Was in Port Richie and decided to try this place. I wasn't expecting much, fast food rarely is anything but something to put in your mouth to keep you from eating the dashboard, but I was impressed! The restaurant is very clean, the service is great, and the food was quality drive thru style. The burger was very tasty, and the fries were really crispy! Definitely worth stopping by to soothe the hungry beast! I also liked the fact that the person let me taste some of their frozen custard, which I may have to investigate further on a future stop! Got the "fish and chips" and it was so very good. Fresh, crispy and good quality. Cooked perfectly and the sides of fries (crinkle cut) and cole slaw paired perfectly. I ordered 1 scoop in a cake cone of the flavor of the day (marshmellow Oreo). First cone handed to me was crushed on one side. It looked like a finger was pushed through the cone. I asked for another. While I was promptly handed another cone, I was sold chocolate custard with a drizzle of marshmellow on top and what seemed like Oreo crumbs. We went to culvers because they cater the gluten free people took our grandson he has celiac which is gluten free diets. They made a mistake on his burger. I took ot back they took forever...finally got it we told them please make sure uts on the grill for gluten free. Well that nite my grandson was vomiting all nite...we had been there several times. That was the last time.. I called the manager she was understanding... I won't say they haven't messed up a food order before, but they're always fast and polite about fixing it. I love the taste of the food here and the friendliness of the staff. First time here. We 3 enjoyed the french fries (not greasy) and fresh rolls with the hamburgers. My hamburger, however, was really burnt around the edges and tasted burnt.The service was very good as all were very attentive asking us frequently if they could help in any way. Went with my wife because she was raving about the Culver's down in Largo near where she works. I ordered a burger. Honestly, the burger was so paper thin that I couldn't even taste it. Even crappy McD's has a burger you can see. I saw no reason why I would go back. Usually I give most places a second chance but I don't see the ultra thin burger as a mistake. I'm quite sure that's how they always are. Ultimately, I have found that ALL fast food has declined to the point that none of it is worth my hard earned cash. I'm not that old but I do remember when some fast food was pretty good. Now it's smarter to just go to a real restaurant, pay a couple bucks more for some real food, get your order right the first time and then they even clean up when you're done. Why pay $8 to $10 for some crappy fast food when you can get some real food for the same price. The only difference is you might have to give a couple bucks for a tip. Been here twice, first time i was the only customer so you think i wouldve gotten the royal treatment, not quite. Nobody said hi or anything, so i couldnt even tell if they were like closing up or what, ordered a burger and fries, they give you a number and make you sit down, took forever and then i got the wrong toppings. didnt even bother saying anything thought it was just because they are new. Went in again recently, once again empty.... wonder why.... ordered another burger to see if they could get it right, once again was taking forever so i went up to see why. the girl at the register got a middle aged guy who as i had been watching waiting for my food had been flirting with the young girls working the ice cream maker, my daughter and grand daughter were with and it made me feel sick. our order magicaly came up as i was talking to him and he gave it to me all smug, like i was complaining for no reason, when i got to the table i noticed my burger was on bread and didnt have the right condiments so i took it up with our receipt and asked for the manager i spoke with and the girl said it was the OWNER and she would go get him! he comes back out and i tell him my burger is on bread and he looks and me and my receipt and says thats what you ordered. Obviously i know what i ordered. Come to find out its a wisconsin melt and cost a lot more than the burger i wanted, he said because thats whats on the ticket he couldnt give me a refund and next time i came in that they would try harder to get it right! I was ripped off i literally felt like i got robbed and by the owner of the place! they wont last if they let their owners spread this kind of "midwestern hospitality" here. we left and will never be back again. I like this place. I'm not a meat eater so I usually get the cod sandwich (too much bread so I don't eat the bun) and it's delicious. I LOVE their crinkle fries, perfectly salted! But what draws me back over and over is their frozen custard ... YUMMMMMMM, and it's fun to try their "flavor of the day" which changes daily. You can get a little "month's menu" of the flavor of the day inside too, or check their website. It's close to home and work so I indulge in their frozen custard way more often than I should, but it's delish! Iced tea, 4 out of 5 stars = it's good but not super duper.
