My family and I have been a long time customer of this CVS location in Hacienda Heights and have conducted business with them for everyday purposes, household items, and we got all of our family's prescription medication at the Pharmacy. Everything was actually good and we were happy customers, which is until we started to notice that we were getting less than satisfactory and poor customer service at the Pharmacy. We thought we were the only ones noticing this behavior, but as it turns out, there are more customers getting poor service. The last straw was when the Pharmacy lead, Tammy, treated me with so much disregard and disrespect that it made me feel so unwelcome and now discouraged me from further carrying on my prescription transactions with CVS. I have told my family and friends about this and they all concur that she is in fact turning customers away and this will cost CVS and CVS Pharmacy business. CVS is losing money and its customers and it's because of the poor treatment that Tammy is dishing out to its loyal customers. I do not recommend and advise to take your business elsewhere where you will be treated with respect and where your business will be welcome and appreciated. This CVS is the WORST! Yet another terrible experience with the pharmacist with the fake blonde hair. I BELIEVE her name is Tammy. The closest one to my house however it is always a frustrating experience going there to pick up my scripts. Maybe 1-2 people in the Pharmacy are polite. The rest are rude and care nothing for providing any customer service. My doctor's office even said they have had NUMEROUS issues with this location. My husband gets his refills every month and EVERY MONTH he has the SAME ISSUE. They claim the doctor never sent a particular scripts yet they have...We have to go back n forth and call dr or answering service. Each month, the same issue. Never EVER had ANY issue with another pharmacy, it's just when switching to this one location that the issues started and persist. My dr called in my scripts, which I needed very urgently and they I waited over an hour for them to tell me they never got them. I spoke to dr and they faxed multiple times WITH fax confirmation. We went back n forth and NOT ONE person told me they received a fax. The next day, dr faxed everything again. I find out that they DID receive the many faxes but the dr left my bday out so he needed to update that. But why did they ALL LIE and say they never received any fax??? I could've easily called Dr and told him to update that. Instead they lied and I had to wait until late the next day to receive my meds and NOT ONE person apologized. They provide ZERO customer service and really screwed me when I urgently needed my meds. No one cares. I tried to contact CVS regarding but that's a joke. When I get the energy, I'll try and abs speak to a manager. Doubt that will do anything though. I'm sure I'll just get more attitude. I'm finding a new pharmacy when I can. Meanwhile, husband had the same issue yet again today. Over hour and 1/2 there and he has to go back again tomorrow. All's they gave him was attitude and made it seem like HE was at fault. I just left the store a few minutes ago. I ran in to get some medicine and cough drops for my daughter who is sick. It was 9:50, as I am trying to pick some cough drops out I was very rudely told that they're "shutting down"...basically kicking me out in so many words. I usually go to CVS in the whittwood which is open 24 hrs or at least very late, so I was very surprised when the employee approached me especially with such a rude attitude. I immediately took my purchase to the register where the manager rung me up. I explained that I was used to the hours of the other store and he asked if I needed help but wasn't very apologetic. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the employee customer service at this store. As I exited the store it was literally 10:00pm on the dot. If you go there make sure you don't go anywhere close to closing time, they will run you right out of the store. read more

I have ALWAYS had great experiences with the staff both in the pharmacy and behind the front cash registers. However, this last visit made me want to reconsider stepping foot in this CVS again. I had a $5 CVS Rewards credit, a 40% off 1 item coupon, and a 25% off 1 item coupon. At checkout, I asked Wade to only use my 40% coupon and my $5 coupon. When he told me what the total was after the discounts, I told him that it was incorrect. Before I could even finish my sentence, Wade rudely barked, "if you have an issue you need to speak with my manager." I tried explaining to him that I am being charged way too much. He cut me off and this time raised his voice. I decided to just leave it as is, since there was a long line behind me and I didn't want to hold them up. I'm rarley ever the one to complain but something happened at this store that has changed me forever... I live in whittier but grew up in the neighborhood near the store. They are normally friendly and helpful BUT TODAY, all that changed. CVS is one of the few places that sell a specific type of hair gel I use. I'm sort of in a rush and I'm wearing some jeans and hoody. I had my wallet in my hoody pocket while I was looking for the hair gel. Couldn't find it so I picked up and LOOKED AT a few different products that were similar to what I use. I didn't like the alternatives so I put all the items back and grabbed my WALLET from my hoody pocket and placed it in MY BACK POCKET. As I'm walking out, the cashier is helping out someone. While I'm exiting, I hear her say "sir" very calmly. I assumed it was to the customer she was helping so I didn't even acknowledge it. So I