We made online reservations for 7:15 and arrived on time. There was a long line waiting at check in. The host was very anxious about the line forming. He said it would be a bit before our table was ready and I told him that we would wait at the bar. I checked in twice as the time went to 7:45 then 8:30. We were finally sat at 8:45. The food was ok but nothing special and really at that point we were no longer hungry. The bartender was great. Service mediocre. I was surprised that after waiting one hour and a half to be seated that the would have done something to smooth the situation over. They did nothing of the sort. We love this hotel, but their restaurant... We get to the restaurant and are seated quickly. The three of us are two adults and one 6 year old. No kids menu offered. We sit and wait for maybe 5 minutes for water to come to the table. We are encouraged to go get our own coffee from a coffee station at the bar. We wait another 10 mins and we get to put in our order. At this point we are 15 minutes into our experience and see that they have crayons at the seating station and I wait 5 minutes to see if anyone would get the crayons and hopefully something to draw on. Nothing. So I help myself to crayons and move through the menus looking for the kids menu, which eventually gets an snippy "SIR, what are you doing", "I am looking for kids menus to draw on". She hands them to me and storms off. We now have kids menu in hand and see that the kids waffle comes with strawberries and whipped cream. This is not how the adult version is sold so we let the waiter know that we do not want those things on the waffle. So we wait. This is a good time to mention the rest of our order; Eggs Benedict Flat iron steak with over medium eggs We watch several other tables that came in long after us get their food. We wait another 20 minutes. Our food comes, yay. Waffle fruit and whip on top. BOO Steak and scrambled eggs. Wait didn't I order over medium? BOOO. Oh well. Lets just eat them. ICE COLD. How long has our food been sitting? Anyone else have a problem? Oh Egg's Benedict, YAY. ICE COLD as well. 5 minutes goes by before we can ask someone (and I had ventured out but they were busy with other customers, tried to not bother them, but we do need this fixed). They take the feedback on the food and offer to remake the waffle, and bring over medium eggs and remake the Eggs Benedict. They remake waffle. Yay They bring out hot over medium eggs. Yay And bring back the same Eggs Benedict plate that went into the kitchen. Including the cut bite which alerted us to the food temperature. Parts of it are hot, parts are cold. Yep tossed into the microwave, not remade. Waiter comes back and inquires why are you not eating it. We let him know it was microwaved. He said no we dont do that. Asked how the same pre-cut bite was still on the plate. The restaurant manager comes over. We explain again what happened and they insist again they would never do that, that there are strict rules etc. We explain again that is seems strange that the same bite was cut and left on the plate on the returned meal. She says "we would never do that... There are very strict rules" Yep, but they did... This was a pretty bad experience which took WAY too long to be wrong for everyone in our group. We believe they cut our quality because we prepaid for the meal with a hotel package and they take care of the "paying" guests differently. These meals were, on average $17 each and we always tip on value, not cost. This was a really bad experience. read more

We chose to have Thanksgiving at Currents with our small family. We were seated not in the restaurant, but in a cold, high ceiling conference room. At first it seemed OK, but service was very slow and we spent most of our 2 hours waiting for each of three small quantities of the pre-set holiday dinner. We all were cold, the atmosphere was not pleasant, and the price was too high for the quality and quantity of each course. Had brunch here this morning! I wish I had taken pictures of the different entrees we ordered, because they were great! The corn beef hash was delicious with the poached eggs on top and the horseradish creme. The eggs Benedict had a light hollandsise sauce that tasted freshly made--not he powdered version for sure! And the kids' meals were just as flavorful! Portion size was just right! I so wish we would have come here yesterday for breakfast as well--oh well, I'll look forward to it next time we stop in Bend! read more

I think this place is great by the decor and the ambiance, but yesterday as Father's Day we expected to have a great breakfast and the food was great, but unfortunately in the middle our meal we noticed a spider coming down to our table from the wall behind us, so we had to take care of it in the middle of eating in a probably nice good looking restaurant. I know because of Covid-19 we should be supportive with all businesses, but at the same time they need to take care better of the cleaning in order to prevent anything major due lack of cleanliness rol, another thing that it bothered me was to see a Manager getting very close to our table not keeping distance to explain something about the menu with out wearing a mask, that make sense why some employees were carrying a mask, but not wearing it properly. Last thing I wish there was a little bit more food options than alcohol in their menu. read more

I am staying at this hotel and have eaten here twice. I would recommend the Cesar salad with shrimp and the flat bread pizza. Both hit the spot when I was hungry. Service is pretty good - I would let them know when you are in a rush. read more

