Believe it or not, but there's 3 other gas station in that same intersection. This is a classic example of Hotelling's Law, where competitors cluster in high-traffic,, prime, high-visibility locations. This strategy captures maximum traffic from all directions, as drivers prefer to turn right, and zoning often dictates where commercial services can be placed. La Brea Gas For Thought: Love the gas prices. Only negative is that the gas pumps are kinda close to each other so you'll have to drive a little bit further from the pump to fill up your tank and would be a nice thing to do so other cars in back of you will be able to pump gas also. :) read more

I'm going to update this review and keep it short and to the point. Everything I said before still holds. Best gas prices in the area. It gets pretty crowded now. Service: Ron owns and runs the service area. I've started bringing my car here for service. Better prices than Honda, better customer service, and my car is running well. Ron is good people and easy to work with. He forms relationships with his customers and goes out of his way for us. And he always has my car ready by the time quoted at dropoff. Lost my keys here while pumping gas. I left a few messages. The owner called back very early the next morning and said they didn't find any keys. I went back a few days later to ask inside at the cash register and the cashier searched in a little box of lost items. Guess what? This is the local gas station that I go to on a regular bases when I'm not near Costco lol! They are usually the cheapest in my area and only about 15 to 20 cents higher than Costco anyway. Said we needed a new catalytic converter and quoted five times what I originally paid. I replaced it two years ago. I went to the original place I had it examined again. No issue with the part. Got a third opinion just to be sure. No issue. That means they recalibrated their machine to purposefully give me a false reading or they have faulty testing equipment. Never going here again. Rude cashier refused a $20 bill because it had a corner ripped off of it. You can't deny cash because of a rip on the side. I gave her $60 and went out to the pump and she only put $40 on so I had to go back inside to find her and ask her why she wasn't even going to come out and let me know. I had an AWFUL experience here. first, it was run down looking not clean at all and a lot of the food was expired and molding. I waited 30 minutes for someone to come up and help me because my car was out of gas and I couldn't drive to another gas station. I went to pay with cash and the lady there I think her name is crystal (?) started yelling at me (I mean, like bloody murder SCREAMING) for letting my gas tank run out. first of all, that is none of her business. the monitor on my dash isn't working, but it also could have been a financial issue and it's not okay for her to yell at a customer for running out of gas. that's insane! and then she refused to let me buy gas!!!!?!!!!? so I had to walk to another gas station, fill up a tank, and walk it back over. I never yelled back but I was visibly upset and confused as to why she was refusing service which of course is the business' right to do but still? This review is for the auto repair shop on the premises. I live right down the street and decided to stop by right after I had a horrible experience with a different shop. The other shop drove my car, told me what the problem was (front bearings)and I ordered the part they recommended to fix. Once the work was completed I drove it around the corner. I had the EXACT same problem. I went back and they told me that it was the back that needed work and that they weren't wrong in their original diagnosis that it probably went bad in between the time I brought it to them the first time and received the part. I know I was ripped off and they did not diagnose the problem correctly in the first place. It left a very bad taste in my mouth. That's why I stopped by here, it was close and I wanted to find an honest mechanic if that was possible. Being a woman I feel like we can be taken advantage of if we don't know much about what's really going on with our cars. When I stopped by this place I had the pleasure of meeting Ron. He was very nice and also very honest. I came back here after I began hearing noises. When I explained what it was he told me what he thought it could be, showed me other past customer car issues that were similar with the same car I had and the price break down. He wanted to be sure of what it was and had me come back when he had enough time to drive it for himself. I asked a lot of questions and asked if it could be a few different things. He told me the one thing that needs to be fixed. He could have easily added work that didn't need to be done but he was honest. I stopped by here the other day because I was in dire need of gas. This place seemed pretty legit, and it was conveniently the closest gas station to me. As I pulled up, I noticed how clean this gas station was. The place was not too crowded either, and the place looked to provide a quick and comfortable experience. I swiped my card, and it was declined. So I went to the attendant, and I was told that they don't accept American Express. This is a bummer, as my gas credit card is an AE card. I left to use another gas station. In spite of this, I will give credit where it's due. The gas station looks like it is well run, and the attendants here are pretty nice. Review applies to the Auto shop: I've lived in this area for about a year and now that Nissan dealerships are closing left and right I decided to do some research and find a place nearby that can be my new go to for an oil change. Found this place on yelp, called and spoke with Ron (the owner) and because he sounded very genuine, professional and the prices are affordable - I scheduled an appt for the next day in the early morning. I arrived on time and he saw me and my car right away. The location doesn't have a designated waiting area and only has one chair so just be prepared to find an alternative place to wait (there are places to walk to and shop at in the area). They didn't take long at all and it turns out I had a leak in my back tire that he fixed but didn't end up charging me for. They cleaned the windows and presented my car to me in great condition (2013 Nissan Altima). As I drove off I could tell it was driving better, I took it up to Big Bear the next day and the drive up and down the mountain was smooth. I think I've found my go to place for auto services.
