when I was finishing eating I looked to the table next to mine and there was a cockroach! Then another cockroach came and it was crawling around in the table. The food they serve is always fresh and eveyrhting that they make there is delicous and makes my mouth wartery when I get there and the servers are nice and humorous. They seat you right away after buying your to stay food and it is really modern looking inside which I love and it is never too crowded with people. read more

Food is good on a Sunday and it was crowded. Other times i went it was ok, but this time i was surprised by how good it was. The sushi still tasteless, however. Wasabi running low and not replaced. Sushi running out and what was left didn't look appetizing. Tip jar by sushi. After second or third trip up, used plates remained on table longer than at first. so i like to see space on my plate and don't pile it high, which means i probably make more trips to the food than the average person. What i thought was funny was that i was getting cut off, or intersected, by employees refilling the food. almost like they would jump in front of me, which is kind of what they did. Probably not on purpose, though i guess it could be, if they thought i went up too much. Only 1 flavor of ice milk was available and it wasn't as good as last time. as we were leaving, a guy came over with a small tray with fortune cookies and i heard the word tip. He said it 3 times! The tray usually holds the check, but at this place you pay in advance. I still give it 4 stars because of the taste of the food. I disregard the shenanigans because the food tasted good. Is this the place for comments on tipping? Why not? You're really tipping the busboy , which isnt done at a restaurant. The server is tipped because they bring the food and have to listen to joe schmos health history and why he can't have salt in his foid. Then the server will cone back and get you anything else you need, and then come back and see if you want desert or more drinks. But here at the buffet, you've got the slop cart piled high rolling around, and you wonder if something could splatter on you when it goes into the cart. Didn't they used to bring the dishes to the sink station By hand? I don't tecall seeing slop carts. I would prefer to bring my dirty dish to the sink for a true do it yourself experience. This place is truly one of the best hidden gems in the east end! The renovation also makes this place a comfy spot to eat lunch or take your family to eat. The price for food ratio is amazing and the people working here are always the kindest and most caring people. I had surprised my grandma here for her birthday and the waitresses were nice enough to sing happy birthday, talk with her and wish her a happy birthday, and were attentive and kind the entire time. I truly hope the workers and owner of this place see success in every path they take. Kindness goes a long way nowadays. read more

Today due to there lack of customer service the manager was very rude. Told me I was the problem of a confrontation, the place was crowded and there was no order. I had followed an elderly person in the group and was bringing them to the table they had set aside for us. And the manager for no reason at all come to my face and accused me of being a problem. I had been there recently twice with family and friends and during the pandemic, the restaurant had been totally renovated in a more modern style. Towards the back of the restaurant there is a party room. The selections seem to be less than when I went there pre renovation. There is still a salad area, a desert area and two full aisles of hot food and a small sushi counter. The staff is accommodating upon entry and exiting and you pay before you eat and it being a buffet, you can eat as much as you want. They take your drink order upon arrival and you can get unlimited refills. No food can be taken out. The lunch is less expensive than dinner [dinner is more crowded] but the selections at dinner are more varied. It can be a filling meal. There is also an ice cream machine which usually only has one flavor [chocolate] but there are no toppings to add on. There is also fresh fruit for desert if you do not want the ice cream or various pastries or cookies offered. I would recommend and will return. read more

Best Lo Mein in Riverhead. Probably all of the North Fork. I take my Chinese food seriously and lo mein is no exception. I grew up around here having the best Chinese food you could ask for. I've watched the North Fork Chinese Food go downhill gradually then rapidly for years, so I try a lot of place and dishes to try to find anything decent. Each place has something they do great and not so great. When a lo mein craving hits I pick it up from here (even if I'm ordering from another place). The chicken lo mein is amazing, lots of big chunks of chicken. Would love to try the other kinds. Can't speak to much more than that as I haven't tried much else from their menu. Oh, they're the only place in town that does the good soup noodles. The homemade fried ones, not the packaged ones. That is important to me. I've only been to the buffet once and I don't like the sterile makeover. I much prefer an old school, Chinese buffet instead of a cafeteria so I stick with takeout. Absolutely horrible!! quality of food was definitely poor!! Many selections were cold, hard or just dried out from it sitting all day, no flavor and looked very artificial! The service was horrible as well. They took our plates when we weren't even done, never asked if we wanted a refill on our beverage and gave us the fortune cookies before we even entertained the dessert bar. Used to go here with a co worker years ago and while it was always crowded, the food was delish. Went last spring when my daughter came to visit and it was nasty and depressing. The tip is included in the final price as a service fee for getting your 1 drink as your responsible for anything more then that. I've been to many buffets on the island and this place is def not one of the best. Some of the food like the sesame chicken is really good, better than most buffets. The problem is the food isn't hot and some of it is tastes chilled because they are too cheap to keep the buffet table hot or the tables don't work. The plates have a chill to them and when you put food that's room temp or just above them on them the food is cold when you eat it. The sad part is the food seemed to be good but pure scumbagary of the owner is what makes the place bad. If the food the was hot it probably would have been good! The cheap ass owner keeping the temp of the buffet tables to save a few bucks made the food cold and ruined it. I won't eat below temp food because "going right through you" is the best bet and food poisoning is the worst. The service is horrible! You have to pay before you eat as we did and the wait staff didn't deal with us again. I don't know if we were ignored it they just neglected to get me another Pepsi. After eating s full plate with an empty soda I decided to go and get my own. A group of waiters were standing around and didn't say anything. I sit down, take a big sip & it's mostly seltzer... I have eaten here for lunch a few times over the years and I will probably not come here anymore. I notice every time that the glass partitions that separate the tables from the buffet area are always dirty, like c'mon they can't clean them? Today when I came in to sit where I normally do which is next to the glass partition where the smaller tables are I could smell a foul odor, it smelled like cat urine. I am still standing as I am unsure if I should stay and waiter wants to know what I am drinking, I ask him what the smell is and he doesn't answer so I move to the back and could still faintly smell it. I think it was insecticide. The silverware is so dull and my fork was bent, had to ask for another. I have wondered if this place has been investigated by the board of health. I will no longer patronage this place as it is not as clean as it should be in my mind and oh that smell?? read more

