    GF deep dish cheese pizza.
    Marie C.

I read so many reviews about the gluten free crust that I was excited to try it. While I was happy to finally have a deep dish pizza I found the crust very tough. I had a hard time cutting through it. The cheese and sauce were great. The crust was just a little thin and tough. The non gf pizza looked great. I may try this place again and get the regular GF pizza and see if that is better.

I wasn't a fan of their thin crust pizza, but really enjoy the deep dish here. I typically get the Sawzall, and I really enjoy it. I feel like there is a good ratio of bread, sauce, toppings, and cheese. They can get pretty busy and the pizza takes longer to cook for the deep dish so be prepared to wait or order in advance. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

This was not my favorite pizza place I have eaten at. It's conveniently located within downtown Holland. There's abundant parking for the downtown area. They put some tables out on the street in front for outdoor dining. That was nice! The food was okay. We got a basic Hawaiian pizza. It's our favorite. They did have onions listed as a basic ingredient for the pizza. I've never heard of Hawaiian pizza without onions so I opted to not have those. The wait was LONG for the pizza to come out. It was not prime dinner time either. We got there at 4pm. After waiting what felt like 30 mins, they brought out the wrong pizza. It had onions on it! So we began to wait another 30 mins for the correct pizza. Price was okay but the overall experience ruined it for me. I would just get hungry howies delivered!!! Pros: lots of parking, good location, nice staff Cons: wrong pizza, steep price ( would overlook that of everything else was good) , and long wait times.

After being blown away by the excellent pizza at Crust 54, we went back a week later. No changes, outstanding in every area. The real reason for this update is because of my disappointment in the picture of the pizza I posted in my original review. In no way does it even come close in capturing the majesty of what is created here. I took great care not to start eating before I took another picture.

Not worth it nor the service if you can say there was any!

We are from out of town and didn't realize they were going to close in half an hour. We asked if they had time to make a deep dish and a small regular pizza for my daughter. They said yes. We kept getting up asking for a refill, where were the appetizers, napkins, etc. The staff was cleaning up and forgot that we were there and were unprofessional. The amount of thick cut potatoes was a joke. The pizza was warm and not hot. The small sausage pizza that we asked several times about still hadn't come out. When it did the waitress said they forgot to make it and that's what took long and then there was a hair in it and my daughter didn't want it and don't blame her. No point to complain since they had comped her pizza since they forgot about. Nothing remarkable about the pizza and wings. Unpleasant experience

Good People. Good food. Not quite as good as what I get in Chicago, but still tasty. A bit over priced for sure.

We picked this restaurant because it seemed to have one of the nicest outdoor seating options amongst eateries downtown. We also chose it because of the several relatively unusual menu options and a decent number of veggie options (though some items, we were told, could not be customized, such as Brussels sprouts that could be fried only in tallow). I ordered the Harissa pasta. It is a vegetarian pasta with a creamy Harissa sauce, onions, tomatoes and cheese (parmesan?). It had a strange though not entirely unpleasant taste: it was simultaneously sour and savoury, with the tomatoes adding some sweetness. I could only eat about half because the flavours started to get overwhelming, and spent most of my time figuring out if I liked the dish or not (verdict: yes). My dining partner had the flounder, which they were very pleased with. Our server was enthusiastic though a little harried. Quick service overall. I am not sure if I recommend this place for its food. While the outdoor seating area is very pretty, with great atmosphere, the food itself is not spectacular. Overall, better than average experience, though it is unlikely that I will return.

Bowerman's on 8th is a love letter to the humble blueberry, written in the language of warm lattes, fresh pastries, and shelves overflowing with jars that seem to bottle summer itself. As someone with a dairy allergy, coffee shops can sometimes feel like places built for everyone else. But here there was kindness in the details--different milk options, thoughtful choices, and the feeling that everyone should be able to enjoy a good cup of coffee. Traveling from out of state, this was one of the places I circled on my map, hoping reality would match the stories. Somehow, it was even better. The blueberry latte was the kind of drink that slows time. Bright and refreshing, sweet without trying too hard, tasting like a morning walk through a Michigan orchard after the rain. Around me were cases filled with treats and shelves stacked with jams, syrups, and every blueberry creation imaginable, each one carrying a little piece of the region's soul. There is something beautiful about a place that chooses one simple thing and perfects it. Bowerman's does not merely sell coffee--it celebrates harvests, local traditions, and the quiet joy of gathering around a table. You leave with a warm cup in your hands, a bag of blueberry treasures under your arm and a feeling of satisfaction. Some places are worth the drive. Some are worth the hype. Bowerman's on 8th is both.

Further reading into the history of place, I found that this place has been around since the 1940s. A cool history and the curiosity for the long lines brought us to be one of those people standing in line one morning. First of all, I am slightly terrified of diners thinking the service would be bad but from the moment we were greeted to when we left the place, the atmosphere has been very welcoming and friendly. Our waitress sat us at a small booth close to the kitchen. I ordered coffee and their bird nest thinking... it should be fine, it's a bird nest, not a full blow whatever other huge breakfast plates they have! I was wrong. My husband ordered their famous hashbrown omelette that I felt could have fed an entire village! My bird nest came. My eyes got really big because honestly, it was the size of an eagles' nest. I apologized profusely for not finishing and since it was our last full day before moving on from Holland, I couldn't take the leftovers home. My husband felt the same way but he at least ate half of his food. To me, I think my food needed a bit more flavor but they have salt and pepper on the table. We noted that there seemed to be a lot of regulars or repeat customers. No doubt, this place is a very nostalgic place for a lot of people who have moved away or have visited here previously. To be honest, even though it was only our first visit, the people made us feel at home.
