Response in regards to charging for a service never performed

‼‼‼BEWARE OF THIS PERSON! ‼‼‼ Here's an update to Valdeh's response: he is a literal liar. He damaged my hair & the fact he takes no accountability shows how much of a terrible person he is. His response to my honest & respectful review shows his character as a person. I pray that anyone seeing a curly hair specialist goes the other way. He uses the same hair products on all hair types. If you pay attention to the pictures he posts, all hair styles are somewhat similar. He doesn't know how to differentiate styles between clients. He is not a good person. He is a con artist & uses his location in Frisco as a reason to rip people off. _________________________________________________ I want to give my honest review & I hope anyone getting services done by this man really takes time to do research and pays attention to the details of things he says & does. So from the beginning of my experience, I was looking for someone to color my hair. My long term stylist has stopped doing coloring due to her thyroid having issues. I have 3c curly hair so I wanted to find someone who specializes in that. I had found Valdeh thru a Google search. I had reached out to book a quick appointment with him to have my hair done for an event we are attending this weekend. When you reach out he sends an assessment. He wants you to fill out all the details send pics and what is the look you're desiring & then gives his recommendations. Now when you ask for pricing he gives only an estimate. My recommendations were going to cost between $395-$795. Mind you, this is because each service performed by him is individually charged. Nothing performed includes another. For example: if you get a color, style is not included. You pay separate fees for each and every service. In my case what I had wanted was color, highlights, style. What had settled on in person was: color, cut, style. When I had come into the store, I had basically a fro. I never like to wear my hair curly for that reason. I never knew how to style it without the frizzy look. I was told that my hair was too damaged from heat to be able to be bleached for highlights & in order to lose the fro look I would need to cut some hair so my hair would have room to move around freely and not be so clumped together in the back. So he begins the service after doing his in person recommendations. I agreed on the services not knowing what was to come. I left his shop with a smaller fro, extremely dry hair, uneven coloring from the roots to my ends, not even the color I had wanted & the worst part, the worst cut I have ever experienced. We also purchased his product recommendations to maintain the hair. (K18 kit, AG recoil, & WOW popgloss) all for $954.02. He had intentionally chose to max out on his estimate of costs. We had ended up donating to his girlfriend's gofund me $200. So total was almost $1200 to walk out feeling worse than I had walked in. While visiting my family I they were in disbelief that we had paid that much for my hair. The very next day I had to get my hair deep conditioned again, straightened, & cut again because he cut my hair so unevenly. Which my hairstylist includes all 3 services into 1 & my fee was $140. When looking at my hair she was also appalled at how dry my hair was when walking in. Her & I have been working the last 7 years on my hair health & growth. She started to see that the areas on my hair that were cut were very uneven & he even gave me a bald spot in some areas. (I have the pictures she had taken for reference of his debulk cutting for those who need to SEE for yourself what he means when he says this. They will be attached below. The first 2 are my hair curly with the bald spots he created by cutting the hair that short & the other 3 are pictures of the cut straightened) when reaching out to him his excuse for cutting that much hair is because the style is to be worn curly and not straight. We had discussed that I will be occasionally wearing my hair straight. I had reached out to him to express my unhappiness and he left me on read. It wasn't until my mom had gotten the boards information & started texting him did he start responding to her. He "covers" his tracks by keeping everything in text messaging. He provides a $25 refund for a charge discrepancy. His only solution is for you to revisit his salon so he can fix it. I can never go back to someone who has damaged my hair for them to do more damage. He's overcharging for his services. The haircut alone was $300. He's not a celebrity stylist. He is being reported to the board and other actions will be taken. If anyone else has had services done by him & had a similar experience, please reach out to the board also with a complaint. This cannot continue.

I have never had a haircut as expertly done as my haircut by Valdeh. My hair is my signature - big, thick and wavy and it looks better then it ever has, thanks to Valdeh. It is easier to style as he studied how my hair naturally behaves and he cut it to accentuate that, instead of fighting it. He also did my color and I love it - exactly what I wanted. He is a consummate professional.

Valdeh transformed my daughter's hairstyle. She was frustrated dealing with her "difficult" hair. However Valdeh transformed and woke up her curls and she is beyond elated. And this mom is pleased to not have to deal with the hair drama everyday!! Thank you Valdeh - you are a true artist and able to connect with a 15 year old so that she felt comfortable and enjoyed the experience.

The Valdèh haircut gave me a whole new attitude. Usually when I get a haircut, it only looks good on the day of the service, but the Valdèh haircut still looks good after washing it and following his advice. I was apprehensive about spending this kind of money, but I normally shell out at least $100 a haircut and I have to keep going back for it to be maintained. The Valdèh haircut will last me 7-10 months. Talk about a great value. Fabulous curly hair all year round. Also, the Aquage products he recommended are perfect for my hair. I tried using some of my leftover gels and cremes just to test it out and see how it looked, but the Aquage products that Valdèh recommended are my mane squeeze, lol. Check out my before and after pics.

The owner of the salon and his girlfriend are friendly, but I would not recommend this salon. I have naturally fine, but very curly hair, and Valdeh cut a huge chunk out of the very front of my hair (see photos). He also cut incredibly uneven layers. Unfortunately, the only way I was able to remedy this haircut was to pay for an emergency appointment at a new salon, and they ended up having to cut over 6 inches off my hair! I was devastated since I have been trying to grow my hair out for my wedding. The cherry on top is that they charged me over $500 for this haircut (this price was not disclosed before). I repeat $500 for a haircut!! No color. No treatment. Just a haircut. He changed me for 3 hours, but he included the 45 minutes I waited for him to finish his previous client. After I blew out my curls and was able to see the extent of the damage, I asked for assistance (they advertise a "7 day warranty"), but I never heard back. I also asked for a refund, and I have not heard back.

