I end up here whenever I'm thinking I need a cafe to focus on work. I love the vibe here - there's a ton of seating across a few rooms and most people I've seen are also working on laptops, reading books, and quietly listening to their headphones. You have to park on the cobblestone street which really adds to the appeal. I normally grab a bagel, but today I was in an avocado toast mood. The breads and ingredients are always fresh and the drinks are thirst-quenching. There are shelves near the register where local artists sell some goods. The staff is great. You really can't go wrong with Cure if you need a bite and space to revise.
I love that they have alcohol and coffee here. Their coffee is good but I don't like that they charge extra for almond milk. I got the cranberry muffin and it was a bit dry but flavor was good.
I got an iced crème brûlée latte large ($7.5) with almond milk (+$1) and it was made in about 10 minutes. Coffee was quite good! Great balance of sweetness and coffee. Staff were very friendly and the interior was clean. A good spot to sit down and relax or work. I would come back again! Drink(50%): 8.0 Staff/service(25%): 7.5 Value(25%): 7.0 Overall: 7.6/10
Every time I come here I am very satisfied. A cute location near downtown, adjacent to cobblestone streets and old-town charm! I've never had a bad coffee here. Love the almond joy latte or the honey cin. I'm not a fan of seafood, so I get my bagel and "lox" with bacon instead. Don't knock it til you try it! Beautiful presentation, and a nice modern coffeehouse vibe inside. One of my favorite places in Norfolk.
This is such a cute and cozy coffee shop. I really enjoy the daily rotating treats in the display case by the register--there's always something new to try. My favorite so far has been the German chocolate cupcake! On this visit, I ordered the ham & cheese croissant, and it was hands-down the most filling croissant I've had in the area--absolutely packed with ham. One small downside: I wish they offered cold foam on drinks beyond just a few select coffee options. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't add it to my matcha. I'd probably group that under service, but overall, still a lovely spot to stop by!
Great food and drinks! The café has a very nice atmosphere--perfect for sitting, relaxing, and chilling for a while. Parking was also easy to find, which made the visit even better. Definitely a nice spot to enjoy coffee and spend some time.
Upon entering, the coffeehouse is extremely cute. A good size and aesthetically pleasing. The chai tea was okay, not the best I've ever had, as well as the muffin. My sister loved her matcha. The cashier was a little rude, she definitely could've been nicer especially given that was our first time at the shop. I'm unsure if i will return.
I stopped by Cure Coffeehouse during my trip to Virginia. They had a lot of options to choose from on their menu, but I really enjoyed the Daily Grind breakfast sandwich alongside my iced honey cinnamon latte. The service was excellent as they were helpful during the ordering process of my visit. Inside, they have a very open layout throughout the shop, making it feel comfortable and welcoming. They also have a variety of seating options which was convenient. The addition of board games made my experience more memorable. If you're looking for a friendly atmosphere with great food and coffee, make sure to stop by if you're in the area!
Super cute coffee shop with yummy food and drinks! Service is fast and very friendly and a great atmosphere to chill, socialize or work. Lots of food and drink options for those with dietary restrictions. I really enjoyed the everything bagel with smashed avocado and lox! My husband had the turkey sandwich and really enjoyed it too :)
This is a pretty popular cafe near downtown. Decent amount of seating inside, but it's usually filled especially on the weekends. Quiet and clean space. Plenty of options for coffee and even alcohol if you do choose. As for the food, I got the Turkey Fig and Pastrami Reuben. The turkey fig is one of the more popular items per the worker, and she was not wrong. The turkey pairs well with the goat cheese and arugula, giving it a nice crunch. The Reuben had a generous amount of pastrami and came nice and toasted.
Me and my daughter are in town from Houston , TX and this location seems to be in walking distance from seeing many historical sites. Both food and coffee are delicious
Such a cute coffee shop and spacious! The match latte was very good. And the apple cupcake was cute and moist. Frosting was bit too sweet. The hangover helper sandwich was delicious. The sandwich could have used more meat. The service was very friendly.
Every visit to Cure Norfolk has been a delightful experience! The food is mouthwateringly good and the drinks are always spot-on, enhancing each meal. What I truly cherish about Cure is the relaxed vibe--it's never overcrowded (when I get there), which means grabbing a table is a breeze. It's so nice to be able to unwind and enjoy the ambiance and conversations with friends. This place is a gem for anyone who appreciates great food and a peaceful setting to enjoy it in. This is one of those neighborhood spots that just works. The location in historic Freemason District is easily accessible to downtown Norfolk and nearby Ghent. Coffee creations vary with the seasons, though you can also never go wrong with their house blend. Definitely worth a visit. read more
Still a fan. Take 2 for me this round, and I went to work for a couple of hours there ... pretty busy this time. Tried something new: a creme brulee latte w/ almond milk. Another pretty coffee, and just a great spot to sit and work and be surrounded by great white noise. Not sure if I mentioned on my last review, but it's street parking only and can be a pain, but hopefully you get lucky! Can't stay away from that cobblestone. One of my favorite study spots in Norfolk. I love their lattes, especially the lavender mocha and honey cin. The avocado toast with goat cheese on top hits the spot. I also really love their frittata! Cure is on the pricier side of coffee shops in the area - they do have a rewards program! It also gets a bit chilly here in the winter because there's a draft... I always bring a blanket scarf if I plan to hang out a while. read more

