Wakeing up extra early in the morning craving sweets... Saw a lot of different stores but I woke up to early and everything wasn't even opened yet... Expect for cvs! So why not go in and purchases some candies and water... While I was here I have noticed that CVS employees do not remove the sale price tags from the shelf after the item is no longer on sale.... For example I purchased some candies with a tag on the shelf that said it was on sale....The scanner rang it up at the regular price.... I mentioned to the cashier that the price tag on the shelf said the item was on sale at a much lower price... The cashier replied that was a sale from last week and the sale was over a week ago.... This appears to be a problem throughout the store.... read more

I absolutely loathe this location. I live in the neighborhood of where this store is located and rather than go in here ever again I will get in my car and go to another store. I moved into this neighborhood over a year ago, I live in the building across the way. First off they need to power wash the front of this place but regardless of that, I do not like the way they treat customers of color when we come in. I worked for your competitor for over 20 years as a store manager and if my team members treated customers this way they would be fired!!! I have visited this store a few times dressed up and dressed down. When I come in with my hoodie on I am literally stalked through each aisle for whatever reason. I came in last night and I had a hoodie on because it is freaking cold out and I can wear what I want! The person at the door immediately turns to watch me, so when I see her watching me I wave for her to come help me find what I was looking for. When I start to talk to her and she realizes I have some sense, she then ignores me and barley utters the words that someone else can help but doesn't call anyone. Then I look to the front register and I wave down an employee, I think he's a manager, he has dark skin and curly hair. He too has profiled me when I have entered the store. I have wanted to confront them and thought to myself, you can go somewhere else you don't need to come here and is it really worth your frustration if it is just going to continue and they are just going to wash what's going on in this store down with some bullshit apology. Let me tell you how typically I do not play no games and I have never been treated this way in a store before while spending my hard earned coins. I understand the times we are currently in and it's not worth it to me to go completely off and act a fool in this store. I recommend that management work on your processes within this store, let people do their shopping without being stared down like everyone is a thief. I also recommend that you power wash the front of that store and get all them displays from off the floor blocking people's ability to shop! read more

Parking is very hard to find since it's in the busy part of town but somehow we always manage to find parking right in front of the store. Be sure you don't park at the bus stop or you'll get fined like we almost did. HAHA! read more

I get a grand opening coupon in the mail so I head down & buy a couple things from them, some water (on sale), tp (on sale), detergent (on sale), & that tough to find in stock printer ink - (screw you Walmart). I get to the checkout (the line was about 10 people deep) and the clerk is pretty cool & gives me 3 coupons for the same order. You know the drill of only using one per shopping experience or whatever they say. My bill of 27.50 is 11.93. I am thinking how cool this is, even though I had to pay to park at the meter. I check the receipt when I get home and realize not one of the items that was on sale rang up as being on sale - WTF. Since I saved the money on the coupon, I figure it's a wash & I will avoid the hassle. So, nothing good nor real bad to say about them. The pharmacy has TERRIBLE hrs on Sunday: they are only open from 10-4... as someone who works night shift those hours are IMPOSSIBLE to pick up a Rx on sundays. On the day this review was written I woke up almost 3 hrs early than I usually do to pick up a Rx that I ran out of and need to take... when I looked at the time I realized I was barely going to make it to the pharmacy if at all before it closed. I called to ask if there was any way they could remain open, I was just down the street... after asking my name and DOB, I was told "ok, just make sure you bring your ID." I walked into the store 4 min after the pharmacy closed, and what do you know, THEY ARE FREAKING CLOSED (I'm talking gates shut, lights out). What was the point of telling me they would stay open if 4 min after they're closing time the pharmacy was already locked up? Very frustrating read more

