Been here many times over the years. Overall, the food is probably more like 4 stars. I'm giving a 3 as my wonton beef noodle soup, there wasn't much flavor as I had to add my own sauces. Also, some of the noodles were clumped, as in maybe sitting out too long? I tried to break them apart but the soup wasn't hot enough to make any difference. Unfortunately, that ruined my beef noodle soup with wonton. Having just visited Hong Kong 2 weeks ago, I had the craving for it, but it disappointed. The chicken stir fry was good. The fried tofu was ok as well, but the batter was a bit heavy. Many times, the batter and tofu would separate once you bite into it. If they can just make it little less on batter, it would be spot on as the tofu itself was tender and fresh

The food is always fabulous fresh and very Chinese family style meaning huge proportions qualities and exceptional service. Don't forget they only accept cash money no cards accepted in unless DoorDash or Uber eats. But it's my favorite place of all times it is so damn good. I can't get enough of it. I drive 55 miles just to go to there. I go twice a week yummy yummy get you some today. @whoagirl007 is me baby

I'm so so sad to have to say this as it's been a place our family has frequented since I was a child, but just for the safety of others- I ordered a lot of food from here last night and ended up with severe food poisoning. I felt the effects just 45 minutes after eating. It was excruciating pain and almost sent me to urgent care. The one thing my family did not eat was the BBQ pork, which I had multiple pieces of so we think that's the culprit. I'm still dealing with the food poisoning symptoms on day 2 and hope to be done with it soon. Please be careful!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The food is always great here and they have updated the seating which is nice and new dishes![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had a great waitress as she actually came and check on us but we love this place and price is a lil high now.

This was my first time coming here and I will be definitely coming back soon. The prices are reasonable, service is fast and friendly, and the food is really good. One last thing: It's cash only, so bring lots of cash.

Roasted duck and bbq pork are good. All other food is below average with too much oil. Service is a little bit slow. The salted chicken was not good. The clam was tiny with much sand and smell fishy. Wonton soup has meat smell. Beef was too chewy. Over all too much oil and low quality. They charge tip automatic for group of 5 and above.

I ordered UberEats since I got no time to stop by for pick up but this is the kind of dishes I'm receiving never again

This is kinda the definition of a hole in the wall Chinese restaurant! That being said, the food is really good, but you go just for the food. I've came here multiple times with family and have sometimes had a really rude man as the waiter who talks rudely in Chinese which I can clearly understand(not sure what the point is). But recently when I came we were served by a really friendly and accommodating woman who I believe is the owner or the owners wife! She's great. Now for the food, for 3 people we got half a roast duck, beef pan fried noodles, and beef chow fun. All really friendly dishes to anybody who hasn't had too much exposure to actual Chinese food! I would definitely come back assuming we get similarly good service!

I have been going here to year for their roaster duck, bbq pork, fried rice. Most recently, their wonton woup with slices of bbq pork is my fave. I am writing this review to let others know that the service has improved. First of all the male person answering the phone is polite and not rushed. Typically, service in these establishments are nothing to write about. It seems as if the young guys are now more taking over the family business. They seem to understand more about service as they are efficient but also asked patrons how is everyone is good. So now along with good dishes, the service has stepped up (at least for me).

Love this place for their roasted bbq. The staff was nice and joked around with us. We also ordered fish with tofu, flat beef noodle and mushroom with vegetables. Everything was delicious and they gave tons of white rice. The leftover made great takeout boxes afterwards. We'll def be back again!

Service is ok but the food is a true winner! Bbq pork is my personal favorite. Hot and sour soup will cure any sickness too.