Eh wasnt impressed... to be fair we came on a busy Saturday morning, what we weren't told is that it would be 30+ minutes for a bagel w/ cc and whatever breakfast sandwich my husband ordered. Only when i followed up with staff was my food next in line to be made. I get being busy... but 30+ minutes for relatively quick items? Had we been told that at checkout we would have gone elsewhere. Nothing was comped or added for the wait. Chai latte was pretty small and missing chai flavor, husbands black coffee was good. Parking is virtually non existent, it's pricey, and the indoor atmosphere echos horribly... not ideal for someone you'd want to do work. I don't see myself coming back. read more

Loved this place in Downtown Norfolk! They have unique coffee flavors and they use counterculture coffee beans which means they know good coffee. The whole coffee shop was full of students and great artwork. Everyone was really nice. I didn't understand why it was called a brasserie but other than that we loved it. I got the Lavender mocha which was amazing. I didn't like the churro latte because it was too subtle but it had potential to be amazing! read more
I see the appeal of Cure. Its hip and cool and there is a pretty legit menu. Its in a cute part of town and the people watching is fantastic, although, they are lacking in the product department. I was generally unimpressed with both of the coffees I tried, Churro & Lavender Mocha and to be honest, there wasn't much of a difference. It just tasted like, coffee. They also take an unreasonably long time to get food on your table which is irritating since its a small place. This isn't to say I wont go back, I never said the coffee was bad, it just needs more of whatever they are trying to say it tastes like. read more

Another very "Hipster" spot in Norfolk! Cure Coffee House & Brasserie - not the worst, but not the best coffee I've ever had. I've been twice so far, once I tried a hot latte, and second time recently - an iced version of their many latte flavors, Crazelnut to be specific. They do have many flavors to choose from such as: JOY - dark chocolate & almond MINT CONDITION - vanilla & peppermint SUGAR COOKIE - vanilla & almond CRAZELNUT - caramel & hazelnut There are about ten or eleven more types. I really love my coffee and lattes light, these were a bit too light, even for me. The decor here is very modern; very industrial, but also mixed. There's metal, there's wood, there are some lifesavers on the wall if you look up, while ordering your coffee. I'm not opposed to coming here again, though. I will try something else, and maybe even their food. Cure is ok! read more

