This has gone from a 5 star to a 1 star service since my original review. John wouldn't allow a return so I had to call the corporate office, who kindly allowed the return. A few days later, hubby goes in and asks for the small, RED, pseudoephedrine pills that you can only get behind the counter. John says, "Do you want the 12 hour or 24 hour." My husband picked one of the choices thinking they're both the small red pills since he knows I have allergy throat constriction problems and can't swallow big pills. John hands my hubby the bag and it's the huge, long white pills. I asked hubby to return them for the correct one. It ended up as a screaming match between John and hubby, with John upset that hubby didn't know the different 12 vs 24 hour pills were the white ones (told John we didn't go to pharmacy school like him and he should have explained that when my husband asked for the small, red pills and John offered a totally different choice of the white pills.). John's yelling, saying hubby asked for the white pills and my hubby is yelling back saying he FIRST asked for the red pills so why would John offer a choice that isn't the RED pills. The screaming match was in front of other customers. It ended with me on the phone, letting John know we'll be calling corporate yet again. We are half year in Cali and half year in Atlanta. We don't have problems with the Cali store so I'm not sure why there are so many issues and poor reviews for this store. With CVS's stock significantly down due to rising competition, this type of optics is not a good look for the Company.

Each of the many employees I've had interactions with have also been friendly and helpful. This has always been a busy location, and even more so with the other CVS on Powers Ferry closing. However, those at this store always manage in a courteous way.

You need to be proactive to get Costco Member Prescription Pricing (CMPP) or to provide your…read moreinsurance. Scanning your Costco Card is not enough to get CMPP pricing as we found out. If your prescription info says "Cash Price Adj" - they did not apply CMPP or your insurance. We are confused why the cashier scanned a member card but let the Highest Cash Price be applied. More context below, but when I followed up with pharmacist about it, she said "your wife was okay with the price charged." Yes, because we assume for $120 a year we automatically get CMPP pricing when our membership card is scanned and no insurance is on file (CMPP is much better than our Insurance pricing). My wife's script on an annual basis is $72 less with CMPP than what she was charged. Looking at Costco.com, prescription drug prices show some as being a $11,640 annual difference between retail and CMPP price. Be proactive - scanning your member card isn't enough. Side note: My dogs' meds got CMPP applied without asking. My wife, a Costco Member, scanned her card and the CMPP price was still not applied to her Rx. When discussing an Rx for me with the pharmacist, I asked why my wife would not get the same CMPP pricing as we had received for our pet. She replied that "your wife was okay with the price charged but I'll refund the difference." We didn't know what the price should be. Only saw when we got home the paperwork said "Cash Price Adj" instead of what our pet's meds paperwork said "CMPP." Fortunately, the difference was just a few dollars. However, there are several Rx where the CMPP price is $50-$100 instead of $1000+. I expressed that we are lucky, but they need to train their cashiers to always ask new patients for insurance. If they are a Costco member, then the cashier needs to ask if they want to apply Costco member pricing or their Insurance. In a time of high inflation it is ridiculous Costco Members need to proactively ask for Member Pricing at the pharmacy. But... here we are. Having had RX's filled at Walgreens, CVS and others, I remember all on my first visit ask me to provide my insurance card during my 1st Rx. It is confusing to me why the Pharmacist seemed okay that their cashiers do not have that same training. Costco's pricing is great, but be proactive. They are not going to give you the pricing you pay $60-$120/year to have unless you ask. Scanning your card is not enough. Lastly, Costco has a great Authorized Generic program for several drugs. But, speaking with the Pharmacy Manager, Costco Corp is not educating its clubs on this program. However, he did confirm it exists. This was a disappointment with Costco Corp and not this individual location.
