Honestly, this Auto Body and Paint business is easy to pass by on 82nd and Yamhill. The yard looks like a graveyard for wrecked cars. No one can enter the front door on SE 82nd Ave. It is permanently locked. So why 5 stars? First, this is a family owned business. Anthony, the owner takes pride in his work and profit is secondary. Second, you are never put on a wait list. As soon as the parts arrive, your car gets repaired and painted. Third, you get fast turnaround. Most small jobs get same day service. Fourth, you get quality. You can run your hand over the paint and it is absolutely smooth. Fifth, Anthony almost always gives you a discounts. Sixth, Anthony has been dealing with Insurance Companies for over 20 years and he knows how to kick ass when adjusters are hesitant to settle an accident claim. He is truly on the side of the small guy against the giant Insurance Companies. Seventh, it is not a take it or leave it deal. Anthony doesn't just want you thinking you got a great price for a substandard job. He listens to your concerns, explains why he made repair decisions, and wants your return business. If you prefer to go to a well advertised Autobody with a nice shiny building and clean repair bays that order only original parts and no OEM, and charge the maximum insurance price and get on a wait list to have your car fixed and leave you driving a courtesy car for a month, you will be just another customer for a franchise auto body repair. Damaging your car is never fun. I had my first accident in my driving life a week or so ago. Most of the damage to my 88 Toyota truckie was cosmetic, but the left front inner fender had a significant crinkle in it that needed to be straightened out if the new parts were going to fit. I guess I am pretty square because I am not interested in having a monthly car payment, and I think new cars are ugly. I was initially going to go with a large well known body shop that offers financing because I thought I was going to be out a grand for the repair. When I took my truck to them they gave me a bunch of attitude about how they wouldn't be able to give me an estimate because of the age of my vehicle and the supposed difficulty in getting parts. They told me that I would have to take my truck to their main location in Tigard to get an estimate. I decided to try another large body shop that I knew of on Halsey by 81st, they basically told me to F off and that if I thought my POS truck was worth fixing it would cost me 2,000.00. Two large body shops, two huge doses of attitude and dick-ish treatment. I decided to try one more place as we were driving down 82nd my sweetie said there is one right there - as we drove past CT Auto Body. We had pretty low expectations but we drove in and explained the situation. I didn't need any paint work, and I explained that I also didn't need truckie to look like he just rolled off the assembly line. I just needed new lights in the front (headlights, markers, blinkers) I needed the fender straightened out and the hood latch fixed. I dealt with Anthony, we explained everything we were looking for and he listened without trying to talk us into anything we didn't need. He looked up the parts and cam up with an estimate - 279.00 for the whole job. I was stunned, I kept thinking that it was too low, that they couldn't possibly get it right for that cheap. They fixed it up in no time at all! I was able to pick up my truckie the NEXT DAY. I gave Anthony $300.00 and walked away happy!! CT Auto Body & Paint is a family owned business who won't talk down to you for wanting to fix your crappy old truck with almost 300,000 miles on it. They aren't running an insurance scam mark-up business. They do good work, fast and HONESTLY. If you smash up your ride go see Anthony, he will turn your frown upside down!! read more

I had a great experience with these guys! My car was rear-ended/side-swiped while it was parked, hit and run style. My insurance was contracted with places that could take til March to actually make repairs, were less convenient to me, and more expensive. So I decided to have my insurance do an assessment and still take it to CT. CT gave me an estimate and ordered parts for me right away when I first came in last week, and today I was able to stop by for about an hr and have it fixed while I hung out in the waiting room. I've never left a Yelp review before, but I feel compelled to after my amazing experience with CT Auto. I brought my 2009 Toyota Camry in after a bad accident. They not only got it fixed up quickly, but also provided me with a rental car to use while I waited. The day it was finished, they were kind enough to allow me to pick up my car 30 mins after close when I said I couldn't make it there any sooner. The Camry was there waiting for me, looking beautiful & clean, and has been driving well since. If I ever need auto body services in the future, I won't take my car anywhere else. I am posting for a post service comment on this shop. It has been about a year now since I have had my car fixed by these awesome people. My car is special and required fiber glass for the body. It is an exotic car. I haven't had any crack form on my car even with such a delicate material. Previously I had crashed the back of my car. I had recently also had a few other mechanical procedures done here too. They are great in changing oil for $20 but give you the good premium oil not the cheap stuff that Meineke does. They also had all the belts of my car changed for just $35, they charged me for the parts only which was awesome. And I have had them fix trunk clasp issues, fuse issues, and window button issues. They are not the type of people who will rip you off with prices. And they do their job well. Anthony is the owner of this shop he is really helpful and quick in his work. read more

Some a-hole broke into my backseat window and I didn't want to go through my insurance to get it fixed because I KNEW it would be a rip-off. My friend recommended this place and I did not expect much but the service was phenomenal; the guy at the office was super friendly and was very quick to give me an estimate and day to get it fixed. Gave me a discount and suggested that I replace the broken window with a used one since my car is just an old '99 Civic, so I did just that. Even cleaned up all the glass and I could not be happier! Had my car fully repainted here...needless to say it went back a couple times and still at the end of it...left with a 60 hour paint correction, 80% of the car is complete orange peel, no clear on the edges of hood, door jams, etc...among other issues like the fact they did not color sand or buff after painting...a year later and I'm paying a professional detailer to do a 60+ hour paint correction and this is after going to two other detailers this year and having them turn the job down...saying a new paint job would probably be cheaper. I will say I did not attempt to go back again after these issues...I am sure they would've attempted to fix this problem if I had approached them with my concerns however I had made the purchase through a friend at a local business and did not want to make him look bad in addition to the fact that I had already had my car in the city for a couple months and was bringing it back home for the year...for reference the business was contracted through Horsepowerfreaks in Portland, Oregon...I did not get the full show car repaint that I had asked for. read more

I needed body work after a too-close encounter with a concrete post in a parking garage. I scraped and dented the right rear passenger door of my basically brand-new Mazda 3. The dents were along the shaped "styling" lines as well as in the large panel portion of the door. I also managed to put a small but deep scrape and dent right above the right front door handle. I got a quote from Danny that sounded pretty reasonable and he assured me that the repaired area would look just like the other side. I took a few days to think about it and even got two estimates from another shop. One was almost double CT's, and the second, supposedly the "right" way to fix it with new parts, was almost double their first estimate and still came with "best effort" caveats. I decided to go with CT - brought my car in on a Tuesday, was given a loaner, and got my car back on Friday. I have to admit I was a little worried about what to expect, so I was amazed and thrilled to see that it looks absolutely perfect. I hope I don't need their services again, but if I do I would not hesitate to go back and I obviously recommend them to anyone who needs body work.