We got into Bend pretty late and decided to just head to the hotel restaurant, expecting mediocre food. Boy were we wrong! It was delicious!! I had the lamb, which was a special of the day and it was delicious. The lamb itself was very good, but honestly the rest of the plate was even more outstanding. Happy hour is from 3-6 and the prices are killer, do yourself a favor and try the flatbread pizza. You wont be disappointed. I also have breakfast in the dining room. Trying to be upscale and classy but this place falls way below the standard. Pro's: Location - very nice. Busboy - friendly and super helpful. Salads ok. Con's: Price - ridiculous for overcooked fish (that did not taste fresh) and tough chewy steak. Waitstaff - no clue about wine list. We waited 45 minutes for an apple crisp that seemed microwaved and a few crumbs sprinkled over the top. We had two dogs with us for dinner and currents was more than accommodating. They seated us on the back patio and turned on the overhead heaters and lit the fires in the tabletops. Our waiter had extensive knowledge of the menu and offered excellent insight. We started the meal off with a couple cocktails which were average and nothing special. For appetizer we went with the lamb meatballs. It was served on top of a bed of marinara and topped with a small amount of Gorgonzola on top. It had great flavor and I would recommend them. For entree we both went with the filet mignon. For the price it was a good pick and made for a delicious dinner. Dessert was a creme brûlée. This is the 2nd time we have attempted to eat here. 1st time we stood around for 15 minutes and no one helped us so we left. This time we asked if outdoor bar seating was open nd they said yes. I am surprised by some of the negative reviews but I did only partake of their happy hour which is excellent. I am hoping to be a local in the near future and will make this one of my happy places. Friendly staff, beautiful environment, and great food and drinks. It was an overall great experience. My husband and I shared the French Onion Soup and some Truffle Fries with a couple of beers. First, we.were disappointed because we wanted to sit on the far side of the patio, and the host told us that the three empty tables were reserved. Not that huge of a deal. The drinks were pretty good. My husband ordered the Halibut and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the steak frites with instructions to be cooked to medium rare. My steak was well done. The server asked if I wanted a new one, but we didn't have time to wait. I ended up only eating a few bites because it just wasn't working for me. And, those reserved tables? Nobody ever showed up. Great and extremely friendly service. The drinks are great. 99% of the time I actually order food, it is awful. No matter how many complaints and how often, the kitchen never gets any better. The burgers are always overcooked, the wings or either soggy or dry, today they were dry. For an upscale place that charges what they do for food, it should be so much better. Currents was such an astetically pleasing place. We had made reservations prior to showing up and didn't exactly get our seatings right away due to the amount of people wanting to sit outside and we were one of them! My boyfriend and I were very understandable of the situation and decided the 20 minutes wait was worth it. The staff tried to accommodate our reservations by suggesting we sit inside next to the opened doors leading to the outdoor seating area, but we later decided (after agreeing) that the mood wasn't really there for us. The staff was very helpful and understanding when we told them that we changed our minds and would rather wait. The view was amazing, the drinks were great, the food was some of the BEST foods we've ever had! DEFINITELY GET THE TRUFFLE FRIES!!! Overall this place was 100% worth the wait and the ambiance was top notch as well as the service; we even got complimentary drinks on the house!! The good: The restaurant is very nice looking, the server (Jeremy) was friendly, and the meals we were about to eat "looked" great but we didn't actually get to eat them. (Read below) The very bad: We ordered an "ALMOND Butter, Apple and Banana Sandwich" from the kids menu for our 5 year old daughter. We were excited about this option since our daughter is allergic to peanuts. When the food arrived, my daughter had one taste of the sandwich and her mouth and throat started to burn. That was followed by hives, facial swelling and painful breathing. Turns out they gave us peanut butter instead of the "almond butter" that is clearly listed on the menu. We had to take her immediately to the Emergency Room where we had to spend the next 4 hours getting shots and other medication. The restaurant manager (Jessie) was apologetic but tried to put the blame back on us for not explicitly mentioning her peanut allergy. EXCUSE US for expecting to be served what we actually ordered!!! So here's a tip for any future diners at this restaurant: They might substitute random things without your knowledge so make sure you confirm every single ingredient because their kitchen might cut corners. While that's annoying in itself, these are the kind of lazy mistakes that can kill a person! In short, our vacation was ruined and our daughter had to suffer through the trauma of an ER visit because of the careless kitchen staff. read more

As people who have never written bad reviews, we would absolutely never recommend this place to anyone. The service was terrible- after 3 attempts of asking for a water refill, we did not receive any for 45 about minutes. The staff was inattentive and did not tend to our table at all. We had to flag them down, and even after acknowledgement still did not get any service. They were running at minimum table capacity and still could not spare any time to check in on us or fulfill our basic requests. We normally have a great experience at Currents with friendly and helpful service. Today complete opposite. Our waiter Tony seemed to be having a bad day and took it out on us. Surly, brusque service and had to send my meal back - his fault, as I was clear about my choices, but it was obvious he wasn't listening - or could care less. Had to repeatedly ask for table condiments which he either forgot or chose to ignore us. Will not accept Tony as our waiter IF we return at all. My family and I went to this restaurant dressed in casual vacation clothes, because we were on vacation. When we walked up the hostess she asked "How can I help you?" Not, "table for 3?" Like a normal hostess would ask. We were told the 5 open tables outside overlooking the river were reserved. We were sat inside at a table farthest away from the view of the river. The food is expensive and mediocre at best, it lacked flavor. I got the steak and egg and was quite boring. A pre-seasoned steak from Safeway has more flavor. While we were there for 50 minutes one couple dressed in rich casual attire were sat with a great view of the river. The other 4 tables stayed open. We were denied the good table because of how we were dressed. It was a very demeaning experience, I've never felt so disrespected in my life. read more

We've been going here for almost three year, mainly for drinks and appetizers with friends. Most of the time it's just the two of us at the last minute. The bartenders and waiting staff are friendly, outgoing, professional and quick to serve. This is part of a Hotel, so the check-in for the hotel is right as you enter. Don't be frightened that its part of the hotel, it's a great bar. There are plenty of televisions for us sports fans, plenty of bar seats. Soft comfy chairs by the windows looking out towards the river, and I believe that I've even seen some couches. During the summertime, or with some what warmer weather, there is an outside patio right next to the river. I could sit there for hours, listening to the river, with a Jack and Coke in hand and lose all sense of time. No it's not the Jack, it's the serenity of running water. Regardless, I highly recommend giving the Current's a try. I can't really comment on the dinner's, but we've always been please with the appetizers.
