When we arrived we were told they were out of "BUNS" I'm like are you kidding you guys might as well be closed. I absolutely love culvers. Normally when I go there I will get a snack pack, which consists of a butter burger, small fries and a small drink ,and it's usually somewhere around $5.50. Their prices are a little bit higher than other fast food restaurants, but they have delicious food. One thing I really like a lot is their custard. I ordered a BlackBerry cobbler waffle cone, it literally had to be one of the best tasting custards I've ever had. I live here in Chicago near this Culver's in an apartment complex and my family and I before the pandemic would go and eat here frequently. Since that time, the pandemic caused a lot of issues for people and delivery became the way to go only Culver's does not delivery at this location. I had to go through the drive thru and order my food then park in the lot in the front row and then the young people would bring your order out to you. I will say one thing for them, they never messed up the order but the No Delivery curbside was a problem for me. Hope this helps. read more

I am probably the only person here who never try Culver before. That being said. All this rickety over culver opening in Chicago, I was tempted to try their famous frozen custard. I made it here today thinking since its not that cold, I should go and grab some custard for my kids. BIG MISTAKE! I got here around 3.15. The drive thru was BUSY so I finally parked and went inside with my daughter. And instantly there was line. 10 minutes later, it was finally our turn to place the order. Originally we wanted 4 vanilla sundaes with strawberry and raspberry. The cashier was so slow and confused. Although she apologized to me by saying I'm so sorry, it's been a long day. So I kinda understand. In the middle of placing the order, the manager went to the cashiers and told them that they were out of vanilla and only have strawberry and chocolate. I was like, dang it! But quickly said to the cashier, let's roll with strawberry. 3 minutes later (while the cashier typed my order in), another person came to the cashiers and said, no more strawberry. I was like, what the heck?? If I didn't have my daughter with me, I would probably walk out of the restaurant. So I took a deep breath and quickly said to the cashier, just give me 5 freaking chocolate shake with oreo and 3 small fries. Thank God this time she was able to put the order in without any interruption. 15 minutes later, they called my name. They packed the shakes in a brown bag. It was like brown thin bag. Workers at this location are incompetent. I wanted a single butter burger with mayo and ketchup. They made me a double butter burger with mustard. I complained and they remade it and it was still a double butter burger with mustard. They not only messed up my order once but twice and I had to drive back the second time wasting my gas. I was very upset. I requested a refund since I figured they would mess up again the third time and I didn't much time left for my lunch break so I had to leave hungry and angry. I'm never going to this location again. Workers need to be more attentive to taking orders AND remaking them. It's absurd how there are like 10 workers and they keep messing up. This is the first Culver's in the city and to my surprise, the outside of the building did not have the signature blue and white colors as many of the others have in Wisconsin and the suburbs of Chicago. Anyway, my boyfriend and I went on a Sunday during lunch, which we expected it to be packed since it just opened. The parking lot and drive-thru was full and wrapped around. Thank goodness for the security guard to direct the flow of traffic! As we entered, there were many people waiting for their take out and in line to order. However, to our surprise, the wait to order was extremely quick. The lady who took our order was extremely kind and knowledge of the menu. She always had a smile! Although ordering was quick, the wait time for our food was about 20 minutes. As I was waiting, I saw many pleasant servers, but there were a few walking around who didn't seem to want to be there. No smile and gave off a negative vibe. Finally, the food came. Since I was starving, I scarfed down the burger, but did notice the bun was harder than normal. The fries were a bit soggy, but the buffalo chicken tenders were good. However, my boyfriend thought they looked smaller than normal. Overall, not a horrible experience, knowing it just opened, but there's still room for improvement on the food and customer service. Visited the Culver's in Homewood, IL on 3/4/22 via the drive through. First after repeating my order twice to me they still missed an item and I had to park and go inside to get it. Fish dinners and sandwiches were undersized, bland and barely warm. They skimp on the fries as well. My wife and I both spent the evening running to the bathroom after eating. Darn good thing we have two bathrooms and no waiting, unlike Culver's and their terribly slow service. Definitely not worth the wait or a return trip. read more

