I usually shop at cvs for my essentials things . Today I went to buy a few things I was missing at home and I understand with this whole pandemic going on face mask are needed . I went in real quick to grab a few things and have forgotten mines in the car I figured it wasn't that big of a deal . Soon as me and my friend went a grabbed a few things an employee by the name of juan followed me and my friend around and started harassing us about getting a face mask or we had to get out . I told him it wasn't a problem I would buy one in the front but the way he was talking to me and my friend was very disrespectful . I feel like you should treat people with respect how you want to be treated . This man spoke to us in a time that made me and my friend very uncomfortable . I told him to please speak to us with respect because we are humans just like him . The way he spoke to us my friend didn't take it well at all and I politely asked him to leave the store and he did . Now he continued to speak to me in a disrespectful matter and I just ignored him went to the front bought my mask and continued to buy what I needed . He still followed me around the store like if I was a theft and I never In my life have I ever . I then went up to him and told him if he wants people to treat him with respect he should speak to others with respect . He then tried to pull the race card and said because I was black that I'm acting the way I was and I told him I'm Hispanic! How are you trying to pull the race card on me not knowing my ethnicity . I honestly disliked the way he treated me and my friend and honestly will never go back to that location for that . Forgot to mention there was atleast 2 other customers in the store with no face mask !! A elderly woman and a older white man . Again not trying to pull the race card like he did but why am I and my friend the only two being harassed when there's two other people without it ?! It made me feel very bad. read more

I am a BIG CVS consumer. This is my least favorite location. They are always out of stuff and the staff is no where to be found. It feels dirty and ghettoish . I went there yesterday and they were out of stock on 3 of the 6 items I went in for. All the self service checkouts were out of order, the line was long, and they cashier made numerous mistakes. The location down the road on Verdugo and Hollywood Way is a hundred times better - they are clean and well stocked. read more

Ok I found out the pharmacist's name is Tamara. She is the best. Constantly looking out for her customers. She is always patient and very helpful. Thank you Tamara I went here after work today dressed up in my vest and tie and untucked shirt looking exhausted. The second I walked in a very sweet employee carrying what looked like some products to be shelved saw my confused face and immediately stopped what she was doing to assist me . She helped me find a Britta filter quickly and kindly. I wish I caught her name as she deserves a raise. Her aggressively proactive customer service was very impressive. Not five seconds later the manager (I think) named Ronald came and helped me as well. I was blown away by how caring and welcoming and helpful they were. I come here all the time for my prescriptions, random needs, etc. and I'm always met with warm smiles. Lastly, I have to give a big shout out to the pharmacy. A lot of them know me by my face though not my yelp account. They are always kind fast and patient. I have waited in line and watched them deal with some rather unkind and impatient people and they always act professional and courteous. They may not be the biggest pharmacy in town but I will always go to them first because they treat me with respect and do their jobs extremely well. Whoever's in charge of this place should take a really close look at the employees because they are setting the bar for service and that deserves acknowledgement. read more

I've been using this CVS Pharmacy location since they opened a few years ago. I'll probably still go there to shop, but I'll be filling my prescriptions elsewhere from now on. The pharmacy staff have given incomplete information on my last two visits, resulting in a lot of unnecessary inconvenience. First instance: I brought my mom in for the pneumonia and shingles vaccines. They had the pneumonia vaccine in stock but not shingles. They didn't tell me until AFTER they gave her the pneumonia vaccine that she'd have to wait 4 WEEKS to get the shingles vaccine if it wasn't done the same day! We called all over town and in the end drove over an hour round trip to find a pharmacy that could do the shingles vaccine that day. Second instance: Today my doctor submitted two prescriptions to this pharmacy. I got a text alert that one of them was out of stock, so I called. The pharmacy associate who answered the phone said they would place the order "for tomorrow." Only when I asked for clarification ("So I can pick it up tomorrow or you're ordering it tomorrow?") did she tell me that the medication was on back order and she didn't know whe it would come in. She didn't offer any other assistance except to say, when I expressed concern about this because it's a medication I urgently need, that I could try calling another CVS location. When I called a second CVS location, I got the same answer. In desperation, I called my nearest Walgreens. Yes, the medication IS on backorder from the manufacturer and they don't have it either... BUT they offered to check if they had the generic equivalent in stock and even called CVS to transfer my prescription. Now that's customer service. Bye, CVS! read more

