Anytime I've been to this location, the traffic is overwhelming. There is only one entrance/exit and its a pain since this strip mall is home to a ridiculous amount of heavily trafficked stores. (Albertsons, Ross, Office Max, Starbucks, Noahs,....) It's honestly ludicrous that there is only one exit, I don't get it. Anyway, I come to this CVS for pharmaceuticals only and its very fast. The pharmacist here is very nice and knowledgeable. The pharmacy is open until 10pm. It saved my life literally. I needed my Tamiflu stat. I'm still waiting for my results to see if I have the H1N1 influenza virus. I should find out tomorrow. Now that CVS offers the extra bucks on their CVS card I am SO A FAN!! My recent late night trip to CVS totaled $42.00. I told the cashier I had some Extra Bucks on my card. One was expired by a day which was a $5 Extra Buck and he honored it! Then another $2 Extra Buck and I guess there were more on my card. My total dropped to $19.25! Ben has it right. NEVER NEVER NEVER go here for PHOTOS. Support your local photo shops. It's so worth it to have someone properly handling things that are important to you!! Reyna, as I will call her (because that is her, I assume, given name), was the last face I will ever see inside a CVS. Why? Because her customer service was the LAST STRAW. I ordered my photos online last night. I receive a confirmation email telling me they'll be ready at 11am. Which is totally awesome cuz I'm sending out picture cards in the mail that'll arrive a day or two after new years. SCORE. or not. Instead, I wasted a morning writing and addressing cards for which I'd have no photos. So, I go in and wait behind a lady purchasing some photos. The line for the regular registers is crazy long and I think to myself how glad I am that I am only picking up 13 photos. So, I step up and Reyna tells me she cannot help me and that I must "go stand in the long line." I politely ask her if they are going to just send me back to her because she is working the photo area. She responds with "I dunno, maybe" and smiles at me condescendingly for asking the question. I think I know the real answer. So, after waiting in the "long line" for 15 minutes, I get summoned over to Reyna (wierd!!) and guess what? She tells me that she already called and told corporate that their online photo machine wasn't working. "Sorrrrry." Hm. I asked her why I entered my phone number in case they needed to contact me.... Maybe, just maybe, this would be the instance in which they would need to contact a customer. She says it's not policy to do so. FAIL. I never posted this, as Christmas got busy... It's the end of May, still haven't step foot inside a CVS. Couldn't PAY me for more of that disaster. read more

I'm not a very big fan of this particular CVS. Granted, the only time that I ever come here is late at night when they're the only open store that has what I need. However, customer service could use a lot of improving. The lines take forever because there's only ever one or two cashiers at the desk. And sometimes, a cashier will leave to do something in the store without telling the customers in line. So you'll see people walk up to the front desk and look around cluelessly...until an employee exasperatedly reminds them that only one cashier is available. I'm sure there are better options out there. CVS's aren't exactly that hard to come by in LA, are they? read more

People who work here are very friendly. The selection is not that great and most of the items are overpriced. You sometimes get discount coupons via email, you can you. But it's my closest drugstore, so it usually does the job. read more

