Really glad I stumbled upon CT! We ordered the chicken pho and Bun Dac Biet (S3) to go. I can see why S3 is one of their most popular dishes! Environment: tiny restaurant but it has lots of seating. However, it was kind of dark inside. Staff: served us and gave us water when we were running low. Food: I got the vermicelli bowl with grilled chicken and spring rolls. Huge portion, to the point where the bowl is a little too small to mix it. Lots of veggies and meat was very tender. She gave me a menu with pictures of the food and told me to have a seat . I sat down she arrived with water and started helping me with the menu . She made some recommendations and I went with it. Originally I had better experiences and higher hopes visiting here, so I'm revising my previous review. The food is decent, nothing stellar, nothing terrible. Living local to the neighborhood I've managed to try a handful of dishes at CT Bistro over the years. I've been eating Asian cuisine for well over 40 years, many years all over the Portland area and several amongst the diversified and rich Los Angeles food scene. Finding truly epic Asian and ethnic cuisine in this town is certainly proving to be a challenge as mediocre often seems to be the norm. In the Vietnamese realm, they only offer two kinds of pho. Pho Bo - beef noodle soup, and Pho Ga - Chicken noodle soup. Flavor wise they aren't terrible, the Pho Bo always includes some cartilage fatty chunks, something only Portland seems to promote. Portions are good, you can easily fix two large bowls on a to-go order. People might turn a sour stomach in that with a to-go order the meat isn't packed separately from the veggies and vermicelli noodles, it's laid right on top, even leaving a little red color behind. Since it all gets mixed together anyways, it's really not a huge deal, just a little odd since most restaurants often separate the meats in a sandwich bag. Just make sure your pho broth is piping hot! In the Thai realm, the Pad Kee Mow is also decent. Again, nothing stellar but nothing off putting. Portion size is good, meats can sometimes be a little dry, noodles are cooked well and flavor is mild and pleasant bordering on slightly bland. Where this place really loses points and why I probably won't return is their lack of organization between the front of the house and the kitchen. Most of the time wait times are reasonable. Placed an order for pick up around 4 PM on an early Saturday evening. Upon arriving 20 minutes later I was told they were still working on it. In actuality, they never even started. You could tell a lot of their business comes from to-go orders as the counter was stacked up with orders. So I sat and waited, and waited and waited, I wouldn't even say the place was all that busy as most of the tables were empty. I watched as my pho order finally came up and just sat on the counter, broth getting cold as people walked in and ordered food to-go and back out with their orders within 10 minutes. At no time was I ever rude or demanding, just quiet, I even left a tip after paying when I arrived. 40 minutes later I was ready to ask for a refund and just leave without a meal, of course by then it was finally bagged and ready. 40 minutes to make Pad Kee Mow is kind of ridiculous when other to-go orders were completed for customers who weren't even there or waiting. The two guys running the front counter really didn't seem to care and were kind of aloof. So sadly, I'll be taking my Thai and Vietnamese cravings elsewhere. read more

I am so happy to have found this place! In town for work and saw it in the way to my hotel. I ordered take out and the food was definitely the best I've had in Beaverton. I come here for work a lot and am trying to eat "healthier" these day. I ordered the Garlicky Greens with tofu and Fresh Rolls with pork and shrimp. The vegetables were so fresh and perfectly cooked, and not at all mushy. The delicious peanut sauce perfectly complimented the fresh rolls. Thank you for a wonderful meal. Awesome bistro in the neighborhood when I cannot make up my mind between Thai, Vietnamese or Wings! Yep, they have a menu with options from these three categories, sometimes I'll even get something from all three. So I can be eating my pho, drinking a Thai iced tea with some French fries on the side. It might sound odd, but that's the true beauty of CT Bistro to me. Pricing is very decent and affordable comparing to other restaurants nearby. Their wings are juicy and flavorful, and the other food options are good too. Ate in for dinner and had the Cashew Delight with chicken. Comes with a side of steamed white rice. Also ordered a bottled beer which came with a chilled glass. I was 2/3 the way through that when the food arrived. Chicken was tender and in generous portions, the many veggies tasted fresh and perfectly cooked, and there was just the right amount of a slightly spicy sauce throughout to make it interesting. Plenty of great food and a beer for under $15 before tip. My only complaint is the menu lists the names of the items in Vietnamese but offers very brief English description. But based on my first visit I'd say you can't go wrong regardless. read more

