So the owner put up a huge gate blocking the entrance to the complex next to it. I think this is so hostile to the businesses, customers, and employees of those businesses. Culvers should be serving the community around them but they're not. The fire marshal made the owner take the gate down and then as soon as the fire marshal left he parked his car blocking the entrance showing he has no regard for the safety of the people who work or patron those businesses. All he cares about is himself. He is selfish, arrogant, and a poor business owner. I will never give my money to a business who treats others like that. I use to stop in after my daughters gymnastics class because I didn't have time to make dinner. I will not be going there again. read more

Fish sandwich was very good but nobody asked if we wanted ketchup or tartar sauce. After waiting 25 minutes for my order, least somebody could ask me. Big disappointment as this location seems mismanaged and not paying attention to the small details that are very key. The Fish plate options not available outside on the menu either. read more

Came to celebrate my son's team's basketball win. They have 3 TV's here but none of them on with Diamondback's playing and NBA playoffs tonight? I asked a crew member if the tv's worked? They said yes so I asked for the basketball game to be turned on. So instead the manager comes out and turns on the baseball game. I went back to the counter and asked a crew member if I could borrow the remote to change it to the basketball game and the manager says "I'm a little busy right now but maybe later"! Too busy to hand me the remote which was in plain sight on the back counter? We placed our order 8:22pm. Our malts finally came out at 8:46 after we were completely done with our food. The kids working here are friendly and working hard. Too bad they are saddled with a poor leader who doesn't care about customer service and has lost control of his kitchen. read more

This place is the absolute worst fast food establishment I've ever been too. To begin, the woman in the drive through had the most rude "I hate my job" attitude I've ever experienced from the first minute she took the order all the way to the "sign that!!!" As she flung the clipboard with the credit slip through the window. It's really a shame to be starving after a 14 hour work day and it's only 1:30 in the afternoon and have to deal with employees who seem so very inconvenienced to do the job they are paid to do. Not to mention when we get our food we asked if there was ketchup in the bag and cocktail sauce (because every time prior they have forgotten it) and the gentleman says "did you look in the bag?" Oh well yes we did and duh it wasn't in there, so he comes back with a handful of ketchup containers and one of them was smashed wide open and got all over the inside of the truck and my hand. Hats off to you guys for such below average service and not caring enough to make changes or make it right by the guest. My son and I ordered our food at 1:30 and it didn't come out until 2:05 p.m. I am understanding of the fact that many businesses are short staffed and have issues finding workers to work. That being said, there is no way it should've taken 35 minutes for 2 burgers, an onion ring, and a cheese curd. When I asked to see the manager, the manager sent out an employee to talk to me instead. The employee was kind, courteous and understanding, but told me that the manager working Saturday April 22, 2023 does not speak to customers. When I asked the employee who was sent out to talk to me how long the drive through was taking, he told me 20-25 minutes. I'm sure no one is communicating to customers the wait times. If the manger is unwilling to speak to customers and that workers are not communicating the wait times, there is a problem. I won't be returning and I will be contacting the corporate office since the manager refused to come talk to me. Terrible experience! read more

But the person who made my ice cream Jamarion Was great he had a great conversation with me and it was a great experience it made over look that whoever made my food should've been fired on the spot. So tonight during a custard run, I witnessed the general manager taking his frustration out on an employee by yelling and dropping the f-bomb within earshot of dozens of other patrons to include many families with children. It was disgusting and completely inexcusable. When I asked to speak with the manager to discuss how unhappy I was, he refused to see me. I waited 10 minutes while my custard melted and he still wouldn't come out. Shame on the manager for not keeping your cool. You can't be a leader if you can't keep your cool. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because of the manager and how good their food is when it's correct. I spent 20 minutes in the drive through and the window worker guy gave me the wrong drink then I had no fries in my bag and finally when I got home my entire order was completely wrong so I had called the manager and he handled it very professionally and was very kind to me and my boyfriend about the whole situation. Yeah, the butter burgers are great, but that is just the beginning. The onion rings are Fabulous! The concrete mixers have many more options that Dairy Queen, the side salads are worth a mention for the healthy alternative. They even have green beans as a side dish. OK, it is fast food, but good fast food that does not taste processed. (McDonald's and Burger King) It is as good at is gets for taste, value and menu. There is not a more robust fast food offering that I am aware of. read more

