I typicaly try to avoid CVS but my friend insisted that I go here. I ended up calling the pharmacy and tried to get a price quote for my meds. I was greeted properly and then placed on hold when the man went ot check stock. As I waited...and waited...and waited...I started to lose patience. I waited for over 15 minutes until the guy finally came back to the phone. When someone picked up, there was a long silent pause, and then the phone either dropped or the person hung out. I was pissed! Totally cannot believe (yes I can) that they would leave customers on hold for that long. People who either do that are slow workers or dgaf. But I do know the store policy with answering phones and how busy they are. The staff are treated like slaves............ Anyway, I called back pissed. Luckily I got the pharmacist who then assisted me quickly and apologized. I got a price quote and told him I'd call back. My med was not covered of course. I got a cash price quote and then asked if they could take my AAA for a discount. I was told yes, but their policy is that they don't take any insurances over the phone. That is so f'n gay. Anyway, I ended up calling other places and asking people I know about deals. I knew it. I should have gone to the first place I planned to have gone to (((Costco))). They charged half the price CVS wanted to charge me in cash. I don't know why people support CVS. Everything is overpriced. I'd give this place 1 star but when I was actually helped, I was helped properly. They get one extra star for this review but I still will try to avoid CVS' at all costs. read more

Small CVS but it has mostly everything you would expect. One thing I don't like is that sometimes you have to wait a long time to pay as there's only 1-2 cashiers. This place also seems to have lower prices than Walgreens. read more

CVS bought out Long's Drugstores in Hawaii, but has maintained the excellent service and selection that Long's had. When driving down West Centinela, we stopped at this CVS expecting a similar store. Big mistake. First of all, from what I could see, the selection was good, but only on a par with the smaller Long's stores. However, unlike Long's, there weren't individual lanes for payment. Rather, you had to cue up in a long, slow line (Borders style) and go to one of maybe 3 cashiers standing at this huge counter. As you are waiting for your turn, your eyes are bombarded with candy everywhere you look - not a good situation when you are with tired kids who are looking for instant gratification (fortunately this was not the case for us). When we got to the register, the cashier said nothing to us. My wife handed him two lip balms and a small mouthwash. As he was ringing it up, my wife said "aren't those priced two-for-one, or do we have to have a CVS card?" The dude just looked at her and said "could be" like he couldn't be bothered with such an inane question. He then just swiped her card, and baffled, my wife signed it. He then drops the lip balms and receipt into my wife's hand. She looks puzzled since he doesn't hand her the mouthwash nor does he bag what we just bought. He just looks at her and says "ten cent a bag" and looks away. I grabbed the mouthwash and we walked out. I don't know if I should be giving a review based on one bad experience with one unpleasant cashier, but if this attitude is what the managers there tolerate, we'll be happy to never step foot in this place again. read more

These people are beyond incompetent. I refilled my prescription using the app, it was supposed to be more convenient.....not so much. Followed all the prompts and received the confirmation email stating my asthma medication would be ready in the next few hours, 5pm to be exact. I showed at after work at 8 to be told it still isn't ready. Great! I received what I thought what was my prescription to only find out it was incomplete. So now I'm waiting another 15 min and they're the one with the attitude. It's 8:43 and I'm still waiting. Wth!?! read more

A kind and professional lady standing outside greeted me as I walked inside of this branch. She was signing up patients for the COVID vaccination. Initially I had such a very hard time with the pharmacy here. The wait time is longer than should be allowed. I came in to get two of my prescriptions. The tricky part here is although the pharmacist stated that she ran my insurance and that I was not covered... that information was incorrect. I had to call my insurance carrier and confirm this. I called my insurance carrier and a representative told me that the insurance was not run through the system or she would be able to see it from the computer on her end. The representative from my insurance was nice enough to call CVS pharmacy for me. As we were on the three way call together, this CVS Pharmacy had us both waiting on the phone line for over 30 minutes. This is a really long time. Luckily I was near the location still and decided to walk back in and ask to speak with a manager. To my surprise the nice lady who greeted me the first time around was actually the manager of the store. Beatrice Gonzales. I will remember her name because she was excellent. She went above and beyond to ensure that we got things cleared up. Beatrice stood alongside as another pharmacist ran my insurance through the system. She was able to confirm with me that I was actually covered for one of the two prescriptions. The pharmacist who was working earlier told me that I was not covered and that was not true. Beatrice helped me a lot and I think she is a wonderful manager who holds things together for this store. Had it not been for me calling my insurance carrier to make sure and for Beatrice being willing to help me, I would have wound up not receiving both my prescriptions today. Thank you very much for everything and I would like to leave a 5-Star review for this location. My advice to anyone who has ever been to this location and had a negative experience is to please be patient, double check everything and ask for help! Also make sure to confirm the results with your medical insurance carrier if you've been denied coverage for a prescription because you can not rely on anyone else to care as much as you do! read more

