I've wanted to come here for a while and finally made the drive. Well worth it! Parking lot was nicely paved and I enjoyed walking past the potted flowers and peppers growing outside. We were quickly greeted indoor, which was nice and had an additional dining area indoors and away from the bar, but we chose to sit outside which was also nice. My friend ordered the pork chop and he didn't love it ... felt it was too tough. I never trust anything he says because he doesn't eat cheese... except pizza, chicken wings, or anything with spice or peppers or onions. Can't trust that judgement, amiright?! Lol I however LOVED my meal! I got the beer battered fish fry (served fridays and Saturdays) with macaroni salad and mashed potatoes with gravy. Also comes with coleslaw which I don't like so I asked not to include. There was rye bread too which I didn't eat. Anyway, the fish was cooked to perfection with a crisp and delicious batter. Tarter sauces was good. Macaroni salad wasn't the best ever but was still good. Loved the mashed potatoes and gravy. Service was fast and friendly. Menu had a great variety of options for all generations and tastes. I would love to come here again.

1st time eating Franks and ordered Take out. .... Food was one of the best I have had in WNY. Recently moved near the restaurant and excited to know I now have a go to spot when we don't feel like cooking. Added bonus they package take out orders perfectly and BTW they make their own Ranch dressing!!! Bravo !

Came here with a party of 7 and waited well over an hour for food. Was told by the old guy loudly in front of the other diners we needed to leave because they needed the table. We were waiting for my husband to pull up the car so my elderly disabled aunt with her walker could sit. Won't be coming back. Below is included screenshots of the delightful response I received via messenger. Dan Amatura, the host listed on the menu was the rude old man who yelled at us btw

Franks is an old-time family restaurant known for their fish fries and roast beef. They also have daily changing specials (which they take the time to change on their letter board out front every day). It is not a huge restaurant but there is a bar area, a small dining area and then additional space in the back. In the summer they also have a small patio. I would say that if you are an old person searching for a good fish fry, it's a decent place to go. My purpose for going was because we just moved to .5 miles down the road and we thought we could go here to have a good time, get drunk and walk home. It is not that kind of place. We felt like we were at a Moose lodge. I will gladly pay for an Uber to go somewhere where the younger crowd might be. As far as the food that we had, it was alright. I got a cup of their shrimp gumbo and it had no actual shrimp in it. It was like they cut a small salad shrimp into 3 pieces and put it into the soup. I was pretty sad about it. My husband got the chicken sandwich which was pretty good but needed more dill sauce. I don't want to knock it because the regulars that go here absolutely love it. And if I ate fish fries, I'm sure I would get one from here. But overall, the place is not for me and I'm unlikely to come back.

A great casual spot, clearly popular with local regulars. Four of us came for an early Saturday night dinner & the tables were nearly all filled when we left. Service was warm & attentive, and the food was all very good. My biggest local food awakening was about how AMAZING their Beef on Weck sammich is. I've tried several over the years & I always come up meh - bc of the dry, overly-bready, overly-salty Kimmelwick bun, mass-produced, not tender, not rare, overly-salty roast beef. THEIRS IS WORLDS DIFFERENT. Squishy soft bun, tender & juicy *actually made here* roast beef, jus & horseradish on the side. A delicious sammich beyond other worldly different from every other meh one I've had. You choose for your own self, but I will not order Beef on Weck anywhere else but here. Also great: Clams Casino Sausage Bread Prime Rib dinner special Grouper Fish Fry dinner special Wings - came w/the Beef on Weck combo, which our server said is the dish they are best known for Dessert! We saw a strawberry cheesecake go by & an impressive chocolate cake. Both looked worth it! We had a deliciously lemony Torte della Nonna. Super good! This is a solid choice anytime you want casual, good food. And especially if you want a Beef on Weck & wings!

Ask the Community - Frank's Bar and Grille

Is the outdoor patio still open for lunch and/or dinner? If so, do the heaters and fireplace hold up to our Buffalo winters?

No patio at this time. We closed it this fall but we do have our 2 large dining rooms with tables spread 6ft apart!

