My husband has a massive appreciation for Indian food - and that too Pubjab ka khana. So you know what he was going to eat when driving through Kingman !! We wanted to have some warm Indian food after our long day at Grand Canyon. The aroma upon coming in felt like I was visiting Chandigarh and family. We stopped here on the way from Phoenix to Vegas. It is right off the freeway in Kingman at a truck stop. It is a very small place with a couple of tables. We went after dinner time and the family was eating dinner in there, so we sat at some tables outside. We only tried the chicken curry and rotis but the food was excellent. It tasted like homemade. It was a little spicy for us but worth it because it was flavorful and delicious. From other reviews, I'm sure the other dishes would have been just as good. Since my last review, I have come to this restaurant/truck stop many times. I honestly cannot rate this place high enough. Yes it is that good, and I am very picky about Indian food. I was just here a couple of days back, and ordered the goat curry, the chicken curry, the matar paneer (peas and ricotta cheese), the lentil dal, the side yogurt dish, and the rotis (flat bread). Literally every dish was exceptional. I shared the dishes with my family and they cannot wait for me to take the next 300 mile trip out there again. lol I drove 75 miles out of my way back from Sedona to come here, and don't regret it for a minute. I highly recommend this place if you are anywhere near close to here. It's a truck stop, so it's not the most scenic place, and you will have to speak a little slower, as I get a feeling they don't get a lot of non Indians coming here. This place was such a lucky pitstop on our way back from Grand canyon to San Diego. The aloo paratha is hands down the best I've eaten outside of India. Just so damn good. Their chicken curry and black pea vegetable was also very homelike. And best thing was no naan but phulka rotis which are so much lighter than naan. I read about this place in one of the articles where it said this is one of the places to try while driving from Phx to Vegas. Luckily, we took a break at Kingsman and this place is just around the Love gas station. You will be totally mistaken if you go by how the restaurant looks. Dhaba means a road side restaurant and that's what it is. We went in and the place was packed. We had to wait in line for a good 10-15 min but the service is super quick. The menu is simple and you have to just pick this or that. We ordered most of the things from their menu - chicken curry, mutton (lamb) curry, roti, paratha, dal and chai (tea) Everything is severed with butter and pickles. The food is flavorful, traditional and delicious to say the least. It took us back to home in India. The food was par excellence. The paratha was the winner, the stuffed bread was so consistent, large and so good. One is more than enough to fill you up but you land up craving for more. Chicken and the lamb was so tender that the meat fell of the bones. It was juicy and went really well with roti. The dal is their winner, so simple, yet rich. It was so good and remains a staple. No samosa or any appetizers . Tea and lassi available too. Taste - 3/5. We tried mutton and chicken thalis. I took lassi and wife went for tea. Taste is like homely food but nothing extraordinary. Tea was like sugary drink. Lassi was not thick at all. Price - not sp cheap as truck food. But appropriate for the effort by these innocent people from punjab. Truck is just outside a auto shop and tables are inside that shop too. Restrooms are available but super dirty. Considering all , I can't rate more then 3 out of 5. 100% must stop here! The family who runs it was so kind and helpful and the food is absolutely wonderful. We were going to get subway on our road trip and saw the sign for this place and I'm SO glad we did. The goat curry was fall off the bone tender and the chicken curry perfectly seasoned. We live in Los Angeles and love our curries. This tastes like you're eating in a friend's home, like it's made from the heart. There's a lovely little outdoor area where we ate (had the dog in tow, so outside was best), but they also have a dining room if you need the a/c. Definitely a roadside food stop with some folding tables inside and covered picnic tables outside. Inside and out were clean. Only five marked parking spaces so you may need to to park within the line of trucks. it's just a couple miles east of Kingman on I-40 at the DW Ranch Road exit. Inside, three generations are home cooking some really good food. Very friendly people, but it helps to know the food names. We got the Chicken Curry, Baigan (eggplant) Bharta, Jeera (cumin) Rice, some flat bread, and yoghurt to tame the heat of the eggplant (heat rated 3 on a 0-10 scale) for the wife. The order came with a couple pickles and chopped pickled onions. The limited menu also offered Raita, Goat Curry, Tadka Dal, Black Pea Dal, Mixed Vegetables, and Kheer. Looks like the menu varies daily. While I love Baigan Bharta, it would have been a grand slam if they had Dum Aloo, Aloo Matar, or Saag Aloo. Delicious! We got four 16oz containers and bread for a total price of $38. They offer 16oz, 24oz, and 32oz containers. I recommend getting containers as a better cost than the individual plates. We did have a little leftover, but next time we'll get extra to ensure another meal at home. Visitors, if you are continuing east on I-40, there is a large clearing on the south side of the freeway where you can pull off DW Ranch Road and picnic. If you're continuing west, exit at Route 66 towards the historic downtown and watch for the Lewis Kingman park on the right a couple miles from the freeway. Alternatively, continue on Route 66 to the Railroad Park on the west end of the historic downtown for another nice picnic spot. Another mile west and you can take I-40 to LA or 93 to Vegas. read more

Absolutely a five-star experience, if what you seek is a nostalgic taste of good, actual dhaba food from India. For the unfamiliar, dhaba fare is the best damn Indian food you can get in the world, and only in India. Nothing beats that experience obviously, but some places outside of India get close, and these lovely, warm, friendly folks do. The chai was delicious. Even my 75+ Indian mom approved, and she approves *nothing*! The muttar paneer, yum. A chicken masala dish, yum. The rice was fresh cooked. Everything was just scrumptious. Before you walk in here, just remember that it is a truck stop in rural Arizona, not a fancy restaurant. The original audience was probably the many Punjabi truck drivers out there on the highways of the United States, that most Americans probably don't even know about. These Yelp reviews indicate that the audience is growing and diversifying, but still, that's the original audience. Nonetheless, I found the bathroom to be reasonably clean and the place generally pretty darn hygienic and well-maintained for a truck stop. If you do not speak Punjabi or at least Hindi/Urdu, you might have a few challenges if you want to engage in deep conversation, but that's okay. A must stop if you are craving Indian dhaba style food and driving on I-40 near Kingman. It's a food truck located at a gas station, offering simple home-like punjabi food. The location, seating area and the food gives this a truly dhaba vibe and you will feel like you are in India. Non veg thali with mutton or chicken curry is pretty good, came with three chapatis, pickle and onion. Veg thali had dal makhani (lentils), aloo baigan sabji (potatao, eggplant) and three chapatis, pickle and onion. Veg thali was also really good. Got two aloo parathas in one order, served with yoghurt, pickle and onion. Pickle and pickled onion could have been better. Salt lassi was thin more like chhaas but really good and refreshing. Tea was also pretty good and had sugar in it, so did not have to add sugar to it. This is one of those places which I would have never known if not for yelp!