By the time the store opened, the line had grown to being over twenty parties long, so plan accordingly if you don't want to be waiting for a while. Between the four in our party, we shared a three meat BBQ plate with bacon burnt ends, brisket, and their house made sausage. For our two sides, we chose their hatch chile mac n cheese and their Mexican street corn. Following the recommendations of many Yelpers, we also ordered two of the brisket tostadas and two of the birria tacos. When we received our plate of meat, I was a bit surprised at how little of each meat there was on the plate, but in hindsight, this ended up being the perfect amount of food, where everyone was able to get a sample of everything. Of the items we ordered, my favorite was definitely the burnt ends. These were melt in your mouth tender, and was insanely rich and decadent. Each of the three pieces in our order had a beautiful bark on the outside that resulted in a satisfying crunch with every bite. The casing to the sausage was snappy and the sausage itself was very juicy. The brisket was fall apart tender. The brisket was a bit light on seasoning, so I ended up using the Aztec Gold BBQ sauce they had sitting at the table with it. The sides that we chose were both delicious. The pasta in the mac n cheese was cooked perfectly and the noodles was generously sauced. The elote was sweet and smokey, and the Cotija cheese added creaminess to the side. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Hurtado Barbecue and wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit if you're in Texas and are looking for great tasting BBQ.

Each dish had unique use of Ethiopian inspiration, especially the nachos I had. The platter is huge and there is no way one person can finish it. The chips are Ethiopian toast points and added a crunch that was delightful. The ribs were cooked perfectly. They did not fall off the bone which we like. They are true competition ribs allowing you to nibble off the bone. Granddaughter loved the flavor and juicy quality of her brisket! I'm giving the restaurant 3 stars because we had to wait for our food for over an hour. The wait staff were a bit indifferent to our order and had to be reminded twice our order was not complete. The restaurant was not that busy prompting me to believe there is a disconnect between the front and back of the house. The restaurant is in a strip center in Arlington. It's a comfortable little restaurant and bar and the adult beverages looked delicious!!

This place is AMAZING, it's the best BBQ I've had in my life (I lived in Texas for 20+ years). All the meats were amazing. The pork rib was the best thing, so tender and juicy. The pork belly was a huge surprise - it's so good too. The turkey was one of the most moist turkey I've ever had my entire life. The sausage was cheesy and juicy, one of the best ones I've had. The brisket was solid too, but surprisingly my least favorite of all the meat I ordered. The desserts were decent, but I don't think I would order that again. Would 100% come back and it's definitely worth the 2-3 hour wait. I would recommend coming early at 8 or 9 AM to wait in line and avoid the food selling out (which happens as the day goes on - pretty much everything is sold out by 1 PM).

If you like a stronger black pepper taste in your bbq then I think you'll like it. I do think their subtle asian twists on bbq is cool and unique. Ordered: - Brisket - They give alternate half and half lean vs moist. It was good I liked it. - Beef Ribs - Mom was interested in trying it so we got it. I'm just a pork rib girl more than a beef rib girl. - Pork Ribs - Unfortunately, it wasn't as "fall of the bone" as other places. It may have just been the piece we got, but the one we had was 70% bark and 30% meat (if that make sense, I prefer more of a true 50/50 split) - Lamb Ribs - Not something you see at every bbq so we got some to try. I liked it. Can't decide which one I like more between pork vs lamb ribs. - Lao Sausage - Their sausage is kinda big. I felt like 1 sausage is the size of 2 sausages at other bbq joints. It's serves with sticky rice and honestly it works really well. - Mac & Cheese - A bit heavy on the pepper. It was alright not my favorite mac and cheese. - South Carolina Pork Hash - a unique side that is special to them. Pork Gravy over jasmine rice. Too mushy for me. - Lemon Kale Slaw - It was alright. Not my favorite slaw. - Banana Pudding - Yummy. I really like their banana pudding. It had a slight cinnamon and almost graham cracker taste to it. - House made bread - Yummy. Almost like a sweet roll meets white bread. We went on a rainy Friday morning. Arrived at 9:30 ish, got our food and seated by 12:30 ish. Asked the dude first in line what time he got there and he said 7:30ish. People abandon their lawn chairs so they had a decent amount near the entrance of the store that people just borrow while they're waiting. When the rain got bad, they let customers wait in the covered area where they store the smokers which was nice.