Walking around downtown Lancaster, I saw plenty of places to grab dinner. Running a search on my…read moreYelp app for best restaurant for dinner, Skoob's Village Grille popped up and all-in-all, it was a good experience. I walked in around 7:20pm on a Wednesday night to a busy restaurant and bar. I had no issues with parking as I used one of the public parking lots near downtown and took a short walk over, but if tried to find a parking spot on the street, that would've been pretty difficult. I did see the parking lot for a, now closed for good, Rite Aid that had a few cars and some open spaces, so that seems to be an option as well. Upon walking in there was a host station, which said to wait for the host to seat you. Past the host station, there is a good-size bar and several high-top tables and chairs, a separate dining room with plenty of tables and chairs for families/larger groups, as well as an outdoor patio with more high tables and chairs. Plenty of TVs were hung up around the bar/restaurant and classic rock was playing over the speakers, but it wasn't too loud, you could carry a conversation with relative ease. The hostess was going to seat me but then a random couple came, ignoring the sign, and took it that table... The hostess managed to find me another high-top table by their outdoor patio entrance. After I was seated, I was forgotten about for nearly 15 minutes. I was about ready to get up and leave when one of the waitresses going in/out of the patio stopped by and asked if anyone was taking care of me. She apologized and immediately took my drink order. Once I got my drink, I was about ready to order dinner but was undecided, so I asked her what's the more popular item and went with it. The wait for my dinner was a bit long, nearly 40 minutes passed by the time my dinner was brought out - At this point, it was after 8pm. For dinner, I ordered their Chicken Finger Sub, with the fingers sauced in their "Jessie's Everything" specialty sauce (a small upcharge) and topped with bleu cheese served with a side of fries. The chicken finger sub was excellent! The chicken tenders were fried perfectly and there was the right amount of lettuce, tomato, red onion. The "Jessie's Everything" sauce was great - It wasn't too spicy-hot, the sauce reminded me of a banana pepper. The Constanzo roll with the tomatoes on the bottom did make this sub a little hard to eat as the filling kept sliding around and falling out the sides, but it was worth the mess! The fries were fine, nothing special. Looking over my bill, I thought the price for my dinner was reasonable for the quality and quantity I received. Skoob's Village Grille nails the vibe of being the bar in a small town where everyone goes to for a drink, classic bar food, and to relax with friends. If I have one nitpick, I think the service times need to be looked at and improved. But even with that nitpick, I'd come back and try one of their burgers or an order of chicken wings with one of their specialty sauces!

She recommended multiple things but I ultimately decided on the Royal Sub and it was hands down the best I've ever had. Service and food were both top tier. I'll definitely be back.

I'll cut to the chase then come back around for details ... DO NOT SLEEP ON PAPA's PIZZA OVEN!…read more 10/10, food and experience, you will not be disappointed, I promise! . 1) SAUCE: They offer two standard red pizza sauces (other specialty options, but we're just talking standard for now) - if you like a sweet sauce PLEASE order here! I have no words for how delicious it is. The saucey, cheesy edges get a little carmelization from the method that they form and bake their pizza and it all comes together in this amazingly balanced , tradition Buffalo pie. 2) DOUGH: perfectly done, imo, Buffalo-style. Not too thick but not thin, cooked fast and hot and gives that slight but great char we love from the likes of OG Imperial and Bocce. But it's Papa's time NOW! The cheesy saucy edges get melty and a little charred over the perfect crusty edges and THAT is what pizza dreams are made of. 3) CHEESE: plentiful, fresh and baked to perfection with a fantastic pull. They put enough that you don't have a bite without just the right amount of cheese but not a crazy amount that is thick and loses its taste. Papa's is all about balance. ‍ 4) TOPPINGS!: ABUNDANT!! Do not wonder if you need to order double-anything to have the right amount of toppings - and by right amount I mean every bite. Pepperoni- cup & char bc Buffalo For the mushroom enthusiasts, they use a plentiful amount of the jarred 'shrooms, which I happen to think are elite on pizza bc they do not dry out. Before you send the mushroom police for me, jarred mushrooms and sautéed mushrooms (I know of only 2 places in the world that puts this on pizza as a standard) are the best on pizza, but you can try and prove me wrong. 5) Wings: a Buffalo girl's review - fresh, definitely one of the heftier sized wings, homemade blue cheese that is hella flavourful and also available by the large tub for fans like us. Their portion is large per order of wings comparatively in the area and it is DELISH. Their wing flavours are delicious- mild is very mild but incredibly tasty, Medium is a solid mild + a smidge hotter if you are wondering. The wet Cajun wings are out of this world and rival the Cajun wings at Elmo's. SO GOOD! 6) Last but not least the STAFF! I don't know anyone that works there, but they treat you like friends when you walk in the door. On the phone, the guy that most often answers is so nice, pays attention and never misses and sounds HAPPY to make your pie. We asked for extra sweet sauce via phone bc I ordered for my Mom to deliver to her and couldn't find it on Doordash, he was so kind and helpful! And he's like that EVERY TIME. It makes such a difference. The prices are good, the food is always fresh and beyond tasty and we crave this pizza .. which honestly hasn't happened in a long time. If you're looking to sit down, there are seats for pickup wait, but no dine in option at this time. Papa's Pizza Oven = Pizza Perfection for us. We hope you'll give them a try real soon! Tell them Nicole sent you. I'm proud to give them an honest and great review. 10/10, A+, Prez of Pizzas