continue CALMLY/SLOWLY walking to my car. (wouldn't I be in a hurry if I stole something???) The store manager runs out, takes a photo of my car and yells "Don't worry, the cops will find you" And I'm like "Wait, WHAT!?? FOR WHAT?" And he yells "For Stealing" as he runs back to the store as if he is scared I will bring physical confrontation. I run back inside the store and made it clear "All I have is my wallet and keys!!" Pulled out my wallet and keys and show them. Then they start severely apologizing for the inconvenience. The Store manager was very quick to say "She yelled 'sir' at you and you didn't respond so we had assumed you stole something" as if to make it completley her fault for the sutuation. They could've politely stopped me at the door and interrogated me. I would've been fully cooperative. My issue with this whole thing is, there is a proper way of handling shoplifting and that DEFINITLEY WAS NOT IT! I felt extremely profiled for the first time in a very long time. Also, embarrassed because I'm sure whoever was in the store heard or witnessed the situation. I didn't get a chance to grab the "Store Manager" name but he was a tall Caucasian,low cut hair with blue eyes. The Cashier's name is Chris. I truly hope no one goes through this embarrassment here or anywhere else. Conveniently located next to Blockbuster, I like to grab a bottle of wine, some candy, and make it a Blockbuster next door (which is not a bad idea tonight considering the weather). It's a win, win for me. This location tends to get a lot of business from me. I purchase lots of beauty products, meds, alcohol, candy, and an occasional birthday card. This location has been updated prob a yr ago so it's clean, bright, and they have friendly staff. This location is a pretty good size, not too small, not overwhelmingly big either. So whenever I am looking for something in stock 9/10 times they got it. The pharmacy service is quick and knowledgeable. FYI: There is ALWAYS a black homeless man sitting between the two spots (CVS & Blockbuster entrance).. killing two birds w one stone theory.. Prices are higher than normal, however you do occasionally get the 40% off one item that isn't discounted - this the only time Id step foot in this establishment. Rewards system is antiquated - must keep your receipt to make use of the ExtraBucks. Staff looks like their dying for someone to euthanize them. While the store was very clean and the advertisement signs for deals were posted well. I really wish the staff was more enthusiastic. The lady at the cashier desk (also the manager), seemed to be tired and almost annoyed that she was at work; even stating out loud she had to wake p at 5:30AM to be there at 7AM. While I sympathize with her, her misery didn't need to be vocalized. With out the rewards cards and deals and the dollar/discount aisle for snacks I'm not sure I'd shop here otherwise because the prices has gone up so much for basic hygiene items. read more

Went here for the photo service. Dropped off photos: chose one hour service. Came back one hour later, photos not ready. I am told it will be another TWO HOURS. Two hours later, I call to confirm they are ready. I am on hold for 10 MINUTES and then told they haven't even started them yet. When I asked to speak to the person in charge of actually printing them, and put on hold another 5 minutes, this guy tells me THEY ARE READY. You kidding me? So frustrating. The Hispanic gal with the long blond hair doing refills in the drop off section of the pharmacy has such a bad attitude problem and acts like a total c*nt towards her customers. She walks away from her customers while she is being spoken too. Getting a refill that I need to have every single month is to difficult for her to contact my doctor for. So when I go through the process of trying to get multiple refills for this prescription one day, the next day I end up at the register getting asked by a different pharmacy gal if I need to get a refill because it was my last refill when I was just there the day before trying to get refills on this prescription that I take monthly -_- I'd just rather switch to a different pharmacy since its it's too hard to fill ONE monthly prescription. The Pharmacy staff are borderline incompetent. They consistently make mistakes with my prescriptions and refills. Medication that should be on autofill (and have been for years) are suddenly taken off autofill and one time prescriptions get put on autofill. Every time they make a mistake I talk with one of the pharmacy staff and they assure me that they have corrected the problem, and yet the same problem will reoccur. If my insurance didn't insist on using CVS, I would use Heidi's Pharmacy on Colima and Hacienda instead. The staff at Heidi's Pharmacy are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and competent; the antithesis of CVS Pharmacy. But again, my insurance will only go through CVS. On top of all of this, today the entire CVS closed at 5pm without notice. I called the pharmacy before going to pick up my medication, because, on top of already reduced hours because of the COVID-19 pandemic, now everyone is panicking because of the riot-induced curfew. The woman who answered the phone at CVS Pharmacy said they were closing at six o'clock pm and I needed to be there before six. I got to CVS a few minutes before five o'clock pm and the doors were closed and CVS employees were turning people away. I asked why they were closed as I'd just spoken to someone at the pharmacy and they told me they were closing at six pm. The manager, who said his name was Abel but didn't give his last name, blamed it on a corporate decision and rudely said the the Pharmacy staff had already left. He was very rude and acted very put out that a customer would even dare to ask him questions about a last minute closing. I had to leave without getting my prescription. read more

