A solid 3 stars is what Cuisine of India EARNED from me, a South Indian. They "lean" towards the something for everyone only by default Indian Cuisine. They have vegetarian, vegan (if you ask a million questions about dairy, milk/cream, butter vs. Oil) and meat They serve only North Indian food, nothing South Indian. Every item is made on a flavor/spice palate for Americans. Which means bland. So if you are someone who has never had Indian food or does not know anything about the regional cuisine differences of the Subcontinent, Cuisine of India is you go-to place. read more

When we entered the restaurant we were greeted right away. The restaurant is clean and the tables have paper on them which we love! The food is all kept at the proper temperatures and there is a lot of variety in the buffet. The rice was cooked perfectly and the tandoori chicken was very flavorful and tender. My boyfriend and I like to come here for the lunch buffet. It is a good deal for the spread that is always fresh and changing up daily. We are typically greeted by the gentleman who works there right away and we never feel rushed but always appreciated. I have enjoyed myself every time we eat here and I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a buffet style for Indian food. I prefer this because I love to try new things but ordering a full order of something new isn't as good as finding a new liking through the buffet. We usually arrive around opening (11:30 AM) and it's peaceful for us to enjoy our time and just have a nice lunch. read more

Maybe one of the last Indian restaurants to offer buffet. I was so happy after the fifth Indian restaurant I had called to hear that they did offer it so I drove straight in. I was able to select any seat I wanted to get food at the buffet right away. There was a decent amount of options and I really liked that they had all three of my favorite desserts gulab jamun, kheer, and mango kulfi. I really enjoyed the chicken Samosa and veggie Samosa chutney sauce was also really tangy and a little bit spicy how I like it. The staff member was pretty quiet, but he did remember to refill my water as needed and picked up my empty plate. The price was very reasonable and I would encourage others to come to continue to have the buffet offering. read more

The options may be a bit more limited compared to other Indian buffets, but the taste is there! We came for lunch, and the options were: salad, vegetable samosa, naan, rice, Mattar Paneer, Saag Aloo, Dal Makhani, Tandoori Chicken, Murgh curry, Murgh Makhani (butter chicken?) and goat curry. For dessert, there was Kheer (creamy rice pudding) and mango kulfi (mango ice cream). My favorites were Matar Paneer, Saag Aloo and Murgh Makhani, but honestly everything was really delicious. The chicken in the Murgh curry was really flavorful and tender, it fell off the bone. Oh man the Saag Aloo, who knew greens and potatoes could taste so good?! I need to change the way I cook my veggies lol. The service was attentive and the restaurant was clean. We were too stuffed to try the desserts. $15.99 per person for lunch, such an excellent meal. We went here for the buffet and the experience was amazing. The restaurant has a lovely ambience, well maintained, and very clean. The buffet has many selections, the best were the goat dishes, gobi 65, kashmiri pulao, jackfruit curry, the dal makhni was a standout. The service was great as well. We were in Mt. Prospect and were hungry. Looking at options, we saw this has a buffet. Let's go! We got their right as they opened. We were told to seat ourselves. The buffet had a lot of options. My kid loves butter chicken and said it was very good. Naan, samosas, and especially the briyani were all delicious. Briyani had a bit of kick to it as well. This did not taste like generic buffet food! When we came in around 12, the place was empty. Sitting there, no one came in until near the end of our meal. My kid said it was creepy and quiet. No music and a buffet to ourselves. They have a dinner buffet as well, and we will try soon. I'll update my review based on that. read more

This place has become my go-to spot for India- Whenever I'm craving lots of warm flavors I always order from here. Great depth of flavor. The portions are huge, for the price I usually get 2 meal out of each entree. The only draw back is that when I order for more than one person, the food isn't labeled what is what, so it's a bit of a guessing game which is a bit annoying (especially for any vegetarians/dietary restrictions). read more

Most people would disregard my review which is fine. The number of stars I'd rate them teeters between 2 and 3 stars. Over the years, increasingly, I am not a fan. However, I can tell you that some of my extended family and friends (which live in these parts) think it's pretty awesome. I'd say many of them would rate it a solid 4 or 5 stars. On occasion I've bumped into them here (and if I walk in here, it's very uncommon and random) and some would occasionally place catering orders. If I'm here, it's because I was dragged kicking and complaining. A lot of Indians dig the food as do Americans looking for that "butta chicken" or "Indian fix." Me... It's not impressive. Driving a little farther in any direction would yield better results. I'm not saying every experience has to be impressive, but it should be consistent. From the taste of the biriyani, or the butter chicken or the style of their breads, something should remind you of why you dined there. Most would dig their flavors, which are plentiful although pretty bland. With the often mix of clientele, they always keep it bland. I've tried getting carry out orders that lacked the spice level I requested. Lastly, with the number of "bar / restaurant rescue" type shows out there. They could do a bit of housekeeping. If there's a reason to keep the kitchen door open, sweep up the floor. How many food bits need to be down there? Wipe down a table or table accessory, so that it isn't icky to the touch. read more

The food was really good, BUT the spice level was a bit much for a buffet. Mangolasi was a bit pricey given the size, I asked for my drink to come without ice and it came with ice. I always order samosas from Cuisine of India for parties. They're really good and generally always a hit. We have been here several times for the buffet and the food is generally always good. My only complaint about going here is that I feel like I need to sleep for hours afterwards because the food is almost too rich and heavy. An Indian buffet with very tasty food. The menu is expansive and the depth of flavor is unprecedented. I have tried a handful of Indian joints in the area and this one has become my go to place. The interior looks like shit and its an old run down place. If you are looking for a beautiful place to eat then maybe it's not for you but if you are interested in the food then this is the crem da le crem of Indian. Of course you can get the buffet, but the really high quality ordered direct off the menu....fresh. I reccommend the chili-chicken GRAVY STYLE with a side of garlic nann. It is an Indian buffet in a strip mall so lets get that outta the way (But then again, Illinois has everything in a strip mall so this might not be so alarming to you). Not a soul in here on a Wednesday night at around 8pm. I was the Buffet King for about an hour. Wide variety of dishes (at least 10) all of which worked for me. Pretty decent samosas. They bring the free bown soup (direct Indian tranlsation) and tandoori chicken to your table, sizzling like it was from Sizzler. Your standard tasty fried sugar dough balls (again, a direct Indian translation) and mango ice cream. If I am ever back in the neighborhood and have a hankering for Indian food, this is the first place I am going to. read more

Quantity and Price Price is great, the the biryana was literally enough for several people. It was so heavy in the most wonderful way. Public Service Announcement: This restaurant does NOT serve alcohol. Not a worry if this doesn't bother you but for those of us who enjoy a cold Kingfisher or the like with our curry, good to know before you go! Not sure if they lost their liquor license or what (at least one review mentions a good selection of beers), but as of yesterday, NO BEER! Thankfully, I'm not completely in the dog house, as my husband, travelling on business, DID enjoy the food at Cuisine of India. Another slight annoyance: though they had a full menu available, they didn't seem excited to cook from it and pushed the dinner buffet hard. So, though he didn't have the relaxed curry dinner he had planned for (buffets are NEVER about relaxed eating now, are they and this is not a posh restaurant), he thought the food was good (Butter Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh + many others) and liked that they they brought hot naan straight to your table along with a sizzling hot plate of chicken tikka pieces.
