So from the beginning of my experience, I was looking for someone to color my hair. My long term stylist has stopped doing coloring due to her thyroid having issues. I have 3c curly hair so I wanted to find someone who specializes in that. I had found Valdeh thru a Google search. I had reached out to book a quick appointment with him to have my hair done for an event we are attending this weekend. When you reach out he sends an assessment. He wants you to fill out all the details send pics and what is the look you're desiring & then gives his recommendations. Now when you ask for pricing he gives only an estimate. My recommendations were going to cost between $395-$795. Mind you, this is because each service performed by him is individually charged. Nothing performed includes another. For example: if you get a color, style is not included. You pay separate fees for each and every service. In my case what I had wanted was color, highlights, style. What had settled on in person was: color, cut, style. When I had come into the store, I had basically a fro. I never like to wear my hair curly for that reason. I never knew how to style it without the frizzy look. I was told that my hair was too damaged from heat to be able to be bleached for highlights & in order to lose the fro look I would need to cut some hair so my hair would have room to move around freely and not be so clumped together in the back. So he begins the service after doing his in person recommendations. I agreed on the services not knowing what was to come. I left his shop with a smaller fro, extremely dry hair, uneven coloring from the roots to my ends, not even the color I had wanted & the worst part, the worst cut I have ever experienced. We also purchased his product recommendations to maintain the hair. (K18 kit, AG recoil, & WOW popgloss) all for $954.02. He had intentionally chose to max out on his estimate of costs. We had ended up donating to his girlfriend's gofund me $200. So total was almost $1200 to walk out feeling worse than I had walked in. While visiting my family I they were in disbelief that we had paid that much for my hair. The very next day I had to get my hair deep conditioned again, straightened, & cut again because he cut my hair so unevenly. Which my hairstylist includes all 3 services into 1 & my fee was $140. When looking at my hair she was also appalled at how dry my hair was when walking in. Her & I have been working the last 7 years on my hair health & growth. She started to see that the areas on my hair that were cut were very uneven & he even gave me a bald spot in some areas. (I have the pictures she had taken for reference of his debulk cutting for those who need to SEE for yourself what he means when he says this. They will be attached below. The first 2 are my hair curly with the bald spots he created by cutting the hair that short & the other 3 are pictures of the cut straightened) when reaching out to him his excuse for cutting that much hair is because the style is to be worn curly and not straight. We had discussed that I will be occasionally wearing my hair straight. I had reached out to him to express my unhappiness and he left me on read. It wasn't until my mom had gotten the boards information & started texting him did he start responding to her. He "covers" his tracks by keeping everything in text messaging. He provides a $25 refund for a charge discrepancy. His only solution is for you to revisit his salon so he can fix it. I can never go back to someone who has damaged my hair for them to do more damage. He's overcharging for his services. The haircut alone was $300. He's not a celebrity stylist. He is being reported to the board and other actions will be taken. If anyone else has had services done by him & had a similar experience, please reach out to the board also with a complaint. I can't believe I fell into Yelp's review trap and came here. I had recently moved to town and needed a haircut but my hair is now years out from ever looking great again! This guy is a major con artist. He spent like 45min just running his fingers through my hair and talking nonstop just to use up time and charge me more. And that he did; his fee was almost 500.00! Listen, I'm from the Bay Area where I rarely have sticker shock but even my specialized haircuts there didn't cost this much. AND they certainly didn't ruin my hair. Months later and I have these horrific "bangs" that are only a couple inches long and will take forever to grow. It was clear what he was doing too.Talk, talk, talk and random cuts all over! I waited a few months to leave a review because I wanted to see what my hair would look like and it's awful! There's no way to even rectify the damage he caused until it grows. The Valdèh haircut gave me a whole new attitude. Usually when I get a haircut, it only looks good on the day of the service, but the Valdèh haircut still looks good after washing it and following his advice. I was apprehensive