What a nightmare. I went to the Dr on 11/14/17. They electronically sent over 4 prescriptions instantly. CVS texted me they were ready not long after. When my husband arrived at CVS 2 were ready. They said with the other 2 they had problem with my insurance and would call when they'd gotten approval. I called for 3 days and each time waited on hold min. 15 minutes. On day 3 they finally said they were ready. My husband came home with 1 that had been prescribed by the Dr., but also with another medication my Dr. did NOT prescribe. So I was missing an inhaler but had a nasal spray I'd never heard of - AND also the nasal spray that my Dr. HAD prescribed. I called Brian, again, and he said that the nasal spray medication the insurance wouldn't approve so the Dr. called in an alternate. I said but now I have TWO nasal sprays and no inhaler? he said they never got the prescription from the Dr for an inhaler and he had no idea why i had two nasal sprays and I could return one. What??? I said why did you fill the original prescription AND the alternate? He had NO idea. The Dr.s office said they sent the inhaler prescription with the other 3 and CVS had confirmed it was received, but the Dr. would resend. I called CVS AGAIN, waited on hold for another 20 minutes (this is DAY THREE OF THIS and I've been coughing up a lung for THREE DAYS waiting) - and Brian says they never got the first prescription for the inhaler (but they got the other 3?) but Now he got it. I go to pick it up. I ask Brian "How could you get 3 of the 4 prescriptions?" He has no idea. I say, "does this happen here often?" He says, it can and that they were rebooting computers on Sunday and Monday so maybe that was it. He's very nice and really tries, but was also confused. I asked to see the pharmacist to ask her why I was given two nasal sprays and how they are different so I know which one to take. I don't want to take TWO drugs for the SAME THING! I hold up the TWO NASAL sprays and I ask Jasmine, "How are these two nasal sprays different?" and she stands there with a dumb look on her face for ever and then holds up the inhaler in HER hand and says, "This one is an inhaler." I said, I know that, then explained what happened AGAIN and I asked AGAIN "I have two nasal sprays now...how are they different?" And she once again stands there stupefied and then says, "do you want to fill out a report." I said, No, let me just pay and get out of here. And she said, "Ok, hun." Jasmine is dumb as a box of rocks and could not care less! She has NO knowledge of any drug other than counting how many go in the bottle. My husband also had tried to talk to her and ask the same questions when he picked up the two nasal sprays and she blankly looked at the packaging and read to him what it says on each package "take two twice a day" and then went and read to him the other directions - like we can't read. So she told him to just have me take both twice a day. I have double medication for one symptom and what if I took both?! They should not have given me both AND the inhaler but they did and two people asked about it and she was too dumb to even understand the question! AND i am 99.9% sure that all FOUR prescriptions were all there at the same time THREE days ago. I called my Dr. and she is on vacation now but her nurse was very confused as to why they gave me 5 prescriptions when the Dr. sent over 4. (the nurse was NO help on which one I am supposed to take though - I'll have to trust google). I used to go to the CVS closer to my house but switched hoping this one was better. They are both HORRIBLE. I think they don't pay well and so hire bottom of the barrel. That's fine EXCEPT for the pharmacist. I read the possible side effects on both nasal sprays and they are extreme including heart failure from tachycardia - i highly suspect if I used both I could be in trouble. One seems to be a steroid and one a belladonna derivative it says. I can't explain enough how terrible Jasmine is and their ability to operate their computer. Jasmine should not be in charge of dispensing drugs! read more

This is the worst CVS I have ever been to. I actually work for CVS and came to Hollywood for a vacation. Yesterday we got into town after a long trip and really had to use the restrooms and buy a few things that we forgot. We stopped here and asked to use the bathrooms. LORETTA was extremely rude to us. She said "No we don't have public restrooms." I asked "I really need to go and I'm on vacation here.... I'm a store manager in the Bay Area can I please use it." She asked to see my employee card (which I didn't have bc I didn't bring my keys with me on vacation) I did have my business card which she declined to look at. She walked us to the restrooms and kept saying "we only have restrooms for employees." Aren't I an employee?? She opened the men's for my boyfriend and I was helping him push the door open and she snapped at me saying "that's the men's room yours is here." My boyfriend is handicap and I was just trying to help him out. Then before she let me in the women's she told me yet again it's only for employees. Then demanded to see my business card. I had no problem with that and handed it to her and she didn't even look at it but stuffed it in her pocket. I looked at her and told her to give it back to me. That I'm not giving her one of my recruiting cards so I can use the restroom. She gave it back to me and I went to the bathroom. While I was in the restroom I could hear her mumbling about me. When I came out I decided not to spend my money here and just buy some gum so I can get the receipt with the store number for this review. There was one cashier with 4 people in line. The lady at the front of the line had to redo her transaction 4 times before it went through. LORETTA came up as the line started to move and I avoided her completely. Being lectured by another team member made me feel horrible. If I felt upset and bad about this I can only imagine how she treats customers. This store does not represent the values in customer service that other stores hold high. read more