I enjoyed my one-on-one experience with Valdéh, the owner and expert at Curl Revolution. My hair was damaged, split, frizzy, and dry when I came in. This was my first haircut in 5 - 6 years and I was not judged at all. He taught me how to use products correctly as he styled my hair. By the end, my frizzy short curls somehow looked longer and fuller. I feel beautiful and confident with my curls and I am very thankful. The only reason this experience isn't 5 stars is the price. I had an amazing experience and learned a lot to take with me, $225 is a big price for a haircut.

Valdeh is a curly girls dream stylist!! He's a genius with curly hair. The thing that truly sets him apart is that he also makes sure that you understand how to make the most of your curls before you leave. Step by step during the custom curl appointment, he thoroughly explained every detail. I rarely venture out of my area for beauty maintenance services but Valdeh is worth the drive. Finally, I love my curly hair again!!

Valdeh is honestly a curly hair whisperer. He really wants you to appreciate your curls and shows you how you can style your curls by yourself. This is my second time going to Valdeh and this recent time I wanted to donate my hair. I was pretty anxious about this but Valdeh was patient and thoughtful. He can tell I didn't want my hair too short and provided his suggestions, which I agreed with (Curly hair whisperer, haha). I received so many compliments after I got my hair cut and styled by Valdeh. I truly recommend anyone that is looking to revitalize their curls and learn how to style them to go to Valdeh!

$325 for a hair cut is outrageously overpriced. Will NOT be using this salon again. Would give 0 stars if it were available.

I was open to a solid full color if matching my current color wasn't possible and perhaps a trim. When I called for an Anthony mentioned in reviews, I was told he's no longer here but the other ladies are experienced. I booked an appointment and came in over the weekend. I'll admit letting someone new do anything to my hair is nerve wrecking. I ended up spending 3 hours here and paid for a laundry list of services (color, partial highlight, low lights, toner, cut, blow dry). I was shocked when it was time to pay, $350 + tip totaling nearly $400. I haven't had highlights or low lights since high school! Maybe it's a thing here, I'm just not personally into it. I really like to keep things as natural as possible and don't like putting bleach or anything along those lines in my hair. I got home and cried to my best friend trying to explain I had stripes in my hair now and they look orange. My hair is naturally curly and not a lot of people know how to blow dry or flat iron my hair properly. I felt horrible that I was charged for a blow dry because as soon as I got home I immediately got in the shower to wash all of the product out of my hair, that was put in, in an effort to blow dry it. It wasn't sectioned and blow dried or flat ironed and it felt like a mess. It was also trimmed after this, so now that I've blow dried it and flat ironed it out there is a questionable section that appears to need to be trimmed. I typically get a dry cut after a Brazilian blow out so my hair is completely straight for it. I really wanted a Brazilian blow out until I found out that would be $350! I could have flown home to my girl in LA for my roots, and a Brazilian for less than this. Call me crazy but no hair appointment should be over $800. The girl who does my color, cut and Brazilian would loose her marbles if I told her this. All in all this just isn't a style or look I like or would want to pay to keep up. I feel like as soon as I need my roots done, it would be so obvious that I needed more stripes or whatever all of this is called vs just a solid root color. I'd hate to immediately go pay for a solid color to be put over the $400 service I just paid for but at the same time it doesn't feel like me at all. Although subtle enough (which again, why did this cost so much?!?) that most may not notice, I know that I never have this done to my hair. I saw a bunch of clients coming in which is great for them but this salon isn't going to be the one for me as often as my hair grows the price for services is just outrageous compared to what I'm used to paying. I like the solid dark brown sections and I'm completely confused as to how I had all of this excess going on when I specifically booked a root touch up or solid color and trim. Sometimes you feel a bit taken advantage of when things like this happen.

Saying "sorry" multiple times does not fix the fact that your team was inconsiderate and dismissive. I was explicitly told I could either wait AT LEAST 30 MINUTES or reschedule -- which, in other words, means leave. There was no genuine effort to respect the fact that I arrived on time, made a clear effort to be there, and arranged childcare -- which comes at a cost. Let's be honest: would a simple "sorry" from me be enough if I showed up 30 minutes late? Would I be let off the hook if I canceled under 24 hours and just said "there was a miscommunication"? Absolutely not. So why does your business expect different standards when the inconvenience is on your side? Instead of taking ownership and offering a fair solution, your response comes off as defensive, dismissive, and frankly, childish. Saying that "nothing would've been enough for me" is a weak excuse and a clear attempt to deflect responsibility. What would have been enough? A sincere effort to fix the situation, not a passive apology. This whole experience -- and your response -- reflects poor management, a lack of customer care, and a complete failure in how to run a responsible business. INITIAL REVIEW: Unprofessional and Disrespectful Service! This salon charges clients 100% of the service fee if you're late or miss an appointment -- but when they're the ones causing the delay, they offer nothing in return. I had an appointment with Kaylin and arrived on time. At the front desk, I was told she was running over 30 minutes behind. No one contacted me beforehand. When I asked if someone else could take me, they said no one was available. I explained that this delay was costing me both time and money -- I had arranged and paid for a babysitter. Their only response was that there was a "miscommunication." No apology. No compensation. No effort to resolve the issue. I was simply told to either wait or leave. The staff was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. They held no accountability and showed no respect for my time. If the situation were reversed, I would've been charged in full. This one-sided treatment is unacceptable. Be cautious -- this place does not value clients, and they will not take responsibility when they're at fault.
