I had recently switched CVS pharmacies from the 24 hour one in Sunnyvale on El Camino to the Hollenbeck store thinking that I would get better, more personalized service. Boy, was I ever right! I feel stupid for not switching over sooner. The ladies behind running the pharmacy quickly caught on to my regular needs and medications. I would require a TAR every time I got my scripts filled. At the 24 hour store, it would literally take 2 weeks from the time I dropped off my script until the time it was ready; and when I would call to check up on them, I got an attitude. Your employees at the Hollenbeck location have always been courteous, communicative and proactive in ensuring that my doctor filled out the proper forms, that Medical received my paperwork and that my meds are filled in a timely manner. I came in at 8:50 p.m. on Friday and dropped off my prescription. I expected to pick it up the next day, but instead, they fulfilled it. My doctor had written the wrong instructions, but the pharmacist used their professional discretion. By 9:05, I received both of my medicines and I was quite happy. The store itself feels a little dingy. Maybe it's because of the fluorescent lighting? Walgreens seems like a happy place. read more

The store is clean & fairly well stocked; check out associates pretty good. I had a calendar book to return but I could not find the receipt. I was told they would not return it even for store credit. This doesn't happen to me much because I save receipts usually. Extremely disappointed in this new policy at the Hollenbeck store!! read more

It's pretty sad they don't have a restroom for customers to use. I returned my items to the shelf and will take my money elsewhere.

I wanted to give no star if I can, this place is rude no customer service at all. They have a security always watch you and follow you while you shop. Makes people feel very uncomfortable. read more

The pits. Sale items are frequently not in stock...and never come in. The restroom is perpetually out of order. The selection of products is terrible. The store interior is not inviting. Displays are messy and not visually appealing. Cashiers are not customer friendly, and managers appear overworked and "victims" of "Corporate" who doesn't seem to care about this store....from what the managers tell customers. Prices are on the high side. Walgreens is levels above, and RIte Aid is tops, for customer service, selection, ambiance and price. Don't waste your time at this CVS. read more

When your RX is shorted, you're screwed. Go online to see how many CVS employees have been found stealing entire BOTTLES of pills from assistants to techs to pharmacists alike...shocking stuff. I used to ignore all the people who would come in and say they were shorted. Until, it happened to my husband, where I thought he must have been counting wrong. But then, it was my turn. The same employee "counted" again, told me how it couldn't happen. Ignoring that the SAME person just checked their OWN work, so they could say, do, write, take, drop, lose, write whatever they want. Their unsealed bottles are apparently supernaturally protected once the counting is done, in between getting there to me. I wish last year, when they gave me the wrong, LETHAL RX, that I would have done something - but I was nice, and dropped it. I was told the names are so similar (sorry, not even close). I was livid, but I didn't want someone to get fired, or possibly get their life ruined. The woman on the phone said "please, come in early tomorrow, and I'll personally take care of it." That sounded at first like good customer service, now I see it as what it really was, someone covering their ass making sure there was no trail of evidence. And get this, they told me my insurance wasn't covering my meds so I was charged $145 - I go a DAY later to a new pharmacy and bam, covered. Scammers. Look, I just give up. As Louie CK has said in his comedy act and tv show, CVS's slogan should be, "CVS: sometimes you gotta come in here." I've switched all my RX's to another family owned pharmacy - I am not letting them abuse me any longer. I remember I went in to their doctor service once at another location - said "we treat UTI's", "complicated UTI's". I had one. The doctor said "that will be about $75, and I can't treat it so you have to go to this other emergency place instead. I can't write enough of the medication you need." What? She was saying she couldn't write a prescription for 3 extra days of antibiotics. A doctor. I think I'm slowly going insane, but I am pretty sure a doctor is allowed to write antibiotics for complicated UTI's (ones which have reached the kidneys). What she was really saying, was she didn't want to. How about having the balls to say that instead of lying? Oh, because they would have to give me a refund then. Ohhh. Well, just another pile of crap heaped upon me by CVS. This along with them taking hours to fill things where KML or others can fill things in 30 minutes or less - I can't keep writing (Yelp has a 5,000 character limit). So I will just say, they break Federal laws here, HIPAA violations are common, they lie about not having enough inventory to fill any Class III medicines, and even after three years they still did the same thing each time (we have to see if we have it). It was the SAME DAY month after month, for years - they would say sorry, we don't have enough even though I was told they would order to make sure there was enough - how does that happen? I enter this store only if I'm in an absolute rush, near it anyhow and can't allow spending time going somewhere else. Also I'll do it only if I know what I need and where to find it in the store, because I'll never find someone's to help me inside. This store look deserted sometimes it looks like there's only one employee at the cashier. The shelves are always in a mess, and to top that the prices are higher than other drugstores around the corner. Also something that extremely annoys me- they keep sending these coupons that are good for nothing and you can never use. read more

