Well I didn't think it could get any better, but they have knocked it out of the park again! The crawfish were delicious, the mushrooms were spicy. The corn was sweet. The crab legs didn't need any butter and came out of the shell easily. The sausage and potatoes were perfection. There was already a line when I got there a little after 11am. The shrimp are good. Staff is always friendly, super helpful and knowledgeable! They have a scrub that leaves your hands like butter and gets the seasoning off. This place is like a Joe's Crab Shack, but if it felt like home. There are Christmas lights galore and picnic tables to sit at. I cannot recommend this place enough, it's probably the best restaurant in Pensacola! read more

We had lunch at Cub's Crawfish in Pensacola and got our fill of boiled shrimp and crawfish. The staff was really friendly and the restaurant had a fun hole-in-the-wall vibe. There are multiple hand washing stations, self service drinks, and plenty of seating. The crawfish, shrimp, corn, potatoes, sausage, and mushrooms were all good and the boil was good but not very spicy. I definitely recommend Cub's if you are looking for crawfish or peel-and-eat shrimp. read more

Usually a great place to eat. I love the Crawfish , and they're always cooked to perfection. Service is always good. This last visit was a disappointment. Maybe a new cook, or maybe the cook was having a bad hair day, but I did not enjoy my meal today. I had a cup of gumbo and it was way too salty as were the mushrooms. Everything else was just okay. Not worth the price. I'll try again and maybe have a better experience. read more

What a great place to meet friends and hangout on a Friday Night during early Crawfish Season. Understandably the crawfish are small and way over priced, but part of the charm is the great seafood choices we had as well. It was great getting to share the crawfish, shrimp and snow crab. All cooked and seasoned to perfection. The snow crab was the biggest I've scene in awhile, sweet succulent meat was very satisfying. Loved the included mushrooms and sausage. The mushrooms soaked up the boil flavor and paired nicely with the sausage, corn and potatoes. Our shrimp had such a nice taste, very delicious. The crawfish had great flavor and heat, the only issue was the size. almost to small to get anything out of the tails. I liked the order up front and fast delivered to the table concept. The whole vibe was fun and chill. Looking forward to the next visit, hopefully when the prices drop and the crawfish reach full size. Very southern vibes inside and the waitresses were nice. I came to get some crawfish, they were out which was a bummer but I ordered the shrimp basket and some red beans and rice. Came with a corn, sausage, and red potatoes. The shrimp was great, but I didn't care for the corn, potatoes or sausage. If you don't like spicy then maybe don't eat them as they soaked up a lot of the spice. The red beans and rice were okay, nothing to really write about. Tonight was our first time and it was just awesome. Had some family in from out of town and it didn't disappoint! There was a little line which equated to a 35-40 minute wait. I live in Perdido Key and the spring break tourists make the wait time about 3 hours in that area, so this was a dream. Our server knew exactly how to portion us for a family of 5 dining. We had two platters (10 lbs) of crawfish, potatoes, mushrooms, sausage, corn... probably ate the banana pudding for dessert but I'm not telling the crawfish were fresh and a nice size, that's coming from a fisherman / boat captain that was with us. The restaurant was clean, staff was very kind and accommodating, and the food was great! There were plenty of seasonings at the table for us to choose from and hot sauce. This will be a place we continue to enjoy. Will eat here again and again Side note: don't listen to the mediocre reviews on here from people that give Little Caesars a 5 star rating for good pizza. Food is lacking in meaningful flavor. Sure it is spicy but tasting it with your butter of choice or as is feels like it makes no difference. The potatoes were cooked well but once again no flavor, same for the sausage it was alright but it was lacking. The corn was one of the better parts of the crawfish boat but that isn't saying much. I have been to many seafood boils before and I will say this place isn't horrible by any means but it is severely lacking in terms of food being rich in taste. The absolute best crawfish I have ever tasted...and I have eaten a TON of crawfish! I lived in the New Orleans area for several years and ate crawfish during the live season at least 2 to 3 times per week! I've had them at the crawfish festival in Westwego Louisiana and I've had them at the Pensacola crawfish festival and nothing even comes close to the spicy, juicy deliciousness that you'll find at Cubs right here in Pensacola!! The tails come right out without getting stuck! Now that's an art form that comes with MANY years of trial and error!! If you're not into crawfish, don't fret!! They also have other seafood on the menu also from gulf shrimp to Royal Reds and crab legs!! The owner is very hands on and works right alongside the other employees!! My husband and I made an hour drive to eat at Cub's Crawfish the other day, and since then I haven't stopped dreaming of the amazing meal we had! The vibe, service, and food was amazing. We split the crawfish/shrimp boat for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised at how much crawfish it came with. We got a side of Cajun butter which was perfect for dipping. After we finished our meal we spent the whole drive home talking about how great it was! We learned that they will close at the end of July, which is a bummer for us since we just found this gem, but I've already set a reminder for my calendar to check on their reopening date in January. They also sell live crawfish if you are looking to cook them yourself. My poor review is related to the Royal Red shrimp I ordered. It's obvious they are not knowledgeable about how to properly prepare them. You should not boil them like regular shrimp. They are supposed to be deveined and steamed. Otherwise you get gritty shrimp which it was I was served. Very disappointed and had to throw the majority away. Go here if you are looking for good crawfish, but don't order the reds! read more
