    GF deep dish cheese pizza.
    Marie C.

I read so many reviews about the gluten free crust that I was excited to try it. While I was happy to finally have a deep dish pizza I found the crust very tough. I had a hard time cutting through it. The cheese and sauce were great. The crust was just a little thin and tough. The non gf pizza looked great. I may try this place again and get the regular GF pizza and see if that is better.

I wasn't a fan of their thin crust pizza, but really enjoy the deep dish here. I typically get the Sawzall, and I really enjoy it. I feel like there is a good ratio of bread, sauce, toppings, and cheese. They can get pretty busy and the pizza takes longer to cook for the deep dish so be prepared to wait or order in advance. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

Not worth it nor the service if you can say there was any!

We are from out of town and didn't realize they were going to close in half an hour. We asked if they had time to make a deep dish and a small regular pizza for my daughter. They said yes. We kept getting up asking for a refill, where were the appetizers, napkins, etc. The staff was cleaning up and forgot that we were there and were unprofessional. The amount of thick cut potatoes was a joke. The pizza was warm and not hot. The small sausage pizza that we asked several times about still hadn't come out. When it did the waitress said they forgot to make it and that's what took long and then there was a hair in it and my daughter didn't want it and don't blame her. No point to complain since they had comped her pizza since they forgot about. Nothing remarkable about the pizza and wings. Unpleasant experience

This was not my favorite pizza place I have eaten at. It's conveniently located within downtown Holland. There's abundant parking for the downtown area. They put some tables out on the street in front for outdoor dining. That was nice! The food was okay. We got a basic Hawaiian pizza. It's our favorite. They did have onions listed as a basic ingredient for the pizza. I've never heard of Hawaiian pizza without onions so I opted to not have those. The wait was LONG for the pizza to come out. It was not prime dinner time either. We got there at 4pm. After waiting what felt like 30 mins, they brought out the wrong pizza. It had onions on it! So we began to wait another 30 mins for the correct pizza. Price was okay but the overall experience ruined it for me. I would just get hungry howies delivered!!! Pros: lots of parking, good location, nice staff Cons: wrong pizza, steep price ( would overlook that of everything else was good) , and long wait times.

After being blown away by the excellent pizza at Crust 54, we went back a week later. No changes, outstanding in every area. The real reason for this update is because of my disappointment in the picture of the pizza I posted in my original review. In no way does it even come close in capturing the majesty of what is created here. I took great care not to start eating before I took another picture.

    Chicago deep dish supreme.

Their pizza is sooo good. They have an excellent Gluten and Dairy free pizza. And it's only $16 for this 12 inch pizza!

Ordered ( to go) a chicago-style pizza on Saturday, May 1. It was so burnt that it was inedible. We had to throw in the garbage.

Their menu has a massive selection of GF and GFO items clearly marked, which is always a relief. We visited on a Sunday and joined the online waitlist ahead of time. The wait was about an hour, but as soon as we checked in, we were seated within a few minutes. The inside of the restaurant is really cool with a great retro, 50s-style vibe. The service started a bit slow, as the server took a while to greet us, though she was very polite and apologized for the delay. I started with a fresh-squeezed orange juice, which was absolutely to die for, even if it was a bit pricey at around $7. When ordering the Eggs Benedict, I made sure to tell the server I have Celiac disease. She was very knowledgeable and informed me that they could sub the regular English muffin for a gluten-free one, or use white or whole wheat gluten-free bread. When I asked about the sides, she reassured me that both the hash browns and home-style potatoes are prepared on a dedicated allergy cooktop, so I safely opted for the hash browns. The food did take quite a long time to come out. When it arrived, there were a few inaccuracies--my Benedict came with corned beef instead of ham, and it was served on the gluten-free white toast rather than the GF English muffin I had requested. However, it did come out with a reassuring allergy stick in the food, and because we were so hungry, I didn't question the mix-up. The food itself was excellent. Wrapping up the meal was incredibly convenient since you can pay with Apple Pay right from a QR code on the receipt, and our server even kindly asked if we wanted any drinks to go before we left. Overall, the Celiac protocols and dedicated allergy cooking spaces make this an incredibly safe place to eat. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait, and double-check your plate when it arrives!

As someone with celiac disease, eating out can be stressful, but when I informed our server, he immediately reassured me that they take cross-contamination seriously and ensure a safe meal. To drink, I started with the kiwi pineapple margarita--they offer multiple types of rims, and I went with sugar, which was delicious. The summer sangria also sounded amazing, but I stuck with the margarita since it was guaranteed gluten-free. For food, we shared the ricotta with gluten-free toast, and for my main, I had the Beyond Burger on a gluten-free bun with a side of chips that were confirmed to be safely gluten-free. Finding a place that is this accommodating, knowledgeable, and delicious is rare, and it made our trip so much better!

They also have a little shop on-site, which is a fun feature to check out! When I asked about the seasonal sangria, our server was incredibly knowledgeable. She explained that they make their vodka in-house and while it's gluten-free, it's not certified gluten-free, but their gin is certified. I really appreciated that level of transparency! Our server even asked if I had celiac disease, which immediately put me at ease. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which they brought out with gluten-free chips, explicitly announcing it as "gluten-free" when they set it down. Although it was busy, we were seated immediately. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside, which helped the wait. The menu is fairly short, but that wasn't an issue since there were still plenty of appealing options. I started with the Dragon's Milk Toasted Marshmallow drink. Based on the name, I expected something sweet, but it was much more bitter than anticipated. We also ordered the Hot Honey Pepperoni Pinwheels, and they were incredible. Crispy, flavorful, and easily one of the best appetizers I've had at a restaurant. I highly recommend giving them a try. For my meal, I got the Dixie Luau, their take on a Hawaiian pizza. It was excellent. The crust was the perfect thickness, and the toppings were generous. What really stood out was the pineapple, it tasted fresh and high quality compared to the canned pineapple that many places use. If the weather is nice, definitely ask to sit on the front patio. It was the perfect place to relax, enjoy the food, and do a little people-watching. The atmosphere was great, and I'd absolutely come back the next time I'm in the area.

Bowerman's on 8th is a love letter to the humble blueberry, written in the language of warm lattes, fresh pastries, and shelves overflowing with jars that seem to bottle summer itself. As someone with a dairy allergy, coffee shops can sometimes feel like places built for everyone else. But here there was kindness in the details--different milk options, thoughtful choices, and the feeling that everyone should be able to enjoy a good cup of coffee. Traveling from out of state, this was one of the places I circled on my map, hoping reality would match the stories. Somehow, it was even better. The blueberry latte was the kind of drink that slows time. Bright and refreshing, sweet without trying too hard, tasting like a morning walk through a Michigan orchard after the rain. Around me were cases filled with treats and shelves stacked with jams, syrups, and every blueberry creation imaginable, each one carrying a little piece of the region's soul. There is something beautiful about a place that chooses one simple thing and perfects it.