about spending this kind of money, but I normally shell out at least $100 a haircut and I have to keep going back for it to be maintained. The Valdèh haircut will last me 7-10 months. Talk about a great value. Fabulous curly hair all year round. Also, the Aquage products he recommended are perfect for my hair. The owner of the salon and his girlfriend are friendly, but I would not recommend this salon. I have naturally fine, but very curly hair, and Valdeh cut a huge chunk out of the very front of my hair (see photos). He also cut incredibly uneven layers. Unfortunately, the only way I was able to remedy this haircut was to pay for an emergency appointment at a new salon, and they ended up having to cut over 6 inches off my hair! I was devastated since I have been trying to grow my hair out for my wedding. The cherry on top is that they charged me over $500 for this haircut (this price was not disclosed before). I repeat $500 for a haircut!! No color. No treatment. Just a haircut. He changed me for 3 hours, but he included the 45 minutes I waited for him to finish his previous client. After I blew out my curls and was able to see the extent of the damage, I asked for assistance (they advertise a "7 day warranty"), but I never heard back. I enjoyed my one-on-one experience with Valdéh, the owner and expert at Curl Revolution. My hair was damaged, split, frizzy, and dry when I came in. This was my first haircut in 5 - 6 years and I was not judged at all. He taught me how to use products correctly as he styled my hair. By the end, my frizzy short curls somehow looked longer and fuller. I feel beautiful and confident with my curls and I am very thankful. The only reason this experience isn't 5 stars is the price. I did a lot of research to find a hair stylist specialized in curly hair. As you can see in the pics, my hair is waive soft curls and wanted to stop blow drying it straight. I found Valdeh on google and had excellent reviews. My appointment was 20 min late and I was ok with that. The salon was much smaller than expected and did not look great. Valdeh's profesional appearance was also not as I was expecting for an expensive salon. However, He is very pleasant. As you can see he cut about 3-4 inches of my hair. I told him I was ok with cutting some but didn't expect that much cut off. I am giving him 3 stars because I believe the hair cut and brief time he spent discussing the styling process while he was drying my hair is only worth about $125 -$150 max not $350. first time i visited valdeh, he was very sweet, honest, and had a great consultation with a game plan for my transitioning hair. i booked another follow-up appointment and that's when this service gained 3 stars instead of 5. because of COVID, we were asked to wait in the car until valdeh allows us to come inside. i texted him 5 minutes before my appointment telling him that i was waiting for him in the parking lot. three text messages and one denied phone call later, i told him i was going to just leave after waiting in the car for 45 minutes. i can't say anything about the service itself, but i do know that it was a bit untimely and inconsiderate. his excuse was that he was in deep conversation with another client, but i do feel like that shouldn't have come in the way of my designated time with the stylist. all that aside, he is definitely knowledgeable and wants the best for your hair! read more

Ok so, as a girl with naturally curly/wavy hair from NYC I have to say I feel lucky to finally have found this salon. 1. Valdeh is absolutely fantastic to work with. I say work with because I didn't just sit in my chair and let him do his thing, we collaborated on my hair. Best length and color. He explained my curl pattern (which he said was beautiful and made me love my hair again), he told me what would work and what wouldn't and asked for my input. 2. He cut my hair 3 different ways - dry, then went, then dry again. All this in the name of perfection, trust me this guy is serious about fabulous curls. 3. He books one appointment at a time so every minute is yours, you're not sitting in a chair watching your stylist run from one side of the salon to the next (a major plus and first for me). 4. His partner Liz is a total dream and she's chatty in a really good way. We spoke the entire time about everything, I felt like I was at the salon with a friend! I almost felt like asking for her number but I didn't want to seem creepy but she's cool AF and made my 2.5 hrs there fly by. 5. Valdeh literally gave me a class on how to microfiber dry and style my hair. He showed me everything he did my giving me a hand held mirror so I could watch the process. I give my name and I try to confirm the day before and the guy acts like he has never heard of me. I sent a plethora of pictures of my hair and he did not respond. Poor communication. I love my new curly cut by Valdeh. I've been working on bringing to life my curly/wavy hair for 4 months and I was