The food was absolutely amazing! Tacos, queso, chips, salsa, all rocked our taste buds. The prices are higher than average from my (informal only) neighborhood experiences that were comparable. I'd still go back though, they were not outrageous. My only complaint was the staff seemed pushy throughout our service. For example, we were a table of 6 and wanted to split the large queso into 2 small bowls and they said they couldn't do that, so we asked if we could have a bowl to do it ourselves, and he insisted we just get two larges, which of course went unfinished and went to waste, not to mention the cost. Then at the end of our meal, the servers were nowhere to be found, which was just a little weird but not that bothersome while we chatted & waited. One more note for parties - they did not allow splitting the check, which is one of those things that's not a deal breaker but a tiny bit annoying. read more

This is definitely a great goal to spot with your girls. The food was high and fresh. It was a big group with us and they got our orders correctly. Our server was very polite. It's a cute little spot. Very limited parking in the back. Drinks were delicious. I got the Guava-Tini and a Mojito. They were both very refreshing. My friend got the lychee-Rita. It was cute and she said it was delicious. We sat on the patio area. It's perfect for a nice day. Dogs are allowed on the patio! It is a little pricey here I would say. For two drinks, one taco, and the guac, and cheese split between 3 people, I ended up spending $45ish. But it's a good spot for after work drinks. I had actually discovered this place a while back while on another food adventure. They had me at tamales. Now I will admit. I thought $17 was a bit high for a tamale dinner. However I still ordered it cause my love for tamales was stronger. Then when they arrived, I saw exactly why they charge what they do. They were HUGE. The things that accompanied it was great too. That being the rice and a Tostoda looking thing. The service was OK. I felt like the server could have been a bit more attentive. The prices seemed to be a mixed bag. There was cheap things and expensive things. I only glanced at the drink prices. Some of them seem to be high,IMO. However my over all experience was great. I will come back. A friend and I met at La Hacienda for lunch on Memorial Day before seeing a movie at the plaza across Monroe Drive. I arrived first and parked on the street in the neighborhood behind the restaurant. They do have some parking in a private lot adjacent to the restaurant, but that day it got cordoned off. I'm not sure if they were using it as valet-only or if it was being sold for festival-goers headed to Piedmont Park. So, you may wish to park in a block or two away, just to be on the safe side. There is a small neighborhood across Monroe Drive also, that does not appear to get as much PP traffic, so that may also be a viable parking option. The restaurant has a large ground-floor indoor dining area. They offered us outside seating, but it was lightly raining. I'm honestly not sure if that was out front...? I noticed driving by that they also appeared to have a rooftop deck (half covered and half open) but it was not available for lunch. I'd be interested in dining up there in nicer weather. Our server seated us and was fairly attentive. As it was a weekday, they did have lunch specials. We both chose one. Drinks came out promptly along with chips and salsa. The entrees showed up a bit later. Portions were adequate. I had no trouble finishing a taco/enchilada combo, plus some rice. The dinner menu seemed to offer even more choices. I'm glad we stopped in and I might opt to go back to have dinner on their deck/balcony at some point. read more

Food is excellent, but DO NOT get deliver from here. Three times in the past month I ordered DoorDash from here. The first two times, items were left out. The second of the two times, we received steak fajitas rather than tofu fajitas (I'm vegetarian). I am close enough that both times the manager did deliver corrections to make good on the order. Tonight, AGAIN, items were left off. Third strike. I don't have time to stand out front to wait on the delivery and then wait on the manager to deliver the corrected items. The table got a mix of burritos, quesadillas and tacos and no one was happy with their meals. Lacked flavor and felt like a can of tomato sauce poured on. Seasoning for the seafood was good but the shrimp wasn't very fresh- had the weird soggy/mushy texture. Did not try the beans because of the meat. Chips and salsa were good! Frozen margaritas were on our table within seconds, and Louis assisted our table in determining very quickly that we required a pitcher of such. We also ordered piña dish (chicken, fish and shrimp cooked with onions, served in a pineapple) and Jalisco tacos (steak and chorizo). Good but I wish the piña dish had chunks of pineapple for a burst of flavor. It's also served with rice and fries which is very random. I asked for tortillas instead. I was pretty disappointed with this place. Valet is mandatory unless you walk there, and the parking lot is a tight squeeze. Don't park in the trader joe's lot or you'll be towed. Our waiter was very nice. Honestly the food was just okay. I went for something less heavy and got the bowl which I enjoyed. Unfortunately, this is where the bad part starts. I guess our waiter thought that we weren't going to tip. I never read/saw anything about an auto-grat policy, but I could be wrong. He auto-gratted us at 18% (I was going to tip 25%...). Then after he took our cards to swipe, when he brought the final receipt back, we learned that WE had to pay the 3% credit card processing fee. Again, some places do this, but it's usually very clearly stated somewhere. My friend is always raving about this place, so naturally when were hangry and couldn't find parking at Piedmont Park for the farmers market, we decided to come here. I got a HUGE grapefruit drink and felt like I could barely make a dent in it and was tipsy less than halfway through. The chips and salsa and tacos were delicious and service was excellent. I went here on a Friday night with three other friends. There was no wait and we sat outside so I would recommend that if the weather is nice. First off the parking situation was great there were plenty of spaces in the back, but they did have required valet. We started off with Mango Margaritas for the table and they were really well made. Not too sweet and not overpowering at all. I would get these or another fruit flavored margarita. As a vegetarian I ordered the veggie burrito which I highly recommend. Although it looked unassuming at first, The vegetables were well prepared and seasoned that it was extremely tasty. It tasted good with the cheese and sauce that they served. I recommend adding additional spicy salsa to pour on top. It didn't come with beans or rice on the side, but I added some from my friends fajitas and it did taste better. Used to be a favorite spot of ours years ago, so we had to revisit. It looks in a bit of disrepair, with the walls being half patched but not yet painted.... Not a big deal, but the more disappointed I was after we had the food. I just didn't feel well after, they might be using MSG, not sure ... but all of us felt bloated and lethargic. With outdoor seating RIGHT off Monroe, La Hacienda has been a spot I've wanted to try since I move to this area. I luckily live riiiiight by and I can't believe I've just gone for the first time! It's phenomenal! First, the margarita choices were out of this world. I just wanted a plain jane marg, but they had me choose between the regular, skinny or *~organic*` and I, of course, went fo the organic. It was perfecto. Not too sweet, but also not too sour. They used fresh lime juice instead of sour mix. It was sweetened with agave and it was incredible! My friend ordered the skinny margarita, which tasted very similar. The menu was overwhelming, to say the least. Everything looked phenomenal, and to make it even more challenging, we happened to go during their Sunday brunch, which lasts until 4 pm on Sundays. I decided on the shrimp fajitas and my friend ordered tamales. The shrimp were perfectly gcooked and seasoned so well! I did not try the tamales because I am allergic to corn. He said they were the best ones he's found in Atlanta. This restaurant is a little pricey, but you're definitely paying for quality!