Wow look no further for a warm meal! Yummy, indeed! This is a local favorite for me when I am too lazy to make food or simply looking for some great Vietnamese grub. This is easily the most non-suspecting diamond in the rough in NW Portland, IMHO. It's situated in a the same shopping plaza as the Safeway on NW Cornell, randomly in between a pet store (Holistic Pet) and a dry cleaner. Non-suspecting might actually be the best way to describe it, there are pieces of paper on the interior windows and a few pictures of the menu left of the door. The the most important thing is obviously the food, so let's get started. It's certainly interesting, they have Vietnamese, Thai, and naturally, Chicken Wings. I have tried these wings, the lemon pepper and buffalo are actually awesome, do it! The Phô soup is terrific and THE dish to try is something the owner invented himself: Pad Woonsen (B2), which is made with glass noodles. The owner used to cook in Louisiana and ships in some unique ingredients from there. This guy is a fantastic cook and a great guy, definitely strike up a conversation with him and ask for recommendations. If you are in a hurry for something or the tab, I'd just walk up to the counter. Sometimes it can be a little slow to get noticed if it's packed. Overall the food quality is terrific and incredibly delicious. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive warm meal, look no further. One of my favs! Cheers! read more

Good food, terrible service. I called to order take away lunch. No one picked up my first call. It was lunchtime, so I waited a little bit, and called again. This time, someone picked up the phone, but didn't say anything. It sounded like the phone was set down on the table, then ignored - for several minutes. Felt very rude. CT Bistro, I understand lunchtime can be busy, but if you don't want your customers to call in orders, remove your phone number for your website and search listing. This place is in the same plaza as Safeway, Dollar Tree, Chipotle, McDonalds, etc. So many choices around this location but if you're craving Thai definitely try this place out! Pretty small restaurant but not so small that you're packed like sardines. There seems to be a consistent stream of customers which tells you a lot about the place - they have good food, and returning customers to prove that. Their portions are huge! So be prepared to either stuff your face or eat it the next day. Tom yum soup was super flavorful, lots of veggies and meat (we got chicken) and I almost got full off of that. Rookie mistake! Com dac biet is their "meat platter" per se; TONS of lemongrass seasoned chicken, pork, shrimp on top of a bed of broken rice. No veggies because who needs that type of negativity in your life?! Super tender meats, perfectly seasoned, overall delicious. Pad woonsen is like pad see ew but with thin glass noodles. A mix between pancit (Filipino dish) and pad see ew would be a good representation. But a ton of veggies, a ton of noodles. Taste was alright only because I was craving pad see ew. A little lime would really brighten up the dish and make it more exciting. The service was FAST. Water refills are self service and you can basically help yourself to spices, utensils, etc. Only because the man there is running back and forth helping tables. He's very type A which I thought was interesting, as he tried to tell me how to pack my food away. It's not bad. Had a nice lunch with my family here today for the first time! I've been wanting to try this place and so glad we did! The menu is split into three sections: Vietnamese, Thai, or chicken wings. It is a unique fusion of different foods and I'm sure anyone could find something they like this way. I ordered Bun Ga Nuong which is Grilled Chicken Vermicelli with Eggroll. It was sooo good. Chicken had amazing flavor and was perfectly grilled; I very much enjoyed the eggroll and noodles as well! I would definitely order this again, but I want to try everything on the menu! Also, the atmosphere was clean and cute. The wait time was short. The strawberry lemonade was yummy. And the customer service was great. This is around the corner from the Columbia Employee store so found it on Yelp knowing we would be hungry from shopping! I cannot say enough about our meal. First, the owner is delightful and you feel right away that this is no ordinary strip mall restaurant. Our food was freshly made and came out in batches as it was prepared. Not gonna lie, I walked in here solely because it smelled so good from outside. I walked in, and the hostess smiled at me as I pretended to know what I was reading on the menu board. I had no idea what I was ordering, so I guessed and had myself a Saigon No.5 (whatever that is). I left with vermicelli noodles, grilled chicken in some crazy orange-colored marinade, one egg roll I am currently best friends with, and a salad that may or may not have had some XO sauce on it. So Flipping Good. The chicken was tender and mad flavorful without being overly saucy or sweet, the noodles were cooked well and tasted great, and again, that egg roll was the kind of side that you'd take home to your mother. Mediocre food: We asked for no spice/heat in the papaya salad because my mom can't eat it, but it came out covered in thai chillies, and overworked with fish sauce with very little lemon or acid . . . just flat out bad. Chicken and shrimp vermicelli had 2 shrimp and 1 thin chicken breast, just cheap. Pho was overcooked, cold, with chewy meat, and near inedible meatball, just far from "rare beef" pho. BUT the worst was the near non existent service. Guy didn't listen, took forever, never checked back in, then asked if we had cash to (I assume) avoid the card percentage they lose, again just cheap. Only positive is the portions seemed a little larger than usual, but . . . who cares if it's bad. Will never be back. By the way, I suspect several positive reviews are fake. One claims to have been there when I was - place was not "empty" and there was no "lady" waiting tables. Another claims he always goes here when he's in NW Portland, um what? Believe the many 1 star reviews, they are at least real. read more

