The pharmacy at this CVS is THE WORST. One of the pharmacists there, a male, is just super unprofessional - in person AND on the phone. They weren't helpful at all when I was trying to pick up prenatal vitamins (not drugs) and even gave my dr's office a hard time. Not to mention I went to pick up another prescription and it took FOREVER. You would think living in an area like Playa Vista, you'd at least get some kind of good customer service at a NEW CVS. read more

This cvs store is awesome! Quick, friendly, always stocked and clean. They really greet all customers that come in and offer to assist them, that shows that they really care about the customer. The pharmacy part of the store seems to be improving. This place is much more convenient than other local drug stores in the neighbouring community. read more

I only provided 1 star because i had no other choice but this store does not deserve any! the pharmacy staff is ridiculously RUDE specially a girl name JESSICA! i work for a Dr's Office i called to get a prescription for one of our patients that was really sick and needed her medication and JESSICA was not helping her or me, She was very RUDE and it came to her telling me she did not have time for me and hang up my call, All i needed was help to get our patient their prescription!!! i right away contacted store Manager that i explained to how RUDE Jessica was and he seemed not to care either and hang up my call as well! i really don't understand all the poor ratings. i live in playa vista and go there frequently for random items and to pick up prescriptions. everyone who works there is really nice and i've never had a problem with the pharmacy. sometimes there's a wait to check out, but nothing insane. again, not sure what people are expecting from a drug store in a busy area. this store has a wide selection, is clean, and a convenient location. more people swearing never to come back = less crowded store for me :) read more

I live in the Playa Vista community and visit this CVS for random household items and prescriptions. I finally have to express my disappointment with the store staff and pharmacy. Given the area, you would think you would have better customer service and nicer workers. There's this fat middle eastern guy named Yessir that manages the store and every time I go in there he's either rude or whispering snarky remarks to some tall chick Grace...who always looks busy doing not much of anything. Then there's that Pharmacy...don't go in there if you need pain meds (I've got a chronic bad back) - they never have it in stock and have to order it..what's up with that...always never in stock. I wish Whole Foods would open a pharmacy because I'm now going there for all household items and I just need my meds. This place sucks and something must have happened because it's closed temporarily - karma! read more

I visit this CVS frequently and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Today however, the staff member at the pharmacy was neither helpful or friendly. I was picking up a prescription for my daughter and what should have been a five minute pickup turned into a 30 minute waste of my time. My daughter called 10 minutes prior and informed this very specific staff member that I would be picking up in her stead. He pretended not to know, he was rude, and almost derogatory as he kept asking me the same questions over and over. He stood watching as I struggled to sign for the medication on the their pay screen until ANOTHER staff member approached me and helped. I was surprised at his poor customer service as everyone else here is always so quick to serve and to help. Extremely disappointed about today's experience and will probably find a new place to pick up our prescriptions. read more

Literally the worst CVS Pharmacy this place is always empty however you will wait in line long periods of time and be put on hold for 30 minutes plus. They do not know what they are doing, have made a mistake each time I tried filling a prescription here, and even worse are extremely rude and seem to be very unhappy! If there was 0 stars I would have picked it. Jay at the pharmacy definitely was having a bad day. I handed him the paper print out that showed that my prescription was sent there by my doctor. He walked to the terminal and said nope - we didn't receive it. Call your doctor. I did and the doctors office said they sent it, ask them to check electronically, they did and it was sent. At that point I said why don't you talk to the pharmacist. Jay, hearing that he needs to talk to the Dr's office to help a customer got upset - he is a grumpy young man who doesn't care about a sick person. Jay made a face and dragged his feet to talk to the doctors office to help a customer. He took his time and we all waited for him. On the phone he said "nope, it is not in our system". When the Dr's office insisted he said "oh, hold on. I think we just received it" seriously?! Then he got me on the side and literally took about 25 minutes to get my info on the computer - btw I am a long time CVS customer, my record is in there for years. First he said I didn't have an account with CVS - wrong, then nope you didn't make a purchase for 2 years - wrong, then my name is spelled incorrectly - wrong so on and so forth. Because of Jay what CVS got was unhappy customers, lost time of employees, other employees doing what Jay is supposed to do, lost time from doctors office etc etc. I believe bad apples are given the opportunity to be bad. Hope the management of this CVS location takes action. Otherwise they are the worst CVS location I have been to across the country. read more

Store closed due to a water leak - in one area - so they close the whole store and I can't get my prescription!

