She knew the menu so well I'm convinced she helped write it, and she guided our first-timer confusion like a culinary sherpa. The food? So fresh I briefly considered asking for the recipe and starting a garden. I could practically feel the lime in the salad giving my taste buds a little zesty high-five. As you walk in you appreciate the setting and feeling of your environment, it fits the space so very well. I enjoyed the music and am very happy to of gotten an outside seat. The tables are made of a very beautiful marble or stone and the plants are well taken care of. I had the Wagyu pigs in a blanket for my appetizer and was very impressed with it. The dough is flaky and crispy which lends its self nicely to the rich dog inside. It also has some poppy seeds and a honey mustard cream sauce which finish it off very nicely, while rich it is very enjoyable! My main dish I had the fish and chips here was my only issue, the fish was not cooked the best, the fish was actually quite mushy. The curb appeal is amazing, and once you walk in, you're hit with the best aromas, the sound of glasses clinking, and the energy of Saturday College Gameday in the background. The vibe is just perfect -- fun, lively, and welcoming. There were couples, families, solo diners, and big groups... everyone just looked like they were having a great time. The host staff was super friendly and got us seated right away even though we arrived a little early for our reservation. Our server, Hannah, was amazing -- professional, warm, and super knowledgeable about the menu. She gave us awesome drink and entrée recommendations and was so sweet with our son too. We went with her suggestion, the Mongolian short rib, and wow -- it was absolutely delicious! The sticky rice, the marinade, the tenderness of the meat... perfection. And then came the live music, which just took the whole atmosphere up another level -- upbeat but not too loud, just fun and energetic. Our actual waiter didn't arrive until roughly 25 minutes later. * The food was mediocre. For a restaurant branding itself with a "culinary" angle, I expected more creativity. The meatloaf was very straightforward--nothing memorable and honestly something you could find at Costco. The Caesar salad was heavy on dressing and croutons, light on actual salad. Ordered the meatloaf. Went with a group of 6 on Monday night. We had reservations so sat down right away. Server was very attentive and friendly. Everything we ordered came out great & was delicious. The restaurant was decorated for Christmas, very fun atmosphere. The only thing I didn't love was the bill process. It came as one and there was a code to scan where we could all then pay our checks separately using our phones. The weird part was you couldn't use a credit card on there, the only 2 options were Apple Pay or Venmo? It seemed really weird to me that Venmo was an option but not a credit card. We stumbled on this place after looking for a local store. This is in a newer hype part of Franklin, near lots of options for food. We walked in and were greeted right away, and even though we didn't have a reservation, they put us on the list for a quick 10 minute wait. We went to the bar first and the bar tender was very helpful in providing us recommendations for drinks, I got the Cali & Tay margarita and my husband got the Playboi Stache. Both drinks were really food, mine was more on the spicy side, but I like spicy! One we were sat, our server Zoe was so sweet and helpful in making suggestions for what her favorites are. We ordered the BBQ pork belly nachos as the appetizer, sooo good! Perfect to share and the pork belly was poked to perfection. For my dinner, I ordered the Korean rib eye cap. The meat was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. It had onions, mushrooms and bean sprouts, and the sauce was divine! My husband had the spicy rigatoni, also excellent! The sauce was so flavorful and the portions were just right. We ended our meal with the monkey bread which was amazing! They pair it with cooked apples and vanilla ice cream, melts in your mouth! Even with all that, we walked away not feeling over stuffed and will definitely be back! The restaurant has a great vibe, a tad loud because of the hard floors, but still a great ambiance. Didn't realize it was a chain as I tend to dine at local eateries. As a local, we have so many new restaurants to try it blows my mind! This didn't feel like a chain and the crowd was extremely diverse which is a plus for us. I got the Pub Burger which was amazing while extremely messy. We had a less than awesome experience on a packed Saturday night- we addressed the issues with management while we were there (server was not prepared to be working a busy night, didn't know the menu, forgot our order, took 30 minutes to get drinks, only received part of our order and she asked if we were even still hungry and wanted the rest of our food...unfortunately I could go on- all that to say, she was very nice and by no means did anything on purpose, she was just new and inexperienced in hospitality service). That said, management handled the situation as best they could- we will give this restaurant another try because honestly, almost every other table other than the three in our section appeared to be having a great evening and the food on their tables looked great (some of the items were ones that we ordered but never received). A new favorite. My husband and I dined for the first time for brunch at Culinary Dropout. The staff greeted us with warmth and we were shown to a booth. The live music playing was wonderful and not too overpowering as to drowned out the conversation. Our server Becca was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and gave us suggestions based on our likes and dislikes. We had management check in on us at the table just to see how our experience was going which we found refreshing. The chef and cooking staff were very diligent in food safety and preparation as I watched from the booth. They took care with each plate making sure everything was perfect before sending it out to a guest. I got Chicken with gravy and biscuit with a side of potatoes and my husband chose their burrito. The food came out hot and fresh as it's a made from scratch kitchen. Our portions were large and were a great value for the price. Cocktails had fresh ingredients including pressed juices which added depth of flavor. I can say for the first time in a long time everything from start to finish was perfect. I've been to Culinary Dropout three times just this week, and every visit has been such a great experience! Once for lunch, where I had the rainbow roll and feta tahini dip. Both so fresh and flavorful. I came back for happy hour and tried the sangria and spicy tuna crispy rice, which were the perfect combo, especially with the great energy at the bar. And today's brunch sealed the deal for me. The fried chicken was incredible, crispy and seasoned just right. The ambiance is always amazing, especially with the live music and how beautiful the patio is on a nice day. I also want to shout out Carolina, the bartender. Initial thoughts were not 100% seemed loud and cold. But the management turned it around, the service felt like a 5 star restaurant and the food tasted like all the flavors that make your mouth water. Tried everyone at the tables meal, and would suggest each one. Try the Steak frites. They were playing really good music, it's the best volume outdoors.
