A few weeks ago we celebrated one year of moving my family from Florida back to AZ and when we were in Florida we went to a place called Babbalos. It was delicious and being in a hub for Cuban food it was amazing. I was told about cubanitas from a coworker and decided this had to be the place to celebrate. Glad oh so glad we did. Delicious drinks sides, sandwiches and plates. Came on a Sunday around 6pm and was seated outside. Ordered some appetizers and drinks that we all really enjoyed. I absolutely ordered the Cuban sandwich to compare and it was superb and all others in my party loved their food as well. Full of flavor with a wonderful staff in just a nice little spot that felt like we were back in Florida but I'm sure for others more like little Cuba Don't pass by this spot it's loud and fun just sitting and they make it an unforgettable experience with delicious food and drink

Came here on a Wednesday night and it was 2 hrs to close time but the place was packed. They have a full bar and outside seating but because the bar had an open concept inside was a little bit on the warm side. Server was super nice and they didn't skimp out on the portions. I ordered the pollo potaje plate which comes with white rice and red bean stew, it was full of flavor. My roommate ordered the bistec de Res which comes with Cuban rice and side salad, he devour the whole plate. Guava and beef empanadas were killer and the coco flan was decadent. I wasn't a fan of the tostones, it was on the dry side and needed a dipping sauce or something. There's so many side dishes I want to try, can't wait to go back and I recommend this place to anybody that's a foodie.

Felt like home. Great food. Will definitely be back! Coffee was amazing. Service was fast. Music was top notch!

Beautiful little Cuban restaurant tucked in historic downtown Glendale with amazing service and ambience! We stopped by for a quick drink to cool down after a hot day outside exploring the historic downtown area! My partner was missing home and he's from Florida and he said that this place gave him what he was missing in regard to the space and the wonderful plantain appetizers we got! The sweet ones were great and the crispy salty ones were just as yummy! Drinks were great and you can't beat that happy hour time either. We'll be back for more and their salsa nights and definitely recommend to others!

First time visiting recommended by a true cubano friend. We had the Cuban sandwich, papa rellena and the plantain canoa despite of all other comments I'll tell you we had a great experience our server Francys was very friendly and helpful with the food options his recommendation were spot on we will definitely revisit. Thank you Francys.

This reminded me of Cuban restaurants back in Miami- which are the absolute best! The entire decor and vibe is spot on. The food was good. The service was friendly and prompt. As far as I can tell they only serve the black beans mixed with rice. I wish they had an option to order them separately as that is my preference. Overall, this satisfied my craving for Cuban food and I will be back!

I stumbled upon Cubanitas Kitchen one random Saturday in September while my boyfriend was off browsing a comic book store--and what a happy accident that turned out to be! I struck up a conversation with a friendly gentleman at the bar, who I later found out was the owner himself. Though we were too full to eat that first time, we've since made up for it--returning three times and falling completely in love with this place. The food is OUT OF CONTROL good! The Ropa Vieja is a masterpiece--rich, flavorful, and perfectly tender. The Tostones Rellenos are absolute must-tries (especially the chorizo!), and if you stop by on the weekend, do yourself a favor and order the Ajiaco soup--it's bursting with authentic flavor and warmth. The service is exceptional, the owner's passion shines through, and the entire experience feels like a labor of love. This is hands down THE SPOT for incredible Cuban food in Glendale. Don't walk--run to Cubanitas Kitchen. You won't regret it!

We just visited Cubanitas new location on Glendale Ave. and it did not disappoint. I have had food in Floridas Little Havana and this place would fit right in (very authentic). The Cuban sandwich is the bomb and the highlight of the meal. The stuffed potato is a must try and the steak platter was solid. My only recommendation would be to change the fries to crinkle cut instead of shoestring. The atmosphere is lively and our server was great. Even the draft beers are huge and cold. Overall I highly recommend you go out of your way to try Cubanitas. You will not be sorry! David "FIMP" B Food Is My Passion

10 out of 10 would recommend, if you're looking for a homemade meal, I haven't had authentic Cuban food in a while. This is the place for you! Great price is great customer service amazing authentic smells. I cannot believe this is walking distance from influence Studios and the Glendale Civic Center. It's such a beautiful restaurant, and so clean, tons of choices for drinks and food options!