The Indian guy with the glass needs to pay attention to what he is scanning. He charged the same item twice instead of 2 different items??? I need to return the items because they are the incorrect items, I went to another CVS close to home and discovered his no excuse for such a irresponsible mistake. No one has time for this BS during the holiday. I tried calling the store at 4pm and no one is answering the phones. Unbelievable. This CVS is a disaster. You can feel the demons in this store as soon as you walk in. Everyone is uncomfortable. The employees are not helpful or even care to help. The front door guy that's not dressed as a security guard but is acting like one is a complete jerk, I heard how he was talking to some other customer that was having an issue with the self checkout. Instead of helping her, he blamed her for the problem of the self checkout register which takes no cash but that register doesn't have a big red sign that says no cash like the other one so it was a simple mistake any customer would have made unfortunately the jerk employee blamed her as if it was her fault, the operation at this particular store is a disaster, the negative energy at this location is out of control and management needs to step up or step out. Clearly. I understand other things beyond customers knowing might be happening at this place but that's not our fault. The employees at this store need to grow up and deal with it or get another job. I hate I have to go back to this store. Ever. I agree with another reviewer the only helpful person at this location is the older Asian guy. I hope they at least pay him well cause he's an asset to this establishment. Read the reviews, everybody can't be wrong about this place and everyone has the same bad experience with this location. Hire new staff, start over, do something. This CVS and it's employees are going to be really sad when it goes out of business. there's nothing wrong with the pharmacy, other than the wait. i used to come here all the time because my office is on the same block. they once had their Smart Water on sale for a 1$ (or less, i forget). I also get my candy fix by going thru their post-xmas/valentine candy/chocolate for 30 %or 20% the orig price. Lately though, I had never been more disappointed in this branch. My mom had to get her friend those Accu-check compact strips. And as they are so very specific, I called in first to ask if this store had them. Someone over the phone said "blood sugar strips? yeah we have 'em!" it was 12:30am and my moms red eye flight to asia was delayed by a few hours - it was time to head back to LAX. we had 45 mins to get back. I thought since the CVS person ASSURED ME they had it, we did a quick stop only to find they didnt have it. I looked for an attendant i was talking to on the phone and when she realized her mistake simply said "oh. i guess we dont have it" - they didn't even have any sort of generic strips, or any other brand. I almost blew it and yelled at her. If it were a matter of life and death for other people, you don't make up info like that, ESPECIALLY not if it means someone will go out of their way to make the trip out at 12midnight. but as it were, my mom had less than 30 mins to get back to the LAX and we sped outta there like a bat out of hell. I once had this fatty bruise that I needed to get rid of and the pharmacist was awesome and recommended Arnicare ($11 for a tube) and my bruise went away in about a week. Other good thing about this place is that you can sometimes find good deals on hair care products and face washes. CVS offers a "flexible hold style paste" that works well for the messy look and is pretty cheap (a few bucks) for 2 oz. That pretty much sums up why I come here... I gave them 3 stars because they have this cute Asian pharmacist or pharmacist tech (she wasn't the one that recommended the Arnicare but she did ask me what I needed =P) and because I don't go here that often but when I do I'm always pleased with what I get for the amount that I spent (aka bang for buck). Nonetheless, Rite Aid and CVS need to switch off this customer reward "money" and just give discounts... it is kind of annoying that I have to buy something then figure out something else to buy so I can use the reward "money" before I forget or lose it. Great marketing/money making ploy but really annoying for customers. read more

WORST NIGHTMARE EVER. Never going here ever again. I've been coming here since last July when I started seeing my primary care physician. Every single time I call, I'm on hold for OVER AN HOUR. They've lost multiple prescriptions, refuse to give me my medication even though I have preauthorizations from my doctor and insurance. I've even take a letter from my insurance to show them. Today I was on hold on the phone for over an hour and a half. I've had both my primary care and specialist collaborating on what medications I should be on, and they are the ones giving instructions on how to take the medicine. CVS tried to charge me $86 dollars for 15 pills. Ok, first off a pharmacist is telling me what I can and can't take?? NO. I'm listening to my doctors that went through all that work to put themselves through med school, not some b grade person that was not competent enough and became a pharmacist instead. This past phone conversation I had with CVS has made me reach my breaking point. The pharmacist I spoke with hung up on me before I could even ask when my medicine would be ready. Ok, another 30 minute hold time. He said "oh I thought the conversation was over." As a customer service rep that is the main contact between your company and the customer, you have to ask if there is anything else you can help with, not just hang up on them. Second of all, when I asked to speak with the manager, he yelled at me "I AM THE MANAGER." I'm sorry, how can someone be that rude over the phone to a customer. I'm nothing but polite, even when I'm on the phone for hours on hold. Just trying to get my medications filled that were legally prescribed by two doctors through the UCLA Health system, not even some shady prescription happy doctor. Is that too much to ask? I'm never coming to this CVS ever again. Customers, be warned. I'm switching all of my medication to Walgreens. Bottom line, the pharmacy department is rude, completely incompetent, and absolutely don't care about customer service. I hope people start boycotting this location. And to the "manager pharmacist" that was so rude, I feel sorry for him. His life is that bad that he has to make people miserable? Yes, you are the one standing in the way of me and my medication that I need, YOU ARE LIKE A MALL COP ON A POWER TRIP. Get on your segway and ride away. I'm done with this pharmacy. I call in my refill at 3PM. I show up at 7:30PM thinking that 4 and a half hours would be enough time for it to have been filled, but apparently not. I'm told it's "coming up" and will be ready in half an hour. I sit there and wait for 35 minutes before it's ready. There are 5 other people sitting there in the same situation. Finally they call my name, I get my prescription and I see that they typed in my number of refills wrong. Where I should have 11 refills, it now says 0. So now I have to somehow get these idiots to call and talk to my doctor, or I have to go back to the doctor and get a new prescription. It's not worth it to ever go back here again. I'm going to go back to my doctor, get a new prescription, and take it someplace else. It shouldn't take me hours and hours each month to get my prescriptions. read more

