    South of the Border Bowl

LOVE Tropical Grille! South of the Boarder bowl is always my go to! They give you large portions which I love! Definitely get your moneys worth. Love their jalapeño garlic sauce signature sauce. Yum!!!

three bowls of sauce on a counter

Love this location. The food is consistently fresh and delicious. The service is great too, and the staff is very friendly. However one complaint and this has been a problem for awhile. Tropical Grille, y'all please stop skimping on the sauces. It's quite ridiculous to pay these prices and then only given half a container of sauce, especially when the small cup containers themselves are half the size as they were a couple years ago. Just opened our to-go bag with three big plates of food, flipped the lids off these pitiful cups, and found this. A little annoyed.

NIce clean place with bright lights. Had music playing in the background. Wooden tables with metal chairs. Not the most comfortable but suffice. We ordered the Cuban sandwich which had much more roasted pork than ham on it. Had several pickles on it which was good. We also ordered the vegetarian wrap. It was decent but more of a pita than a wrap. The home run was the baked sweet plantains. They were very enjoyable. Not dried out and tasted amazing.

Got the Classic Deluxe bowl with sweet and sour sauce! And if you listen to me I won't steer ya wrong. You got to try it. Service was clean, courteous and prompt. If ya got to run it it only takes 6-7 minutes to calm your taste buds. So don't forget to make your decision quick, go by Tropical Grill to get your stomach filled!

Tropical Grille is a winning combination: It's delicious and cheap. Also, I need to be lost in the sauce. They will more than fulfill that. I always get the cuban chicken wrap with an order of Yuka fries. They have a half dozen or so sauces to choose from and even give you the entire bottle for you order. I always go with the Steph Curry sauce and the Jalapeno sauce. They have that chicken grilling right for you to see when you walk in. They display that thing right in front of your face. They don't try to hide it like Chipotle does. In all seriousness, I love these places. They have a couple sprinkled throughout Greenville and I really hope they put a restaurant in Columbia one of these days. This is a must eat if you live in Greenville and a must try if you're from out of town.

I had food from here over a year ago and wasn't impressed and hadn't had anything else since. My husband bought me food from here yesterday and I don't know if they improved their menu or if I chose the wrong thing the first time, but this time, my oh my was everything delicious!! I tried the Cuban sandwich for the first time and it is sooooo good! The pork roast and ham was moist and full of flavor, and the cheese and pickles add just the right touch. This sandwich is HUGE. I could only eat half of it. I do suggest you put it in the oven for about 10-15 minutes if it gets lukewarm or cold. If you're going to eat this, you want to eat it right. So it should be eaten hot or very warm. You won't be disappointed. I also had the South of the Border Bowl, and it was full of chicken, yellow rice, cheese and other goodies. It is very tasty and filling. My husband got me the large and I couldn't finish it. I had a lot left over for later. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the food. Whatever they did to make it better, I hope they keep it that way.

I had the South of the Border with seasoned vegetables. There's grilled chopped chicken breast, lettuce, tomatoes, quacamole, sour cream, cheddar cheese, salsa over yellow rice. The seasoned vegetables was a mixture of orange and yellow carrots with broccoli and cauliflower. I really enjoyed this, don't forget to get your VIP card, after five visits you get a free chop!! I recommend trying Tropical Grille, I think you'll like it as much as I do! SOMEBODY PLEASE COME TO TROPICAL GRILLE IN EASLEY AND TEACH THEM HOW TO COOK!! When it first opened it was really good, but the last two times I've been the bread is hard, the chicken is burned and tough!!

The place a bit hidden if you are using a map app to get to it the first time but once you find it, easy parking and it a great location. The food here was great. I got the Cuban bowl. Yellow rice, black beans and chicken. It was very good. They have 3 sauces to add to your meal. A curry, ranch(maybe) and some sort of spicy jalapeño type sauce. Beware, this one has a kick but I loved it. It's best to put the sauce on the side and use a little at a time with your meal instead of pouring the sauce on your whole bowl, just in case you don't like it. Great food, great staff and great low prices.

