Bon KBBQ is one of my family's favorite spots for Korean barbecue in the Arlington area. Lunch and dinner are all you can eat, so the value is great for the amount of meat you get. The place is always full when we're there, but I haven't encountered a wait for seating yet. The interior is a little more casual than other kbbq places I've been to which makes it good for a less formal meal. The grills can be a little slow, but our servers were attentive and changed out the grill plates often to help with optimal cooking. The buffet offers a good selection of bonchon dishes and some preprepared meat options. Although the preprepared meats are good, they aren't as fresh so I'd highly recommend ordering from the grill menu to get the best quality meats! read more

I love this place! But today was horrible!!! The hot food kimchi fried rice, glass noodles, Korean fried chicken were all ice cold. I brought it to my waiter attended she at first was confused but then let me know that the steam table on the food wasn't working. So definitely decided to server cold food verses just have hot food in the back of house keeping the food hot and bringing it when requested. I paid $26 with tip to have an experience not worth the price. I was told when I was leaving not satisfied with my experience that the hot food is now hot I was told by the front desk lady!!! I was already there for an hour waiting. So I got screwed over on the experience. Please do better read more

I have rarely left a restaurant feeling as unwelcome and rushed as I did after dining at Bon Korean BBQ. We arrived at approximately 8:45 p.m., fully aware that your posted closing time was 10:00 p.m. We expected to have enough time to enjoy our meal, especially considering that we arrived more than an hour before closing. Instead, by approximately 9:15 p.m., the kitchen and buffet line had already been shut down, leaving us with a limited dining experience and making us feel as though we were being pushed out the door. An all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ experience is intended to be enjoyed at a relaxed pace. Instead, we felt pressured from the moment we sat down. The premature closing of the kitchen and buffet prevented us from enjoying the full experience that we paid for. If customers are welcomed into the restaurant over an hour before closing, they should be given a reasonable opportunity to enjoy the food and service that your restaurant advertises. What disappointed me even more was the attitude conveyed by the staff. Rather than making us feel like valued guests, we were treated as though our presence was an inconvenience. Hospitality should never make customers feel rushed simply because the restaurant is approaching its closing time. This experience has completely changed my opinion of Bon Korean BBQ. Unfortunately, I have no intention of returning, nor can I recommend your restaurant to friends, family, or colleagues based on how we were treated. read more

Came here last night and left completely disappointed. It was a Friday night and surprisingly not busy.The all you can eat bar has a wide range of marinated meats, a hot bar, seafood and vegetables. There are some menu items that you have to ask the waiter for. What ruined this dinner experience was the service. We ordered spicy Korean wings from the menu and had to ask for a follow up twice only to receive them at the end of our dinner. We had to ask for our grill to be changed out after multiple staff passed by us and clearly see it was built with char. The lights are dim making it feel like a sleepy atmosphere which makes sense for an AYCE to get people in and out. Not worth the $27.99 per person at dinner. Food is good so I recommend going for lunch when it's $19.99 per person and it's brighter out so you'll be awake and get your money worth for the AYCE option. read more

