping it into a ball atop your sugar cone. Blah. Who cares. Same here. You watch. Your salad. Being made. I had the Wild Spring Salmon salad and a flavored iced tea. Good, but a little moist and muddled. This is not my first Crushed Red experience; I have eaten several times at one in Kirkwood, Missouri. With today's dish, taste and texture were disappointing. I should be able to taste the almonds, the goat cheese and the sesame ginger dressing, but you don't, not really. It's a general overall taste with a slightly mushy and wilted texture, I'm afraid; no snap to the lettuce, very little crunch, and so-so taste. Nothing spikes the buds. Not offensive just well, okay. No COVID safety precautions AT ALL! Showing customers that their health and safety are important is a priority for me. Not a single worker was wearing a mask while they were leaning directly over the salad ingredients and brushing past each other to get around. There were no social distancing protocols for the guests either. It is a good concept for a salad place but my salad was TERRIBLE. I hate giving bad reviews but this place was too disappointing. Like others have said, the line is an unusually long wait. I got a Cobb salad and margherita pizza. Salad was mushy, flavors did not mix well, mostly lettuce and chicken tasted cheap. Pizza had ZERO salt and flavor. The crust was coated in cornmeal and a small hair lay below the cheese. I have had the pleasure of dining at Crushed Red on two occasions in the past few months. If you're looking for a good wholesome salad with fresh ingredients, I strongly recommend giving them a try. Their menu selections are creative and tasty. You also can make substitutions and additions as desired to nearly customize to your liking. We ordered 3 salads today. I even called to verify if gorgonzola cheese on a salad. The girl who answered said "isn't it the same"? as bleu cheese. Well I am not sure but on the order I specifically unchecked the box for the gorgonzola cheese and it was still on the salad. This is disappointing. We've tried a few salads, a few pizzas, and an appetizer. We like the fresh and healthy ingredients, it's not cheap, but you at least get decent food for the money. I really want to like this place. The only other specialty salad place nearby is the Mixx and it would be nice to have other options. And for the most part, it delivers. The salad vegetables are consistently fresh and kept at the correct temperature. However, the meat should be higher quality for the price. Having had salads with both steak and chicken, both were slightly chewy and clearly cooked en masse when it wouldn't be difficult to cook fresh considering there is cooking equipment for flatbreads and appetizers. In addition, none of the salads are particularly original for a spot that hangs its hat on salad. There are the standard chicken, steak, and salmon salads you can find at any chain restaurant and they don't do much to add their spin. The shareables are decent. The sundried tomato spread didn't have much flavor other than the tomato, even though it should have had Parmesan and herbs. The consistency was on the watery side for a spread. The fresh bread and lavasch were good served warm. Overall, this is a decent option if you're looking for something healthier than the burger or sandwich route but it has room for improvement. read more