So-so.....got a steak sandwich, my wife & mother-in-law ordered the chicken. Good spacing with tables but was surprised no one was wearing a mask behind the counter/grill. The staff was friendly, no table service, but I tipped 15% anyway. Cheers

Tropical Grille (a.k.a. Tropical Chicken Grill) is surprisingly delicious. This small strip mall restaurant serves Cuban food, fresh and fast. There are three locations in/around Greenville. This one can be found in the same shopping center as the Publix on Pelham Rd. It's on the lower level of the property and actually faces Pelham Commons Blvd. Once you see the tiki patio umbrellas, you know you've arrived. This is a quick, casual, and no-frills eatery. The inside of the restaurant amounts to one big room with a bunch of tables, brightly colored walls (red, green, yellow), a TV, and an open kitchen. The space looks relatively new. Similar to Chipotle, ordering is done upfront and your order is prepared and ready for you almost instantly. A large grill sits on display behind a glass window next to the ordering counter so you can see the ingredients being cooked fresh. The restaurant serves "Tropical Chops," which amount to bowls of white or yellow rice topped with a meat and small slice of pita bread. There are also wraps and sandwiches along with salads and a limited selection of sides such as sweet plantains, seasoned veggies, and yuca fries. Meat options include chopped chicken breast and 12-hour-marinated, slow-roasted pork. There's also a nice selection of scrumptious sauces to put on the meat. Regular sized bowls cost about $7-9 each while large bowls cost about $8-10 each. I think the regular size bowl suits most individuals just fine. If you've ever had a Chipotle burrito bowl, the regular size bowl at Tropical Grille is comparable. I've tried both the Cuban Chop and the Roasted Cuban Pork Chop. Both are tasty, though I think I'm partial to the pork here. The Cuban Chop comes with chopped chicken breast (chopped as in cubed, almost) with black beans, white rice, and a slice of pita bread. The Roasted Cuban Pork Chop comes with slow-roasted shredded pork with black beans, white rice, and a slice of pita bread. You can substitute yellow rice for white rice if you desire. I recommend it. Whether you order white or yellow rice, the rice is soft and moist. The black beans are warm, hearty, and comforting. The chicken breast is indeed fresh and tender. Lightly or barely seasoned, it expectedly doesn't have much taste, but that's where the sauces come in. The sauces are great. I've tried the Mustard Curry, Garlic Cilantro, and Jalapeno Garlic sauces. I can't say I have a favorite as they are all quite good and make a significant difference in the enjoyment of the meal. In general, the sauces are light, creamy, addictive, and full of flavor. The roasted pork is fine without sauce. The meat is succulent and juicy on its own. I love it. Service is good. Orders are processed via tablets and receipts are sent electronically (signatures too). The restaurant is clean and the employees are polite and work efficiently.

Advertised salads state they have romaine and the displayed pictures show a bed of green lettuce. Husband and I ordered 1 garden and 2 Caesar salads and received salads with an anemic bed of shredded iceberg lettuce. The chicken was well flavored enough to pick out but super disappointing!

