I got a pedicure last week by Lisa and it was superb. The shop was clean. Lisa was thorough professional and gave me a wonderful massage. I gave this salon the benefit of the doubt continuously - first they uncharged my hair $5 more randomly because she said my hair "is too big" for a simple hair straightening service (even if they always charged me $35) then while getting my eyebrows waxed the woman lisa was too busy talking to me about her family that while working on my eyebrows super fast she yanked off both sides of the end of my eyebrow I questioned her not only did she deny everything she said "no I never did that and even if I did what can I do about it you have to grow it back sorry" this salon is so disappointing and awful I will never go back!!!!!! The worst hair cut I ever got. Inexperienced people in short hair cuts. Not trained well at all. If only I could give zero star.

I walked in to have dip removed and get a manicure (give my nails a break from the dip). The manicurist used a fake nail to flip off my dip manicure (didn't soak) and the lines from the dip were still visible...she then made all of my nails different shapes (some square-ish, some round-ish, a couple were diagonal), all were rough and not smooth. Then she refused to put on a polish color when I asked her and did clear because it "looked better"...huh??? I went home and immediately took it off and re-shaped and cut my nails myself. I've been here two times. I came back because of the convenience. Michelle did a gel set and she was very nice. As far as the actual set, it wasn't anything to rave about. The nail job wasn't the cleanest. Since there was nail polish past my nail bed on the side, I have hang nails and it looks weird. A little more precision would be nice. The price for gel is $30. I came in on a Thursday around 2pm and got seated right away without an appointment. My left hand came out way better than the right. The price for hologram nails was $15 extra which is high considering that I got that down before for no more than $7 for the whole set. Went in to get my hair done by Aileen, simply asked her to redo my hair highlights and the work I had done before, she completely didn't do as I asked. I left the salon with Bold ORANGE highlights and reddish hair. I'm not happy. Had to go to another salon to get my hair fixed. The owner said I could only get Half refund because I didn't go back to them to have them fix it. LOL She cut my hair super short and said she cut off an inch. What a gem of a find! Went here for pedicure ... asked for Michelle (following recommendations from other yelpers) & I think I made a good choice. Pedicure lasted for over 35 mins included- spa cleaning, buffing of feet, cleaning cuticles & a massage session. Michelle was very thorough with her work. Staff here is polite & good with what they do. The salon is nice & spacious; don't be deceived by their outer appearance. The prices are reasonable. $22 for a pedicure + tip. I do not understand how this place has a 4 star rating. I came here because of the yelp rating and how close it is to my house, but I definitely regret it. Went in for a pedicure and manicure, but left before the manicure. There was two other customers in the whole salon and they still took 15min to even come up to my pedicure chair. The lady proceeded to finally sit down in front of me and text on her iPhone for another 5 min before even starting my pedicure. I think they have had the same pedicure chairs for about 20 years, they definitely need updating. The lady was nice but she really hurt when she was doing my cuticles and I left with my big toe swollen and red from it. I also never saw her clean the tools she used (nail clippers, cuticle tools, etc.) before putting them back in the bin. I hope they clean them once customers are finished, but judging by the cleanliness of the entire salon, I doubt it. I left before getting a manicure because I knew I definitely did not want them to do it! My toe nails chipped not even 24 hours after getting them done so I will definitely never be back. This salon is inexpensive and the nail techs are friendly. However, the quality of their work is subpar. I got a gel manicure here and my nail tech was very rough removing my previous gel polish and trimming my cuticles. Additionally, she applied the new gel all the way up my nail and onto my cuticles - so I know in the next few days as my nails grow, the polish will start to peel up at the edges and this manicure won't last longer then 7-10 days. I've been getting gel manicures for years, and the quality of the gel manicure I got here was not up to snuff. read more

