I have a ridiculous love for Cajun crawfish so I had to try it. New crawfish/seafood restaurant on the west side of Pensacola. The parking wasn't easy to find because of the corner the restaurant is on, so we parked down the street and walked up. It was worth it. The decor screams Louisiana seafood. The customer service was phenomenal. All of our questions were answered and the suggestion to add mushrooms to our crawfish was appreciated after I had a taste! We got shrimp, crawfish, potatoes, corn and the unexpected mushrooms! So good. The seasoning was on point. I never had mushrooms in my seafood boil, but it's going to be an addition I'll be looking for. I may even add it to my own! I definitely recommend coming here for your crawfish. I love Joe Patti and although you can get crawfish there, i find it too salty. Cubs' seasoning is just right. Expect to pay a pretty penny, however! read more

The spice was just on the verge of too hot for me, but too good not to eat. Luckily, their iced tea is also good. We greatly enjoyed our dinner of a 16 oz Jambalaya plate w/garlic bread and a 1/2 lb shrimp boat w/all the fixings (mushrooms, potatoes, cocktail sauce, corn, and sausage). It was served hot, fresh, and pretty fast. We had an excellent server, the music playing was true New Orleans spirited, and the atmosphere was wonderful. This place was hyped by locals as the "best in town" so we had to go and try. We went on Friday evening about 5pm. The place wasn't overly busy yet. It's a cool building both inside and out and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about what they served. We ( wife and me) ordered 5 lbs of boiled crawfish, a side of sausage and 16 oz order of jambalaya along with two drinks. The bill with tip came just under $80.00. The chicken and sausage Jambalaya was very good and piping hot, the sausage was delicious as well. Now for the crawfish. There was many very small ones, they were muddy as though they weren't purged clean and they were absolutely over cooked and didn't want to come out of the shells. The crawfish were a huge disappointment to us. The crawfish were $7.49 / pound, the 16oz. Jambalaya was $10.50 and the sausage links were $2.50 each. Of the three restaurants we've had crawfish in at Pensacola they come in third. Ahead is Louisiana Crawfish and Seafood at #2 and John Seafood at #1. read more

Absolutely love love love this place! I started going to cubs when they were located off of Lillian Hwy. Excellent food and service. The employees are super friendly and helpful. Everyone checks on you and it is continuous throughout your time there. The food is consistently good. I usually get the crawfish or shrimp boat, come with corn on the cob, 2 potatoes, and conecuh sausage. Salivating just thinking about it. Absolutely amazing! Couldn't recommend this place any more. Great prices for great tasting crawfish! However, I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 for a couple reasons: 1. They were out of tuna dip the day we went. I had my heart set on it. 2. They were also out of jambalaya, which my husband was looking forward to since he doesn't eat seafood. He ordered the red beans and rice instead and they were way too salty. It tasted like straight salt. 3. They told us the banana pudding was homemade but it tasted like vanilla pudding with one or two bites of banana. Tasty, yes, but definitely didn't seem to be homemade. If you look at this business site, you won't see much. There was construction going on in front right off the street. They have a small parking lot in the rear. This is not a good part of town, due to the addicts. Fortunately, this business owner has his people watching the back parking lot. Upon entering the restaurant you can clearly see the owner is busy remodeling this location. On one side of the building was the hot table where the food was stored. On the other side of the building was tables and seating. Now this location is not offering the same menu as their Lillian Highway location. It appears they are just offering boiled shrimp, boiled crawfish, a crawfish boat and a shrimp boat. So no Bar B Que shrimp, Jambalaya, seafood bisque, red beans and rice or crawfish étouffée. The food is served in styrofoam with a cardboard tray and no silverware so get ready to use your fingers. The shrimp boat, which I had, consisted of a dozen boiled peel and eat shrimp, sausage, two potatoes, 1/2 ear of corn, and mushrooms. All were cooked to PERFECTION. Everything was boiled in cajun spices so the food did have a bit. I thoroughly enjoyed this lunch. The owner sat and talked with me as I ate. He has major plans for this location. If he accomplishes half of those plans, this restaurant will be a premier dining experience. Since this location has only been open two months, he just needs time. What makes this place interesting is the feeling of family. If you are looking for some where fancy, this place is not for you. If you are looking for GREAT cajun shrimp or crawfish, then this place is for you. This place is definitely worth a second visit!!! read more

We have always enjoyed our experience here previously, but consistency is always key right? I just love the cajun spicy boil smell when you walk into this laid back restaurant. The service is always southern friendly with speedy service. The jambalaya had an amazing depth of flavor; and was extremely fresh and moist. I absolutely love their slightly spicy seafood bisque, which is extremely thin for a bisque to me, but the depth of flavor in this creamy "soup" is just phenomenal. The bisque was also over loaded with plenty of corn and crab, but I didn't find any shrimp or crawfish in it. We also shared a shrimp boat, which had tasty corn, delicious potatoes, amazing mushrooms, and a yummy piece of sausage. The shrimp, today, didn't seem to be as fresh as usual, but still was good and edible. I can say I've had better seafood from this restaurant, but maybe today was just an off day for shrimp. By far, CUBs is my favorite place to eat in Pensacola!!! I have been here once, maybe twice a week for the last 3 weeks. The staff is wonderful! The crawfish boat is well AMAZING!!! My first time going, our waitress Sabrina was the sweetest thing. Made me and my buddy laugh the whole lunch, brought me an Andy Gator, and I fell in love! After we were done destroying 2 lbs of crawfish, I asked if she had lemon and salt so I can freshen my hands up. She said.... "We got homemade scrub next to the sink, you go try that and tell me how you feel" I'm telling ya, they need to slap that scrub in a bottle and put the CUBs name with it. And go worldwide!! One of my last times going, my buddy challenged me to 5 lbs crawfish, Sabrina heard us talking and said "well damn, I can eat 8 lbs by myself" So I felt challenged and went for 8.