I went into CVS today,and decided it was time for an updated review (I always hope that a bad review can get turned around)... When they first opened in Playa Vista, the store did not appear to run very smooth and with much confusion on the policies and handling of returns. (I was really disappointed, since this was a brand new shopping area, in Playa Vista, I knew it would work out well for me to go full-circle with my shopping needs, along with Whole Foods(conveniently, across from each other). In the last 3-4 months, I'm seeing a big shift in the "temperament" of the store. Now, You can not walk into the store without being greeted with a friendly "Hello" from the register. When I walk around, I notice every one seems to have their department, and they, now, often ask me if I need help. The last couple times I've been there, I've noticed that they really are expanding there Make-Up and Bath Products with some really great things that I was surprised to find in a CVS. Admittedly, I watch my fair share of YouTube make-up tutorials, and always have a list of what I would want to try. On two separate occasions, I've been helped by an employee, who said the make-up department was "her" department, when she asked if I needed help...I, autopilot answered "no", but when I'd look at something, she said something about that specific product or about it being on-sale. It end up, we talked for quite a bit. She was very knowledgeable about the stock and differences between like items from different brands. I told her how I really want to try varies make-up items I had seen on a tutorial. She was very insistent that I should try the make-up on my list and return whatever I didn't like. So, I did.... I bought all the make-up needed to copy the tutorial. And, as i expected, some of the products did not work out for me. I saved the receipt, and went back into the store, with open packages, smudges and all....and they smiled, proceeded my refund, and with a smile, handed me my cash and said, "Have a good one....Oh, and do up you need parking Validation?!" (I had forgot all about the validation, so I was very thankful that they looked out for me). (I give them four-stars, because, there seems to always be a long line and very long wait, for the pharmacy. On the last two occasions I tried to fill my prescriptions, they didn't have either of the item in stock, and needed to order them. I found the CVS pharmacy in Marina Del Rey carries stock of these same prescriptions, so I just go here for my pharmacy needs). read more

Seriously incompetent folks here. I was trying to place an order for local delivery (to Loyola Marymount University) and was having problems. I called the store, where a woman told me sure they deliver to LMU -- it's next door. She told me I needed to call 1-800-CVS, where a customer service rep helped me prepare an order -- for delivery in 2 to 3 days. NO, I said, I need something delivered today. Call the store, she said. I called the store and was put on hold for 10 minutes. Finally a woman came back and told me I needed to call Instacart -- "They handle all our LMU deliveries." So, I called Instacart. It took another 15 minutes of being transferred and put on hold before that woman told me Instacart doesn't deliever to LMU at all. Seriously? I just wasted more than an hour because neither of the CVS employees I spoke to knew enough about their store's delivery process to be able to tell me this? What a waste. read more

The cashier on duty was sitting on the ground eating a candy bar and reading a magazine. The other three employees (including the manager) were on break together. Pharmacy was the only department actually working. The photo center doesn't work and staff isn't knowledgeble. It's an over-staffed, low-traffic, brand new CVS-there is no excuse for the employees to be this horrible and for this location to be so poorly managed. read more

Worst cvs pharmacy I've ever been to. My doctor faxed in my prescription. I waited an hour and then went to the pharmacy to pick it up. They couldn't find the fax from my doctor. As soon as I called my doctors to confirm she had sent it, they magically found the prescription. Then They told me it would be 20 mins to fill it. 25 mins later I return only to have them tell me it's coming up. Another 45 minutes later they were still not done. I sat there and watched them fill prescription after prescription for 45 minutes instead of just skipping ahead and filling mine since I was waiting. I couldn't believe it. Im ridiculously sick with the flu and they have zero sense of urgency or compassion for someone who is very ill. read more

Most of the employees I've encountered here are helpful. I have had a few experiences with poor service though. My main complaint is the waits during checkout. I've never shopped at this location without having an extensive wait for checkout. This store is dismally understaffed read more

I used this pharmacy to pick up a prescription for a sick friend. Much like all the others' reviews, I wasn't pleased with my experience for two reasons Customer Service and the Customers! While it is true the pharmacy was understaffed during my visit, and from reading some of the other reviews they must operate that way regularly, It simply does not help when customers display such despicable behavior. All of us in line noticed there were only 2 people working, so you should already have your mind fixed that there is gonna be some sort of wait, but a few of the customers were extremely belligerent, in line and with the clerks. Causing confrontation is not a solution to a long wait, I think it's more time consuming actually. I also don't think being cantankerous will force a clerk to help you or allow you to get your way. If you realize where the problem lies then go directly at the problem. Don't take it out on the workers, yet use them as allies to help you get your complaints to where they need to be. CVS should be more aware of the type of business they're running, and they should be concerned about their ailing and/or drug addicted consumers and keep the pharmacy well-staffed and running smoothly to prevent the sad situations I witnessed during my visit. However, people, we need to be more courteous and considerate towards one another. Let's check our egos and lose the feelings of entitlement. Patience is a virtue. read more

CVS Pharmacy in Playa Vista is the worst!!!!! Horrible service, terribly unfriendly. plus, you always have to wait. There are always different people working, never the same pharmacist and they always get everything wrong. I think they have had five pharmacists in one year. The so called staff pharmacist Patience, literally was abusive to me and my Mom. She was incredibly rude! We couldn't understand her and asked if we could speak with someone else who could better explain the medication, she became verbally abusive and terribly unprofessional. She has a thick accent which made it difficult to understand, she should not be working in this profession if she can not interact with customers. Plus, she NEVER smiles, god forbid you say hello to her. The entire pharmacy staff seems unhappy. So strange since my former cvs pharmacist was so nice. I do not recommend the pharmacy. The front of the store people are really nice. The couldn't be more different. I do like the beauty and shampoo selection in the store its really nice. read more