Cubano. Pork was dry and tasted old, pickles were limp and flavorless, and mustard barely able to detect.

We went in on a Sunday late afternoon. The place has a nice covered patio, large bar and seating inside. It's clean and bright. We sat at the bar and ordered Mojitos, empanadas and cubanos. The bartender was not rude, but not friendly or welcoming. His service overall was good but he Barely spoke a word. The food was not good. First the meat in the empanadas tasted like taco meat seasoned with a storw bought taco seasoning packet and the dough tasted like it was from canned biscuits. The pork in the cubano was really dry and tasted old. The pickles tasted like cheap, pickles from a jar. Little to no mustard but the bread was fresh. Best and only part of our meals we like were the fries. They were delicious, fresh and fried perfectly. The mojito tasted good but was weak. Not the best, not the worst I've had but I make a better mojito. All the workers lacked enthusiasm and when delivering our food, just put the food down and walked away. This place was a huge disappointment but I'm not sure if was off night for them. I'm not sure yet if I'll give it another try or not.

Whoa! I found the taste of Miami right here in Phoenix. We had the coquette with potato and beef that was light and fluffy and the beef lightly seasoned. The yucca was incredibly crisp and the insides were fluffy. the plantains were not overly sweet but very pleasant. The cubano sandwich was plentiful with moist ham and the bread was delicious. The staff was efficient and very friendly. They helped with questions of all things Cuban. This is a very small establishment and few tables. Also, there is no bathroom facilities. Parking is plentiful. Next time we will take it to go and enjoy a nearby park. This place is GREAT! Oh, and try the flan. Totally smooth with no air bubbles.

I LOVED this place! Let me tell you!! It was incredible! Great good!! Great drinks! Really fun and lively atmosphere! Great vibes! We went on a Saturday when all the Low Riders were out in Glendale. It was amazing! We will definitely be back. OH! Yeah, the owners are AWESOME! Come support this locally owned business with incredible people at the helm! You won't regret it! I'll see you there!

There's just less than a handful of traditional, really good, delectable, and authentic Cuban Restaurants in the Valley, plus a few wannabe or extreme fusion composites and I must say hands down, Cubanitas Kitchen is our top of the wrung, top of the hill, A Numero uno Cuban eatery. Take it from a Cuban American who is constantly on the prowl for great, traditional and homemade Cubano throughout the state if Arizona! From Miami, FL, to New York, NY, to Chicago, IL to Portland, OR and Phoenix, I've chased Cuban Cuisine everywhere! In the words of Guy Fieri "this is the real deal"! My wife and I recently visited again and went whole hog (pardon the pun) with such traditional Cuban Cuisine as Puerco Asado, Bistec de Cerdo with Congri, ensalada along with Yuca con Mojo, Platanos Maduros Fritos, a side of Yuca Frita, Empanadas de Guayaba and de Picadillo (Guava and Minced Meat pastries), along with Cuban Sandwiches to go! We also splurged on a can of Materva, one of Jupiña and I had a traditional yummy Batido de Mamay! I had the privilege of being there when an off-menu special was added - a long standing, underrated, little-known and little-appreciated childhood fave dish my grandmother used to make called Ajiaco! This relaxed, Caribbean comfort food incorporates jerked beef (salted meat), pork, bacon, corn, yam, plantains, cassava, sweet potato, pumpkin, onion, garlic, lemons, Cuban creole sauce and lard, into one of the most fascinating stews on earth! despite stuffing ourselves and taking home a bunch of leftovers, we never did get to try their vast assortment of culinary delicacies on the menu such as: Ropa Vieja; Puerco Asado; Pollo a la Plancha; Pan con Bistec; Pan con Croqueta; Pan con Lechon; Tostones; Papa Rellena; Croquetas de Jamon; Yuca Frita; Chicharritas; Tostones Rellenos; Cortaditos; Café Cubano; Flan Regular, Guayaba o Coco; Batidos de Mango, Guayaba, or Malteada. With only one exception to my 5-start rating is their Cubano - yes, there is no Cuban Bread available in the area, and that's forgivable. But their traditional take on the sammich lacks in depth of mojo and length of marinade time, has a lackluster swiss cheese and the omission of mustard - is sacrilege! Yet co-owners Lennis Montero, Angel Renteria and Keeon Pullen should be commended going from food truck to brick and mortar to a new location in such a short period of time! And Lennis' fantastic cooking, Chef and ability to translate from her heart and soul the true, traditional, delish and homey Cuban fare to the Valley. You guys are a much-needed boon to our community, along with showing just how fabulous really good, tasty and hearty real Cuban food is. Buen provecho ya'll!