Thank god for the pharmacy team last week. My 89 year old grandfather came to town from the East coast to visit a few days before my family left for a 2 week cruise. When he arrived he realized he forgot his inhaler, which he purchased in bulk for insurance purposes. So we had to have his doctor call in a prescription safe day. The pharmacy was great about filling the order as soon as it came in and even helped make it as cheap as possible with no insurance involved. Five star service to sure. read more

I Think this is the best CVS pharmacy in this area. I have been coming to this pharmacy for years. The staff does not get any better then the staff that are working very hard at this time. The energy and caring of the staff is why I trust them to complete my medication needs. I have created a friendship with all of the employees and I adore them. This CVS has been my parents pharmacy and go to drugstore for many years. Since we lived in the neighborhood I kind of grew up in this store and as a teenager it was my drugstore too. Later I married and moved to Colorado, then moved back to California and settled in Hollywood Hills. Over the years my parents continued to be loyal customers to this CVS. My parents are now seniors and though I don't live in the neighborhood I still go to this CVS to pick up their medicine. I like this CVS a lot. There is always plenty of parking. This store is clean, spacious and rarely crowded. Sometimes there is a small line at the pharmacy counter but it moves fast. Pharmacist Maitri Patel, is wonderful. She goes above and beyond to assist customers. She's very patient and kind. One time my mom's prescription fee was not accurate, she checked my mom's health insurance coverage, corrected it and adjusted it accordingly. Everyone in the pharmacy know my parents by name, they're friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. They have a nice sitting area to wait for your medication too. Overall this CVS is a good drugstore. read more

I had earned rewards $ and tried to redeem them today, unfortunately i wasn't able to do so.... it showed it was printed yesterday (which of course i didn't) after explaining the situation to the associate, the only answer i receive was "i can't do anything about" ... Oh how great!!!! I have been shopping at that CVS for 5 years and now it's time to say goodbye. I stood at the photo desk for approximately 15 minutes while employees ran around me doing other things, not one of them asked if I needed help, had been helped, or even acknowledged me standing there. Normally all the pharmacy employees are really nice but whoever is working today 4/12/18 around 3:30pm, was rude as hell when all I wanted was to ask a simple question, this girl answers the phone with a bad attitude and once she answers my question she just said "Bye" didn't ask if I needed anymore help, and then "okay?" when I didn't say anything back because I was so shocked at her tone. Like how can your phone manners be that bad, I don't care if you're busy or something that doesn't mean you need to be rude to me. read more

The pharmacist (woman of color) has a nasty attitude. Then she tells me they don't take my insurance Blue Cross and the don't have my medication in stock. Walked away but I returned to say I pay for it out of pocket, she yells I said I don't have it here. I told her, I don't like her attitude and walked out. Went to another CVS. Confirmed they do take my insurance and I have to wait a day for the medication but I was fine with that. read more

Looks like all of the previous reviews are for the actual store. My review is for the PHARMACY. I am so glad I finally took the plunge and changed pharmacies. My old pharmacy was RiteAide on Labrea and Rodeo. They are awful. Bad customer service. The lead guy will be standing right at the counter and will not acknowledge you standing there. They will be out of your medication and won't bother to call you and save you the return trip. Argh!! Finally got fed up and switched to CVS which is close to my job. I signed up for the subscription service, so my refills are ready every 30 days. They send me a text when its time to pick them up. The pharmacy techs are always pleasant. Greet you with a smile. If there is a line, they speak to you and tell you they will be right with you. They don't hold meaningless conversations at the counter when they have 10 people in line. Its great! I'm always in and out without a hassle. I'm glad I finally made the move. read more

This pharmacy is absolutely ridiculous. The pharmacist himself cannot be less helpful. Went in for a flu shot already knowing I probably should have gone elsewhere due to repeated problems with their ability to handle insurance and the less than timely manner in which they handled things. After waiting nearly an hour past my scheduled appointment (first apt once the pharmacy opened) I was told our insurance was giving them problems, that I needed to call to get benefit info. We have a ppo that covers everything. I called and not 4 seconds later did I have an agent on the line explaining in simple terms exactly that and for the pharmacy to put in the number that I had provided repeatedly to handle the coverage. This happens to us every single time. I'm tired of giving chances, and the convenience of their location is no longer worth it. I will not be returning here. If I can't trust them to input a simple insurance number I definitely don't trust them with giving my family or I shots or other medical issues. read more

This CVS location is terrible. First they lack cashiers at the counter, there is usually only one person with 5 to 6 people standing in line. They never have things in stock. Also the employees at times don't want to help you. Also be aware of the black guy who runs the photo section he is so lazy and rude. He seems like he doesn't want to be there. read more