I like this CVS. Specially, yesterday. My baby has been sick these last couple of days. The Dr. prescribed her some medication, and I went out to pick it up. Even though they didn't take our insurance, the staff was super helpful and nice. The pharmacist wrote down all of my insurance information, and she even guided me to the place where they actually accepted our insurance (Even though it is their competition). Also, I was looking for a thermometer, and the same pharmacist (I forgot her name) explained the difference between all the brands. Overall great vibe from this place! read more

All you parents out there know how horrible it is when your little one is sick. I know for me it makes me so sad and wishing he would just get up and run around, play, be bad, anything but lay there so sick :(... That being said when you have that golden antibiotic prescription freshly written by your pediatrician all you want to do is fill it. I walked into a crowd of prescription fillers and instantly wanted to leave but I can't! I can't take one more sec of my poor boy being sick. The girl at the counter seemed serious at first but as I watched I knew it and she was serious, she was trying to go as fast as she could to take care of all of the customers waiting. When I got to the counter I let her know I didn't have my insurance card. She was quick to locate me in the system and get the meds flowing. Then she hit me with it, picture slow motion voice saying .... It Will Be 45 Minutes..... Ugh!!! I had to wait, no choice. 15 minutes later I hear, in the angels from heaven voice, her call out my name. It was ready! Thanks to the quickness of the staff and the seriousness and pride they take in their work my little one is now sleeping while the antibiotic ninjas are fighting inside!! Here was my experience. I went in there the other day to get some DayQuil and picked up the 20 capsule box that was $13.99. When I went up to pay for it, there was only one cashier working and 12 people in line. Additionally, the cashier looked like he didn't know what the F was going on. I tossed the box on the counter, decided that I didn't want to wait in line for 20 minutes and went down to Von's, picked up the SAME box of 20 DayQuil for $5.99! Saved $7.00 and 20 minutes in line. FIrst of all, let's remember that even though you're a pharmacist and work behind a little wall most of the day dropping pills into little containers , there is a customer relations element to your job! So put on a little smile and try and feign interest in the "patients" when you're giving your consults. Don't act so "put out". Second, when the debit machine asks me "would you like to get alerts via text", there are two options: "YES" and "Print INFO". WTF? Print info essentially means that they're going to bother you with texts anyway, so you need to use the number on the printed sheet to get them to take your number off. Can you believe it? Oh And that's only during their office hours. Really CVS? Anyway, I suppose that's the nature of CVS as a whole. But when I mentioned it to the staff as I was walking out, only ONE of the employees even looked up from their zombie state to say, "sorry sir", as though those two words were somehow going to make it all better. You know they could have just gone into my account and deleted my number? Nope. It appears that if you look away from the customer and don't engage, then eventually they'll go away. Pretty sure that's in the trainer's manual over there. It's brutal how bad it is. But don't take my word for it. Check it out for yourself. Yikes! This Pharmacy is losing my trust. I have two monthly prescriptions that seem to be too difficult to get right about half the time. Today the online system failed to have one of my prescriptions filled. The woman at the front desk sent me to the "Ordering" window so they could get the order right. They just put in a new order, leaving me with the choice of waiting or coming back. Thanks for having me stand in line twice and letting me make two trips. It would have been nice to have an apology but I suppose I expect too much. It looks like it is time to find a Pharmacy that I can trust. UPDATE: OK, I was lazy and didn't move to another Pharmacy but they have been doing a much better job lately. The staff is certainly more pleasant and my prescriptions have been filed on time and correctly. So for the first time, being lazy was rewarded. Went to fill my invalid sister's rx. Her dad usually does in LBC but had a Heart Transplant! So I had to do it in my area and mail it to her. They said they only fill in their local area. Had a very good experience with pharmacy today. First of all Tammy was courteous and knowledgeable, she asked all the questions necessary from me that she knew she would need to process my prescriptions. Tammy explained right off she would need to call doctors office and stated she would follow up on status! She kept me up to date on all issues and gave me more info for future prescriptions I would bring in. She explained all issues that might come up for my type of prescription. She called me to updat on status! She had my main prescription ready quickly, called me and told me I could pick up this evening. Thank you Tammy for the great experience, that shows your professionalism, experience, courteous service and patience. Much needed attributes, especially today. All the staff seemed to work together very well, each had a responsibility, and it is very effective in assisting customers and giving great service.
