Obviously I had the pancakes. Stack four high, light and fluffy with an incredible mouth feel. My friend had the classic breakfast with two eggs, toast, hash browns and choice of meat. Chicken sausage was a giant grilled link. Eggs were perfection, runny yolk great to dip the toast. Crisp hash browns, slightly salty and plentiful. Fresh squeezed orange juice rounded out our meals. The line is a bit intimidating and the process is a bit confusing, but just wait in line and the staff will help you once you get to the front. I also tried a bite of their biscuits and gravy and it was also unlike any biscuits and gravy - very flavorful, but not quite the flavor I prefer for biscuits and gravy. Overall, I'd come again. Wowowow! In the city for the weekend. My sister and I had been here in July and loved it - so I suggested it to my husband. He immediately loved the vibe and wonderfully overwhelmed by the choices. We came at noon but went with breakfast type items.. He chose the BLTA plus chicken and I had the avocado wrap. Just like my visit in July the line was out the door. This place has service down to a science. We were seated and served within 10 minutes. He kept saying "wow this is good". Came here for brunch today and which is my first full day in Chicago. The midwestern omelette I ordered was so fluffy I had to write my yelp review before I left. After a nice morning walk, stumbled up Cupitol and was really impressed. The vibes were calm, no loud music which I think draws customers with laptops in. I ordered an Iced latte which was delicious, it had a slight froth on top and didn't feel watered down after leaving it for too long. The orange juice is super fresh which was perfect for a hot summer day. This place is my second home, and I wouldn't have it any other way. They have amazing food, drinks, and servers!!! The gravlax and eggs is a healthy, fresh, and reasonably priced option, and there's always tons of pastries and baked goods to order as well. Their Greek themed coffees and bakery items are some of the best in the downtown area. Like seriously, you cannot go wrong with a freddo coffee and a spinach pie. I also can't praise the servers and baristas enough. They're some of the kindest, loveliest people ever. Always check in on customers and strike up conversation, but leave you to your company or work once you're settled. That, and the good food, makes this place perfect for a family meal, a date, or just a place to veg out and study. Capitol has a great selection of different coffee drinks that are all exceptional. Their cortado is smooth as can be and comes out with a little milk froth design. The breakfast food here is the same quality as other popular breakfast spots around town. Everything I see come out of the kitchen looks delicious so be prepared to have some serious order fomo. Their omelette are a filling size and are packed with all sorts of toppings you can pick. The French toast will catch your eye for sure. She brought multiple wrong items and never knew what was what. We had to guess what plate gost to whom. Overall, the food was really good and delicious. Beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of downtown Chicago. It's an oasis amidst the storm. Coffee with refills is a whopping $2.50. It's such a steal! Cream, whole milk and plenty of sugars to doctor it up, but honestly, it's a solid, strong cup of joe and doesn't need it! They also offer regular and sparkling water on tap, and an array of delicious looking desserts. Given the area, I would definitely return the next time I'm downtown and have work to get done. The outside is lightly caramelized on top and flaky. One of the best I've had. I don't know if they bake it in house or have it brought in but either way, Gold Stars and A Pluses!