I have been going to this Longs then CVS practically all my life, and I have to say things have improved. I love most of the staff except a few but you can't have everything I guess. The good ones more than make up for the bad ones. They are knowledgeable about the products and if they cannot help me the employee finds someone who can. The selection tends to change quite a bit and they seem to change their layouts fairly frequently which helps keep up with new items, but makes it a bit difficult to constantly know where everything is. I, however, really appreciate the fact that almost all the fronts of the aisles have only sale items. The sale items are usually one of the only reasons I come into the store but I love the fact I can find most of my everyday items readily available. If I ever have a problem it is always resolved by one of the managers. All in all, it is slowly becoming a better and better store, and I am glad it is my nieghborhood Longs/CVS....(The one on De Anza Blvd is the one to stay away from....ITS TERRIBLE!!) read more

In a good location in the same plaza as Safeway. Not as much selection as Rite Aid down the street, but it's a smaller store in general so that is to be expected. Nothing particular about it, but they tend to run low on weekly specials very early in. The week so you have to jump on it. The staff is friendly. read more

So I've noticed over the past couple months that this store has greatly improved. I've been coming here for years, but it's never been a whirlwind experience. Now, the staff here is friendly, always greeting guests & offering for help. The store is always clean and stocked. The pharmacists are helpful when you have any questions as well. Me and two other people went into the store looking for things to buy and two employees one man and one woman were staring at us as we looked for this to buy. When we went to the other part of the store because it made us uncomfortable the woman followed us and said that we can leave for no reason. After that I asked her to repeat herself because I was unsure if it was in response to something someone else said (it wasn't) and she just said "If you are just going to mess around leave.) keep in mind we did nothing to provoke her and had just been shopping. Soon after we paid for our things and left. The cashier was helpful though. read more

Compared to the CVS stores I've been to in other cities, this one is pretty bad. Dim lighting, rude sales people, slow pharmacy, and unpredictable selection. You never know if they're going to have a product or not, and if they do it's often damaged or misplaced. If you can, I would definitely suggest finding a different pharmacy. read more

Came here yesterday on a Sunday morning because I had to stop and by a couple of items because I was feeling sick. The CVS is easy accessible off of Hollenback and they have plenty of parking spaces due to a large private lot right outside. They also have a RedBox outside so I of course had to stop and rent a movie. It is a larger sized store and the shelves were very neat and fully stocked. They were in the process of stocking up Halloween items and they had a lot of leftover Summer items on clearance. They have a larger area for frozen food and grocery items than I'm used to seeing at a CVS and they had 2 aisles just for wine. I found the staff working their that day to be friendly however there was a manager giving staff a review while they were ringing me out so that was a little awkward, but I thought it was a pretty decent CVS and I would go there again. Very friendly staff on the whole and a great place to take advantage of weekly deals and coupons. I would say 5 star for the store but my experiences with the pharmacy have been very mixed, often with long wait times, so for that reason I can only rate a 4. read more

Except for the pharmacy, this store is okay, great prices with their weekly coupons, and most (though not all) staff are helpful and friendly. However, the pharmacy leaves a lot to be desired: - Always a long wait, regardless of time of the day, day of the week, they are simply short-staffed. - No respect for privacy, pharmacists asked for private info loudly in open space, and they shouted back and forth among themselves to discuss your case in front of all the other people waiting - One time, when I picked up a medication, the copay came out higher than what it was before ago (same medication, same insurance plan), I asked why, and the reply was "Do you want it or not?" I explained my concern again, and the 2nd answer was "that's what was rung up" Finally, she looked something up on her computer, and proceeded to call my insurance company on speaker phone, I interrupted the call when she was about to read my personal info as I didn't want the 5 other people waiting in line to hear all my personal details! Since I needed the medication, I paid the higher copay, and figured I would call my insurance company after I getting home (with some privacy.) It turned out that the higher copay was due to CVS entering a wrong code. I went back to CVS and talked to the same pharmacist, her answer was "it's too late, there is nothing we can do now, you should have figured that out before paying." Well, how about you didin't make the mistake to start with? Or be able to catch your mistake when I asked? read more

It's fine. Nice folks both in the checkout lines and in the pharmacy. They usually have what I need both in terms of medicine and cosmetics and even random stuff like ant poison and laundry bins. There is also an astonishing assortment of booze offered... s'mores flavored vodka anyone? LOL at the complaints that they weren't fast enough to provide a bathroom. That's not really the primary purpose of a neighborhood drugstore and I'd rather the employees be working the checkout counter so I can be on my way, rather than spending their time managing a public toilet. read more

This store is within walking distance, so I come here often. It used be fairly nice, at least the people were friendly. But lately things have changed. One day, I was asking for help to read a label, as I cannot see well without reading glasses. The girl read 4 out the 7 letters/numbers. I asked for the remaining 3. She read the first 4 again. I said again what are the last 3 letters/numbers. She refused to tell me and got mad at me! Then another lady helped me grudgingly, but she did read all 7 letters/numbers. Then I thought I should perhaps tell their manager. I saw a guy working there, was thinking about asking who is the manager, but he surely looked very unhappy to be there. So I didn't asked him who might be the manager. Later I found that the lady who helped me grudgingly is the manager. Even the manager is not happy to be here or see their customers. What happened to this place? Walgreen it is now, even though it is not as near my place. read more