Not sure why the bad reviews. It is accurate that we were asked to pay $19.50 on the way in (2 for lunch). The food looked better than most of the Chinese Buffets, and we found much of the food to be quite good and considerably more taste than typical. The one negative in other review that we agree with is that much of the food was room temperature to warm, rather than hot as it should be. During the week the food on the buffet is old, hard, sticky, seemingly leftover and barely heated enough to keep warm. I've spotted cockroaches here. The soups look like they've been in those pots for months. On weekends the food is definitely more fresh, but at the end of the day it's still sub par Chinese food at best. 2 stars on the weekend, 0-1 star during the week. Probably the worst Chinese food I've had on Long Island. I've been to this place a few years ago when I was in HS before they had their renovation, and I don't remember the food being this bad. Wanted to try this place out today because I remember it was a $10 dollar per person all you can eat buffet and left overs you can bring home if you wanted and finish the rest when ur home.. It Was Worth it to pay back then for an alright Chinese food plate for 10$ per person.. But Now...? This food is complete garbage, cost $20 dollar now per person for access to the shitty buffets' food that's been sitting out there since the day before. They will not even let you bring any of their shitty food home that you didn't end up finishing. They will make you throw it in the garbage rather than let you take it home to fill your stomach even if your the last customer and they have plenty of food still and are about to close. This place is so cheap they haven't fixed the "crystal" light Sign on their store in years . One good thing it at least tells you how crappy the place is from the outside so it's best to just stay away from it. The Employees here are so cheap and the food is terrible do not eat from this chinese place. They won't even let you sit inside to eat your food unless you spent $20+ On the shitty buffet food that you forsure won't have a second plate of because it's so bad. read more

I am a particular fan of their broccoli and mushroom dishes. The boneless ribs on a skewer and the dumplings are excellent, as well. There is nothing served in this buffet that is not delicious. Above average Chinese food buffet with standard options. Contrary to previous reviews, the food was served at a good temperature and the host said goodbye upon our departure. They have a sushi counter, Chinese counters, and American food counters with seafood if you're the daring type. Also have a desert counter. I was there couple days ago with my family 3 adult and 2 kid for dinner the price when up and the manager in the front desk he charged me wrong price than last time I was there, when I left I saw the sign outside how they charge one of my kid it was a kid height he charged as a adult one of it was a child height he charged as a kid price. Also the service is not good there is two waiter one lady and a guy. The guy he seem doesn't want to do the job, having attitude on his face. And the lady she doesn't speak any of English she just listened what I said and walk away. My kid just got ice cream came back to the table we are not even finished with the food and we just sit down for 20 minutes, the lady just bring up the cookies make me feel they are rushing me to finish and leave. And I try to call in speak to the manager the guy answer the phone I said "Can I speak to the manager ." He said yes and I said you service was bad he didn't said anything JUST HAND UP THE ! I think they should need to change the manager TOO RUDE! I don't know it because they change the owner or when the before of couple manger were there before in front desk it never happened like this. Giant place. One of the better buffets in Suffolk. Dinner features crab legs and shrimp. Their sushi is only ok at best but most of the items are tasty. Best to go during peak hours as the food turnover rate is much better and therefore less chance of it getting old. Cost is on par. A nice choice for the casual buffet diner. Im a really big fan of buffets! I always prefer a variety of food over ordering from a menu. A crave for Chinese food kicked in while i was shopping at walmart. Then I looked around for food and i was reliefed to find a Chinese Buffet 10 steps away! As soon as I walked in the place was huge but freakishly dark. There was some food I really enjoy but some others like the spring roll and shrimp bites was made out of grind up meat!??? Gross.....! I asked the waiter for some crab legs on the buffet but he intentially didn't pay attention to my request as if he was ignoring me!