Worst and most unprofessional pharmacy ever. came here again today to drop off prescription, only to be told that my DOB is being rejected by my insurance. couldn't get my drug refilled. i came home to call insurance and of course was told by my insurance that my DOB is correct in the system. of course it is, i've taken this med for years and picked up at this location countless times. after being bounced around like a ping pong ball. i asked my insurance to call the store. turned out that technician vivian input the "person code" wrong. but this wasn't the end. after being told by my insurance that my drug was being filled as we spoke. i quickly went back to store. when i got there, technician GOHAR who stood right across the hall at a distance "what kind of drug is it?" i showed her the prescription at the counter and asked her to take a look at it to confirm herself. she kept asking "just tell me what kind of drug is it!!?". like i wanted to broadcast to the entire world that i am taking the said drug for my condition!!!! No respect whatsoever, and no respect for privacy, unprofessional, lack of common sense. i will be taking my prescription elsewhere from now on. read more

EVERY.SINGLE.TIME a doctor sends them a prescription electronically, I know better than to just show up and have it be there, so I call in advance and they always say "ohh....we don't have it." Huge shocker. And then I have to call my Dr's office, and re-call CVS Pharamacy16 times each and teach them how to communicate. I love doing other people's jobs. read more

**This review is only regarding the pharmcy** This is the closest CVS to my house and I always come here to grab alcohol or other various things but I have never gone to the pharmacy until today. I can not stress what all the other reviews states-AVIOD THIS PHARMACY AT ALL COSTS. They have no clue what they're doing, they told me that my doctor who I get my prescriptions from every month was not authorized to write prescriptions. I told them you can see all the prior months of prescriptions filled with the same doctor, same prescription and I have not had ANY problems at any other CVS. This is all after having to wait 30 mins before they even told me this problem. My insurance gives me extra discounts on CVS pharmacies but I would much rather pay more to go to Walgreens than deal with these idiots. So I preceded to go to Walgreens, had absolutely no problem and my prescription was filled in under 30 mins on top of the pharmacy being insanely busy. read more

I wish I could give them negative stars. If this CVS wasn't around the corner from where I live, I would never go there. Unfortunately, I have most of my prescriptions at this place and it's too convenient. The store itself is fine other than never having enough people working the cash registers. It is the pharmacy that is really horrible. I once sat on hold with the pharmacy so long that I took a shower, walked to the store and stood in line and they still had not come back to the phone. It was over 40 minutes. Also, they usually have to order my medication and it never arrives when they say it will be in. I used to take a very highly regulated drug that I had to pick up within seven days of ordering. As usual, my medication didn't arrive when I was told it would and they said they would call me the next day, when it should be in. Of course they didn't call me and when I tried to pick it up I had exceeded the seven days. They told me it was because I didn't complete the blood work I was required to complete, not because they didn't get my medication on time or call me as promised. By the way, I had completed my blood work. The pharmacy is just terrible and the personnel could really care less about their customers. Do what I didn't do and don't start getting prescriptions filled here! read more

The pharmacy is understaffed and overwhelmed. If not for my prescription coverage that requires me to use CVS I would never use this pharmacy or any CVS the service is terrible across the board at every CVS I've gone to. Every time I call this pharmacy I am put on hold for a long period of time, if you can even get someone to answer. Last encounter I had, someone answered, I had a simple question about a prescription, she took my date of birth and said hold on a moment. 15 minutes later I'm on hold so I just hung up. read more

I wish I go give negative stars. Was excited when they opened, but the pharmacy is a MESS. So many problems I cannot list them. I am a diabetic and they've had a problem refilling my insulin for over a week. No one seems to work more than a 4 hour shift randomly scheduled, so I have to START OVER every day I go in, sorta like GROUNDHOG DAY. And while I respect there are a lot of Spanish speakers in North Hollywood, CVS staff who speak fluent Spanish and know a few English words are NOT bilingual. read more