I am surprised by the # of 4&5 star reviews. The experience was "fun" in theory having a hot plate at your table and a selection of things to try from the buffet. But overall, the food flavor and quality was poor and not worth the $27 per person. It could have a higher end feel for a date night but it is very casual (like a couple people in PJ pants on a Friday night casual). I like that you turn the light on when you need service. There were staff coming through cleaning plates consistently. From the raw bar, The chicken was marinated in sauce and still somehow bland. The garlic pork belly and thin cut pork rib were somehow both tough and flavorless - maybe would have been better if doused in sauce. The prepared pork bulgogi was good from the hot buffet. The fried rice and kimchi rice were bland. They had a few soups that we didn't try. I appreciated the broccoli and noodle to grill. Would have preferred more vegetables as options. We came by on a Saturday morning right after 11am when they opened. We were greeted by the hostess and properly seated in a comfy booth. Inside this fine establishment the ambiance was set high in a fashionable modern setting. The tone was nice and dim with light and soft music playing in the back. The layout was extremely put together well with full bars of uncooked meat, marinated meat and a bar with buffet already prepared items. They also had a cold bar station that serves cold dishes as well such as seaweed salad, kim cheese, and mac salad. The prepared items consisted of plenty of dishes such as chicken wings, fried rice, and fried noodles and many many more to choose from! The meat station was well put together serving your typical pork belly, marinated bulgogi, and many seafood options like squid, shrimp, and mussels. There was also a soup bar that had seaweed soup with chunks of beef bone inside, miso soup, pumpkin soup, and a clear soup along with finely chopped onions for garnish. When we sat down we were also given menus with more cuts of meat! These meats were your typical beef belly, brisket, short ribs. We were told when we simply need service to switch the lamp on and server will be on their way for service. Everything went well and the service provided was superb! The prices were fair and average and the food quality was unbeatable for the prices. I will definitely come back again and try some different cuts of meat along with different dishes. This is my family's go to spot for kbbq in the area. We love the workers, they are always so kind and attentive and the vibe of the restaurant is great! The food is always fresh and tasty! That being said, this sounds crazy but our favorite item used to be the vegetable beef bulgogi until they got rid of it and now only have the regular beef bulgogi, I'm not sure if they've since changed the marinade or something but it doesn't hit the same? Oh, when it was named another name was my favorite and first Korean barbecue. Under the other name, however it began to degrade, but it was sold and The new owner has made it revive and flourish. I enjoyed all my favorites at the meat bar. There's a large selection of meats that you can get immediately or select meets and select cuts that you can ask for to be delivered to your table. There is far more salads and veg than other Korean barbecue places I've been to. There's also hot and ready food for To Go if you'd like... Yes! I go at least one or twice a month. I'm obsessed with this place. I wish there was one closer to me tho but I still drive to Arlington for this place. I have gone to a lot of Korean bbq places and the prices are insane especially if I want extra rice they charge or if I want more sides they get mad. When we arrived the grill still looked old and torn up like before, but when we asked for a different one they were happy to change the grill to the new set they finally got. This place is not too shabby. The restaurant is a bit sticky but it is mostly kept clean, as well as the restrooms. It is usually busy on weekends and holidays as a heads up. The servers are nice and they help explain any different foods and processes. I like their system of using lights as a way to signal the waiter. The food is pretty good, nice meat, side dishes, and soup. Their best is the thinly sliced pork, beef, marinated rib, and seaweed soup. It's becoming really hard to find good Korean Bbq in Arlington lately. The service here was ok. Nothing above and beyond. For some reason this location has changed owners/names/management at least 3 times in the past 5 years. We don't eat pork and my husband is allergic to seafood. So we usually only eat short ribs and chicken. The last time we went, it was not marinated and the meat had a tint to it. We didn't get food poisoning but we were afraid we might. We keep trying to give the establishment another chance but I think our last visit was the last chance. read more