Shit, forgot to take the wet wipes out of the bag. Hope your couch is comfy. Conveniently located in the center of a bum hang out. It's a great opportunity to get a little exercise in, running from a homeless guy on everything besides skates that's mad at you for reasons unbeknownst to you and for seemingly your mere existence. Don't make eye contact. I typically do a touchdown dance once I get inside. This is my go to spot for cheap sunglasses that last a month before one of the arms fall off. Decent beer and cheap wine/champagne selection. They applied for a liquor license and obviously it didn't succeed. That's a damn shame and why we can't have nice things. Very nice employees. Receipts are still 5 to 8 feet long. Watching it come out of the printer reminds me of waiting several minutes while tickets come out of a game at Dave and busters because you hit a jackpot. I heard if you hold a receipt up to a light there's a secret inscription that says "fuck trees" but that could be hearsay. read more

We went to the ball park and parked next to here so we went in to get all of our snacks. It's a very small CVS, but still had all we needed. Bottled water, lemonade, chip variety, and some protein drinks from the pharmacy section for breakfast. The protein drinks are pricier then I recall. We had a 30% coupon so that helped and we came out with a really good deal. read more

Have been to this location when in a pinch. As with most stores downtown you always have to step over homeless person. Of course that is not the store's fault that is just the location of a place. This Store usually has an odd odor to it and sticky floors. I only come here out of convenience only. The store is always well stocked and the staff is somewhat friendly. I have only use the pharmacy portion one time and the pharmacist was friendly and my prescription was filled promptly. read more

We use this CVS a bunch because we live upstairs. I can vouch for other comments about homeless outside their doors, more so than other places in Gaslamp and the people that work inside, what can I say, they appear to be homeless too, just with jobs. Many of their customers also appear to be homeless, but with enough money to shop there. Now I've been to plenty of CVS drugstores, and this is by far the worst. I wish someone from CVS would wake up and see what's going on in this store and make it better. I love being able to take an elevator and be there in under a minute, but now shop to avoid it rather than depend on it for odds and ends. Will this go out of business, heck no, they have constant lines of people buying stuff here. Many wait for days just to get in, oops, that's the homeless people. Also, it's not 24 hours because the building HOA rules prevent them from that and that's a good thing. The last thing we want is to have the drunks from Side Bar come over at 2AM, deaf from the loud music, talking at the top of their lungs looking for cheap wine and beer. We hope they just go back the burbs from wenst they came. As for the comment on it being a shady location, it is what it is, it's downtown, get used to it. Homeless people like the lifestyle, the weather, the nightclubs, the tricycle rickshaws, the same reasons you came there, hahaha! You want to see real shady, real homeless, go hang out in the core by A,B,C streets, now that's the hard core homeless that have built homes out of shopping carts and lend them a hand, it's not like they have construction skills, they need help. As for parking, there's plenty across the street at Parkit on Market, just a buck for an hour. read more

The auto checkout lines are ambiguous. There's no distinct line to join, so getting cutoff happens frequently. It's also Obnoxious that there aren't more employees working and everything is automated. Otherwise, had the stuff I needed, so it was sufficient. read more

This is one of my favorite CVS stores to buy makeup from. I find that everything is well stocked and organized. Most importantly the customers seem to respect the products and I rarely find something that has been opened and used. There's nothing worse than finding something that you like and then seeing that it has been used! They have all the brands that every CVS carries like L'Oreal, Maybelline, Rimmel, Physicians Formula, Milani, and Covergirl. CVS is also the only place that you can find Salma Hayek's makeup/skincare brand Nuance. This CVS is large, clean, and they have really friendly employees. Also make sure you have their loyalty card because you can earn CVS extra bucks really easily and you can use them on your next transaction. What I usually do when I get products that earn me extra bucks is split my transaction into two, that way I can use the extra bucks on the spot. This CVS also has a self check-out section which is great for those of us who aren't very social (like myself). read more