I came here based on a friend's recommendation. Long story short, I'm going to go strangle that friend. All I wanted was to get my hair dyed a lighter brown. What I got instead was my whole head bleached to look like Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter. I was very upset, and asked them to redo it. They did, and I still ended up blonde. At this point, I was beyond angry and disappointed, and just told them to dye it back to a dark brown, because even my two year old cousin can't mess that up. Been here for mani-pedi about 4x now and I must say it's my fave nail place the South of SJ.. I've always had Vien (really nice lady) do my nails everytime and I absolutely love her. She's very patient and careful with what she does, I mean it's not rocket science but there's genuine drive to clean and make your nails beautiful ya know.. no bubbles and no mess.. lol she's very nice, friendly, doesn't rush and gives you that extra service (like wax and massage and not what you're thinking). Well everybody in the place have really good attitudes and they have a wide variety of shampoos and hair care stuff for sale that are pretty good deals. And today, I got really good service that I got convinced to get a trim, which btw I haven't had in like 2 years coz of a botched hair cut.. Been paranoid since but I watched Nga (owner I think) and she seemed to be doing a pretty good job.. And so I did.. And voilà.. Pampered lil me! =) Got home, nails perfect. Got a pedicure and eyebrow wax, which were lovely and well done, but somehow they managed to mess up my fingers. They kept pushing for "gel nails", which are supposed to last longer and are more expensive, and I decided to go with it. This review I solely based on the nail service. When I first started going here, Michelle would do an awesome job on my gel nails! They would came out really nice, thin and natural. She has bunch of pretty colored gel to choose from. However after a while I noticed my nails are not as good and they would lift easily, every time she would spend less and less time on me and would rush to finish them and wouldn't pay attention to details, so I stopped going there. read more

Anna (maybe owner?) took so much time buffing, cleaning, and exfoliating my skin, my toes felt so light and soft after she was done! Manicure was alright though, at $16(?) while reasonable, she did make me cringe a few times because she cut the cuticles too close. I didn't bleed or anything, but overall she was better with my toes than fingers. The massage was good - again, no rush here, so it felt extra pampering. I was a little skeptical about this place because of the location, but I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. It was super clean (essential for my OCD tendencies) and the ladies who work there are so pleasant and professional. Michelle is the new owner and she took 2 wonderfully induglent hours to give me a mani/pedi for only $30! Needness to say I tipped well, that price is unreal. Nice massaging chair, thorough callous scrubbing, massage, hot wax... I'm sure if I'd been in a hurry she would have accomodated that, too, but it had been years since I'd had a pedi, and I was there with a friend with the clear goal of relaxing, so she worked that just right. Bonus point for not laughing at my huge feet and happily repainting my toenails when I realized that the first color looked like puree of coleslaw. Minus half a point because the manicure only lasted a couple of days without chipping, *but* I garden and cook a ton and never remember to use gloves so I accept most of the responsibility for that. She chose a hairstyle that fits me perfectly - people have complimented me on the cut, especially the way it layers in the back! For some reason I'm super picky about my hair and if it's not done just right I get super self-conscious about it... And I'm a guy so there isn't too much styling that needs to be done. I started going here cause both my parents and sister highly recommended Anna who've they've been going to for some time. So one day I decided to give it a shot since my regular hair joint was quite trek from my home. Pappillon is actually just across from my complex so it sure makes it a whole lot more convenient to get my hair did. Upon my first visit Anna cut me up in no time flat and styled my "doo" exactly how I wanted it. Best of all it only cost $11 (for men)... Whaaaaaa? Nice!!! Sure beats the $16 + tip I was paying. Talk about affordable... So with a $5 tip I still have enough to grab me a burrito at the Taqueria next-door!!! This place was mediocre at best, which is a bummer since it's right around the corner from my house. The interior is shabby, def not a place for a fun girls day. My boyfriend and I got pedicures and I got a mani as well. The lady cut the crap out of my BF's cuticle and it bled - a lot. She didn't even acknowledge it, let alone apologize. :( The lady doing mine was pretty aggressive with my cuticles too, I was startled quite a few times since it hurt. Toes look cute though now. Fingernails are okay....she didn't ask what shape I wanted so before I knew what was going on she had cut them all square, which I don't like on my hands. To round them out she made them pretty short. The shape came out uneven, and the polish along the top was pretty ragged looking too. $68 later, I won't be going back. read more

Very disappointing.... This place is so inconsistent with their service. First time, haircut was exactly what I wanted, service was decent! Second time, haircut was good, but I was nicked quite a bit. I hadn't even realized until I went to wash off and it stung! Thought maybe next time I'll stick with the gal that first cut my hair. I always want to write reviews but I'm always too lazy to sign up and write it lol. However this place made me motivated in a good way. It's been a while since I could make my way for a pedicure and my toes hurt bad (I have bad ingrown nails) she was able to cure me which most places can't. The paint looks great and she even added a wax thing I never even seen before. She put my feet in bags full of hot scented wax and it really does make your feet smoother.
