We ordered grilled snapper and tilapia and both were delicious. The guy gave us a sample of the soup and it was also amazing. We will def be back!

Great food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Fried snapper with all the fixings and whole chicken with all the fixings were 10/10

Branzino with beans and rice!

you can't get better than this. Always fresh, a lot of variety, friendly staff. I get the half chicken at least once a week.

Despite the seafood-focused name, this spot serves exceptional soufflé pancakes. Securing a brunch…read morereservation can take some effort and timing, but the generous portion sizes and food quality make the visit worthwhile. And OH MY FLUFFY - The soufflé pancakes are massive, fluffy, and a clear menu standout. While the crème brûlée soufflé pancakes are good, they lean a bit on the sweet side. Surprisingly, the savory breakfast plate with eggs and hashbrowns was my favorite. Pro tip - skip the cube toast and save room for the pancakes! The drinks are very instagrammable though the flavor profiles are relatively standard. The staff is exceptionally friendly, and the outdoor seating setup adds a pleasant, relaxed vacation vibe to the brunch experience.

It blew the puffcakes out of the water. They should consider a name change! Unfortunately, the service didn't live up to the food. We waited 15 minutes for a server, another 20 for our lattes, and nearly an hour after ordering for our food. Our server even came over with the check because she thought we had already eaten and our table cleared but was shocked to learn our food hadn't even arrived yet. The outdoor seating could also use some updating, with awkwardly placed table legs that didn't lend to a four top and peeling tabletops. Overall, I'm glad I tried this viral spot, but I don't think the food was worth the long wait.

The outside and inside of the place was very clean and plenty of room around the tables. When we walked in, they were playing 90s R&B, it was lively, definitely had an excellent vibe! Shout out to our waitress, Lexi for giving us good advice on which flavors to go for, drinks to try and dessert! Great service! We're pretty well-versed in seafood boils so it was nice to see that there was one available. We decided to go with a pound of headless shrimp and half pound of black mussels with the captain Louis sauce, and medium level hot. We asked to sample the extra hot in the xx-hot, since we weren't familiar with their spices. Definitely loved the hot! We ended up tossing in the hot into the bag, mixed it up, it was a great mix! I'd come back for sure if I'm in the area again.

Capt Loui brings the classic Cajun seafood boil experience to Providence with a lively, casual…read moreatmosphere that encourages you to dig in and embrace the mess. Located on Brook Street near Brown University, the restaurant has a bright, nautical-inspired interior where tables are covered in butcher paper and guests are handed bibs and gloves before the food arrives. The energetic setting fits perfectly with the interactive style of dining, making it a fun spot for sharing a meal with friends or family. The seafood boils are the clear highlight of the menu. You can build your own combination with options like snow crab legs, king crab, shrimp, crawfish, and green mussels, then choose your preferred sauce and spice level. The signature Capt Loui sauce was my favorite, combining rich garlic butter with Cajun seasoning that added plenty of flavor without overpowering the seafood itself. The sweet corn, potatoes, and Cajun sausage rounded out the boil nicely, soaking up the extra sauce and making the meal feel complete. If you are looking for something beyond the boils, there are plenty of other worthwhile options. The fried calamari and oysters arrived hot with a crisp, light coating that stayed crunchy throughout the meal. The Cajun fries and hushpuppies made great sides, especially for dipping into any leftover sauce, while the lobster roll offers a less hands-on option for anyone not in the mood to crack shells. Service was friendly and attentive throughout my visit. The staff checked in regularly, kept drinks topped off, and made sure everything arrived promptly despite the busy dining room. Parking can be somewhat limited around College Hill, but the location is easy to reach on foot if you are already exploring the neighborhood. Overall, Capt Loui delivers a fun and satisfying seafood boil experience with fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and an upbeat atmosphere. Between the customizable boils, well-executed sides, and welcoming service, it is an easy place to return to whenever I am craving a classic Cajun-style seafood feast.

This was our first time at this restaurant based on a review by the Providence Journal's food…read morecritic. We had booked a table for two. The place was pretty full of dinners many of which were going to go some show in one of nearby theaters. The dining area divided into tables and the bar area is very well designed in a modernist vein. The formally dressed waiters reminded me of Paris restaurants. The one drawback for me was the noise which made me knock a star off the score. To have to shout at your dining companion is a downer. We went on to order the food. We started by ordering six excellent oysters to share. Then onto the main dishes. My wife had the crispy fish tacos where the fish was crispy and the tacos were not. The fish was delicious. I stuck with an appetizer: sesame tuna. It was served on a unique platter which had a burning hot metal plate on which to cook the tuna to taste. I enjoyed the presentation and the taste. I also asked for crispy fries which were done right (which most restaurants don't achieve) and were hot and delicious. This was accompanied by glasses of a white wine - Aragosta Vermentino - and a Laetitia Pinot. Although satiated we could not resist ordering a crème brûlée dessert (highly recommended by people at the next table) which was excellent.. We would recommend this place highly even though it is quite expensive - around $60-90 per head. Our server, John B, was the consummate professional who was attentive and knowledgeable. He is to be commended. A fine dining experience (except for the aforementioned noise factor) worth a visit.