My very first visit to Green Buffalo Pub, and unfortunately, it will also be my last…read more I live approximately two minutes away from Green Buffalo Pub, and this was actually my very first time going there. My neighbor who lives across the street had told me what an amazing bar it was and specifically raved about how good the wings were. She also met her husband there and told me since I was single, I should go check it out!! I decided to take her recommendation and finally give it a try. I was genuinely excited to try the Loganberry wings. I even recorded a video during my walk there. I was recording to make what I thought would be a great review. During my 2 minute walk to the bar I was talking about how excited I was to try the wings. I walked in expecting to have a good experience and hopefully find a new local place that I would enjoy coming back to. Everything went downhill the second I walked through the door. I was accompanied by my service dog, who was wearing her service vest and is licensed in Lancaster, NY. She was sitting quietly and safely in her stroller. She was completely under control and well behaved. She does and did not bark, bother anyone, damage anything, or cause any disruption. There is a specific reason she was in her stroller. She is trained to assist me. She provides calming assistance by laying on me and licking my hand or face to help ground and calm me. Having her positioned higher in her stroller allows her to perform these tasks more effectively when I need her assistance. She was right beside me, in a controlled environment, and was not causing a problem. The employee I spoke with, Jamie, who I have since learned is the new owner of Green Buffalo Pub, repeatedly told me, "She's a pet. She's a pet," while laughing after I explained that my dog was a service dog. I explained again that she was a service dog multiple times, yet Jamie continued to dismiss what I was telling her and laughed at me. She then demanded that I provide paperwork proving that my dog was a service dog. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, businesses cannot demand service animal certification, registration, licensing papers, or other documentation as a condition of entry. When it is not obvious that a dog is a service animal, staff are generally limited to two questions regarding whether the dog is required because of a disability and what work or task the dog has been trained to perform. My dog was not barking, aggressive, disruptive, damaging property, or having an accident. She was calm, controlled, and doing exactly what I needed her to do. And I have video documenting what happened. I have the video from my walk to the establishment, where I am genuinely excited and talking about trying their wings, as well as video from the interaction after I began recording when I was being denied access with my service dog. The contrast between those two videos speaks for itself. What should have been a quick trip to try some wings based on a neighbor's recommendation ended with me crying and bawling my eyes out the entire way home. I live two minutes away. I came there as a first time customer with every intention of making a great review of the food and potentially becoming a regular customer. Instead, I was laughed at, humiliated, and made to feel like I was doing something wrong simply because I needed my service dog with me. This was not about getting special treatment. It was about being treated with basic dignity, respect, and equal access. I am filing formal complaints with the appropriate agencies and preserving the video and documentation I have regarding this incident. I will never spend a dollar at Green Buffalo Pub, and I will not recommend this establishment to anyone. Jamie, as the new owner, I sincerely hope you take this seriously and educate yourself and your staff about the rights of people with disabilities and service animals. No one should have to walk into a neighborhood business excited to try the food and leave in tears because they were laughed at and denied access with their service dog. I walked in excited to try your Loganberry wings. I walked out without ever getting the chance to order them, and I walked home crying. That is an experience I will never forget! I go out of my way to write good reviews all the time for people to help them get raises and to help their business get more customers and this was just honestly a huge disappointment. (If you want to support a great restaurant/bar in Lancaster, go to SKOOB'S, great service and excellent food, and my service dog is welcome.)
