This is a good spot for authentic Mexican tacos, it is clean and has AC. The service is good and the orders come out pretty fast. The tortillas are homemade and all the meat choices are good. The red salsa is definitely my go to with the tacos because the green one is extremely spicy! My go to order is pastor tacos with the delicious horchata, but the tripita, shrimp and steak are super good too. I also recommend the menudo on the weekends, it's so good! This place is CASH ONLY so keep that in mind. They also have an ATM just in case. My only complaint will be the portions being served on the tacos now. They used to serve a really good portion of meat before and now seems like they have been lowering that amount. I've been a customer for years so I can definitely tell the difference. read more

Love this place. My husband and I order to-go from this taco spot at least 2x a month, so we've had their food maybe 20x. The pastor tacos are amazing and SO flavorful! I really enjoy their quesadillas, as well. I haven't been able to find tacos that I enjoy more than this place, and I consider myself a taco connoisseur. I don't like that they only take cash (time to get with the times!), however, there is an ATM inside. Definitely check this place out and be sure to get a pastor taco! The steak tacos are good, too. Tortillas were great! Clean and friendly staff. A lot of reviews say no one speaks English, but all the staff I interacted with did. Quesadilla was great! Bigger tacos than Torchy's tacos priced at $3 each. Comes with meat only. Sides on table. Cilantro and onion mixed. Then cucumbers and lime. Green and red sauces were good. Pretty packed. Ive always passed by this place when I shop at Kroger. I wasnt sure if it was worth checking out, but luckily there were a few yelpers who gave it positive reviews. The atmosphere is a bit gaudy. The people are nice, but the service is not the best. Even the food a took a little longer than normal. I think I sat there for 20 minutes staring at the salsas on the table. Their tortillas are not the usually corn tortillas. They are bigger ad much softer. I almost thought they were flour as I picked them up. Once you get over the texture difference, these tacos are a real treat! The pastor is delectably sweet and savory. The beef steak had great marinade. The goat was bu far the highlight of the meal. They took a life of their own when it came to flavor. The gaminess of the goat was just the right amount to pack some flavor. My least favorite was the cabeza. The meat was basically cubed fat that didnt render soft enough to dissolve in your mouth. The salsas they offer are definitely spicy! I would say use the sauce lightly until you get use to the burn. These sauces can steal all the thunder of the meat's flavor if you use too much. The verde sauce was surprisingly way hotter than the rojo. I also like the fact they give you big bowls of cilantro, onions, cucumbers, and limes. I was very pleased with my meal. I had certain tacos in mind, but these far exceeding what I could have imagined. They look dry in pictures but thats far from reality. Not the best but definitely not the worse. I would not try again. The green hot sauce was great though if you like your hot sauce hot. Did not care much for the red. It was super smokey. I had the head meat the Chivo (goat) and something else. The head meat was OK the rest lacked freshness. This place is a hole in the wall. First know they only take cash. Second they make their tortillas fresh. The Tacos here are about $2.50 to $3 each but they are BIG! Not your usual tiny "street taco" tortilla. I usually get 2 Tacos for myself. They have cabeza, al pastor etc. You can get quesadillas, torras (sandwiches), etc. They also have auguas frescas like or haya, Jamaica and more. This place overall is great. The staff mostly speak Spanish fluently but they do speak English. Most tables only seat 2 or 4 people but they do have a place for large groups. read more

If you haven't hadn't a Vance to go to Mexico or right by the border as in McAllen, Laredo, Brownsville, then you would know that ALL TAUQERIAS SERVE BEANS AND OR CHIPS AND SALSA EVERYTIME WITHOUT CHARGE This restaurant didn't even have that on their extras menu. The green salsa was spicy but the flavor was too cilantro based and it wasn't satisfying and the red salsa was legit a mockery of real red salsa. These people are ripping you off. $2.50 for a small taco? BRUH i get a combo back home with 4 tacos the same size or bigger for $5. My experience at this restaurant was a bit disappointing. Whomever is in charge of this staff needs to really think of doing something else. I'm usually not a person that judges a restaurant based on looks since most of the times the food is what makes the restaurant. Right!? Note: This restaurant ONLY takes cash Note: I came to the restaurant twice on the same day, (lunch, and dinner), since we were working on all day project that kept us at the office most of the day. On both of my visits, the smell at the restaurant was BAD. As if the person that's in charge of mopping the floors was reusing the same water from a week ago. Man, it smelled really bad. I was hoping that it was a one time thing when I came during the lunch hour...but, it wasn't the case. I came close to leaving...but, the coworkers decided to give this place another chance regardless of the smell. Just in case you're wondering what brought me back, the homemade tortillas that this place does for their tacos, and their freshly made salsas are very good. And the portions are huge too...wow, I couldn't believe the size of the tacos, and quesadillas. This place is definitely a place for eating big portions for a cheap price. The flavors of the food are a bit hit, and miss. At times, the food had the can food taste...man, it was a bit disappointing. If it wasn't for the awesome homemade tortillas that this place makes....I would have been giving this restaurant a Two Star rating. Very tasty food, but beware they only accept cash and they don't tell you until you are about to pay. There is only a tiny sing at the entrance door that's says " solo efectivo" which means cash only. I speak my first langauge and I totally miss the sign. It is cash only so come prepared so you don't have to run over to the atm that's in the parking lot. They also only speak Spanish so brush up on your lessons, luckily That wasn't an issue but I could see it being an issue for people with little to no Spanish skills. The steak street tacos were delicious, and they have bottled comes from Mexico which are the best because they have real sugar and they have horchata which tasted great and really fresh. Not super impressed but I guess it wasn't awful for the price. We got carnitas, steak, chicken, spicy pork, and cow head. The cow head was kind of fatty, the chicken was plain and unseasoned, the carnitas were okay but greasy, the steak had some decent flavor but also fatty, and the spicy pork had the best flavor but not really spicy. The red salsa is bitter so I didn't have much. The tomatillo was flavorful but too SPICY for this gringo. Not bad overall I suppose but definitely not much to shout about. read more

This is honestly one of my favorite Taqueria. Delicious food and great aguas frescas. The service is not so great. They lack of attentiveness, training and respect. I paid at the Cash Register, the lady gave me the change and proceeded to say "Here is a Tip Jar just in case you want to Tip" when i already had left her a 20% tip at the table. I work in the restaurant industry and i know to tip even for a bad service. I feel very disrespected that I will not be coming back. read more