They are just up the street and have veggie burgers and grilled cheese for us non carnivorous folk.. And ice cream... Enough said! There was not much of a line, we ordered took our number and sat down. They promptly brought our food to our table. This place is pretty tasty! The burger was good. Well above average, but it better be when it's $5 or more. My kid and I got a burger each, a soda, a shake and a mixer thing (like a Blizzard) and I dropped $20. That's a bit over my budget for two. We try and stay under $12 which is doable if we skip the ice cream/custard. I don't know that we'd skip that if we're going to Culver's though. The custard is pretty good. Understand that I'm not a connoisseur of ice creams and related deserts. They pretty much fall into two categories for me. Good and not so good. This is on the good side. I prefer Fudruckers and Five Guys over these burgers. I also prefer Cold Stone for ice cream. read more

I had never heard of Culver's until recently and despite them being close to my house I've only been there twice. And the first time didn't even really count because we were on the way home one night after a long drive from San Diego and were starving. We spotted the place and got burgers to go. I was so tired I honestly don't have any memory of what the burgers tasted like. However the most recent visit was memorable. I saw an ad somewhere for their fish dinner and posted it on my refrigerator. The picture was mouth-watering delicious but you know that the real food never looks as good as the ads, right? I'll tell you right now this is one time that myth was shattered. My first surprise was the price of the dinner ... under $10 for two HUGE perfectly cooked filets of cod, a large coleslaw, a decent amount of fries and a dinner roll. The only cod I have had that equaled it was at that place in Seattle that's famous for cod. When I asked the counter clerk how big the fillets were he said the same size as they used in their fish sandwich so I assumed they were small. Uh, uh, I could only eat one piece and the remaining piece was so big I ended up making two fish sandwiches out of it the next day. I'm not sure why one person said he paid $8 for one single piece of fish because that's not even on the menu but my advice to him is buy the fish dinner next time and feed the rest to your pet pig. As far as the rest of the story, the restaurant is simple, well-lit and clean. The counter clerk was friendly, helpful and mature for his age. The girl who handed me our order was also helpful, taking the time to tell me what else (like condiments, utensils, napkins, etc) were in the bag so there were no surprises when we got home. Their menu pretty much focuses on burgers, fish and chicken with some unexpected things like chili, pot roast and other things being listed as specials. All of their prices are reasonable; you can get a fresh cooked specialty burger for about a buck more than a Big Mac (no brainer). Now that I know more about Culver's I have a feeling I'm going to become a regular. read more

Been here twice. Still a bit confused how to place an order for what I want. I like their burgers, although in my online survey they were near the top in the most total fat contest, the Whopper was worse. I don't eat at McFakeburger so I didnt look on their web site. FYI the lowest total fat burger last time I looked was In & Out and in 2nd place was Wendy's. This is for a single patty with no cheese. So I get their Butter Burger but add deluxe toppings. And I like their fries too. Their coleslaw is a bit poor... Need to try their green bean side dish. In fact some of their other sandwiches look tempting as well. As always, the place is spotless. Looks like it was just professionally scrubbed down from top to bottom. Counter service is above average. Be on guard for up-selling at the register. Parking is plentiful, enter the lot from any direction off Rose Garden or northbound on Cave Creek. So if this is your first time you walk-in, decide what to order on the big order board, place your order and pay. You are handed an empty cup and a plastic table marker sign. Get your drink and have a seat and place your number table sign where it can be seen and wait for food to be delivered to your table. If you want carry-out you can either stand and wait near the order area or have a seat and wait. It takes them about 5 minutes to crank out a burger and fries. So get yourself a cup of ketchup and some napkins and sit and watch ESPN while you are waiting. Probably a good idea to research their menu online before heading to Culver's. read more

