I came here after a morning stroll to take a break from my normal coffee at home. I went through the reviews and there's a lot of good, and some not so good. The beauty about Yelp is you'd get to figure it out yourself too :) There was a bit of a line when I came here, which is always positive. If you look at the reviews, you can tell that this place has been around for a long time. Thats always an indicator that they're doing something right. The entry way has lots of tables and chairs and glass display cases of pastries and breads you can purchase. It's a good vibe. It reminds me of diedrichs coffee, if anyone can remember that place I went with the house coffee; Cumaica blend which was $3.25 for a large. Taste definitely surpassed Starbucks.

Warm and cozy coffee shop right in Mission Street and close to Ocean and Excelsior Avenues. Family owned business. - Coffee and Pastries. Very good selection. They have sandwiches and such available, as well. You will find what you want here. - Customer Service. Very friendly. They took the time to know their customers. They are very pleasant and would go above and beyond to provide the best service. - Location. Located at a very busy neighborhood, parking is very limited - isolated to street parking and one of the many smaller parking spots in and around the neighborhood. Best to walk or take the Muni. - Others. They have a book section where you can donate and get free books. Support local businesses especially these in our neighborhoods. This is a very good coffee shop that we go to and support. Relax, enjoy, and take a sip!

Good local coffee shop! Quick service, fine coffee drinks and good bagels as well! Plenty of seating usually is available, and they have a huge outdoor patio in the back as well! Nice friendly spot for a quick cup of coffee or sitting on the patio.

Couple of tables with chairs outside! :p

Rumor has it that Cumaica is a chain from Martha Bros! They quietly changed the name so that "San Fran" locals wouldn't think it's a chain. True? Regardless, regulars walk in anyway thinking it's the old Martha Bros until they hold their togo cup and realize! Must be the expired whiskey from the night before!! This place is huge though. There was even a large sofa to plop your stuff with free wifi. They have a couple of tables outside so you can people watch to your heart's desire! I'll try to see how my dogs will like it the next time I'm around. Service here was standard. My cappuccino was nice and strong, though; I wished they could make "FLAT COFFEE!" Something, that is extremely hard to find anywhere since most Americans have been "spoiled" with Starbucks, which by the way, it's a whole new topic! Cheers! :p

Had to re-order this frappe, the first one they gave me was watery!
Jessica M.

I asked nicely if I can, get a different drink since the first one was watery and didn't look like a Caramel machiatto frappe. The lady in the register attitude, I was like well if you can't get me something else just throw it away and keep the money, and she was like OK and she threw it out. I was going to have my husband drink it, but she had already threw it out. So they made me a New one, this one was actually a frappe. On the way out the lady at the register was either getting a break or getting off of work. We exchange words, and she was like well it's not my business anyways so if you want to put a complaint just do it. She was very rude, I would just say terrible customer service!

Unprofessional staff and does not open when their schedule says they should be. Coffee is good but the food is not worth it.

I've been coming to Diamond Coffee N' Pastry on Ocean Ave regularly since January, and it's become…read moreone of my favorite places to get a hojicha! I've introduced so many friends to the hojicha einspanner and everyone loves it too! Even though Diamond has multiple locations, this is the only one that serves hojicha. I hope the other locations will add hojicha to their menus too. But what stands out the most to me is the einspanner. It's unbelievably yummy; it's thick, fluffy, and tastes like marshmallows! I could honestly eat a whole bucket of it! The hojicha itself is a little on the lighter side, but it still has a delicious nutty flavor that pairs perfectly with the einspanner. Once it's all mixed together, the balance of nuttiness and sweetness is perfect. The space is super cute and has a cozy camping theme. Most of the seating consists of camping chairs and tables that really tie into the aesthetic, so there are only a few tables that are ideal for studying or getting work done. It's definitely a fun spot to hang out and catch up with friends. I also love all the little tributes to the owners' dog, Diamond. You'll find little touches of Diamond everywhere--from the napkins and cup holders to the free stickers. I highly recommend stopping by and trying the hojicha eispanner. It's the reason I keep coming back! (My brother got the matcha einspanner but idk what he thought of it)

There is also some places are where you can just camp out and relax and enjoy a cup of matcha in the city. So I cross Ocean Avenue for the quest of getting matcha for Don Juan La Matcha at Diamond Coffee N' Pastry. On an Ocean stroll to Ocean Avenue in SF I landed at Diamond Coffee N' Pastry. Inside it looks like I was a camp site but it reminded me more of glamp site. So I tried the cheese and turkey pastry which is as not too cheesy but a bit flakey like some in SF. Don Juan de la matcha had to get the matcha latte. It was not too sweet and it was smooth and tasty. This is a good pit stop and hidden gem called Diamond Coffee N' Pastry on Ocean Avenue. Matcha is Don Juan De La matcha the new magic "potion "with the many different flavor "explosion "with many added flavors are in "motion "and there is place you can catch the matcha wave it's a Diamond on "Ocean" The atmosphere feels like you are in the woods in a "camp"more like you went to "glamp "the decor you see lots of plants along with a "lamp"and once you get a taste of the matcha you are feeling "amp"

Shop is on the smaller side, but does have some minimal seating (one large table and a few bar seats). Pastries, tea and coffee, all available, and a bathroom in the back. Great for grab and go. Not great if you're hoping to sit and chat. Service was fast and efficient. Coffee was hot and delicious. My wife enjoyed her horchata latte. I got the hot chocolate and it was also surprisingly good for a non-coffee option with latte art on the hot chocolate and nice foam top. Their everything croissant was especially delicious, with flaky layers of pastry and a small dab of herbed cream cheese hidden in the center. Coffee Fest beans were available too in their merch section if you missed grabbing some there!

Today I dropped our recently senior rescued dog for his first grooming for us. I came upon an "Old Friend" Java on Ocean Coffee. The café is at the corner or Ocean Avenue and Faxon across the street from the former Walgreens which means amble parking! Java On Ocean Coffee is a classic San Francisco coffee place which has much more than coffee to order. There is a selection of savory breakfast items, sandwiches and smoothie! Given it was after 3 pm I ordered a Mexican Mocha and an oatmeal cookie. The café was fairly packed with nearby Riodan High School students studying about American history "New Deal" with great enthusiasm and laughter! There are 15 tables and plenty of seating including several outside but given the May gray day I cozyed under a poster of famous Mexican artist Frieda to drink my Mexican Mocha today. I look forward to future exploring Ocean Avenue including getting a smoothie or sandwich at the café!