feeling a little weighed down and needed some layers and length taken off. I messaged him to schedule an appt and I was able to send a picture of my current hair and what I felt needed changing. He had some great ideas and gave me some appt time options, then gave me instructions on how to proceed, texting when arriving and masks always being worn. His method to curly cut was initially a dry cut on my already styled hair, then a full shampoo and condition and then even everything out while wet. Then style and diffuse while giving some tips on how to take care of my new do. He even allowed a 7 day window to come back and get a touch up once I had a chance to style at home and see what might need slightly trimmed. Valdeh cut my hair today. Normally I cringe when it's time to get my haircut because a stylist doesn't pay attention to my requests. Curl Revolution is a different experience, not only did he listen but he cut my hair dry which has never been done before to see how it will fall then did it wet. I appreciate that sooo much. I have long midback, midsize curls and there's nothing worse than cutting it wrong and ending up with more frizz than what you started off with. He took a lot of damaged hair off with his custom curly cut and you couldn't see that there was a drastic change to my length which I love. My curls feel soft, manageable and I love my new layers. My hair history consists mostly of annual highlights, until a few months ago when I attempted to dye it with a box dye, leading to the top half of my hair being light reddish brown, and the bottom being a dark brown. I immediately went to a nearby salon to attempt to have this corrected (back in April) and while they tried, I left the salon with a still far-from-consistent color throughout my hair. Coming to Valdeh's salon with 3-tones of color, wanting it color corrected and cut, I was a little worried. Especially given my past with inexperienced hair stylists (very very few people know how to actually care for curly hair). Thankfully, Valdeh is not one of them. He has a vast amount of experience under his belt, and managed to give back my hair the luster and shine it once had, in a rich dark brown with some medium brown tones mixed throughout, and with the hopes of potential highlighting in the future. It is true, it is pricey, but very worth it in my honest opinion. The cut is the best I've ever received, he cut off my split ends and gave my hair lift by giving me underlying long layers (custom curly cut). Like everyone here has also mentioned, Valdeh is very patient and careful to explain every part of what he is doing, from the color to the cut to the styling. He taught me new techniques to make my hair look & feel amazing that I never would have thought of. Valdeh is a gem! My hair texture has changed and years of bleaching made it very frustrating to wash, detangle, blow dry, flat iron (and still have frizzy/wavy pieces!) to reproduce my former long, straight hair. Valdeh to the rescue! He first showed me how my current cut in the back did not work when trying to embrace my wavy hair (eek! I was walking around with that?). Discussed what I wanted and then he cut my hair once wet, once dry and then fine-tuned with a 3rd trimming. Explained everything he was doing, handing me the hand mirror many times to show me the back of my head. I walked out with a beautiful head of wavy curls that I never could have done on my own. Want to know the BEST part? My curls lasted 6 days. Yes 6. They got a little looser, a little softer- still looked amazing. I put my hair in a pineapple on top of my head with an old school scrunchie at bedtime and barely wet them to revive each morning. Now I just have to keep practicing the technique Valdeh taught me do I get the same mileage styling myself. I have received many curly cuts by stylists around the area, but no one has come close to Valdéh's patience, attention to detail, and overall talent. He has taken the time to obtain the knowledge needed to perfectly style curly hair, and he is just getting started. From talking to him, I can tell he is always challenging himself and will invest time and energy to keep his skills and equipment modern and sharp! He started by giving me a dry cut (similar to a Deva cut which he has acquired training for), then a precision wet cut, and finally cut it again after styling and blowdrying to create a masterpiece. Let's just say not to depend on your Yelp voucher for a discount as advertised. When it was time to pay Valdeh said that the voucher applies only to Jr. staff, making my voucher void, aside from the $38 I paid for it on line. Valdeh claimed that a disclaimer was on his website, but in verifying, the website states that that a "special "$89 valued at $200 applies only to Jr. stylists, not the Master". Nothing about Jr. staff is stated on the Yelp voucher. Aside from that, he did spend a fair amount of time and a good job styling and cutting my wavy hair. read more
