I fell in love with this salon as soon as I walked in. Everyone here is so sweet! My sister comes here regularly to get her nails done and insisted I try them out. The woman who did my nails was gentle and efficient, my nails feel and look so good. The use a milk honey hand mask treatment while giving you your manicure and it made my skin feel beautiful. The end of our manicures ended in a shoulder massage which I thought was a nice touch. A no chip manicure is $35, pretty standard. Pedicures are $30 but you get a $5 discount if you do both. I just started going to this nail salon when it opened back up since COVID. They do a great job of making customers feel safe. The door opens automatically by waving your hand, they check your temperature and ask you to use hand sanitizer right when you walk in, the technicians wear masks and face shields and they have plexiglass at all stations. They have also reduced their capacity so only 6 or so customers are allowed in the salon at one time (every other station occupied). All the tools are clean or one time use. All in all a safe and clean experience. I have been there three times since they opened back up with no issues. Plus my no chip manicure has lasted 2-3 weeks each time! read more

Went here for a pedicure recently and felt incredibly safe with the precautionary and cleaning measures they took. Service was incredibly friendly and that was by far the best pedicure I've ever received! Just went to Crystal Nails for the second time. All I have say is WORST experience ever!!!! Everyone was nice except the lady doing my nails her name was Amy. She was so rude and aggressive for no reason. What I originally told her I wanted was a colored French tip on my no chip manicure with a little heart design on the ring finger. I asked her again and she said NO. Then I asked why and she says "we don't do that here." "you need a machine to do that." Which then I said "no I think you can do it with a little brush." But then she mumbles "that's Chinese" "we're Korean". Then in a condescending tone she says "well, you should've called to see if we can do a design." So I respond by telling her that has nothing to do with being able to do a design on the nail. And that any other nail shop would be able to do a little design regardless of their background." After this brief back and forth she has the nerve to switch up her mood and be nice to me like no way lady. I go to pay and she still has the nerve to ask for a tip like be so for real right now, I just gave her $5. The lady who was charging me and Amy laughed and said something in Korean about me leaving that amount for a tip like that's because your service is horrible. NEVER AGAIN! Extremely rude. I have a one year old daughter and daycare called to pick her up - what I thought was a day for me, obviously no longer is - which is rare. I called to cancel and the woman on the phone was questioning me cancelling and I had to repeat that daycare called and I have to get my daughter. She said it happened in December, yes, it did, because I had a NEWBORN and as moms know, especially when breastfeeding and nursing, sometimes a baby prevents you from self care. I did frequent the salon and enjoyed it on the RARE occasion for TLC. And self care. I'll go elsewhere. Don't shame a mom for cancelling an appointment because of her newborn and now toddler due to being sick and needing to be picked up from daycare. Shame on you. read more

I went when it was very busy. The shop was a very clean environment. However the smells of nail polish and other cleaning agents were overpowering. The technician did a basic manicure. I consistently get great service at this salon. Definitely my #1 spot for a mani pedi. Monday-Wednesday is your prime time for a mani-pedi combo, since there's a weekday special where it's discounted to maybe $36 or $38... which is typically i think $42 regularly. Don't quote me. But here's why they win. All the techs are very skilled. Although their English isn't the best, they definitely strive to serve and make their customers happy. The owner/boss/woman in charge Helen, runs a tight ship. She always greets her customers, and makes appoint to remember her frequently returning clients. Here's why their mani-pedi wins. The chairs have seats (including the bum) the chairs are remote-massaging and on point. Their pedis.... include SOOOOO MUCH! ON top of your standard pedi, you also get a hot stone massage to your feet and legs, as well as a paraffin wax treatment to your heels to make them much softer. Expect to really sit in this spot for a bout 2 hours. although it is lengthy, the workers take their time to get it right, and really let you feel relaxed. It's very clean. ample color/nail polish selection with good products, ranging from Essie, China Glaze, OPI, Relish, CND, and more. I've had no-chips, which are also well-applied, and pretty long lasting. Being a nurse, my hands are exposed to a lot of chemicals and frequent hand washing. Your no-chip (regularly priced at $35) WILL hold up. manis get an extra hydrating glove treatment, and a quick back massage. There's too many good things to say about this salon. After overspending at Costco, I stopped at home and looked up where near my house I could get my nails done. The reviews of Crystal Nails was great, so i called and asked about pricing, which was $40 for mani/pedi, so I said I'd be right over. What a lovely experience. Super friendly staff, nice atmosphere, many colors to chose from. I was there 2 hours for the mani/pedi (probably a bit longer than normal since it had been so long since my nails had been properly done), but that $40 I mentioned included a 15 minute leg/foot massage! What?! So nice. You also get paraffin treatment on both your heals and your hands... included in that $40. What?! So nice. Both the ladies who worked on me were very careful and paid attention to details. In conclusion, great experience, great nails, great price, great massage and paraffin, and I'll be getting manis/pedis much more often now at Crystal's! read more