When I come in, I wanna feel good and be welcomed with a friendly face instead of feeling at times like I'm a bother for even coming in... Maybe it's close to their closing time however they continuously change your hours so it's really hard not to do that sometimes. Most recent time I went in I forgot I had a punchcard I wanted to use, however unfortunately, it was in my other purse and unfortunately, the person who took care of me didn't offer to give me a new one or when I come in next time I can get two or anything. this definitely was a missed opportunity and left me feeling like I wasn't appreciated as a customer. For a business that is not getting a lot of business I would think they would go above and beyond anytime and chance that they get whenever faced with a customer or potential customers! My wife and I recently tried Augusta Street Market twice, sampling three different offerings from…read moretheir "New York Deli with Southern Style" menu. First off, if you know the Augusta Road area (as it's known locally) you know it's a narrow, heavily congested retail corridor dividing expensive neighborhoods from very expensive neighborhoods. This market sits far enough south of the usual cluster of restaurants and shops that you'll think you missed it -- twice. If you know where the Spinx near Blythe Academy is, Augusta Street Market is across the street and one block south. The store itself is bright, white, and very open. It was clearly something else years ago before being remodeled into this interesting venue. There's seating out front, on a side patio, and along the front windows. Parking in front is limited to maybe three spots, but there's additional parking behind the building. Just take Club Drive along the side and park in back. In the center of the store is a large X-shaped shelving system loaded with curated goodies: crackers, pretzels, spices, honey, olives, teas, chips, dried pasta, sauces, Greenville's own Poppington's popcorn flavors, and more. A cooler along the far wall holds drinks and desserts. The deli area and serving counter are completely open to the kitchen. We haven't visited during a rush, but it feels like the place could quickly turn into a fast-moving NYC-style sandwich machine when busy. The staff has been patient with first-time customers, taking time to walk people through the menu and options. On my second visit, the gentleman behind the counter was literally packed and ready to leave for the day when I walked in. He saw me and immediately acted as though he still had several hours left in his shift -- which, so far, feels far more "Southern Style" than "New York Deli." But the real reason to come here is the sandwiches. The lunch and early dinner menu is split into HOT and COLD categories. The hot sandwiches include eleven options featuring chicken, beef, turkey, tuna salad, shrimp, pastrami, a black bean burger, and a three-cheese grilled sandwich. The cold sandwiches feature eleven more combinations of cold cuts, turkey, chicken breast, chicken salad, and specialty cheeses. On our first visit, we split the Waverly: roasted turkey with melted sharp cheddar, cherry jam, and black pepper Dijon on grilled milk bread. It was piled high and easily large enough for two people to share. The sandwich was flavorful and generous, with bread that felt like part of the experience rather than simply a vehicle for the fillings. It immediately made us want to come back. The Waverly was $16, with most sandwiches ranging from $13 to $18. The deli salads include chicken salad, tuna salad, sweet berry salad, cucumber salad, potato salad, caprese salad, coleslaw, grape crunch salad, and macaroni salad. Pimento cheese and egg salad are also available, though I didn't spot them in the case. Chip options include several Carolina Kettle flavors along with Zapp's and Deep River chips. Drinks include canned sodas, teas, lemonade, and the expected coffeehouse coffee selections. On our second visit, I grabbed sandwiches to meet my wife for a picnic. This time we ordered the Canal ($14) and the Bleeker ($17). The Canal is a tuna salad sandwich with dill pickles, melted Gruyère, fresh dill, and grilled wheat bread. It was good, though I think I might actually prefer it served cold. Like the Waverly, it was generously portioned, so the $14 price carried no regrets. The Bleeker was a stacked Italian sandwich with assorted cold cuts, provolone, shredded iceberg lettuce, shaved onion, cherry pepper relish, oregano, oil, and vinegar on a hero roll. Again, piled high and beautifully assembled, it never felt overpriced. The bun wasn't merely sprinkled with sesame seeds -- it was completely coated in them. Once again, the bread was a co-star, not a background extra. The plan was for each of us to eat half of each sandwich. My wife could barely finish her half of the Bleeker. I powered through the Canal and most of the Bleeker, saving the final half of the Italian sandwich for breakfast the next morning. (What? Never had an Italian deli sammich for breakfast? Expand your palates!) Augusta Street Market also offers entrée salads along with tomato bisque and chicken noodle soup. There's a kids menu featuring PB&J, ham and cheese, turkey and cheese, and grilled cheese sandwiches. The breakfast menu looks worth exploring as well, with fried egg sandwiches featuring bacon, cheeses, pastrami, ham, sausage, and avocado. There's also whipped ricotta on a bagel. Breakfast sandwiches range from $8 to $13. Definitely give this place a try. Check out their website for all the extra options, or just ask at the counter. These artisans are proud of their work. I've also heard a second location may soon be opening in Clemson.

No they are the ones who didnt give me my item. Its almost a month and I still havent received my refund. To me they stole my money. I paid for something but did not get it and they kept my money and put me off every time I called.

My biggest problem with every Jimmy John's is the loudness of the music. I understand it is designed that way intentionally to encourage quick customer turnover. I actually looked it up and got this, "loud music stimulates a subconscious feeling of being in a fast-paced environment, which encourages customers to eat quicker and leave sooner. Ultimately, the loud music is a deliberate environmental cue designed to align with the brand's 'freaky fast' service model, focusing on efficiency rather than a leisurely meal." Well, they hit the mark, congratulations, Jimmy John's. But I can honestly say that on more than a handful of times, I have passed by JJ to get to Jersey Mike's for this reason. The only saving grace is speedy service on to-go orders and outdoor seating areas. We just agree to disagree on this one thing.

Ron the district manager "confirmed" with me that the home office was issuing a refund but now it has been more than 20 days since he told me that. Nate the store manager was kind when I spoke with him several times about the issue and seemed to understand my frustration. Prior to this experience, I had enjoyed the food at this location.