I don't know why I keep coming here, other than its literally around the corner from my apartment. The staff there is nice and seems to have great customer service, but they never get any prescriptions right. I tried signing up for the auto-refill, hoping that would help, and it wasn't done for 4 months. I tried signing up for the text reminders, that wasn't done either. They once said my prescription was ready for pickup, and when I got there they had to send me to another pharmacy because the meds they were going to give me had already expired. I'm not sure if they're understaffed or just not very efficient, but there is always such a long line for pick-ups. If there's another CVS or pharmacy by you, go to that one. read more

HORRIBLE PHARMACY EXPERIENCE: I recently got a new doctor, needed to find new pharmacist. I am prescribed a controlled substance, so it's extremely difficult to find. I called 7 pharmacies before this one. They answered quickly, a nice man checked on it for me, and he said "yes, we have it in stock, I love when things work out like this!" I double checked that he had the correct dosage and number of pills, told him he was my favorite person ever, and drove over. I got there, they took my prescription and told me to wait. They called my name 10 minutes later and told me it wasn't in stock. I verified the correct location and said I spoke to someone on the phone. I saw him on the other side of the pharmacy and pointed him out. He didn't even have the decency to come over and apologize for the mistake he made. I just saw him whispering to another technician, "it must have been the one I accidentally told we had in stock". SERIOUSLY? I wasted my entire morning, double ch fled everything with the pharmacist, only to be let down. It is an unprofessional environment and I won't be going back. read more

Young woman working at the pharmacy needs to be fired. She refused to give me my asthma medicine or even call the doctor to authorize a refill. I showed her my RX card and without even looking at it she said she doesn't know what that is. Even though I use this every time I pick up my medicine. She treated me as if I was trying to pull one over on her even though she can clearly see the records that I have asthma and need my medication. I've never heard of anybody abusing asthma medication. I've been going to this CVS for 3 years now. It's true, the lines are always extremely long. But, that's not a good enough reason for me to switch pharmacies. The reason why I'm switching is because they've consistently demonstrated that they give zero fucks about their customers. I've had insurance issues, computer issues, and today is the third time in the last 3 months that I had to deal with a proscription refill problem with only 1 pill left. I mean my mom is older, and is not exactly computer savvy, and they just point to a machine, my mom even asked them to help her. My poor mom had to call me almost in tears to go help her. Took one star off because they're not too good with scripts that need a doctor authorization to refill. Every time my refills run out there's always a problem and something always happens, I'll usually have to do the process twice. Took another star off for the inconsistencies in refills, I've called in t get my script refilled and was told it would be ready in an hour, show up, and they had no recollection of me even calling so I'd have to wait around for them for refill it. Other than that the lines suck here, there's always about 3-4 people ahead of me and seems like I'm there forever just to pick up a refill. read more