What a nice, welcoming nail salon. I just moved to Skokie four months ago and have been trying to find a nail salon. I tried a couple less than a mile from my house but either the vibe was weird or service was incomplete. (This is talking to you Tang Nails.) I went here based off Yelp reviews. They were not kidding. Their regular pedicure and manicures include things that most salons do not such as paraffin and hand masks. I liked that they placed the hand mask on my hands while doing the no chip. They also do not skimp on service. My pedicure must have been a hour. Also, they let you watch cooking shows while getting your nails done. The employees are super friendly and really want to get to know you. The pricing is pretty average. They do have a Monday through Wednesday mani-pedi special of $36. read more

Just happily returned from getting a $28 pedi here and am still high off the complimentary services that accompanied it such as the hot stone massage, paraffin wax, and the quickie shoulder massage. I really appreciated the time that Emma took on "grating" and scrubbing my soles and the thorough leg massages! They also have waxing services. They offer coffee, tea, and chocolates/candy. They're open until 7 PM weekdays and 6 PM weekends and are located in the corner of a strip mall. You can tell that the owner Helen trained them all to be extremely friendly and nice. Randomly came across this place online when looking for a salon close to home and that would take me last minute. With confidence I can tell you I have found my go to salon from now on! I got a no chip Mani and regular pedi.. the pedicure was amazing! I was surprised at how long the leg massage when on for...it was a minimum of 5-10 minutes on each leg! Stopped by this place today after getting turned down for a walk in at my regular place. I am really happy to discover this hidden gem. Service was really great for their pedicure and the massage they give on your legs is MUCH longer than the average nail place. I thought the massage was heavenly! Overall they did a great job. The only downside, and reason I deducted one star was that I felt she didn't do a good enough job pumicing/ removing dead skin. This salon I happened upon when taking care of business up in Skokie in July. They are the nicest most professional nail salon I've ever been to. Prices are comparable to any salon in the city but oh the ups & extras! The pedicure will have you saying "huh" ?? That all comes with the standard price..not telling, go see for yourself! Ok, so let me just start off by saying that they give an amazing foot massage when you get a pedicure. Hot stone, oils, foot masks, the works. Its a bang for your buck! However they did a horrible job on my toes. The lady painted on my skin and left it there, the polish was uneven, and it started chipping a week into my pedicure, which NEVER happens. I was so upset. Next came my gel manicure. She put on the gel so thin that you could see actual nail underneath, it wasn't opaque (the color by the way was a bright coral). I stopped going here and now I remember why... I am 9 months pregnant and wanted to treat myself to a good mani-pedi with the massage they usually give at the end. I had Amy, and at first, I thought it was a language barrier, but she did a horrible job. She started off with a pedicure. During the massage part, she was doing some hard karate chopping to which I asked to instead just focus on my ankles which unsurprisingly needed some attention due to them being swollen(again, 9 months preggo). She said very condescendingly, twice, "I don't know, I'm not a doctor. You need to see a doctor." What? I thought this was a light massage during the pedicure, I'm not asking you to cure my swollen ankles... I asked her to scrub the calluses on my heels to which she said, "you need to do this every time you shower." I replied that I do and I have the tool but it seemed she did not believe it and kept going back and forth with me and didn't do anything extra to my calluses. Instead, she said that I am "heavy right now, that's why it's so rough". During the manicure part, I had my hands in hers and slightly turned my head to talk to my cousin next to me. She interrupted my conversation to ask if I wanted to have my cuticles pushed back. In all honesty, that was an irrelevant question, I thought that was included but the WAY she did it was incredibly rude. She tugged my finger aggressively to get my attention which made me feel like I was a schoolgirl getting scolded. Then as she was getting rid of the extra skin around my cuticles, she made me bleed. Twice. Crystal was there and did not say anything. When I went to pay, I gave a 15% tip as I was not satisfied with my experience at all. Crystal insisted I give more and I had to be stern and say no. I'm usually pretty easygoing and always give a 20% tip but this time, I felt the write about my bad experience. I loved this place until recently. I went for mani/pedi, looking forward to the parrafin hand wax. The owner said they don't do this in the summer but they do this for pedis. I asked why but her answer was unclear, something about it's too hot in the summer. Then why do you still do this for pedis? She mumbled something and started talking to someone else. The girls work so hard. This young lady gave me an awesome pedi but the owner gave me the mani. I gave the customary 20% tip and the owner had the nerve to take money out for herself, put it in her drawer then walked over to the girl that gave me the pedi and gave her the rest of the tip. I love this place!! Hellen and her staff is very welcoming. They greet you by your first name and they always have smiles. Very laid back nail salon. The pedicures are the best! Emma is the person to I usually go to. Her massages are the best and it last for a good 15min per leg. And it also includes a hot stone massage, on top of a regular massage with lotion. The pedicures also come with parafen wax applied to the heel and wrapped with Saran wrap. Emma is great and she takes her time cleaning the feet. The manicures are just as good!