Since they 'moved' the Mesmer location here, I thought it would also be great service...wrong! My Dr. yesterday couldn't find the new location on his database, so he sent my Rx to the place as a whole, and gave me a written one as backup. Once in the car I called the Playa pharmacy to make sure they could access it. I was told there was 1 patient ahead of me, could I hold please. So I waited about 5-8 minutes, and started driving there. Long story short, I got there, still on hold, walked into the store still with the crappy music playing and saw the store manager. I showed him my phone, ended the call and showed him I had been on hold for 23.30 minutes. They never pick up the phone. I got an "I'm sorry" we are trying to help everyone....what about the people on the phone??? I did get ugly with them, but I was furious! I am moving all my Rx's somewhere else! I had to wait another 20 min for them to call the other pharmacy who had started working on it.....karma, they were also on hold! read more

I love the convenience of having this cvs in our neighborhood. The employees are helpful and friendly. There have even been a few times where I used a few expired coupons and the helpful employees honored there coupons, with a smile. I have nothing but positive experiences at this CVS, both at the pharmacy and store. read more

Really shocked by bad reviews. Have been a customer here for 3 years now and never had any problems with the store or the pharmacy. The prices here are surprisingly incredibly reasonable and not expensive at all. The selection of products here is quite plentiful and diverse - I've even seen some items here not normally found at other CVS locations. The staff is always professional. While there's usually only 1 person posted at the registers, another will always come and open up another line if there are more than 2 customers in line, so there's never really that long of a wait. The only "issue" (if you can call it that) I've ever had here, is from other customers not paying attention to the direction of the line (which is *clearly posted* for everyone to see) which can cause a bit of disruption: The line curves in front of the aisles so that no one is blocking them and everyone can see the line ahead of time (very smart and efficient). Once in a while, people line up in a straight line though, which blocks one of the aisles and hides the customers from those trying to get in line - sometimes leading to confusion as to who was in line first. If the staff corrected this issue themselves whenever it arose, that would be very helpful to the customers! Overall, this is a splendid CVS location and I only wish it were open later! read more

They never answer your call, and when they do answer they greet you with "hold" (not a "hello please hold" or "cvs pharmacy pleaser hold" ...just "hold")-incredibly rude! And when they put you on hold, you're on hold for more than 30 mins and by that time you have already hung up! I have never called the pharmacy and actually been able to speak to anyone! This is a very nice store overall, staff has always been helpful when I'm searching for something and there's lots of inventory on the shelves. One of the cleanest CVS stores I've ever been in and I love the large greeting card selection. The pharmacy certainly takes a beating on the reviews and I have clearly had my own moments of fury with them when put on hold for literally, no BS, 47 freakin minutes! I was so shocked I seriously considered taking a screen shot and driving there and showing them! It's almost a guarantee that no matter when you call there you're going to be put on hold so basically you just deal with it or go elsewhere. The lines in the store when I pickup are chancy, sometimes it's ridiculously long to wait and others it's not so bad. As far as the employees go, I've been coming here for 8+ months and have only had one run in with a snarky young dude on the phone who was pissed when I kept talking after he asked me to hold. I just didn't hear him he was talking so fast and he needed to get over himself. So far as my prescriptions are concerned, they've been good and I hope the positive trend continues in that direction. read more

Horrible pharmacy. It took me 15 minutes at the window to drop off a prescription. The technician kept picking up the phone while he was helping me and was plainly rude to me. I then had to wait over 30 minutes for the prescription to be ready and even the pick up was painful and long. All in all I spent an hour just getting a prescription with my toddler in tow. I was so excited to have a pharmacy in my neighborhood but I'm never going back here. read more

Agree with most of the reviews here. Nice that we finally have one local to our community but the pharmacy's attention, service and follow-up is atrocious. Hope these shortcomings can be attributed to it being a new operation. However, CVS is a brand that should be consistent in its training of employees and business operations. They take forever to answer the phone. Have never contacted my physician to renew my subscription. Nor have they ever returned my call to even let me know the status after promising they would. read more

I really wanted to like this CVS as it is convenient to my home. I've actually tried it out several times and kept making excuses as to why the service is sooooo terrible! I kept telling myself to just give it chance to work out the kinks because it was all new, but today I'm over it!!!! This is a terrible pharmacy!!!! My husband and I stood at the counter for several minutes without being acknowledged. Finally Andrew who seemed so bothered by us told us that he'd be with us in a minute. We patiently stood there until he called us over. He looked at the prescription and immediately told us that he didn't have one of the medications in stock and that he had to go to lunch so it would be an hour before the other one was ready for pick up. I asked if he could call another cvs in the area so that I didn't have to drive around and he said no I can't call you'll just have to drive around! He then realized he had to enter our insurance info into the system and he lost it! He got a bad attitude and called the other pharmacist over to enter our information because he had to go to lunch!!!! This is not my first experience with Andrew behaving unprofessionally. He always seems like he can't be bothered with the customers! It's very disrespectful! read more