This place is amazing compared to In and Out, Burger King, McDonalds or Wendy's. The menu is vast (they even have a Reuben and multiple kinds of soups. The Butter Burger Deluxe is the best burger in town (recommend the double Patty), The custard ice cream is better than almost any other. They make malted shakes. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The even have Diet Root Beer. There is no reason to go to any other burger restaurant in town. They make you feel like family here. read more

I took my family here after months of driving past it every day, and we have come back regularly ever since. Culvers is like a Dairy Queen, except that the food is good. The butterburgers are very good. I cannot think of a better fast-food burger, except possibly Lenny's. The thick, crinkle-cut fries are delicious as well. They have a fairly large selection of dessert items - much more than most fast-food chains. My only disappointment was the cod filet. It was far too greasy for my taste. This location is very clean and seems to be run by people of higher intelligence than a typical fast-food place (Wendy's is the worst in this department). The staff is consistently friendly and efficient. Highly recommended. read more

I just came back from Culvers and it was a delicious experience (for fast food). I went through the drive-through since it was clear the inside was packed. The only problem I had was I asked for what was directly on the menu and labeled as 'limited edition' and was told they don't have it. "smoky cheddar bacon & mushroom butterburger" So they asked if I would take a "smoky cheddar butterburger". I said sure thinking "what a new guy..." (note this place just opened today) I quickly opened the wrapper to see what I got (it was now a mystery) To my excitement I got exactly what I wanted (bacon and mushroom and all!) Food was great (if you like culvers and I do). Drive through guy drove me slightly nuts, but I hope they improve it. read more

There are sandwiches, real dinner plates and there are far more than fries for side dishes. I know that you can get poor food anywhere, but I guess we've been lucky and everything has been fresh and tasty for more than 2 years of visits. We used to travel all the way out to 19th ave. and Deer Valley, but the new Rose Garden location is much more convenient. In response to @Greg M. - it's best not to simply walk up ti the counter. Stand back and look at the options. That way, no pressure and you can get a better look at the range of offerings. My wife and I were traveling to Cave Creek and were drawn in by a sign reading 'Butterburgers' which I certainly thought was 'Butterbeer,' until I realized that we were in Phoenix, not Hogsmeade. But when one is brave enough to advertise butter and burgers not only together in a sentence, but in a WORD, the gauntlet is thus thrown down and one (another one), must pick it up--or whatever one does with a gauntlet. I'll be damned if the burgers were not buttery, but in a good way. Fries were crispy and crinkly, harkening back to time spent as a lad at the late great freestanding Foster's Freeze. The novelty of the butterburger compelled me to even challenge my fondness for In-n-Out. The malt was malty--even maltese, if you please the food was salty with just a hint of greaze (bad spelling, good rhyming). The manager was very friendly and hovered over my wife like a Coast Guard rescue copter. All in all, a top notch dining experience that had us filled for quite a spell. read more

It's not your mama's 99 cent burger but then again... it's worth more. Everyone's been raving about Culvers, so passing it on the way home i was drawn in by the crowds and a quick trip through the drive thru made me a fan. I'd give it 5 stars but i wasn't slammed with the custard but... maybe on another day or mine was too small to get into it. The burger though was an awesome treat. Those buttered buns and fresh ingredients.... just what the heart doctor ordered. There were bigger ones on the menu but.. since i had just had lunch i thought a taste would sell me or not....and it did. From the reception this chain has gotten, i'd say their game plan is a winner and i can't wait to go back and try some of the other goodies for a more complete experience. Now.. if White Castle would only make an appearance. But i think Culvers will give In & Out a fight for the burger buck in this town. Both are worth the trip though ! read more