After using this CVS for over a year, I've finally had enough of their BS. While it's great that they're literally around the corner from my apartment, I think it's a little bit ridiculous that the same pharmacy tech gives me serious attitude about my prescriptions every single time I bring one in. I have some spine problems and she's seen me in there filling my meds every single month, yet every time my meds are changed, there's some kind of issue. I don't know about you, but I don't really like it when anyone condescendingly asks me what my diagnosis is or why I've been prescribed so many medications. Personally, I don't think it's any of her damn business. I've never had a pharmacist ask about my medical problems before with the exception being inquiries about allergies to medications, but this girl asks me EVERY time they change my medication. Aside from that, she's a total bitch (and her name is Summer). If I wanted a flu shot, I would've gotten it by now, and no amount of lecturing from a woman who isn't my mother is going to get me to get one. ** I made the mistake of dropping by last night ("this is the LAST time") in the hopes that I could have my meds refilled quickly. After waiting 20 minutes, I was told that they're out of my meds. Shocker. read more

Look I am going to stick up big time for the staff of this place...... By far it is the friendliest group of people.... Especially in the pharmacy. Everyone complains about lines long waits etc.... Bottom line if they make a mistake by 1 pill they are fucked. Their job reminds me of Air traffic controllers. Imagine you or your loved one getting the wrong medication. So yeah it takes a long time cause they're getting your meds right and covering their asses. Do their job for a week and Im pretty sure you will stop crying sniveling and leave your self entitled attitude at the door. It's not like they are giving you condoms or make-up. The head pharmacist Zy is the most compassionate man.... He will do anything he can that's legally possible to make things work. EVERYONE who works there (with the exception of The Princess without a country.... Summer) deserves a raise. Lynn, Gene, Una too many to mention you guys rule. Clearly I've been a client there for a few years..... On 2 separate occasions I forgot my wallet.... I don't want anyone to get into trouble but let's just say it was covered. Love the nice big parking lot, but hate the long lines!! Read other reviews saying the same thing. Only 2 cashiers when there are 4 registers available, plus another one at the photo counter. There was already a line when I walked in. While I was getting what I needed, I saw an employee stocking items on the shelves. I got in line and waited and waited and finally that same employee came to help the other two cashiers! I was THIS close to asking him who the manager was and asking why there weren't more people at the registers!! I am usually a very patient person, but not when I have a sprained ankle and want to get off my feet as quickly as possible! read more

I needed a couple of bath scrunchies for my host, as well as some instant coffee, and they had both. One fella even stopped to ask me if I needed any help with the instant coffees. Pharmacy only review: I had a particularly nice experience at this CVS Pharmacy on Venice. I recently had surgery and needed a Rx filled for pain meds. After striking out at two Rite Aids close to my Doc and home, I headed over to this CVS which I frequent... They not only had my medicine in stock, they filled it right away while I waited. The employee that rang me up may be a Pharmacist (male with glasses and not the one that shares the name of my brother of whom I just adore!!), I'm not sure...he apologized for the (short) wait and asked if I had a driver and then offered me water so I could take my medicine. I was fighting back the tears from the pain and he had the compassion to see that. It was so kind and I so much appreciated that. There are other employees, I won't mention names for their privacy that are so friendly and genuine. I wish I didn't read all these horrible reviews since for the past two years I've been coming here it has always been pleasant. They 99.9% of the time have my medication in stock. I'm typically only compelled to write reviews about horrific experiences, but after filling a Rx there today I thought I'd take some time to thank the entire staff for being so wonderful! If you want to get the worst customer service head on over to the Rite-Aid on National near by (next to Von's) and they will never have what you need in stock and might even treat you like a criminal! I will say there are 2 maybe 3 folks there that are decent and kind, but the rest are terrible. Thank you so much... My only ask for the company would be to give this location a foxy remodel. Do it for the staff! UPDATED: I am really going to miss this CVS. Found out a couple weeks ago by a very rude new employee they have a new manager and out of stock of my medication for weeks.
