I made reservations to celebrate a girlfriend's bday on a Friday night. The place doesn't have parking attached so you'll have to do some walking from/to restaurant. I didn't expect it to be as tiny as it it inside the "waiting" area, there's no seats or anything which i get but was a bit awkward just standing in the way. Sitting area is super chill, aesthetically pleasing, clean and amazing lighting. Loved it honestly but it's mostly a 1-1 date kinda spot. Now to the food, we ordered a couple plates/appetizers to share. * probadita (cheese dip, honey sunflower seeds & esquite & chips) 6/10 [complimentary to us] * aguachile de camaron (HUGE fan but i was disappointed. No flavor at all 4/10) * pulpo en poblano asado (decently ok but not the best 5/10) * elote asado (flavor wise 9/10 but it was hard to eat bc you cannot use utensils but i get down lol, still good) * ensalada de pollo asado (very decent. Dressing was good 8/10) * guajillo braised short rib (yummmm. The pure was blended esquite (corn) sooooo good 8/10) * sorbet plate (flavors were good. 8/10) - DRINKS (allll were very yum 9/10) **** SERVICE? Amazing, Abigail was very informative, professional and very attentive. 10/10 ****

I have to say, I was unfortunately a little disappointed with Cuevacia. After trying to get 2 bar spots every Friday for MONTHS (I wish this was an exaggeration), we finally got a spot last Friday. First off, the building itself is beautiful. The outside is so cool and the inside is equally gorgeous. Second, the staff and mixologists are absolutely wonderful and so friendly. It's hard to find a bar with good sherry, and the manager helped us find a bottle to try. They also brought out a little amuse bouche of queso, seed bars, and elote. Such a cute idea! The drinks were phenomenal, we tried the Esperanza and the Vida Eterna. No notes, they were delicious. I will definitely be returning for the cocktails. We weren't very hungry, so we only tried the Short Rib Empanadas. They were okay. I truly wish I had a better adjective. The amount of short rib was so small, it was mostly corn shell. The sauce that comes at the bottom is delicious, but it doesn't make up for the lack of short rib. For $14 for 2 empanadas, they need to be exceptional. I had to dip my empanada in the leftover queso from the amuse bouche to make it taste better. I truly don't think I would order an entree from here. $20+ for 3 tacos is a little excessive. I was also checking out some of the entrees near us, and the enchiladas just looked so dry. I just feel that for the prices they are charging, there needs to be more sauce or flavor or something.

The peppercorn crusted steak was sooo flavorful and juicy. But I ordered medium but came medium well.

My girlfriend and I met up for a much-needed girls' night, and the ambiance at Cuevacia is undeniably sexy, sophisticated, and perfect for catching up over cocktails. The only downside? The restaurant doesn't have its own restrooms, so guests have to leave the restaurant and use the Colony Square restrooms, which takes away a bit from the overall experience. For drinks, I ordered the Paraíso (Reposado Tequila, Blood Orange, Sugar Beets, Ginger, Tarragon, and Lime), which was refreshing and well-balanced. My friend had the Adoración (Uruapan Añejo Rum, Tamarind Cordial, Aguardiente, Coconut, and Pineapple), and she thoroughly enjoyed it. We started with the Elote Asado, featuring charred corn, lime, cotija, chile powder, and crema. It was flavorful and a great way to start the meal. We also shared the Short Rib Empanadas, filled with guajillo-braised beef short rib, Chihuahua cheese, chipotles, and mole verde. These were absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the Tacos de Pescado with mahi mahi, fried in a light masa tempura batter and topped with poblano crema, grapefruit, cabbage slaw, and salsa verde. Served with rice and beans, this dish was a standout--fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My friend ordered the Pescado con Pistachios, which featured trout with an adobo rub and pistachio pepita crust. The fish itself was very good, but there were a lot of pistachios, which slightly overpowered the dish. For dessert, we shared two options. The Chocolate Tres Leches Cake was fantastic. Even as someone who isn't typically a tres leches fan, I found it rich, moist, and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the Churros de Lujo were disappointing. They didn't taste fresh and would have been much better served hot with a scoop of ice cream. The mango and dulce de leche sauces were presented as tiny dots on the plate--far too little to actually enjoy or taste. This is one dessert I would skip on a future visit. Overall, Cuevacia delivers on atmosphere, cocktails, and most of the food. I'd definitely return for drinks, appetizers, and the fish tacos, but I'd pass on the churros next time.