When we were in Miami and Key West I ate my weight in Cuban sandwiches so that's my gold standard! This one is just as good if not better! Advised it was big but we each ordered one anyway and big is an understatement they were huge! Roasted pork delicious and juicy, ham and Swiss. Just the right about of mustard not to overpower it and the right amount of pickles to also enhance but not overpower the flavor. The Cuban bread DELICIOUS! For 12 dollars it was two meals and a small snack for me. I'd say that's a heck of a deal ! We are already planning a trip out west to go back !

We started off with canoa which is a plantain stuffed with ground beef and cheese. It was very hot and delicious! For our "platos principals" (main entrees) I had the pechuga de pollo (chicken breast with grilled onions) with mofongo as my side (also comes with a side salad). It was very tasty and not dry at all. BFF had the pernil (pulled pork) with arroz con gandules (rice with pigeon peas) as his side which also came with a side salad. For dessert we shared the tembleque which is a coconut pudding but not in the traditional sense of pudding (more like a jelly texture). BFF also ordered coquito (holiday rum drink) & apparently our server (Sophia) omitted the rum so the owner came by and offered a fresh glass. Speaking of, everything was wonderful except that Sophia seemed to have a bit of a poor attitude as she wasn't too friendly. I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt as perhaps she wasn't feeling well but out of the corner of my eye she had this almost "eyeroll" look. Perhaps she just didn't want to be there (she was friendly upon us leaving and thanked us). Anyway, I highly recommend this establishment. Both food and ambience was great and the service was too.

Absolute Perfection! If you want authentic, flavorful, and…read moreincredibly generous portions, this is the spot. We came in and were absolutely blown away by everything we ordered. The Service: Our waiter, Becky, was absolutely amazing! She was so attentive, friendly, and made the entire experience even better. The Mains: The breaded chicken with Tallarín Verde (green spaghetti) was cooked perfectly, and the pasta was so rich and savory. We also tried the shrimp plate with rice and fries, which had the perfect kick, and a massive platter loaded with grilled steak, fried egg, chicharrón (pork belly), sausage, and beans. Everything was seasoned beautifully. The Drinks & Dessert: You have to try the Chicha Morada--it's the perfect refreshing pairing for the meal. And absolutely save room for dessert! The lucuma ice cream with the alfajor cookie, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle was the perfect sweet ending to an amazing dinner. The food here is vibrant, authentic, and worth every single penny. This is officially our new go-to spot in Avondale. 10/10 recommend!

Nicole was outstanding and so knowledgeable about every entrée on the menu. Her pride and knowledge about what this restaurant had to offer was impressive and refreshing. Everything was so flavorful, fresh and uniquely fantastic. I ordered two entrées to go and wish I had taken more photographs than the ones I have to offer here. There's some type of green hot sauce they have that is enough to give this restaurant five stars alone. FRESH, flavorful and healthy. I cannot wait to go back. Part 2: we went back again tonight for dinner after going there for the first time for lunch. Again all of it was soo good. I HAVE to know the story now about why the street sign ended up being spelled "perubian" instead of Peruvian. Different staff this time, but equally as amazing and knowledgeable. Had such a nice time.