can't believe my first visit was only a few weeks ago!! i knew it was there, but i didn't expect to love this place as much as i did :'-) i only got a coffee (and it was great), but one of my friends ordered some food that looked good too! anyway, if i lived in norfolk.... this would def be a regular stop for me lmao read more
I found my new go-to cafe for school. This is the perfect spot to take refuge in between classes. It's no question here when you make the commitment to set foot on Cure's grounds you must treat yoself. You will undergo a fulfilling and lighthearted escapade and go about filling yourself with flavorful and portioned sandwiches, savory lattes, local brews on tap, organic pastries, vibrant music, comfy seating, and excellent costumer service. The first time I went here, about last week I went here around the tip in the afternoon. I was a bit starved and tired from sitting down all day in the library and class, I was doing some work and studying the usual and thought to myself, "man, a beer sounds good right now...if only there was a place where I can do my school work in a cafe and drink beer/wine at the same time, with tasty food." My partner suggested this place to me and I was far beyond impressed. Their lunch menu is about one page and straight to the point without skipping on quality ingredients. I saw goat cheese which I freakin love and had to try their "Grilled Plum and Goat" sandwich $8. My partner ordered the "Pastrami Reuben" sandwich $9. While we waited we tried Ballast Point's "Victory at Sea" coffee porter. It had enough to give us the loosening up we needed. It took about 15 minutes for the entrees to come out. The first bite was the most memorable. At first looks the Plum and Goat sandwich appears ordinary, but I was proved wrong. It was probably one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. Not bc I love goat cheese. It was the ever so slight sweetness of the pain de champagne that somehow brings out that beautiful blend of texture and savoriness. You know what I mean? That magical essence I've been desperately dying to experience on my taste buds. I tried a bite (or few) of the Pastrami Reuben sandwich and first thing you notice is how juicy the meat is. This is all I ask for!! You know how many times I've tried dry pastrami sandwiches, and how many times I've eaten sandwiches with so much stuffing that you don't even know what your eating, and how many times I've had to ask for extra sauce on the side to mask the blandness. It's an establishment like Cure's that guide me to trust in people who only want to provide good food, service, and an enjoyable atmosphere to their costumers. It's SOO important, it's all I ask for. I don't need anything too fancy, ginormous, decorative, or out of this world to be impressed. Cure gives off that special element that "thing" will keep me coming in and for that they earn a 5/5 in my book. p.s. Also try the "Turkey and Fig" sandwich $8 is a must try. read more

Somewhere between 2 and 3 stars on the Yelp scale actually. I'm definitely glad that there is a local coffeehouse in the Freemason neighborhood and want to give it my support. The atmosphere is right, selections are right and the coffee tasted fine. Biggest complaint was the service. On a not very busy morning, the clerk managed to mess up a very simple order (American with steamed milk). She didn't pull the coffee and the gent who actually served me didn't get the message about the milk. He fixed it readily enough and all was well. I would like to go back and try something off of their menu to see how their kitchen service is. One thumb up for: vibe, location, atmosphere, speed & coffee taste. read more
Three years ago, on vacation, I stopped in for a latte during a walk - an excellent brew. I couldn't remember the name of the place yesterday, but I am happy to say I found it again today. Today I did the house - made iced tea. Excellent - fruity but complex, no need for sweetener. Lunch: roasted red pepper, avacado, chevre, lettuce baguette. So refreshing. Boyfriend had the house specialty - Rueben sandwich, and a side of potato salad. The Rueben was spectacular, based on my one bite. Next time, I'll try the scone with a side of lemon curd. Free wifi. Nice people. I didn't care for the piped in 90's pop. Eve's Vertical Matchbox bands. read more
5 stars because there was nothing to complain about. I went one afternoon with my friend who flew in and wanted to go to a coffee shop. The inside is so cute and minimal. The person at the register was also nice. My friend got the churro and I got the scout. Our drinks were brought to us and they were both really good. Would definitely recommend! read more