A new gem has entered the Atlanta scene! I got the pleasure of checking out Cuevacia this past weekend. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The restaurant is simply beautiful with the first floor having tables that look like small caves and the 2nd floor having seating that transports you to an hacienda balcony. The decor is authentically Mexican. To say this restaurant is gorgeous is an understatement. You start off being greeted by your server that presents you with a small tasting dish that the chef has curated for you to open up your palate. Not only that the servers are also bilingual, in case you want to practice your Spanish skills! The food focuses on the states of Central Mexico. This is not your typical Tex Mex food, it's authentic southern Mexican food. We ordered a plethora of dishes with the banana leaf tamales & quesadilla grande being our favorite. The plates are a masterpiece, imaginatively stimulating your eyes. Needless to say that flavors don't fall short. We were too full to order dessert but plan on coming back to explore the Mexican Hot Chocolate and churros. There is Valet Parking available or you can also self park. They do 2 hours of validated self-parking in the Colony Square parking deck. I immensely recommend this restaurant for a food adventure or a cozy date night! I will be back to enjoy more of their delectable cuisine. Cuevacia has unquestionably earned a 5 star review.

Beautiful restaurant. You forget you're in midtown. It feels like you in a cave side restaurant in MX. Food was good. I ordered the tacos de pescado... I've had better fish tacos. I'll go back to try other things though like the braised beef empanadas. The service was good... young temperamental waiter was chatty toward the end. Managers present and talking to tables. Pretty, friendly with good enough food.

!! Make a reservation !! it will be worth it. It felt like an experience with the server (Loved Alejandra) explaining the dishes and the restaurant. The manager came over and checked with us throughout the meal. All our meals were flavorful - i particularly liked their green lime sauce. There were two labeled vegetarian options but sounded like they could tweak another to work! And they give you a postcard to write to someone at the end of the meal and they will mail it!!

When a new restaurant of this caliber opens in Atlanta, the eternal buzz begins envelop both the physical establishment as well as all the social presence. Reservations are impossible to get, influencers are all there for a complimentary meal and it seems like a legendary concert came to town with the amount of excitement in the air. Cuevacia, is currently in this stage in early 2026 and a few months from now, the buzz will die down. The question then will remain: can Cuevacia deliver? That is to be determined, but we can certainly reflect on the initial impressions today. The Oaxacan kitchen is one of the most underrepresented in the US, despite being acclaimed as the top food destination in Mexico. Known for its famous mole as well as being the top mezcal producer in the country, it's a Mecca of traditional culture. Cuevacia delivers on mezcal, with an extremely substantive list and upmost quality selections. The service is great despite struggling within the influx of influencers at the time of the visit. The mole with slow roasted meats is a great combo as well. One more thing...the design. Cuevacia is unquestionably one of the most beautiful restaurants in Atlanta. The team did a truly remarkable job with the stone enclosed booths, creating an ambiance that genuinely transforms guests from a metropolis to a small Oaxacan village. Cuevacia is unquestionably worth a visit.

Came for Saturday brunch with a girlfriend. We did not have reservations but we were seated immediately upon arrival. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! You feel like you're in another country. The decor and music really make the atmosphere pop. Our server was so sweet and gave us recommendations. We started with the chorizo queso and empanadas. Both were delicious! You have to get them. I ordered the chorizo sandwich and potatoes. It was so good! They had so many different options on the menu it was hard to decide. So I will definitely be back to try more items.

Food, atmosphere, drinks, all amazing. I went with a group of five so we tried a lot! Mocktails and cocktails are all mixed to perfection and fresh! Highly recommend the quac as an app and the French toast. The French toast was a delicious pastry that didn't even need the syrup to make it tastes great. The chicken tinga tacos were super flavorful as well as the verde burrito. They were out of the birria which was disappointing because I'm sure it would've been amazing!

Had the BEST experience at Cuevacia. The food was absolutely delicious. Think authentic Mexican cuisine with an upscale feel. Their menu has a ton of options (huge plus for me) so there is certainly something for everyone. I love mole, and got their pork mole dish which was super tender with mole negro and in-house made tortillas. The drinks we got were certainly on the sweeter side for my preference, but I'd definitely go back to explore other drink options in the future. Their guac was really good and had mango which was different. My friend also got the birria tacos and said it was the best birria she's ever had. The service was likewise amazing -- our waitress gave us plenty of recommendations and came to check in on us often. I'd recommend giving Cuevacia a try.

