Expect first rate Indian food from this hole in the wall. I almost didn't go in because the dining area visible from the outside is a dimly lit corridor with tables. Fortunately there is a room with the menus and cash register that's brighter and not quite as gloomy looking. It's still budget dining but pleasant enough. Enough about the ambiance. You're not coming here for that you're coming here for Indian food. Everything was tasty the samosa, the black chickpea on rice that was perfectly spiced, and chili naan, made with little bits of green chili. Unfortunately it didn't have much garlic to go with the greenery, so I was disappointed with that. Wish I'd gotten the garlic naan. No saag paneer but plenty of other choices both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The latter are mostly chicken options, such as tandoori and tikk.i. Service was attentive and friendly. Five stars because this is Kingman Arizona and not New York City. First, this is the smallest buffet lunch I've ever seen. The chicken dishes (you guessed it, Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala Chicken, & Tandoori Chicken) were paired with three vegetable dishes that change daily. Today, it was Alu Matar, Mushroom Matar Masala, & some noodles that I have never seen before. Of course, there was rice and the cook brought out a basket of naan seconds out of tandoor that was perfect. Also, while I got the last two pieces of Tandoori Chicken, it was grilled to perfection with a bit of char, yet quite juicy. The other chicken dishes were delicious. The vegetable dishes were spicy at the level of 3 on a scale of 0-10 and also quite delicious. I asked for water and immediately received a pitcher of cold water, even though it appeared that the cook was the only person servicing lunch. The menu offered a reasonable selection of "a la carte" items as well as the only Indian place in town (there are three) that offers a complete selection of biryanis. Definitely have to try the biryani next time. Attached to the Rodeway Inn, there are ten tables and about 20 chairs scattered in two small rooms. It is lightly decorated with Route 66 memorabilia due to its position on Route 66. First of all, fyi, there is no lunch buffet. The guy taking our order said it was recently discontinued. So instead of ordering an ala carte meal we ordered 2 chicken and one vegetarian wrap. There was almost no one there and we kept on asking where is our food. Finally the chicken wraps came. Lukewarm minuscule pieces of chicken, lukewarm wrap, lots of yoghurt sauce and onions - moist and icky. Kept on waiting a long time for the vegetarian wrap. Have no idea why it took so long. Sub par as well. Instead of a quick pick me up on our way to Vegas we had a long delay with depressing food in a depressing place. Disappointing experience. We came with a group of 5 people and were told they couldn't seat us -- not because it was busy, but because they literally don't have the capacity to seat 5 people. Their capacity is 2 people. The owner even referred us to another restaurant! It's baffling -- turning away paying customers is not a great business model. He's losing money and customers this way. The food here is the best Indian food I have ever had! I have lived in Artesia CA which has a plethora of fine Indian cuisine and nothing there compares to this restaurant. While the ambience is lacking the food is not! The customer service is great and you can tell that they care about the quality of food they serve. So delicious and fresh. This is a total hole in the wall gem. As with most hole in the wall gems, it's not much to look at, but nonetheless, the food is superb. I ordered the garlic naan bread, the chicken tikka masala, and the dal makhani over rice. I even tried the Indian version of sprite called Limca. Interestingly enough, Coca-Cola owns the company. Anyway, I'm really impressed by the quality of the food, and I will be back. I highly recommend it, and it's okay to not know all the dishes. While it doesn't look like much and has a limited menu the food is really, really good! The salt lassi isn't on the menu but I asked and got a delicious lassi. I wonder what else isn't on the menu? I ate here twice while staying at the Roadway Inn. once from the menu and the other time from the buffet. I loved the Tandoori Chicken and the Garlic Nan was the best I'd ever had ( even in India). the food is wonderfully spicy. It was also hotter then most other Indian restaurants I've been to. My husband and I ate here-- we are both well traveled and avid home cooks, so we like to imagine we know good food. I ordered the somosa chaat and the cheese naan. The husband ordered the chicken korma with garlic naan. My order was soooo flavorful! It comes as a smashed samosa topped with chutney and yogurt. I was very hungry and was super satisfied. If you have a low spicy tolerance, I'd say it's on the spicier side. If you have a higher spicy tolerance it's very mild. The chicken korma was thick and very flavorful. The chicken was beautifully seasoned and the garlic naan was soft inside and crispy on the edges. We did take out and the service was super fast. If we lived locally this would be our spot! We eat a lot of Indian food (across the country and in India) and were thrilled to discover an Indian restaurant in Kingman and based on the reviews had high hopes. We did take out to bring back to our room. Friendly service both on the phone and when we picked up. Unfortunately our food experience didn't live up to other reviews. The garlic nan was probably the best item we ordered. I had the dal tadka which was tasty- have had better but this was good. The plain rice was well cooked and just what you'd expect, but to charge for plain rice was surprising-most Indian restaurants we patronize don't charge. The two disappointments: My husband ordered the chicken tikka masala -the chicken was waaay over cooked/dry. It tasted like cardboard (in other words, no taste). The sauce was ok- have had much better. And the other big disappointment was the samosas. They were fried to a dark, dark brown and the crust was not flakey as a good samosa can be- just dry and hard. The filling was ok, not great. And at $9 for two - way over priced. Would pass on these if we ever eat here again. In a word we would describe the food here as: adequate. Most likely will not eat here again when we pass through Kingman, but never say never; we might give it another try some time. read more

We started with vegetable samosa which were very tasty and served with a sweet plum dipping sauce, the next item that came out was the tandoori chicken, it came out on a sizzling fajita-like platter with a spicy, citrusy chutney, both of which were a hit with our group.