I love this CVS pharmacy! I have been through many-a-CVS in the valley and was often met with long lines and frustrated employees. This CVS is different, it feels more small-town than usual, the lines at the pharmacy have always been quick, and their staff is lovely. I just got a courtesy call from them because one of my prescriptions now comes in 3-month supply and they were checking to see if I'd prefer to do it that way. Thank you CVS! I feel like in this day and age, that's nearly unheard of that a pharmacy would care enough to call and notify you of such a small change, but it helps me SO much to have that information! The people at the pharmacy here are nice. Very nice. But they also seem to be the biggest bunch of morons ever assembled. My doctor calls me in a script once a month. When she leaves a message, nothing ever happens. Then she calls back and works through the rigamarole to get an actual person. She speaks to a live person and even THEN no prescription is filled. EVERY. FREAKING. MONTH. For your own sanity and your time and your doctor's time and so that no bald eagles ever cry again, DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY. I feel like the bad reviewers have visited an entirely different pharmacy, or they were just having a bad day, which does happen. However, I have been going to this pharmacy for over a year now for my own prescription and my dog's prescription. I am always treated very well and all the pharmacists are super courteous. I have to give 5 stars to Brian who is amazing with remembering my information (as well as my dog's information!). He even knows who I am when I call in. This surpasses most customer service I receive at 90% of stores. So thank you Brian and thanks to the other pharmacists that always give me a good experience. You should be rewarded. read more

Just wanted to point out a pharmacist at your North Hollywood location at 4744 Lankersheim. I do not know if this is a full time or relief pharmacist I know she works on Sundays. Her name is Jasmine. Having worked retail for over 20 years at Thrifty Drug I have interacted with a number of pharmacists, she is the very best I have dealt with. No matter how busy she is,(which is most times) she always looks up and greets customers by name or acknoweldge them with a smile. She is eager to explain any medications or answer any questions asked of her. I can not comment on the rest of the staff because I always make sure I visit the store on Sundays just to deal with her. read more

Not one hitch and all with a friendly, hospitable attitude and smiles. They're idiots here. The pharmacy checked with my insurance and said my prescription for Zostavax isn't covered on my insurance, when in fact it was. My insurance negotiated a lesser price for the shot I found out. My insurance aped me that amount and told me to get the balance from the Pharmacy.....The woman who is the pharmacist should be fired. When I told her that my insurance told me to have the pharmacy reimburse me she said she couldn't it was a cash transaction. WTF, excuse me.....I plan on contacting my insurance company again and maybe the evening news...CVS should be exposed for the sisters they are. If it was possible I would give them NO stars.....Don't waste your time or money with this place. They're IDIOTS, and way more expensive then any other pharmacy I have been to. This is by far the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. This is specifically for the pharmacy section and not other parts of the store. I live near by so I used this pharmacy for convenience but every time my doctor calls or emails a prescription over they never seem to have it. This has happened at least 5 times. I wish I was joking. Finally, switching to a different pharmacy because this pharmacy is anything but convenient and good luck getting your medicine if you need it right away. I've even had times when I had talked to someone on the telephone and they said they would have it ready in a couple of hours and then they didn't have it ready. It's unbelievable! It's like being in a middle of a sitcom wondering what is going to be the problem this time trying to get my medicine. I've also talked to other people in line who experienced the same thing including waiting 3 days for their medicine and still not having it filled. The only way they might do it right away is if you physically drop off the prescription but if your doctor calls or anything like that it will NEVER be filled and they will say they don't have it. I know what your thinking maybe it is the doctor. Nope! I had it happen with prescriptions from different doctors as well. Just be warned if you use them as a pharmacy, they are by far the worst! read more

I wish I could still use this pharmacy, its in the neighborhood and on paper its really convenient. Great coupons for buying over the counter items, toiletries, etc. in the store. But a few years ago there was a change and now the pharmacy dept. is a joke and the staff is basically incompetent. They don't stock some of the most common prescription medications, they have to order them and your prescription is never ready on time. I long ago switched to Walgreens at Vineland and Magnolia. 2 weeks ago my doctor's office automatically sent a prescription to CVS by mistake, its on my SAG AFTRA insurance approved list. The pharmacist intern at the counter told me I'd have to pay a 350.00 deductible and pay retail price for the scrip. (There's no deductible on my policy, LOL.) So I went to Walgreens, they quickly filled the scrip for three dollars and change. And now I just read that CVS pharmacies are shorting people's prescriptions. Avoid this pharmacy. read more
