Still one of our go to places for Mexican food...the service isn't as it used to be, been dining here for 25 years, but the food has been consistent.

So it's been some time since I've visited Cuquita's, but we were very pleased! From their carne guisada, tacos de lengua & the red/green enchiladas. Even with 16 guests, everything turned out well,

One of my top mexican restaurants in dallas! I recommend the enchiladas and mexican coke!

I was craving guiso de puerco and this was one of the few places that popped up on imaps. It was a little on the salty side so that was disappointing. Although very few places get it right, it's always a hit or miss with this dish at any restaurant. Tortillas were handmade they give you a sampler tortilla with your chips and salsa. Service was good and fast! I was seated right away and served my food within 5 minutes of ordering. Food was hot and beer was cold! Waitresses are wearing Mexican dresses which adds to the Mexican theme inside. Place was packed on Saturday around 3pm. I will stop by and try other items on the menu if I'm ever in the area.

    Pazole

I haven't been here in 7-10 years and maybe I know better food now. Idk. I did a michelada with a topo Chico because I love micheladas. This was decent. I won't lie. The whole cup was almost full of just mix. The chips have got to be out of a cheap bag! Worst chips in an authentic Mexican restaurant!!!!!!! Like seriously change this asap! Salsas we're good. I love when they give u a warmed up salsa as an option. I ordered pazole as this is what I used to come here for. Now I love a green pazole but most places are red. I give this a 3. No taste and idk how it doesn't have taste but thank goodness I could put the cabbage and onions in. The corn tortillas were good dipped in the salsa by the way. Now where I want to try the Chile relano idk if I'll ever come back. But I am super picky with my Mexican food. And no I'm not a Tex mex gal!

I'm not sure why people like the food here. I've been two times and it's not very good. For instance today I ordered fajita nachos. Take a look at the pic of my nachos. What do you see? Do you see dog shit? Well I did and left that plate right where it was. Well that was until my friend was eating and I was hungry. So I tried it and guess what it tasted like? Dog Poop!! I immediately asked for my check and got the heck out of dodge!!

Cuquita's is a place that I had passed by for so long and always wanted to try. I've been there twice now and feel like I know enough to review them. I usually judge a good Mexican restaurant by their rice and beans, the rice and beans are sub-par here however I gave it a 4 star review because everything else is so good. The first time I ordered a chicken quesadilla and a bowl of menudo. Both were delicious. The 2nd time I ordered flautas, also delicious. The chips and salsa are good and their waitresses are nice. The place gets packed so that's a good sign and they are very authentic! Overall I highly recommend this place if you're looking for some good Mexican food.

Our cocktails were all good - and the appetizers were very good. We had the crispy pork belly and the tostaditas with barbacoa. The crispy pork belly was especially delicious and I would order as my own dinner in the future. It comes with onions and sauces and corn tortillas and it's to die for - so crispy and flavorful. We ordered the Bistec enchiladas and they were good but not as good as the appetizers. They give you a variety of sauces when you're seated that you keep throughout the meal - from mild to spicy but I would say the "spicy" is on the mild side. Still good and flavorful but not unapproachable for most ppl. We had the Campechana dessert and it was a little strange. It was basically a vanilla Icecream cake with a crispy waffle cone like layering that was really hard to break until it sat a while. It was oddly addicting but also not that good? I can't explain it. We went to the cigar lounge area after dinner and had Mexican espresso martinis and watched football before heading home. There was little smoke smell but very minimal until it got later. Around 8:30 (on a Saturday night) ppl started smoking cigars and they opened the side windows and being 90degrees right now - it became less enjoyable so we decided to end the night. In the fall that room would probably be quite lovely with the windows open. They have comfortable seating and fire pits. Really more of a 4.5 out of 5. Loved the decor near the restrooms and patio too.

This queso is probably the best I've ever had. BTW it is a LIL spicy but I can let that slide. Another great appetizer option would be the Nachos Al Carbon with wagyu. Super good too & honestly you can even order it for just one person as a main dish-- the serving size is big enough. BUT THE REAL STAR OF THE SHOW AT LAS PALMAS ARE THE WAGYU FAJITAS!!! Incredible. Comes with flour or corn tortillas, beans, rice, and obviously the works: sour cream, guacamole, lettuce. You know the vibes. Speaking of vibes, they're always there at Las Palmas. It is always busy but I genuinely don't care and never mind waiting an hour and a half for our table. It's worth it. This place is a confirmed staple in Dallas. Probably come here once a month if not more often. Thank you for great food and good service too- that's hard to come by nowadays. TRY THIS PLACE OUT! This is your sign!

The seamless valet service and warm, professional welcome set the tone for an afternoon in their beautifully appointed dining room. Our server, Carlos, was truly exceptional. He went beyond standard service by sharing the history and traditions behind the menu, which added a wonderful layer of depth to our meal. The Queso Flameado, prepared tableside, was a highlight, followed by excellent entrées and a perfect Tres Leches cake. It is clear that Manager Tony has cultivated a world-class team; every interaction, from the host to the dining staff, was polished and welcoming. Las Palmas offers some of the finest Mexican cuisine in Dallas, elevated by genuine hospitality. We will certainly be returning and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a premier dining experience. There was a time when Meso Maya was the go-to for upscale Mexican in Dallas. The culinary scene in Dallas has changed so much that it is not longer the case. But the downtown Meso Maya remains an icon and continues to deliver consistently good food and service. The restaurant still has the warm ambience and remains in good condition even after all these years. It was too hot to sit on the patio so we ate indoors. The interior is smaller than I remember. The restaurant still starts you out with complimentary chips which are strips, and a smoky, spicy salsa. it was great. I started with the a mescal margarita and it was excellent. The kid had Topo Chico and the wife had Prosecco. Everyone enjoyed their drink. For entrees, the wife had her favorite, the vegetable budin, which is like a lasagna. The flavors were deep and rich. She loved it. I tried the carne tacos and they were excellent! The meat was tender and smoky. The beef had been marinated for a wonderful flavor. Good quality with no fat. I usually avoid ordering beef at restaurants because I often get more fat than meat which I detest, but not at Meso Maya. Our server Luis was very good. Present when we wanted and not when we did not. Overall, the restaurant was a hit on every level--ambience, service, and food. We like the downtown location the best and will return.