She helps me with any questions I have. The store staff is nice too. I just hate to get pushed to the self checkouts. I always have trouble with them. The creeps hanging around out front really suck. This is the WORST PHARMACY I have ever done business with. They text me 4 hours ago that my clients 3 medications are ready, I get here and they only know about 2 and then go on to say they were put back because I didn't pick them up... Only complaint I have about this CVS is that it's difficult to actually figure out where the line to the register is because of the way they've set things up. Closes at 8 pm. Wow... this CVS doesn't really have it all. Selection on cosmetics, food/snacks and alcohol is limited. I guess it's... a smaller store, so items are limited since there's no room! There's not even a section to buy clothes or cute stockings for the holidays... ughh.. The location can be shady- You have some shady people walking in and out of that place. No parking at this place either unless you're lucky to find something on the street or live near by. It's not even 24 hours! Like all CVS pharmacies, its a great place to see crazy people in line. This time it was a shirtless homeless guy buying flavored water. The cap was a tad open because he kept squirting himself with the water. He was also mumbling something. When he went to pay, he poured water on the dollar in his hand. This is strictly a review regarding the pharmacy. Their motto should be the customer is always wrong - even though she is pregnant and simply trying to get her insulin because she has been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. The clerk/pharmacist/idiots wearing white coats are rude and unprofessional. They cannot own up to their mistakes! I'm sure a defense mechanism they've learned after making many!!! Here's my experience... First, I was called and informed that my insulin prescription was pending approval from my insurance. Thereafter, I was left an automated voice message saying that my prescription was ready. Of course, being diabetic and pregnant, I immediately go to pick up my prescription. However, the only prescription that was available to me was the needles. Really, what the fuck am I going to do with needles without the insulin. Poke myself?!?! IDIOTS. They of course felt that it was not their fault that they did not clarify this information. About a week later, the insulin prescription eventually was processed and I was given an automated call making me aware of this. Again, I head over. At glance, the prescription seemed to be OK. Insulin and needles were given to me. However, learning my lesson from their incompetence, I check the order just to make sure. Of course, the needles that was provided did not go with the insulin prescribed. They were able to explain this to me upon examination but why was this error not caught prior to me picking it up and almost going home with the wrong items!!!! They obviously shifted the blame to the doctors but hey if you're able to explain to the patient that the needles didnt go with the insulin, why couldn't you have asked the prescribing doctor this exact question. Oh yes, it's because it would mean customer service. Something that they dont do there!! I informed the clerk that it was my first time using insulin. He said do you have any questions. I said yes, do you refrigerate the insulin ( I only asked because I saw him take it out of the fridge). He rudely was like "yes." Like I should have known. If I didn't ask, he would have just let me leave without telling me basic, necessary information about my medicine! Is there a manager I can send this to and if they are pharmacists is there a board I can complain about? Beyond livid! Hate this place, and definitely taking my business elsewhere. read more

my one stop whenever I am drunk downtown and desire that pack of cigarettes that you shouldn't smoke, but you do it anyways. Its conveniently located in the Gaslamp area, and my service there is always great! Whenever there is a line, a sales associate opens a new lane and im in-and-out in a few minutes. Do not come here when you need competent service from a doctor or pharmacist. I lost my voice and was looking for advice other than Ricola and rest. Barely even got that. I approached the consultation counter and motioned I had no voice. The guy behind the counter said "Well so you want to write it down?"..... as if the fact that I had no voice and standing at "consultation" counter was not clue enough. So he said he couldn't recommend anything and doctor/pharmacist was on break and back in 20. I waited and then approached the counter and waived to pharmacist. He begrudgingly came over and I motioned I'd lost my voice. He dismissed me a"there's nothing for that. Nothing. Go rest and drink tea w lemon and honey." He didn't look at my throat, didn't ask me if I had any symptoms. He was condescending so I just motioned "thank you" when I really meant "f u. " I'd hate to think how they treat those with disabilities that try to express themselves to people who couldn't give a rat's a$$. read more

Andrew Perez the pharmacist caught a major billing error. I was tired, grouchy and he still helped me with a smile. He double checked with his Manager Buu Nguyen to make sure they could correct it and refund me. I was so happy how kind and helpful they both were. Based off how patient and kind they both were I truly believe they desserve a raise and some praise! Tala also helped with everything too. I also came into the store earlier in the day and felt like I was in a movie. Everyone was dressed so nicely and greeted me with a smile. They everyone was professional and very up beat.