They have a buffet that has various soups, cooked meal options to include pork bulgogi and a salad bar option The buffet also had items that could also be cooked at your table with all the other options. I didn't feel as though our waitress came around as much as I'm used to but overall the experience was good. This is pretty decent, reasonably priced AYCE Korean bbq. Korean bbq is in my top 5 favorite cuisines. I've eaten Korean bbq in LA and Honolulu, and Korea. I love the banchan, cooking my meat exactly how I want it and eating everything piping hot off the grill. Add some soju and we have a party. My brother and I came here around 5 for dinner on a Saturday. We didn't make a reservation and were seated right away. There were many other people in the restaurant. It is actually surprisingly big! We were seated near the buffet, too, so we didn't have to pass by a lot of people to get food. Unlike Gen, Jin is self serve for a lot of things. They have all the banchan and sauces on one display, and then the raw meat on another table display and a third table display with prepared foods like kimchee fried rice, and fried mandoo. There is even a side table with soups and rice. On top of all that, you can also order off the menu. They have different cuts of beef and pork. For dinner you also have the choice of ordering shrimp and tongue. The banchan were all pretty tasty! I liked the kimchee, potato salad, bean sprouts and seaweed. I liked making my own sesame oil/salt and sauces, too. I especially liked the fluorescent pink pickled radish. For meats, we ordered the LA kalbi, which is the kalbi cut I'm used to eating at home. We also got the pineapple kalbi, the pork cheek and the brisket. I would go for the kalbi; the marinade is great and the meat is tender. The brisket I like better at Gen. We ended the night with the cinnamon sugar drink, which I watered down a bit and the sweet pumpkin "porridge", which is more of a soup consistency. I didn't eat any tongue and the shrimp were just ok. I think you're better off eating here during lunch for only $15 because you get pretty much the same selection of meats for $8 less! I wish I could give a separate rating of the service and the food. Since I can't, I must give 3 stars. The service was excellent!! I would give them !! They were attentive and anticipated the needs of the guests. The food, however, leaves much to be desired. The banchan options are great. Sadly, however, the flavor is subpar. Examples: spicy tofu - tough tofu and was not marinated in the chili sauce long enough; spicy noodles had no flavor and were definitely not spicy; macaroni salad tasted like mayonnaise with the occasion sweet when lucky enough to bite a corn kernel. The cucumbers and japchae weren't bad...just not "good". Now to the meat....we ordered the LA Galbi. Unlike traditional Korean recipes in which the meat has been marinated for hours, the LA Galbi here had oil, salt, and pepper on it and was low quality meat. The "veggie beef bulgolgi" from the buffet line of raw meats cooked up deliciously! We took extra marinade and poured it over the LA Galbi while cooking in hopes of the meat absorbing at least some of the marinade. Not sure if we will return. Definitely was not worth $18 per person for lunch and there is no way I would pay $26 for dinner. The changes are good and the price is still reasonable compared to other kbbq. $24.99 AYCE but now they have menu items, very similar to GEN. Meat quality has improved, greater selection as well. I had the most TERRIBLE experience at this Korean BBQ restaurant in Arlington today, and I'm beyond furious! I went there with kids, and while we were waiting for our food, my baby threw up at the table. I immediately apologized to the waiter, who at least was understanding and moved us to a new table -- that was literally the only decent part of the experience. Not long after, a hostess came over, wearing a mask, and placed napkins on our table, telling me they were for cleaning up. I assumed they were for my baby's mess since there were no napkins at the table, and my baby had vomit on both his and my clothes, plus he was exhausted from being sick. I went to the restroom to clean up, and when I came back, the vomit was STILL on the floor. No cleaning staff had bothered to take care of it, while other customers sat at nearby tables and ate. Unbelievable. Then, when I asked for the check, the same hostess handed it to me and, with the nastiest attitude, told me I had to clean up the vomit before I could leave. She kept raising her voice, demanding I clean the floor myself. She said, "You need to use those napkins to clean up the mess on the floor." I apologized AGAIN for the mess and asked if there was any cleaning staff to help, offering to pay for a cleaning fee. She just snapped, "No, we don't have cleaning staff here. You have to clean it yourself." I calmly explained, "I'm sorry, but my baby is too little, he's not feeling well, and he's clinging to me. I'm willing to pay for the cleaning, but I can't mop the floor as you're asking." She then raised her voice even more and said, "No, you're the mom, so you're responsible for your child's mess. You have to clean it up!" And then she stormed off in a huff. I couldn't believe the disrespect and rudeness I was dealing with. I called my husband to explain what happened, and he told me to just leave. Customers do not clean mop the floor especially while having little baby. This was the worst customer service I've ever experienced, and I shouldn't have to clean the floor for a sick baby. I approached the server, who had been polite throughout the meal, and asked if he could help clean up. I offered to pay him, even though I had already tipped 20%. Then, my son stepped in and offered to help as well. In the end, the server and my son ended up cleaning the floor. I left that restaurant feeling absolutely disrespected and infuriated. The hostess not only left the mess there the entire time but then had the audacity to demand that I clean it up. It was a sickening experience, and I will NEVER be coming back. I'm sharing this on Facebook and with my friends and family so they don't have to deal with this kind of awful treatment. Welcome to the restaurant business -- you've just lost a TON of customers by treating a mom and her sick child like that. Came back to see if the food was as good as i remember. Great spicy beef bulgogi, the chicken wings were crispy despite sitting in sauce for a few minutes. The intestines were not for us, but greatly enjoyed the cold side bar and hot appetizer bar. My only recommendation would be to add tofu to the miso soup and maybe some more sauce options but it wasn't damaging to the experience. Also loved the dessert drink. read more

I really liked the meat and other food options at Jin, although I had to debate for a little while if I should give it four or five stars. If it was based upon just the food alone, I would probably give it five stars. I really liked the self-serve buffet tables, as well as the precautions for Covid, such as wearing gloves. Some of the items you could serve yourself at the buffet tables were delicious, I especially loved some of the spicy noodles and the macaroni salad that they had there. There was also some meats you could gather from there, as well as others that you could order from the server. While there was a pretty decent variety in the food options and the meats available, the price seemed pretty high compared to other places in the area. My main issue, however, was with the service. Good service is a really big deal to me, as I like to enjoy an experience when going out. Don't get me wrong, the servers were all very friendly and helpful! It was just really hard to get any of their attention and to get simple things like drink refills or more meat ordered. That was despite the dining area only having a few other diners during the time which we were there. If not for this issue, I probably would've given them five stars. I loved the food here though and I will probably give them another try and see if it's any different! read more