Some friends told me about this restaurant. They told me about how good the fish sandwich and onion rings taste. I enjoyed the sandwich, but the tartar sauce was not good at all. The restaurant is beautiful, but I have one complaint. Please hire someone to keep the parking lot and the area outside the restaurant clean. Slowest Culver's I've ever visited. Same great butter burgers, custard and curds...slooooow! Now I've been to at least 8 different Culver's and I've probably purchased at least 100 meals from these various locations. I absolutely understand that it's a little longer wait than McDonalds, but it is also quite a difference in quality. I love Culver's, and that should be obvious considering how many times I've gone and the number of different locations. This location was the slowest, and slow to the point I went up and asked the lady who took my order how much longer after waiting 5 mins longer than normal, then waiting at least another 5 mins after I asked. Also, I went to park as I wanted to go in to wash my hands and get carry-out. The spots seemed more narrow than most spots I'm used to. Either that or everyone at this place parked like a-holes. I'm guessing it's the latter. Kinda sketch, it's on MLK Jr. Drive, and we all remember what Chris Rock said about streets with that name in 'Bring the Pain'. The line in the drive thru was so long We decided after 15 min of waiting to go inside. Once inside I seen why the wait was so long, a whole team of kids taking orders and playing around. While waiting in line again, I notice the workers running back and forth outside and to the bathroom, with the same pair of gloves on they were working with behind the counter!!!! Well, if I had left a review for the Culver's in Bronzeville when they first opened, I would have given them a 5-star rating! However, this past Saturday, I had a bad experience. I walked in and joined the 6 people in front of me in the one line that was open. There were plenty of employees working and the manager was helping the employees that were working the drive through window. The manager could see that there were 9 people in this one line (2 were behind me), but he never said a word! No other lines were opened and no one apologized to us for the wait. The employee was spending a lot of time with the current customer. After waiting 7 minutes in line, I just gave up and walked out. I really wanted to like this Culver's. It is in the City. It is black owned. It hires kids from the City. Good reasons, right. I just can't. I visited 3 times during different hours. My first visit was during the week at lunch time, 12 to 1. I placed my order rather quickly and waited about 15 minutes for my for. My one complaint was that my custard came out about 5 minutes after my order. I brought my family with me the next time one Sunday after church (around 3). The wait to order was ridiculous, ok, I'm exaggerating. The wait was about 3-4 minutes. My kid had a kid's meal while my hubby and I had burgers. I was able to use an online email list coupon for free birthday custard. It was all going great. But, even though I asked for my meal and custard to come out together, my custard preceeded the meal. Our food took about 20 minutes. The food was good and fresh. The owner was walking around making sure everyone was satisfied. I really felt good about patronizing the business even though I think Mikkeys has a better burger. On what would be my last visit I wanted to redeem another email coupon, this time for a BOGO free meal. This visit was on a school night. The waiting/ordering area was packed. I placed my son's order and then my hubby and mine. When it was time to pay, I pulled out my phone to show the cashier my email. She promptly told me that they don't accept electronic coupons. Per the owner, I needed to print it out. Now this may not seem like a big deal but to me it is. There were no signs stating this change in policy. The email doesn't tell you to print the coupon. It really irked me along with the 20 minute wait time for my food has resulted in me not returning. I'll stick with the Culver's in Oak Lawn. read more

Not too willing to explain menu items except for one girl there and I was so discouraged at this point I should have just left but I had already waited at the drive thru line with a car full of kids. We came by Saturday afternoon for a quick meal. Their Butterburger Cheese Deluxes were perfectly cooked and very tasty. Nothing was wrong with the burger buns. Our concrete mixers were delicious. I recommend their Brownie Thunder concrete mixer. Staff is young and friendly. A young lady followed up to make sure we were enjoying our meal. We received our food in less than ten minutes after ordering and it was busy, but not packed. I hate to see the negative reviews and believe service issues that occur with any new business have been resolved. There's over 10 employees on the floor but yet the manager sees it fit to only have two registers open. And on top of that, they're serving hard, cracked buns at a ridiculous mark up. You can't charge Five Guys prices for burgers and don't at least deliver on the quality. Service wise this is basically the Walmart of fast food without the low prices. read more