Cute little place in SW Portland serving up some pretty decent Thai and Viet food. Atmosphere is a bit off but it's a small joint with a small staff. Don't be alarmed at their seemingly small menu. They serve a handfull of dishes for each - Vietnamese , Thai, and yes, New York oddly enough. The menu is split into these sections and the NY section has fries and wings and such. Strange. Kent, Mai and the rest of the staff do a great job staying consistent in their quality and portions over the years. On a really busy night when it is packed and there are lots of to-go orders, you might as well get your own water up in the front, which I feel is okay, it's a laid back type of establishment. I like their curry and pretty much all their stir fry selections. Stir fry favorites for me are the fried rice, pad see eww, and cashew chicken. Papaya salad and beef salad are an acquired taste but are excellent in my opinion. No their pho is not authentic perhaps, but it's consistent and again good quality. Their wings are particularly great and if you have kids who love fries, they give a generous amount for the price! Having such a nice Asian cuisine place so close to north Beaverton suburbia with this kind of variety, quality and neighborly feel is quite the treat. read more

Walking into the restaurant it seemed like it was an order at the counter and then sit down because the have the menu posted above the register but it wasn't. The restaurant was empty and the lady sat us quickly at a booth. The lighting on the inside is pretty dark though. The menu is pretty small compared to a lot of other asian places but the food with definitely good. I got the bun thit which had the grilled pork and I chose shrimp with it. The pork and shrimp was cooked well and tender. It was a lot of food too. We also got the NY wings. They have a meal deal with those too. We got both flavors, it was lemon pepper and garlic pepper. The wings were cooked well. The chicken was super moist and the skin was a little crunchy. The garlic pepper was better than the lemon pepper though. Service was quick we ordered and got our food pretty fast. Prices are average as well. read more

I got papaya salad and Garliky Greens The Papaya salad was ok. It was very plain. It was all papaya and carrots. Ive gotten used to great papaya salad at one location and its so good there that i compare it to all others. The Garliky Greens were good. Portion was acceptable. Flavour was fine. Not outstanding but not bad either. The prices here are a little on the high side and that is becoming the norm. But i will say they give good portions so it doesnt feel as bad paying a little more. If i recall correctly the papaya salad is $10 or $10.50. And the Garlicky Greens was $11.00 or $12.00. If the portions were small i would never return. And as it is i wouldnt rush back to CT Bistro. It wasent that great or outstanding to get me excited enough to make a special trip. If i were in the area yes i would probably stop by again. read more

Did a takeout order, went to the restaurant to place the order, only a 20 minute wait for rush hour dinner! Although we ate at home, the inside seemed to have plenty of seating and nice lighting. Smelled delicious in there and lots of menu choices. All of our food choices were presented with options to add meat, tofu, or keep/make it vegetarian which I appreciated. This place is very unique: Vietnamese, Thai, chicken wings. I've had the pad kee mao here and though its decent I know a few others that make it better. The pho is also good but my favorite thing are the combo vermicelli and rice plates. While the flavor doesn't stand out, the contents are pretty good and I usually have leftovers...or it's perfect when my gf decides she rather eat my food. I'm a dry wing fan and there lemon pepper wing is solid. A little small but crunchy on the outside without being overly cooked. Def a go to place when I'm too lazy to cook. I've had the pleasure of eating here a couple of times now. They have a menu that highlights three different regions - Thailand, Vietnam and the good old US of A. Being a Thai fan, both of my samplings were here. I started with my favorite curry, Pa Nang. They didn't disappoint. The flavor was rich, the veggies were crisp and the chicken was very tender. The place was very crowded on my first outing yet we were seated, our order was taken and we were served within 15 minutes, making it a great place for lunch if you are short on time. The second time I came after the lunch rush and it was much less crowded. This time I had the cashew dish and it was also very good. Plenty of cashews, not quite the heat of the curry dish, a nice combination of flavors all in one dish. The service was attentive and quick both times we were there. This will stay on my list of places to drop in on when I'm hungry and in that part of town. read more