Stopped in for a quick girls lunch. I advise setting a ressy for a Saturday. The inside is gorgeous and the service is wonderful- better than i have witnessed in Atl for some time now. My non alcoholic drink was the Hibiscus aguas frescas - absolutely amazing, and the girls' alcoholic beverages were all crafted beautifully and with great flavor. For lunch: - Guacamole: 10/10. great flavor, seasoned, and with hint of sweeteness with diced mangoes. - the Chorizo sandwich was okay. It had more bread and sauce than seasoned chorizo. I wanted the Tamale but they ran out early so that may be worth trying. Definitely a spot to visit for the drinks and ambiance but the establishment should improve on the food if they want to stand out.

I have to admit I was super pumped about this place opening because colony square could always use a good restaurant and I wanted to love it!!! But I couldn't. I will give them this. Cuevacia has the vibes and a great staff. Super friendly and made sure we had what we needed and their booths are these little tables in alcoves which make it feel super private. So great vibe. But.. I will give them this also I loved my cocktail. I got the blood orange mezcal one and it was divine. The rest of our apps.... Okay. The guac was fine but their version of ceviche was disappointing. This will be the main theme of the review but I've had better and paid less. For our mains, we shared the braised beef, the trout, elote and corn soup. I wish the elote came off the cob so it was easier to share but we loved the soup. The beef and the trout were good... but like I said I've paid less and gotten better. I wish for the price point the food experience was more unique but I would go back for drinks and apps.

I also enjoyed the pulpit, thought it had a nice char to it and a good flavor. I really enjoyed my pork belly tacos! The tortilla was so fresh and the toppings were refreshing that complimented the fatty pork well. I really liked the sauces here honestly, it complimented everything well and made me eat so many chips as well. The service was very nice and attentive.

Right when we walked in, the staff complained to us that we hadn't called ahead to have a "smaller, special menu" crafted for a large party. To make matters worse, they loudly announced to the whole table right off rip that they wouldn't split checks separately--only an even split. It felt incredibly rude, lazy, and unwelcoming. The irony is that the large group size wasn't even an issue; we staggered our arrivals and the patio was completely empty. The kicker- my brother in law ended up paying the whole tab at the end anyways! so all of that initial laziness & nastiness for NOTHING! Throughout the night, the service felt incredibly rushed and stressed. While we were still eating our appetizers, the busser was aggressively trying to clear our plates because the mains were coming. Our server was very short with us the entire time, which was confusing because the restaurant didn't even have a stressful vibe. She recommended a main dish to me that I really didn't care for, though I will say the salsa was unique and probably the best part of the meal. Shoutout to the one staff member who was actually friendly, but overall, this is not the kind of place where you leave feeling like you had a nice restaurant experience- at least I personally didn't.. Too bad we didn't just go to C&S next door which we always love. Regardless tho, my sister had a blast, but that's entirely because she has a wonderful crew of great friends, not because of Casi Cielo.

They have quickly become my favorite place to get Mexican food. Let's get into it! Location and Parking They are located on Buford Highway in a small shopping plaza. The lot is medium sized, but they are sharing it with a few other businesses, and depending on the night it could definitely be hard to find a spot so keep that in mind. Venue and Atmosphere The venue is decently sized with both booths and regular tables. There are beautiful paintings hung all over, and the decorations that make you feel like you've stepped into a little part of Mexico. Atmosphere is super casual and comfortable. Food and drinks Now the menu here is massive. Take your time and prepare to be overwhelmed, because everything sounds amazing. Here's a breakdown of what we got each time. 1st visit - El Rey Del Taco Parrillada It's meant to be shared with two people, and comes with a pound of beef ribs, your choice of chicken or al pastor meat, six shrimp wrapped in bacon, with melted cheese and chorizo, plus tortillas and charro beans. It was just as delicious as it sounds. 2nd visit - Tacos The pastor con queso and the shrimp al pastor with cheese, onions, and al pastor sauce. You're welcome. 3rd visit - Fajitas Fajitas Texanas, with steak chicken and shrimp. There are 7 different combinations of sides that you can get. We got white rice, salad, and charro beans. This can also be shared, which my wife and I did. Speaking of the charro beans, they have the best beans I have ever had. For drinks I got the supreme regular mango margarita. My wife got strawberry. Both great. Service Food came out fast, but other than that the service was a little slow. Our waitress was nice, but it did seem that she forgot about us for a little while. The food was so good that I forgave it, plus at the end of the day I got everything I needed. Verdict If you're looking for amazing food and drinks, this is absolutely the place to get it. It just might end up being your favorite too! Until next time!