This cafe and the neighborhood is a little gem in Norfolk. When I walk down the cobblestone street and head to the cafe I can't help not to feel like I'm taking a little tour in the streets of Europe. The cafe looks so lovely, it has this modern yet bohemian decoration. Cure is such a cozy and casual place for grabbing a coffee and chilling with friends or taking your laptop and doing your work there. The coffees and lattes taste delicious with a nice touch of latte art on them! The parking lot for this cafe is only for certain hours a day and after that you gotta find a parking spot on the street which could be a bit of a hassle sometimes. The major drawbacks I'd say are the low temperature in the cafe (it's pretty chilly even in winter!) and the slow wifi. read more
They are currently redesigning so space is very limited. i ordered the dirty chai tea latte and it was great! the espresso actually worked and at the bottom were crunchy pieces of chai which was different and cool. they have tons of flavors to choose from and the neighborhood is really hipster and fun. cool little coffee shop, one of my favorites in norfolk. def a place i'd check out again. read more

I love everything about this coffee shop. The location is adorable, right on a cobblestone street. I can imagine parking can be a pain at times but I've never personally had an issue with it. It is a smaller place so it can fill it up quickly. I've only had their coffee and tea so I can't speak for the food, but the drinks are fantastic and you can tell that employees know what they're doing. I can't wait to come back and try out more of their menu. read more
Visited a real coffeehouse other than my regular name brand coffee houses of choice. When in Rome isn't that what they say? Lots of drinks available from coffee, tea, lemonade, beer and wine. Can't say your options are limited here. I bet if you visited enough you would be able to try everything they had to offer in a short period of time. Wouldn't that make you feel accomplished? I'm always looking for something to cross off my list. I tried the white hot chocolate latte and a peach lemonade. The latte was hot, I looked hard to find some kind of swirly art that I certainly cannot get at those coffee chains and was disappointed to not see anything. I'm hoping maybe because it was busy and if I went in at a slower time I would be able to see Niagara Falls or the Effiel Tower in my cup. The lemonade was nice and refreshing. You definitely tasted lemonade and peach in the drink. It was a nice combination. Tables for seating and a few outlets for plugging your devices in. I think I recall outside seating. I would like to go back try different drinks, get nice scenery in my cups and maybe nibble on some breakfast goodies. Great little area of Norfolk to grab a cup and enjoy a pleasant walk. read more

A great coffee spot in downtown Norfolk. Had the avocado toast which was great but be warned it has a citrus kick, lots of lemon juice! Also had an iced hazelnut latte and it was pretty good too. The atmosphere and staff are welcoming. A good spot to get so reading done or spill some tea with some friends! read more

Best coffeeshop in town. I would've said this even before their renovations ....which take this place to another level. AMBIANCE Beautiful. Very bright. They have string lights along the window panes, rows of lights on the ceilings and lamps (mainly next to the chairs in the corners). Warm, sping/fall color tones. Great variety of indie genres on the playlist. Occasionally, they have small bands play live on Fri/Sat nights or for open mic night on the occasional Thursday. Post-RENOVATION: A prior con was the limited space and trouble finding seats, but apparently they destroyed the wall (see my pics) and now have TWO extra rooms. One of the rooms is for "Cure Co. Passholders" who pay $10 for day to have the private room, private wi-fi, and free refills on drip coffee/tee. Not a bad deal if I was in med school and knew I'd be spending all day studying here. FOOD I think the food factor is one factor that sets this coffeeshop apart from the others. The brunch menu and the pastrami sandwiches are amazing! Look at my pics and try not to drool :) If you like pastrami, get it with double-meat . The only better pastrami sandwich in town is at The Top Ten. DRINKS Lots of creative signature lattes to choose from a menu on the wall (See my pic). My faves are the Churo and Scout. Standard mochas and Chai lattes are made well, too. Oh, you can also get alcohol/mimosas all day :) SERVICE I've come here for over a year and despite not being the most talkative, the employees have never been rude. They are all pretty relaxed & chill. I never had issues with the wi-fi. Tl;dr : Best coffeeshop in Norfolk. Get double-meat. read more
